The BMW X5 is extremely reliable. I haven't had a single engine problem in past years, and drives superb on and off road. Now done 145,000 miles across several countries. Never changed oil or needed a service past few years. Just new tyres. The only pain is the door carriers, which are far too flimsy for the heavy doors. Otherwise zero problems...and my X5 2005 looks mint for its age. Mine also has an upgraded Pioneer touchscreen Satnav. I've never seen an X5 with such horrible, tatty cloth seats like yours. The black leather seats are still in superb condition in my X5. I use mine daily and also sleep in it in comfort. All in all, I simply love it! 🙂
haven't had any problems with my 4.4i, even with me pushing it all the time.
Just picked up an 03 X5 with 170 000kms on the clock for my wife. Going through and doing the maintenance on it right now and your videos are helping. Only major issue with it is an engine oil leak on the M54 3.0L engine which I believe is common. Getting it up on the hoist this weekend to take a look and do an oil change. Cheers from BC Canada!
Nice, they are a cool SUV, I really liked the one I had. M54 common oil leaks- valve cover gasket, oil filter housing gasket, VANOS hose, and the oil pan gasket (which is a big job on an X5, the front axles have to come out)
I have a 2001 x5 3.0 and 2004 x5 4.4i e53s that I bought for $3000 each, put a little work into them and I like them. They're 20 years old, no rust, drive solid, and look good. I've replaced the regular parts that everyone with one has to, but for 20 years old any vehicle is going to need something.
Thanks for sharing man, yes they are solid SUV’s for sure. 20 years will take its toll on any vehicle, but there are still a lot of E53’s out there still going strong
Ha ha, funny that, I too paid $3000NZD for my 2001 4.4 X5.
I love it, and I'm giving her a major overhaul. All bushings and arms have been changed. I am also going to build the famous M60B44 franken-motor 11-1 compression paired with a 6-speed manual and twin H pipe for a deep V8 sound.
My one, in my opinion, is in the best color for me (white), and E53's are hard to find in white.
Love the car, this really has style. Give it another 200k km and we well see it in thunder dome.
Sounds like a plan!
Sad to see it’s on the market :(. Have loved watching the x5 videos and helped me out purchasing mine!
I certainly didn’t want to sell it, had many more videos planned, but something came about where I lost the X5 (long story!)
Thanks man, love your e53 videos!
Thanks for watching!
Simply strong e53 3.0l..20years old still strong.😊
🤙
Ah, the Porirua region outside of "Willingtun" NZ

You’re the only person that’s ever commented on this! 😄
@@MTechGuy hahaha, I searched the comments first
Hello my friend, I have a problem with poor torque and fuel consumption?
English with northern accent ?. It suit for teaching English on car review 👍
Northern English with a bit of Kiwi, probably not the best example to learn from 😐
Tell me why I thought the exact same thing my UA-cam channel is no bueno
Was it easy to fit the side steps and kit.? Thanks
Yes, had to change the bumpers too as they are specific to side steps
Definitely not reliable.
