Really enjoy these videos Hardy. Will you post more about the Tarp Star 2? I'm interested in purchasing one myself and weighing it up against other trekking pole options.
Absolutely #outstanding Hardy👌I get the motivation aspect.....Work/kids/family/life etc. But without doubt, you have something special about your vids and content. KTF🙏
Not watched any youtube in a long while but this was a nice watch and good to see you on the water and with a new tent. Great compositions and drone shots as always. Nice one!
You can keep your mountains and woodland, this is my idea of a great wild camp despite the pesky flies and gnats. Proper chilled little spot is this and right beside that lovely water, perfect. 🙂👍
Hi i am new to your channel, really enjoyed this video. Great humour and fantastic drone shots. I have a tent like the the one in this vid, mines made by dd but i enjoy all the same features you mentioned about the alpkit. Thanks for making and sharing the video and where can i get one of them folding little tables 😁? Grate video, thanks again 👍
@@nealbe many thanks for stopping by. The dd one is great too . You can get the table from this link. All the best. Hardy www.outdoorgb.com/p/soto-field-hopper-mini-pop-up-aluminium-table/
Another master class from hardy , great to see you back out and what a location . Also welcome to the world of trekking pole shelters its the way to go. Looking forward to seeing you return to do a camp at that mill. I agree tiny repel is a good light, I prefer my smoking midge instead 👍 tfs atb Dave 👍👍👍
Great to see you out again Hardy. Beautiful location and loved that paddle in you did. You’re inspiring me to get my inflatable banana out. Think I’ve got lucky with my Lanshan 2 as it survived absolutely everything thrown at it on the Coast to Coast including 5 days of rain storms and v.strong wind. Light, waterproof, easy to erect (Matron…). The gaps are for ventilation as it’s designed for spring/summer. People can also just lower the poles if they don’t like the gaps! Also has two decent vestibules for storing wet gear and cooking in if the weather is rough. Your dinner looked delicious by the way 🫡
Good to see you back out (finally) again, Hardy … Great place for an overnighter that! 👍🏻 I have a Lanshan-1 Plus, with 4-season inner and T-Zip inner doors. It’s my go to shelter for when I need something half the weight of the Helm-1. That silly door guy system was the first thing I changed on the tent straight away, before even using it for the first time! It’s way better now for getting rid of that arrangement..😁
Nice vid that, i was expecting Nicolas Parsons at the start 😂😂😂 im not sold on those tiny repels at all. Citronella and ive got my eyebon the smokin midge set up too. Really enjoyed that. That old mill was so interesting. Love the sound of the Bittern. Keep em coming.
Well worth the wait Hardy great video as always I'm trying to get rid of kit and your showing me a new tent 😂 I just give my lanshan 2 away for the same reason you said but I do like the lanshan 1 with 4 season inner that mill looked like it could drop at any moment its amazing down there my grandson has decided to stay there after finishing University so I might pop down for a few nights and get a camp at the same time 😂 atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
I just wish Alpkit had designed it in such a way as to allow a little bit of a vestibule, and also added some tieout points on the middle of each side panel. I have heard rumours they will potentially update with some tieouts. One thing that draws me to this tent is it can be used with the 1 and 2 person inner, which increases its versatility quite a bit. If they make those improvements, I may be tempted. The video was gorgeous with the sights and sounds.
@@Jon_From_Coventry the issue I had with the Tarpstar 1 is that the inner always had to be pitched on the side and the vestibule is never at the front. A design flaw. Also, if raining, you have to be very careful opening doors as there’s a risk water can come straight in on the inner. A strong tent in windy weather though - as Hardy mentioned in the vid.
@@benhikescamps it's odd as the footprint looks fairly square, so it wouldn't take much to have it so the inner was at the 'back' - seems like such an easy fix for them but quite a substantial oversight. I was thinking the 2 person inner could easily be designed better, by having an indented triangle at the door. Still enough space for two inside, but with a small vestibule.
Hi, it’s far from perfect but as a budget shelter it can take some nasty weather. Yes, some improvements coming up I think early next year……. All the best. Hardy
Great job on the video bud
Thanks mate! Great place to camp.cheers
Such a nice spot there, love it!
Thanks mate, really nice little overnighter - home/camp made fishcakes to boot!
