Who else expected him to lick the hunk of salt, like most other things he has
Me
Me
me
Me cause i want to know if the crystalize salt taste same
Me
It would be cool to see what you can cast with molten salt
I agree, I was going to comment this XD
CodeRedCody I agree, it could make a uniquely textured sculpture of some kind. Next new art trend = molten salt?
That would be way cool
U can cast me
I was totally thinking about that too! That would be really sweet!
would love to see how molten salt reacts to liquid nitrogen!
pour molten salt in water = Explosion
Priyo M Backyard scientist already did that
I would use a water tank and a copper tube with endcap.
Place the copper tube in the middle fill the container with water so 1-2 " will be on the outside then pour the molten salt inside will the water heat up and how much would it heat up?
You should definitely try molding into different shapes. Also, what would happen if the molten salt is mixed with liquid nitrogen. Inquiring minds need to know!!
Please try molten salt vs dry ice
i got a guess BOOOM that is all
yessss
I never knew that salt can melt 🤔
Now I know thanks to you
Please try making sodium metal by performing electrolysis on liquid salt forming chlorine gas and sodium metal, and if you where careful be a cool experiment that would leave you with some sodium, another cool material! Like if you agree!
I love the idea but think that they lack the materials to pull it off without the Na simply absorbing moisture in the air and igniting
Yea, that would be tough, you would need lab or something with little moisture
It would work, but they'd get poor quality sodium from it. There'd be a large amount of sodium oxide unless they used a gas shield.
Yea, I know, it just would be cool to see done. Even if the sodium was poor quality...
Yeah, don't use NaCl, unless you really like chlorine gas.
Can you try putting a snow globe in the vacuum chamber?
You should try to put molten salt into water it will have a pretty cool reaction
That will actually make it explode.
DragonTechTips that's the point isn't something exploding cool
Like Backyard Scientist did you mean?
Prototype95 x the backyard scientist tried that
yes, do it like TheBackyardScientist did
I don't know why, but I was waiting for you to lick the salt after you cracked it in half. lol
Simply loved the ice/salt explosions.. :D
Try making salt bullets like the previous lead ones
Huh. No taste test this time
Hahahahaha!! Seriously just laughed out loud
I actually wanted him to taste it
Haha
I would of pour this Down a inkling's throat just so they can taste that salt.
😁😁😁😁😁
The King of Random
Melt. Sugar. And. Salt. In. Mini. Arc. Frnance
I forgot how the foundry sounded and it's still amazing
Very cool experiment!
can you try melting a magnet it's really cool
No it's not, you're literally just melting iron. "It's really cool" is a clear example of you not doing your research.
Might as well melt iron.
Tate Amstutz not only that, but when you heat up a magnet it tends to explode (with my experience)
Please make a homemade van de graffe. It’s a static electricity generator. So cool!
Someone just told me this today for the first time and I thought I would check out what it looked like.... not disappointed! Didn't expect the molten behaviour
I like the sound of the forge starting up
Try casting with molten salt, mix it with molten iron, brass and aluminum and see the results.
Can you take molten salt and pass electricity through it to get sodium metal?🤔🤔
Param Rajguru wouldnt rly work, it reacts way to fast with air
Not how that works unfortunately. The result would be something more like just attaching two wires to a hunk of metal, well that is if the wires survived long enough in the liquid salt.
Actually yes, it does work, but it's really dangerous and makes chlorine gas.
That would be a fused salt electrolysis and is actually one of the methods to win alkali metals or flour and chlorine
It can be done, but it is much easier to use sodium hydroxide because it becomes liquid at a much lower temperature. However, you must have the proper face shielding and body shielding since liquid NaOH is really caustic.
Awesome I loved your videos
Loved the vid! You should try dropping pieces of dry ice in the liquid molten salt!
Do more survival tips if possible they are easy for you to do and awesome to watch. 😃
Molten Salt and Liquid Nitrogen??
mohammed mokhtar shut up
Inactive Wall Say why and he can
i was thinking the same thing. i think id be pretty cool
mohammed mokhtar yea I thought this would be a amazing idea
Inactive Wall rude
how would quarts react to the extreme temperatures of the backyard foundry? i know that it expands at some point releasing energy. but past that im curious.
This just aint TKOR anymore the old videos were informative, useful and entertaining but this is just "Hey I'm bored what happens when I stick this into fire?"
I agree
Pretty much I miss all of the cool projects TKOR used to come up with
Totally agree
Just moved from one extreme (liquid nitrogen) to the other.
So true.
Put Molten salt on liquid nitrogen. Please,….…
and water
Literally nothing interesting would happend
I was thinking the same, but the other way around. Liquid nitrogen in the molten salt.
Yesss!
Awesomeness Brahadhish that doesn't make any sense I don't think it would do anything
Casting using salt?
Kris Akira Gunnersen yesssss
Yes
Wow! It melts!
I was not knowing what was gonna happen but I wasn't disappointed
Can you cast shapes or figures with molten salt?
Make salt ingot
More like Salt gem/salt crystal..
Yep
I love it when the foundry burps. ;-)
*dips metal tong on molten salt*
"Hmmm it doesn't light on fire"
😂😂😂
tongs usally have coating on em which is flammable
Can u put dry ice in to molten salt
Please make a salt cast of something
“Molten salt, pretty fun to play with”
never thought I would hear someone say that
I thought Ice Age was bullshitting me with the lava scene when I first saw it, but it turns out there was some actual science behind it.
Can you try dipping fries into molten salt?
Diszy Dead sea fries 😂
Lol
The water in the fries would cause an explosion...
I triple dog dare you to pour molten salt into water(immediately after you melt it and pour it very fast)
Darkest Demon yeah
Never knew the molten salt is this THIN. Learned something today.
Mixing all elements at once 😂
pour the molten salt into water it will explode
Ghostpepper ghoul I bet you got that off backyard scientist
Yeah i bet too
Meto
Pure sodium (Na) is naturally reactive with water, so that would make sense; table salt is also known as sodium chloride, or NaCl, and in a molten state the thermal energy would make the sodium react instantaneously with water, with explosive results as the reaction produces hydrogen gas, which would ignite from the heat alone.
Try tasting the salt you melted
Torracat XD it tastes the same table salt is heated to 1200 degrees before it's sold
I have a better idea, try tasting molten salt while its still molten
No it has the poisoned residue from previous things being melted in the crucible
Torracat XD I wouldn’t recommend it because I accidentally had that happen once with a bag of mix nuts and they’re all come together by that’s weird gunk
It was OK so I took a big-ol bite and end up with this horrible salty taste in my mouth for at lease 15 minutes straight
I don't know if it'll be too exciting but I really want to see you crack an egg onto the salt once it's cooled into a hard plate like thing I think it'd be really funny to watch haha
In pottery and ceramics there is a method called "salt glazing". I dont know the chemistry behind it, but essentially salt is dropped into a kiln so quickly that it vaporizes/melts and fuses with the clay to form a clear glass like textured glaze on the pottery.
Can you try melting metals like aluminum, bismuth, and lead in the salt.
Won't do much, although I would like another metal mixing video.
I saw a video of a guy that poured molten salt on some metal and is melted
Plz. Try electrolysis of molten salt!
Do you think you could make a molten salt cannon with spherical ice balls? Like, getting the salt molten and having a special piping leading down into it, dropping the ice ball into it and seeing if it'll launch as a directed projectile or mortar.
You Should try casting with molten salt using different moldes 😋
What if you pour molten salt in liquid nitrogen
Midhat Idrizi NOTHING it would just vaporize it
I think it would solidify really fast almost explosively.
it would explode
well since it explodes in water...
Midhat Idrizi I already said that, lol
you could probably cook an egg on that plate of salt :D
Gracie Mccall i was thinking the exact same thing.
people do. It's called Himalayan Rock Salt. People put slabs of it on the barbecue and then cook their steaks on it
thats cool!!!
Very funny ice canon..😂😂
YUM!
do a video on bismuth
What would happen if u put oobleck in a vacuum chamber?
Lol that would be hard to do but it would be cool to see
Nothing... It would cool and then just be salt on a plate.
Tate Amstutz ok
Tate Amstutz oobleck is not liquid salt
TheKoalabear but its made of water and cornstarch
Amazing vedio
Should try a Newton's Cradle in the vacuum chamber, would be interesting to see if it goes for longer due to the lack of air resistance. Might not make a full video though.
Shockfrezze the molten Salt with Liquid Nitrogen!
And watch the reaction.
oh thats cool
would be cool
Pour molten salt into water, but keep your distance to be save, you don´t want to be in the splash zone.
The backyard scientist
Finally it came
A friend sort of predicted what would happen with dropping the ice into the salt; he had the same thing happen when he worked at a foundry and someone tossed an aluminum ingot that was at about 12 F into the kiln.
You guys are 🔥AWESOME🔥!!
Thank you King Of Random
What would happen if you put bakeing soda in the furnace
Gracie Mccall you get soda ash
You get baked soda
ᒃ "baked soda... hehe
Actually Gracie it will release carbon dioxide and turn into sodium carbonate and water
How hot will the mini arc furnance (prvious project) get?
Try with different metals and work your way up.
Sorry for not so perfect english
Im from swizerland.😊
If you could find a way to keep the salt cleaner during the melting process, I'd be interested to know how a fried egg would taste on a layer of the salt like you had on the pot. Might be delicious!
wonder how dry ice would react in the molten salt?
No, he has done dry ice vs different molten metals. It just melts. And sizzles.
Yea do it
I agree do it
Forge a knife in that foundry!!!!!
Wow. Nice
Lol you think these clowns have that type of manual skill?
Smackeddie i sure have
the foundry sounds like a ribbiting frog
I think you may be slipping a bit I really expected you to taste it after it cooled. Love the videos keep up the great work.
How well does casting salt work?
You should dip hot dogs and French fries and other food items you would put salt on and see what happens when they get fully submerged under the molten salt
Nice and slate thing and does molten salt taste the same once it has cooled down?
When casting with salt, would you get a better cast if the mould was heated?
you should try a baking soda volcano in vacuum chamber
Thermite sparklers please
Could you still use/eat the salt as table salt after you melted it and crunched it up again?
you should try casting with salt anyway :D might not be perfect but might still be fun to do
Vacuum chamber + Tesla coil
Nice idea
Kaneki Kun electroBOOM all ready did that
Yes, but it is interesting to see it done in their better vacuum chamber.
Why? Electricity has no change in vacuum!
Matte Edström electricity itself doesn't, but electric arcs do. They are made of ionized air. If there is a lot less air, arcs behave differently. As you may know, tesla could produce arcs, so that means they will look different in a vacuum chamber.
can you try and cook an egg on the hot salt biscut
Woo Kitty Scooter it was posted yesterday morning
@The King of Random, you should do a video of dropping ice in the molten salt but closing the top so I cant reject the ice cube. Also try pouring the salt on a big chunk of ice maybe?
Would be fun to see you boil sea water to extract salt from it with the backyard foundry
It would be cool if you got a new clean crucible melted salt casted it then tasted it. I was disappointed that you didn't at least lick the cooled down salt
Could you throw molten salt into a huge bath of water!! :D
does the salt dissolve normally in water after it has been heated up and the cooled? what about with other liquids?
You should mix molten salt and molten glass together, curious to see how the compound would look
PLEASE TRY TO PUT MOLTEN SALT IN WATER❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
backyardscientist already did it
Nice place to this work
SONU kr ?
would've been cool to see you test the conductivity of the molten salt
Try cooking an egg with the hot salt plate plsssss
If you fry an egg on cool down salt would you need to add salt on it after or not.
Can you try melting the salt and putting the ice in and covering the Crucible
Can u mix salt and aluminum and melt it with the metal foundry?
cool video, I wonder if it still tastes like salt :-) wonder what would happen if you put a vienna in that liqued salt. you can try to fry an egg on that salt layer in the pot.
In vacuum ,keep a feather and a small running electric fan. Will the feather move??
Please try it, i think
it will be interesting .
tech teacher there is no air to push
Jamie Knight ok
tech teacher how to power the fan?
Azure Griffin batteries
Hahaha! MAD Science !!!
Mad science. Happy scientist! .. hey, that sounds like a good t-shirt idea. Putting that on the list
It's an honour, Bro.

GG 👏👏😀
gg
Tablesalt is usually coated with chalk so it wont clump. I think the dark color comes from that?
