If you use a Game Genie code to control Mario during the title screen, getting to the end of the level just starts the next level as if you're actually playing the game.
I don't know why, but for some reason, these SMB1 hacks you play are somehow way more interesting and impressive than most of the SMW hacks I see so many other people playing. Maybe just because there's so much less to work with, but it's amazing when people do such creative stuff in the older game.
@@DoffysGlasses Personally I really dislike limitations and restrictions in my creative processes. I can't stand working that way. But some people thrive with limitations, and I really enjoy and appreciate the incredible stuff they do.
smw has been stagnated for a very long time, due to the big tools for it being 25 years old and closed source and incomptible with a lot of things and not having as well a supported a disassembly as other games people still do impressive things with it sometimes, but it's way more uphill
I'm honestly baffled by this comment. What SMW hacks did you see people play? I can recall so much good stuff where the creativity is off the charts. JUMP and JUMPhalf, Nonsense, ohm, Mario's Mystery Meat, Brutal Mario, Grand Poo World 3, Invictus, Luminous... Lots of stuff that quite honestly absolutely annihilates anything shown in this video. And the vanilla SMW hacks can be excellent too, just because they are closer to a normal Mario game doesn't mean they weren't made with care and polish.
@@pedroribeiro-kf3xu As the author of the hack in this vid itself, I actually agree. People simply don't know their existence, so they can only imagine it's stagnated. To be fair this hack of mine is only 7 nights' work, so it's fairer to compare Celeste Mario Z&D to those SMW hacks you mentioned. Supposedly still the SMW hacks would win in creativity. My own problem with SMW hacks is that they're usually relatively hard and linear, so not really my taste, and I can never get used to the game's controls.

Which code?
Lol😂
I LOVE ROMHACK Wednesday.

Interesting use of caps there
@keneo.7627 I TOTALLY agree.

It's always crazy seeing what sort of hacks people put together in such a quick period of time for game jams.

Restriction breeds creativity, I suppose. These SMB romhackers got some good ideas

Very cool! I love ROM hack Friday. :D
Had no idea I had some of these to catch up on! This fills me with joy. Long live Romhack Wednesdays!
with the screen scroll I can't help but think "scroll-accurate smb special remake"
or smb1 rotated 90 degrees clockwise
ROM HACK WEDNESDAY let’s gooo !
This will be my Christmas morning wake-up video :)
How do these people even mod super red luigi bros like this?

YAY! ROM Hack Wednesday!!
I have a question, what is the music in the first section. Sounds so familiar to me
0:16 Kraid and 2:43 Ridley from NES Metroid.
Very creative hack, Kosmic is the ultimate gaming explorer ⤴️
We missed so much Rom Hack Wednesdays!
Hopefully you'll try SMB1 homebrew game made for GBC.
The "Norfair" music is actually Ridley, Norfair is more relaxed.
Love when these videos drop!
yaaay love these! Thanks Kosmic.
Super fascinating romhack!!!!!
the moment you rotated the screen i was like "Bucky O'Hare magma tanker" :)
I'm sure you could make a whole video about all the most nothing-burger things that happen in SMB1 if you try and hack something in.
#MadRespectToTheseDevs!
Saw someone mention vvvvvv in the chat 7:48
music sounds like generated in TampleOS
But it's Friday. Still good to see this
Today is not Wednesday.
Such treats!
Fez next
Chat absolutely not recognizing Metroid music
Ok this was a cool video.
It's Saturday
epic poggers, as the cool kids say
The problem with ROM hacks like this is it’s essentially a puzzle game with a Mario skin.
problem? :trol:

its okay to not be smart.
this world is upside down anyways.
Why did I try to watch this high....
