It was an excellent movie. Certainly more spectacular and better effects than the original. But for me, nothing beats that original script. Back in the 80s (1984, to be exact) the effects were not nearly as advanced. Even the seven years (between T & T2) saw much evolution in the industry in that regard. The original really had to rely on story, plot twist, directing and acting. And all the actors and, of course, Cameron himself, we’re so much less established. They were hungry; they all had something to prove. There was just such a visceral, raw feeling to the entire effort. The Terminator, in my opinion, still remains, 40 years later, the best sci fi action horror of all time.
It’s pretty obvious it’s not Arnold in the scene where he picks up Edward Furlong from the dirt bike with his left arm. Still, I’m glad Arnold deferred to the stunt man. Motorcycles are dangerous, especially if you have to hold a prop like a shotgun.
I was in 5th grade when I saw the first "Teeyrminaytah".... Was terrified. I thought, it don't get WORSE than THAT. Then, I saw the sequel.... nightmare fuel. Now, TANK GAWD, I'm older, and totally appreciate the creativity, imagination and technology that drives me to therapy to this day. Bravo! 🍀☘️✌️
Sly never would've been able to play this role, but could've done anything he needed to with that Harley. The scene in Rambo First Blood where he escaped the police station on that motorcycle in 25° weather and wearing a muscle shirt, he rode the shit outta that thing in those scenes, something we don't see in action films anymore unfortunately, the actor actually doing the stunts. John Wick is the closest, supposedly they're gonna make a John Wick Origins Film. I hope they do.
Love James Cameron, but he’s notorious for putting actors in risky situations just to get a good shot. The cast of the Abyss had some true horror stories. Glad Arnold stood up and said no.
If you have seen the film, you already know this. Also, it's not new knowledge that stunt doubles are used in practical film making. All the new green screen CGI crap eliminated so much good film making. I for one appreciate real scenes filmed like the bike scenes in T2. Well done and 👏 bravo to the stunt man. Arnold gave us the Terminator character that we love, but the stunt men made the film great too. One of the best films ever.
I appreciate it when I actor does there own stunts and at the same time be honest and admit that they can’t do it. Even if they try they get a thumbs up from me.
Honestly the slower driving would've been better because of the terminators weight. It's like a 300plus pound robot. Idk I've just always found it funny a 300-400 pound metal robot can be agile
The reason why Arnold took it easy on the bike was because he was warned by Peter Kent prior to riding it. He said the bike had "a lot of balls" and "not to be afraid to know your limits" He was scared that Arnold would flip or wipe out and delay the shooting. Plus being a stunt double, Peter Kent could have done a backflip on the bike while shooting the shotgun T800 style. That is what he was there for and he did not want Arnold needlessly hurt for no reason other than to make the movie look better. He and Cameron came up with the idea to wear a prosthetic mask while he filmed the chase with the bike and Semi truck.
I was so caught up in the action and excitement the first time I saw this movie that I didn't notice the stuntmen until the fifth time I saw it. What I did notice the first time was when the T-1000 was holding onto the trunk of the car with his hooks after they rescued Sarah Connor. It was very obvious that it was a dummy but hilarious as well so it was easy to overlook.
I don’t know why I didn’t notice this but the bike would be the worst vehicle for the T-800 to choose. The rear suspension wouldn’t be able to handle his weight. It was said he could weight anywhere from 400-670 pounds. The max that bike could hold is about 500 pounds, but the suspension would be sagging way before that.
Did the stuntman win any awards? I feel like that was such an epic movie with great stunts, and if he was doing 80% of the riding sequences, the stuntman should have come away with some sort of film award.
movie shots where you see more american vehicles on road that is so rare now 0:21 to 0:26 with so many japanese or korean cars in past decades... nice chevy caprice color at 0:23
Its better just to admit to when you can't perform a stunt instead of commiting to more than you're used to and accidentally harming yourself or dying on set.
Of course, ARNIE IS THE BEST ON BODYBUILDER world. Trust me , I tried to be a biker, no luck, I was more on the ground than on the top of my Harley, no shame on that.
Not being rude but if you don't ride (and look at the size of the bike to) you ain't going to get it just l with a snap of your fingers . It took me a while to learn to drive a car , I can now drive fine and at work I drive 2 forklifts 1 is a counter balance and the other is a reach . It took time come on Rome was not built in a day . I bet if he was on the bike a whole week with the right trainer he would of been fine .

I love the relationship between Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Cameron ❤
I always love it when actors do their own stunts. Still, stuntman have all the knowledge and experience. It's best to let them do their jobs. LOL
Terminator says to John Connor: “get to da choppa!”
Tom cruise: hold my beer
Jackie Chan: hold my beer
Steve McQueen, take my scotch
I love the fun facts about Terminator 2 you can tell the cast and crew had a tremendous time filming together like one big happy family
Knowing your limits is far more commendable than the biggest stunts sometimes.
We underestimate the talented and gifted. They do get so much more on such higher levels.
Good for him instead of trying it and getting hurt
Intelligence trumps ego.
Trying to shoot a shotgun one handed while driving a freaking heavy chopper is an epic battle between balance and bravery.

It would've been funny to see him morph into Tom Cruise during the stunts and back to Arnold after
“Arnold, can you do that turn faster with the motorcycle?” Arnold: “Get in the Choppa!!”
"Get ON deh Choppa! You ride BITCH!"
When he jumps off the into the area chasing the truck you can clearly see it’s his stunt double.

Good for him. I drive a forklift now and my boss always tells me to drive faster even though it’s not safe.
I always thought his stunt man looked like Van Damme. 😂😂
Arnold had a gnarly accident on his motorcycle in the late 80’s and he had really been on one since then filming of T2.
Even Jackie Chan, the most daredevil of them all, used stunts for some scenes in his movies, and he was a badass stuntman himself.
