I just ordered my onewheel pint, I was a little nervous about buyer's remorse but then I realized how many free toothpicks I was getting with it so thank you for the video
I haven’t got my pint yet but I swear i watch your videos because it puts me in the same state as you riding the pint. I’m sure when I get it I’ll make the best use of your onewheeld knowledge :)
That crate hack is brilliant. As you were cutting with the handsaw, I was thinking, "Oh, I'll just use my Ryobi reciprocating saw instead." Then, you busted yours out! 😅
toss some of that 3m clear tape on the underside of the board to protect the brains and battery, I use 3m Carbon fibre tape, this way it scrapes and dings the tape and not the actual battery casing. also For long distance carry keep a strap in your backpack, you can feed it between the wheel axle and the frame, makes slinging over a shoulder super duper easy... Ive had to use this on 2 occasions when I was max range testing the battery.... longest ride i have made is 42 Km ( I weigh 173lbs ) due to hills and such, that is my longeest and most magical trail around here so far. the leash idea is a good one, I sometimes wish I had one to keep my board from rollig sideways down slopes.. its always fun to catch up too.. lol
You can use Bluetack to safely clean out your charge port. Get the "expensive" stuff (it's like 40cents more) and it works great. I use it regularly to clean out the port on my cellphone, clean out the speakers.. etc. The good brand stuff sticks really strongly to itself so it all comes out and doesn't leave residue or bits. Hope this helps! P.S. Incase it wasn't obvious, you knead the bluetack for a few seconds until it's sticky and mush it into the port and pull it out, and repeat. Use a big ball of it to clean it out well and knead between each use. It'll last a pretty long time! If you get any little bits stuck, just gently touch it with another piece and it will pull right off.
Thanks for tip #2. I used 3M Clear Paint Protect film on my Pint. It's the stuff that goes on the front of your car to protect it from road stones. Got a 12x72 inch roll for ~$35 from Amazon. I use able to cover everything below the deck plus side rails and still have a lot left over for two more Pints. Only used a 25" x 12" inch piece.
Dude... I've been considering how I could take a OneWheel on my motorcycle, and that milkcrate trick could work great! Strap the milkcrate down really well to my rack and then throw a bungee over the top of the Pint! Easy peasy and probably pretty stable too! I've been making a checklist/pro-con list for buying a Pint and a major point was transporting it on my motorcycle! Now I'm officially sold. I'm getting one.
I have been binging your Onewheel videos because I really wanna get a Pint. Your recommendation on getting one used is super helpful, I just searched FB for a Onewheel marketplace group and already have tons of options. Thanks for having such a great channeln
Excellent tips.....Helicopter tape. That rocks. Love that stuff. For those who are new to it, You can apply either straight on or wet and move it around to place it perfectly--and use it for the charge port too.
I have a tip. Never lean your Onewheel tire against drywall or anything else that can stick to the tire. I ripped a good chunk out of my wall doing this. That Vega tire is sticky as hell. Especially after it gets wet or moist or hot.
Jimmy, you could just print some stickers for the cards to fit into the open space. Also, three pieces of wood can be thrown together for a stand. Maybe a heavy bristled welcome mat for cleaning the wheel would be easier, as you could leave it outside by the garage and not really have to move it. Just a couple ideas that haven’t been tested, as I don’t yet have a onewheeel, but continue to look for a used one. Thanks and keep up the videos and I like your positive attitude.
Another great hack for the Onewheel. If you wear wrist guards get a Velcro watchband (maybe one size larger than you would normally wear) so you can slide your watch up on your arm above the wrist guard.
So now I gotta walk a Onewheel, take it to the bathroom frequently, and make a litter box mat for it in my mudroom... I got enough pets as it is! XD ;) Does it charge the onewheel when you tow it around like that? I would not think so if it has resistance when it's on, this would tell me that circuits have to be engaged for it to direct regen power to the battery.
Just discovered your channel today. Glad I did and I didn't mind your sponsor placement. You seem sincere in your videos so I don't think you'd endorse something you thought was not a good product.
I've turned down a lot of sponsors at this point. This one seemed like a good fit. I've been using them for several months now and I enjoy the service. Plus, the money helps to support the channel so I can keep making videos and do bigger and better things.
Hey thank you so much for your channel! You’ve seriously helped me so much on my quest to learn everything about a one wheel before I took the leap and ordered one!
I would suggest using GAFF tape if you don't want to buy sidekicks. Gaff tape is used in the film industry as a fix all. Since it's very sticky, yet doesn't leave a residue, it's great for sidekicks. I've used it and had it hold on for hundreds of miles.
Is it okay to keep the OW on its side like that in the crate? Saw others use the milk crate but with wide cuts to allow the board to sit "right side up" but your way is definitely better.
INSANELY GREAT VIDEO YOU MADE JIM 😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 I think by far this has to be your BEST VIDEO YET. The music score was spot on relaxing, your TOP 10 all made perfect sense and was extremely helpful and insightful, and finally your creativity and ideas is what keeps more and more new viewers to add to your subscription 👌
@@freshlycharged Your welcome....because it was honest. I think I am coming to my senses about the One Wheel. Hmmmm did I even say that ??? Hahahahahah Yeah I did.....good job Jim
I just accidentally discovered the leash reverse pulling thing at my daughter's soccer game last night. Sports complex wouldn't let me ride through gate. I used the handle of a shoulder bag I was carrying to loop around my onewheel to pull it till I figured out a similar angle and pull method. Coincidentally, it's been done. Kool. I lean my onewheel against the box it came in. Put all my accessories and replacement parts that are not being used inside. Gota save the box for shipping for repairs, sale, or vacation
Dude! Love the crate idea! I already have a crate on the back of my bike. Totally doing this to it. Then i will add a couple spring loaded doors for the openings that will make it whole again when the onewheel isn't in it. Thanks!
Awesome video. I like your sense of humor. ( first world problems) I like the nudging of the boatd to test whether it's on or not. I have done that already
Nice video.... for milk crate couldn’t you just set the onewheel on top so the wheel was inserted in the crate and the board resting on the edges of the milk crate??? No cutting?
umm if you don't mind the color change there are coatings that go on stairs or the stuff you dip your tools in to rubber coat them or flex seal all will protect your rails and it will be more permanent
Your videos are pretty awesome and I appreciate all the work that goes into them. Just got the XR and currently building a bridge out back to ride it across a gully. May be a bit too quick but you only live once. Cheers!
@@freshlycharged I am editing now and will upload by tonight! Thanks for the interest and motivation to ride sir. Keep up the great work with your videos, subbed!
I used #3 often as I didn't buy that stupid charge port on purchase.. Ended up ordering rail guards and the little plug down the road, and that helped get me through until then!
Great life Hacks Jimmy! One caveat, the car crate hack, the cut at the bottom, might scratch you rails, You should show how you padded them to prevent that. Keep post bro!
Helpful hacks. Thx. Question: When you attached the leash, the OW hung from the leash (center knot above the board). Maybe that would work better if the knot was under the float plate, with the nose resting on the leash. I think you might have more control. You would definitely have more lift. New video?
Xpel paint protection is great for protecting your side rails. Had mine installed by local detail shop for $25 from scraps they had and it looks great.
I’ve been doing construction work for 25 years and I got to tell you, you’re using that Sawz-all with a blade and backwards! Always put the blade with the teeth facing the open area of the guard!

Nice tips. Glad to see the onewheel leash getting some exposure. It's underappreciated, IMO.
Does it regen? Could you walk it for a recharge?
@@SB-xt5jk I'm not sure . I haven't done it more than a quick test. My guess would be no, the resistance would be too much to work well.
S B no it’s got too much resistance to push and balance so the regen isn’t dry practical.
I agree. Totally underrated and under appreciated 😁

I made something similar to the milk crate, except I used a solid crate and it catches the crap the tire picks up.
