Don't sweat hub centric wheels. In order for them to apply load to the centre bore of the hub they would need to be a much tighter fit. Like hammering them on. How your wheel attachs is threw the friction between where the wheel and the hub meet. It is clamped. So there isn't actually any side loading on the studs. If your lugs are loose allowing the wheel to flop around, this is when you will get side loading.
Dude, one word of advice, if you want that Ford to be a good and reliable daily driver, keep Pegg'n Legg'n away from it, sorry bud, I couldn't resist, stupid sense of humour. Keep up the great work. 🇬🇧
I had the 1986 which was the last year with the 3 in the tree You could drive all day in second gear. Love that old truck it was a torque monster. You know what's funny I ran my exhaust the exact same way.
I recently got a 87 f250 4x4 with the zf5 and the 300 and been doing the same sort of idea with it. Been a struggle with the old wiring I had to fix but she's loyal as fuck now
I just changed a U joint on a toyota. It had a fitting in 1 cap. Every other cap had grease in it after greasing it except the 1 cap that had the grease fitting. It went right into the cross and out to the rest of the caps.
First truck I drove and got my licenes on was a 1992 f150 standard cab regular box 300 straight 6 4 speed shitomatic engine was covered valve cover to oil pan in oil but there was so much built up caked oil it couldnt leak anymore and pan gaskit was legit getting pushed out between the block and oil pan great truck I miss it I wish my dad didnt sell it
To do the alignment would chaining the twin beams while the tires are on the ground so it doesn't droop, work?. Good job getting the old bugger back on the road.
I got myself a '94 300-6, 5 speed, 4X4. Needs a rad and waterpump right now. Gonna get it back on the road soon enough. It's got 2.73 open diffs, though. I'm not fond of the lincoln locker solution, and i want taller gears anyway, as i got this truck to be a bush beater. What's the best route to go? I know if i swap out the rear, i'll also have to swap the front diff
Simplest way to increase your gear would be taller tires. On the Interco Tire Size Change Gear Ratio Calculator going from a 29" to 33" at 2.73 would give you 2.4 gearing.
You can order a whole carrier unit from quick performance set up already for cheap. Not worth the pil or the time to make trips to napa to do otherwise. It might take a week to get to frostbackastan thought
Put a 2 barrel on it. Best thing you could do is ditch that crappy single barrel. And carry a duraspark box, voltage reg and fire extinguisher with ya!
when it gets too rotten to drive on public roads safely, I think we both know one oilpatch hillbilly with a nice ferd collection who will happily buy it from you :)
welding a axle diff is a bad idea tho they do work for a short time, the tires don't. so much for the dream of a Columbian bearing in the back of the tractors tiller, that junk blew out idling at 20hp... least the ford bearing the same size has a 650hp 5500lbft ratting, however the cast Nickle iron E6011 case welds last. clear cut another 10 square miles over 60 years, the next guys problem... if the basdurd ever shows up.
1:12 It needs nothing to be eh Daimler driver in other words 5:19 I blame Gen x for our cancelled culture… yup… all about safety today fk them, if you’re following too close when one my weather check tires comes apart that’s on you. If u got insurance then why you crying?
When the last LS blows up it will be a 300 six hauling it to the scrap yard
LS will never die!

Yea ls are for bums

1/2 gallon of antifreeze in it, 2 quarts of watered down oil and still happy to do it.
I'd take fixing an old truck over buying one of those awful plastic 90k things they have now... 😂😂😂 Also love the content!!!! 💪💪💪

Between you and Peg, there's like an old ford pickup black hole I reckon like 300-400 mile radius. They just gravitate to you both.

That acceleration test! *Laughs in Robot Cantina*
Can’t beat the NA 300 6! Makes you wonder, how many vehicles have been written off when all it needed was a little elbow grease in the carb?
Don’t mind me just taking a piss in the middle of giving commentary 🤣
Love that Meat Grinder chain drive 🤘😎🤘🍺🍺🍺🍺

1987-1991 Fords you just open and remove glove box to get to the heater core.
80-86 with factory AC you do as well. Factory heat only the core is mounted in the heater box.

Fukin Mint!

I’ve never seen a 300 die. I’ve seen the trucks they were in literally disintegrate around them but they’d still run and move.
