    Put a rag on end of a 2x4 and wedge between seat and edge of dash on that bottom lip for anyone that may be planning on it. It is what I'm planning to do. Thank you for posting this.

    Looks good, and easier than what I did if you remember. I bought an original dash from a suburban that had been put up for years and brought home and replaced mine in Blue. I got maybe 4 or 5 good years but now it's got a crack through the speaker grill. As you said it's better than it was and I lived with that previous mess for almost 9 years.

      @primeredisbest  5 років тому

      Well to be honest I am not smart enough to replace the whole dash so this was my only option for me. I guess we will see now how long this will last. Thanks buddy.

    I know this video is a few mos old but just wanted to say I think you did a great job on installation and a great job filming, explaining and product review in a DIY video. Only thing I noticed was you kept saying in your replies to comments and even in your video you could've done better...don't think like that, bud. You did great and I hope you come to see that. I'm right there with ya, I always think I could've done better, been better...but I'm guessing this is your first CoverLay dash skin installation, and you still executed it like a professional! That's something to be proud of. You rocked it and that rocks! You rock! Everytime you look at your dash, I hope you inhale deeply and beam a huge smile as you exhale, thinking, yeah...I did that! When you do, reach over, give your wife's leg a squeeze and tell her you love her and when she smiles at you saying she loves you too, she's gonna be thinking, damn- I'm one of the lucky ones. Got me a good, strong man who can and does take care of me n loves me. N cruise into the sunset, full of pride, love and many blessings...cuz that's what it's all about. God Bless you n yours.

    That turned out pretty good! If you can get some silicone under that piece, you may be able to prop something from the seat to it to hold pressure. Like an axe handle with something soft on the ends to prevent scratches, maybe? Of course, my ideas are known to work better in my head than in the real world, so... attempt at your own risk! haha!!

    • @primeredisbest
      @primeredisbest  5 років тому +1

      Thanks for the suggestion. I might try that. My ideas are like that as well. Work in my head but not so much when I actually apply it to the problem. Lol

      You are very welcome. I wish I could have done better but I was very nervous. If I could do over I would have applied a little more of the silicone. But it is what it is and I am happy with it. Thanks again.

      If I remember, we called Coverlay and told them what year C10 we had and they sent us the right color. But ours did look more maroon than red. Hope this helps you my friend! Thanks buddy!

    Where did this cover come from? There is more than one manufacturer and they do not all fit as well as this one appears to. How does it look from looking through the front window by the VIN plate?

      I got the dash cover on my truck from COVERLAY Dash Covers. It looks good to me! Results may vary though. But the dash looks much better than it did before I installed it. I am happy with it! The phone number for COVERLAY is: 1-800-633-7090. Give them a call if you are interested in fixing your dash. Thanks for your interest! I have done this on several of my trucks! Please subscribe to my channel as I plan on doing another truck I have soon. Thank you!

    Do you have to remove the vents or the metal piece on the passenger side or just put it over everything?

    • @primeredisbest
      @primeredisbest  3 роки тому

      Hello Robert! No sir, I did not remove anything like that. All I done was make my dash as flat as possible. I test fitted the dash cover many times and when I felt good about the fit, I used the silicone that COVERLAY provided in the box. I hope that I answered your question satisfactory. Let me know if I can help you by answering questions. Thanks buddy and good luck to you!

    Is it ok to use glue instead of silicone

    • @primeredisbest
      @primeredisbest  4 роки тому

      Thanks a very good question that I cannot answer. I would probably use what Coverlay recommends and that would be Silicone. Good luck my friend!

      Primered is best As you know my friend we leave in Middle East ( kuwait ) and the temperature in the shad is over (50’s c) ,,,,, but I might go with silicone, Can you send the silicon band name couse i am going to ASE hardware to get it
      Thanks my friend

      @@aladwanit Well my friend I used whatever came with my COVERLAY DASH COVER. I don't know what brand name the Silicone was included in the kit that I bought. But if you will buy a name brand Silicone such as 3M brand or any other name brand, then it should work out fine! I hope that everything goes smoothly for you! Sorry that I can't remember what name it was. I hope that I was if some help to you! Thanks my friend!

      Well to be honest with you, it done very well. But I want you to know that I always kept my trucks in a garage. So they very seldom were in the sunshine or other things like that. I have since sold that truck a few months ago and it still looked great! I would do it again! Just a word of advice to you, do not put any silicone anyplace that they do not mention in the instructions. My friend put some in a couple of places towards the center of his Coverlay dash and when it dried, it left a couple of bumps and it was noticeable. Good luck you my friend! Let me know how it turns out ok? Thanks!

    Why not buy a new dash it’s easier to replace

    • @primeredisbest
      @primeredisbest  Рік тому

      That's a good question! A new dash is very expensive to purchase. Coverlay gave me this one for free to show others how easy and good it looks on my truck. Thanks!
