Instead of using silicone adhesive on the dash , i would recommend high strength Velcro for access to speakers just in case.
Our dashes can be removed using a blow dryer or heat gun where the silicone adhesive will heat up and then release in the event you need to remove and access the speakers underneath.

Yeah on my 92 Silverado ext cab, it has same problem with the Dashboard cracking into a million pieces, but my 95 Silverado dashboard is still intact 24 years later go figure.
Guys after you get it home take it out the box and cut your hole for your speakers, and for the defrost vent get a peace of window screen and glue it on. There is more ways to skin a cat.
Man take my money! I have the same interior color on my Sierra pickup. The door panels looks nice but sorta look factory'ish.

This particular dash cover does comes with an optional mesh screen that covers up the defroster vent. Call 1-800-633-7090 when ordering your 18-606 dash cover and request that the screen be installed. This particular dash cover does cover the speakers on the dashboard. If there is ever a need to remove your dash cover to replace your speakers we can warranty out the cover and send you a new one.

The one you guys offer now is totally different. It covers the dash vent but keeps the speaker grill exposed and doesn't even come with the 2nd piece for the cluster.
@@oreocreaming2 The one in the video is the updated one with an opening for the defroster that we can put screen on if you like and the cover has perforated holes for the speaker. Any solution for broken grill vents for defroster
Unfortunately this specific dash cover does not cover the defroster vents. We do however offer a mesh material that we attach to our dash cover that can cover the unsightly appearance of the broken vent. Give us a call at 1-800-633-7090 if you have any questions about the vent mesh.
Is the instrument cluster cover the rubber material like the original or is it plastic
It is made of textured ABS plastic. Hard plastic, not a rubber feel.
How are u supposed to replace the speakers ?
Unfortunately on most dashboards the access to the speakers would be restricted by our dash covers once applied.

Replace the speakers before you isntall this dude common sense a good set of speakers should last 20+ years just like the original speakers lasted
Replace them beforehand, or put them in the door .
Hopefully you never have to replace your speakers or you'll have to rip that dash up. This feels like a great idea to a point but not a completed product. The heater vent also still looks like crap.
You can use a heat gun or hot hair dryer to soften the silicone adhesive and take the dash cover off. If it is damaged during the process, we will warranty it for you.
So if you can heat it up with a hairdryer to remove it then it probably going to come apart in the Texas heat. So maybe velcro it.

Why do all that work and not replace the vents on the dashboard overlay.

What happens when you need to replace a speaker
You can remove the dash cover by heating it up with a heat gun or blow dryer. This will soften the silicone adhesive where the cover can be taken off. If the cover is damaged during this process, we will warranty the dash cover for you.
Since it’s one piece and has to be glued in how would you change the dash speakers in the future if need be

I would recommend calling our Customer Care department at 1-800-633-7090 and speaking with us. Also you can send pics of what you do have to our customerservice@coverlaymfg.com email and we can do our best to assist you. Often times we don't need the entire dash to attach our cover to, but it's best if we see what you are starting with.
You can't replace a bad speaker now
You can replace a bad speaker. Simply use a heat gun or hair dryer to loosen the silicone under the cover and gently peel to remove. If the cover is damaged during this process just contact us and let us know what happened and we can warranty the part out for you and send you a replacement.

why is the title 90-94 when 88-89 uses the same dash

The dash is the same but the door panels are not. This video was for the "combo kit" for those years which has door panels and the dash cover.
and now the only way to change those dash speakers would be to cut them out... wtf.

So, after installing the Dash cover... Try to replace the speakers... Is there no other solution to repair or replacing the dash? Come on people, these Chevy's is loved, everyone customise the out side and dropping the suspension and so forth... Are there nothing proper for the inside?
All we offer are the ABS hard plastic covers. If you need to work on the speakers after the Coverlay® dash cover is installed, it can be removed by heating the dash cover such as with a blow dryer and then removing. If damage occurs during the removal, we will warranty the dash cover for the purchaser.

Looks like you better replace your speakers before you do this because this Coverlay dash piece has no provision for accessing the speakers ever again :(
We do have that concern come up from time to time. If you do need to access the speakers after installing our dash cover, it can be removed with a hair dryer where the dash can be heated to the point that the silicone adhesive will release. If the dash cover cannot be cleaned and reinstalled, we will warranty that cover for the owner.

Yes the GM ones were not very sturdy. Our ABS plastic full replacement panels are durable and meant to last a lifetime.

One thing we didn't have in the video, we offer a mesh covering for that area if the customer request it - there is a nominal fee for the added mesh covering.

If you purchased a Coverlay® brand dash cover, we will warranty the dash cover if you have to remove it to work on your speakers - and it becomes damaged in the process. Some of our customers have used a blow dryer or heat gun to remove the dash cover if needed.
