I’ve had a square body for two years and haven’t touched it and just watching you take your time and get such a great result makes me want to start tinkering with the ol thing! Great video thanks for giving me that push I’ve been needing to get out there and get stuff done!

I have to do the same thing but I got to use a 225 Lincoln with a 1.16 rod. Wish me luck. Very informative video
Good luck, if you can lap everything with no gaps. Have a better result.
Im going through this with an 84 gmc s15. Its alot of work.
YES, Its a lot of work, But worth it
definitely going to do this myself thanks for all the info 👍🏻
Glad to help, wishing you all the best
Good work sir!
Thank you kindly! Have a great day
Hi, nice video, you were right it is a lot of work. I did the drivers side on a 70 GMC cab. I turned off the lights last night and put a bright work light under the floor. I saw some pin holes where light could come through, I zapped them and ground them and zapped them and ground them. How to you finish off the butt welds to seal them up? I am thinking primer and primer and maybe seam sealer and then undercoating on the bottom. I think I got all the pin holes but I want it sealed up nice and tight. Thanks
I used paintable silicone sealer in a tube from Lowes worked awesome
Shoot just drill a 1" hole then put in a plastic plug. The next guy will appreciate access to the cab bolt.
Not a bad idea
“More work than expected” boy he hit the nail on the head there im half way thru it and said no more rust projects im done with this bs
LOL, IT GETS BETTER
GREAT VIDEO

Glad you enjoyed it. Have a great day
Great video.
Thank you very much. Have a great week 👍
My 66 C10 is solid for the most part but then there is a few pits that have gone all the way through. I se daylight. Should I tear this apart or treat the supports. They are also rock solid.
I could tear the pan out and just do it but it looks very involved.
I don’t own a welder but after watching you master this I feel like I want to do some. Maybe just the rockers. Love your videos.
You can do it, Wishing you all the best
At work we grind the spot welds down and it makes it way easier to peel it up
It was so rusted I could not yell where the spot welds were, do you have a technique how to find them when they are terribly rusted and pitted?
How much amps did you weld at
I don't remember LOL, sorry
where do you have your ground cable connected when youre putting in the tacks?
I ground a spot on the cab mounting bracket on the driver side. i tried a couple other spots but they didn't want to work. the brace that the cab nut is inside of. Hope this helps have a great weekend
@@unclebucksgarage7695 thank you
Put pb blaster in there
LOL Did not have any at the time
Where do you get the cab/floor support that the cab mount connects? Looks brand new
cleaned and painted it. but if you need one LMC carries them. have a great weekend
Can you give me advise on what do I need to replace my floor pans ,on a 1980 C10. The Driver and passenger side needs replacing. I need to get to the original body mounts and replace while I'm there. please advise on the welder i need. She's my Darling had many years and she's been faithful.😊
the welder in the links on this video is the exact one that i have a nd used. Wishing you all the best
So the only issue I seen is that you didn't replace the 16 gauge plate that's welded to the floor support the floor brace then that ties all those together and then the floor pan goes down over it
I will do better
In what way did water get into the cab to rust out your floors? How did you go about fixing the "leak"?
My floors are somewhat rotten as well not sure how they get wet.
Leaking from the heater core when they go bad its on that side of the cab
@@grantslater2485 Thanks I should have guessed that. I found out my issue is the caulking in the cowl vent is rotted and alowing water to seep into the cab.
Well that good news that you found it. Wishing you all the best for the future
WD 40 is not a real penetrating oil it is nothing more than deodoried kerosine and it evaporates fairly quickly ,there will most certainly be nothing left behind after a month! You should get a real penetrating oil to do the lubricating of rusty bolts!
Thank You, Have a great week!
Could you shake that anymore.
Lol
YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN IT BEFORE I TRIED TO FIX IT
Just coat the bolt with some moly. She’ll be ready when you want her out.
thanks
Where did you order the pans from?
LMC Truck
Great! That’s exactly what I was hoping! Thanks!
Happy to help. Wishing you all the best for the future
Thank you!! You too!!
WELCOME
Maybe you should shake the camera around more.
LOL, thanks for watching
Camerawork made me sea sick.
