AEW fans will literally beg you to "just stop watching if you don't like it". They don't understand that the whole point is to maximize the amount of people watching and money being spent.
Which is ironic because they have suffered the "No Milly" meme for a year and don't understand their own gaslighting and gatekeeping have been what has also hurt the product. I got sick of their stans myself. They were a major factor that caused me to quit supporting AEW financially.
No they want people to stop watching if all you're going to do is bitch. That's like watching a Taylor Swift concert so you can shit on it. It's just pathetic and why would you waste your time watching something you don't enjoy?
I will start with this. I have been an avid fan/watcher of AEW from the beginning. I wanted to see them succeed for various reasons and tried to be loyal. I was surprised when Cody left because it was his baby. Then the Punk fight happened and I was amazed that a billionaire didn't fire EVPs who got in a fight with talent. Then Punk came back and the whole "I was scared for my life" bs happened. Now I see the Bucks and Hangman Page and have zero respect for them as people. Now I have moved from thinking TK is a fan and had a vision to the point where I think he needs adult supervision. I have reached the point that when i hear TK, I have the same "dont give a f" reaction that i used to get when Dixie Carter was killing TNA. With all the senior talent backstage, all the wisdom held by the Jake the Snake, Malenko, Dustin Rhodes, Arn and Tully, Billy Gunn, Punk when he was there, FTR and you have these kids who refuse to listen and an owner who is taking advice from Indie guys, its a lost battle. I can't wait to see how Jack Perry will be received and booked upon his return.
I will never know outside of Corny's podcast. I put Jungle Dumbfuck on my blacklist since Wembley and costing the company the top star (despite what I may feel personally about Punk, he was). I am taking a break from AEW after this God awful week.
This is one of those matches where if I’m a TV exec looking at whether to give this company a rights increase or possible new tv deal and I saw this match, I would make like a kid near a sex offender’s house and stay the F far away.
Matches like this are a prime example why Tony Khan will never be able to beat WWE in the battle for mainstream wrestling audiences... normal people don't watch a guy swallow another dude's blood and say "yeah, no THAT is some pro wrestling I like!" 😂
Beat? SMH. Tony couldn't even find the city where they're holding the race if you gave him a Garmin. this match didn't deserve a 30 min review. It was ridiculous and disgusting, and I side eye any man who was into this.
As a female wrestling fan, well, AEW lost me a few years ago, but if they still did have me somehow, yeah, that spot they would have lost me at. So, Jim, I think you are spot on with that comment. 😉
I have a 8 inch scar on my arm from a dog taking off and pulling my arm through a barbwire fence. Its happened in less than a second and I barely touched the fence but it was a enough. Its why whenever I see all these idiots using "barbwire" and barely getting a scratch I know its BS from those who have no real idea.
So as one of those lady wrestling fans Jim is so correct: I was so grossed out by the drinking of the blood I was out; I just kept thinking “that dude is going to have to be tested for blood borne pathogens for the rest of his life” 🤮
Hearing everything about AEW, I understand why Vince McMahon yells at everyone to get it right. He straightened out the commentators Restricted certain words you can't say He finalized scripts and segments. These little things are what Triple H and the others heads will consider but with their style.
I think Vince went over the top with it (I mean not saying "hospital" isn't going to make a difference), but Tony is overcorrecting by seemingly letting everyone do what they want in promos and matches.
Same! I was very into CZW and deathmatches like 15+ years ago, but then i grew up, and the longer i watched wrestling and got in the business myself and learned what psychology was. These fucks never mentally matured past that point

This match was gory, I know some people are going to eat it up, but this is on my 'yea no' list from just reading descriptions for some of the spots they did. You have to wonder if this is the result of so many death matches leaving only this level of career damaging stunts.
nah, simply because compared to modern deathmatches this was very tame. and most fans don’t watch deathmatches anyway, so whatever they do stays underground for the most part. this match, while granted was inspired by deathmatches, is much more a result of a generation of marks who grew up on video games, shoot interviews that made them delusional about how the business worked, and online forums which reinforced their delusions. they’re not doing this cus there’s nothing left - they don’t think of it that way. they’re doing it cus they think it’s cool. point blank. they say “wouldn’t it be cool if…” and then they do it.
Although I usually don't agree with Jim's pov on AEW,when I watched this match it literally made me ashamed to be a fan of wrestling. This hasta be the most embarrassing match I've ever seen. And I've been a wrestling fan since the territory days.
I absolutely hate Page. But I always enjoy his death matches. I wouldn’t want deathmatches on tv every week or every ppv, but I love them occasionally. I enjoyed this one thoroughly. My only exception is I hate Page so much I would like to watch him do it every day.
100% agree. This is hurting not only AEW but wrestling as a whole. Escalation has destroyed the impact of moves, matches, and stories. This match was AEW hitting rock bottom to me.
Exactly. The WWE has done everything in their power to try to break the perception that wrestling is for hicks and bloodthirsty maniacs. TMZ ran an article on it. Normal people don't want to see this shit.
@@lovelyminx6444oh fuck off, there was no need to go as far as they did, especially for a fake sport. Keep driving the casual fans away that will maybe give your attendance and ratings a boost. @@EliC09 that’s terrible Pockets isn’t a draw at all and caters to fat indie marks who watch chocopro on UA-cam and GCW. Jacob's debuted a new stable that had Seth Rollins in it and they attacked the Briscoes busting Jay wide open. They then hung him up by his feet from the ceiling just a couple feet above Jacob's who was wearing a white suit and cut a promo as Jay bled all over him and the suit. He didn't drink blood but yeah...
@@horncrownedproductions9675and that worked for jimmy at the time because he was an emo character who would do something like that. hangman doing something like that doesn’t make any sense whatsoever
@@horncrownedproductions9675 Yes he did, he looked up and caught some of the blood in his mouth as well.
@@horncrownedproductions9675Age of the Fall was awesome.

The third match will be a simple, normal match 😂 that's Tony's style.
AEW fans will literally beg you to "just stop watching if you don't like it". They don't understand that the whole point is to maximize the amount of people watching and money being spent.
And then they wonder why less people are watching them.
Steamboat was put out for months because the Macho Man hit him with a ring bell.
Its not the 80s anymore.
But you're right this match shortened these twos life 100%
I will start with this.
Totally agree with you. It's really sad that AEW is another failed promotion that had so much potential 😔😔
Jack Perry should be working at a Gas Station
I'm convinced that Dixie Carter was a much better businesswoman and CEO than Tony Khan is.
I will never know outside of Corny's podcast. I put Jungle Dumbfuck on my blacklist since Wembley and costing the company the top star (despite what I may feel personally about Punk, he was).
I am taking a break from AEW after this God awful week.

It was gay masochist fetish porn pretending to be pro wrestling.
too bad it wasn't on TV

Yeah, Tony DEFINITELY paid Meltzer to make him Booker of the Year!🤣

So as one of those lady wrestling fans Jim is so correct: I was so grossed out by the drinking of the blood I was out; I just kept thinking “that dude is going to have to be tested for blood borne pathogens for the rest of his life” 🤮
Brian Last: “I love the Mets!”
Jim Cornette: “Who are two crummy teams?”
Brian Last:
You know what they say "Drink the blood, jump the shark". Too much for me. Stupid. Hey, what do I know I'm an ECW head.
This is the one we’ve been waiting for.
Hearing everything about AEW, I understand why Vince McMahon yells at everyone to get it right.
He straightened out the commentators
Restricted certain words you can't say
He finalized scripts and segments.
These little things are what Triple H and the others heads will consider but with their style.
I think Vince went over the top with it (I mean not saying "hospital" isn't going to make a difference), but Tony is overcorrecting by seemingly letting everyone do what they want in promos and matches.
I don’t consider myself a casual wrestling fan by any means. But this match grossed me the fuck out. And I’m not a squeamish person.
It’s disgusting. It’s fetish gay porn.
The AEW nerds were proclaiming this match to be the greatest death match of all time afterward. I shit you not.
I remember going banana for these types of matches when i was a teenager. But it's not 2006 anymore.
Same! I was very into CZW and deathmatches like 15+ years ago, but then i grew up, and the longer i watched wrestling and got in the business myself and learned what psychology was. These fucks never mentally matured past that point
Yeah definitely got into it in the early 00s after reading Foley's book. But after a while you A) Get desensitized to the violence, so everytime the violence and the gore are less impactful until you get bored with it, B) Realize not everyone is Mick Foley.

I love Brian referencing the message by Grandmaster Flash
U didn't watch it tho right?

You know Moxley is foaming at the mouth to try and top that match lol
Well at least nobody removed an eye that was medically reattached. It’s just not believable.

There have been many close calls in that company long before this. They will never learn until they get a lawsuit.
You're not alone. I legitimately believe someone in AEW is going to end up dead if they keep pushing the envelope on those spots. Safety is clearly not a priority over there.
They’re really trying to make Swerve happen. TK will NEVER put the belt on him.
TK will do whatever is needed to stay afloat. Guaranteed if swerve gets hot he take the title off mjf or they’ll give him that lame duck ass triple champion tournament shit
Tony is gonna give the belt to another indie vanilla midget who’s probably a twink. Tony loves his twinks, especially if they are white. Tony would book a broken down Ibushi or God forbid Nick Wayne to beat Powerhouse Hobbs convincingly on a random Dynamite and dubbalos will defend it to the death.

@@EliC09 that’s terrible Pockets isn’t a draw at all and caters to fat indie marks who watch chocopro on UA-cam and GCW.
