This match currently has a 9.65/10 rating on cagematch. More than enough evidence of what the people on that site like. Stil though even dustin rhodes and mjf were saying this match was amazing. Parts of it were good I suppose but all the self indulgent death match nonsense wil never not be unnecessary and pointless.
MJF has lost all credibility. Great talent but has ruined his heel persona and looks like a fucking goof on a weekly basis with this absolutely rotten "booking"
21:53 : EXACTLY what I have been saying for a while now! No ine remembers this crap when it is over! No storylines, no rhyme or reason...yet they wonder why their attendance and ratings are crap and get worse by the week!
The fans saying this match was great just don’t get it. I’m all for brutal matches but drinking someone’s blood is just too far and makes your company look like a joke. If they want the company to stay the same with the same 800k viewers every week then they can keep doing this crap.
It's because the AEW stans are all mentally ill morons, stans or CZW diehards. Their fanbase has been a large factor why I no longer casually watch AEW.
So this storyline recap. Swerve tells page if he had the opportunities that page had from being friends with the elite he would have been champion by now. Runs page down in the promo then proceeds to win the first match. Then he goes on to break into his home and throw merch on his baby and still loses to go up 2-0 so there is no point in a rubber match. And to top it off he beat a guys who’s character is being a hangman/cowboy in a Texas death match by hanging him 😂
Followed up probably by Hang Ma'am whining about losing, having a dark cloud over his head, followed by alcohol and signing over his kid to Swerve to be the new daddy. Cuckolding at its finest. The AEW Stans will love it.
I heard Moxley was livid backstage after this match, stomping around saying "Gotdammit, drinking blood is my gotdamned gimmick!!" Problem is that they went full ECW. You NEVER go full ECW......
I didn't watch the match but I knew once I seen indie marks on Twitter saying it was "top 5 hard-core matches of all time" that it was in fact the opposite of good
As a kid who grew up in the Northeast and was a highly impressionable tween during the original run ECW, even I was like, this is gross and also sucks.
The closest thing I can think of on what Jim was taking about at the end of the video would be KOTR 98 where Austin had to follow the HIAC match. Which to be fair had 2 main event guys in it.
Oh I officially quit anything AEW after this. I have a 7 year old nephew who loves wrestling, and I have to explain to him he can't watch aew anymore. I'm not letting him see death matches.
That's sad but true. TK had a chance to deliver but he keeps booking for the deathmatch, mudshow, indy marks. That's why Dynamite hasn't touched a million viewers since February.
When AEW started, people were excited for a WWE competitor, in no time at all, it showed its true colors of being yet another indy death match garbage promotion.
Alvarez over at the WO podcast said this match was the "most gruesome" bout he's ever seen. Personally, I stopped casually viewing AEW before Punk was fired. I suppose next we'll go back to exploding rings, along with gasoline fires lighted in the corners with an electrified barbed cage that shoots sparks when touched. But before all that, we'll see Moxley's Lumberjack Tool Box match with hacksaws, power drills and pickaxes. Oh my gawd, the buckets of blood. . .
Me when this match announced: Tony and the Elite would be stupid and tone deaf enough to have the same finish as the last Texas Death Match with Page going over. Me after reading the results: Ok, who told them to swap the finish? The last few stunts in this company tells me that they had to get convinced to swap the finish.
I agree with Cornette. The match was just stupid. I don't believe Death match wrestling should take place on a normal wrestling card, should just be on deatchmatch specific shows.
It's things like this that make me think Vince not wanting WWE to be associated with the pro wrestling business was actually a good decision. If this is what AEW's sports based pro wrestling has become.
Six years ago I'd have felt bad about Adam Page being buried like this. I'd either be angry at the booker or eager to see him FINALLY get his revenge...but I largely gave up on Adam Page after that super kick no selling spot monkey match with Adam Cole. He doesn't care about wrestling psychology anymore so let him get buried.
But that's the thing. He doesn't HAVE to watch aew. He comes to it from a place of hate. He will never be converted no matter what they do. He mocks the ppv names mocks the wrestlers names and on and on. The best critique he could give of AEW would be to stop watching. But that wouldn't make him any money I guess.
I was waiting for this one right here. Seriously. How do some people enjoy this and think this is wrestling. Swerve is great but to put him in this crap is just not it!
"Hucklebuck Rules" is probably going to replace AEW one day. I do not know what Tony is doing, and I already hear the chorus of "well, so and so did it 25 years ago", but context, eras, and common sense do not make what one place or person did a good idea for this company now.
Jim, you've got a point about the KIA Forum... BOTH the Rams and the Chargers play RIGHT NEXT DOOR!!! ...and Dodge has never even entertained the thought... SMH
I have to say being a fan of death match wrestling, this match definitely had a lot of pointless spots that made no sense. If I wanted to see violence with no context I’ll look up CZW.
AEW reminds me of a quote from a character on the old tv show “Malcom In The Middle”.
“I expect nothing, and I’m still let down”.
This match brings a whole new meaning to the word cringe worthy.

I swear to god when nana saved swerve and revived him with his dance to get swerve head back in the game i died laughing
21:41 I have to disagree on that one, the worst injuries happen over the small stuff, that's the amazing thing about AEW, all the stupid dangerous stuff and they no sell it, jumping off the ramp running to the ring breaks ankles
He said Super Humman is Wheeler Yuta's brother!! 😂😂😂😂😂
"They've done everything except jam a hand grenade up a guy's ass and pulled the pin' 😂😂😂💀
Don't give them any ideas!!
Page wouldn't go for it. That's where he keeps his gerbil.
Maybe they could have used the wooo energy during the match
I can't believe Warner Bros Discovery didn't pull Collision or Rampage after Tony fired "One Bill Phil"
Give it time.
Well... Jim NEVER disappoints lol
I thought that why his wife fucked other guys? He’s a disappointment
Watch jeff jarrett instead he's a professional
This match currently has a 9.65/10 rating on cagematch. More than enough evidence of what the people on that site like. Stil though even dustin rhodes and mjf were saying this match was amazing. Parts of it were good I suppose but all the self indulgent death match nonsense wil never not be unnecessary and pointless.
And it went on forever....
It might have been kinda cool if they wrapped it up 15 minutes earlier.
Yeah 20 minutes, 25 minutes would have been long enough. @@alexandertroy9621
NOOOOOOH Saint MJF couldn't liked that match!!!
MJF has lost all credibility. Great talent but has ruined his heel persona and looks like a fucking goof on a weekly basis with this absolutely rotten "booking"
It was good tbh. Blood spot was unnecessary though
Was just thinking about his opinion on this mess this morning, and this happens. Dream come true😂
Got nothing else to wake up to besides wrestling and jim cornette?
@@alwaysnmymind4705yo mommas juicy fanny 😋🤣
@@anfeariontach OH cool how original 🙄
Before Jim started mentioning the AEW PPV it sounded like he’s living a pretty peaceful life after all these years in wrestling promotions
The fact people this this is a MOTY contender is beyond me. AEW fans are mentally unstable.
There just stupid as there heros.
If that's mentally unstable to you, i'd hate to see what you're like in real life. yikes.
21:53 : EXACTLY what I have been saying for a while now! No ine remembers this crap when it is over! No storylines, no rhyme or reason...yet they wonder why their attendance and ratings are crap and get worse by the week!
I'm actually trying to forget this. I think this was so far beyond they actually will remember it.
Who’s here that can’t wait for the lights out steel cage match review from yesterday at all out? 😊
How the hell does Brian Cage still have a job in AEW
I loved Cornette's "stick a grenade up the guy's ass and pull the pin" reference! couldn't stop laughing
What happened to Tony's list of things no longer allowed in a match? The program has gotten even more extreme and bloody violent.
That whole match was gross 🤮
"I would watch AEW but I don't want to ruin my day" is a fantastic summary of their product right now 😂
Me: Do I want to listen to this now or after going out to buy then making popcorn?
Immediate Gratification: NOW!
13:53 that’s the point, Brian. This buried Page and I don’t have a problem with that after Page went into business for himself.
"Analy protruded up to his tonsils." DAMN!!!
I heard Moxley was livid backstage after this match, stomping around saying "Gotdammit, drinking blood is my gotdamned gimmick!!"
Problem is that they went full ECW. You NEVER go full ECW......
I could totally believe that.
I read that Moxley Plumbing "quote" in Brian Last's Moxley impression.
"That's DOPE..."
Dude that was not like the ECW i grew up watching 🤣
Don't rope ECW into this
I didn't watch the match but I knew once I seen indie marks on Twitter saying it was "top 5 hard-core matches of all time" that it was in fact the opposite of good
"Hucklebuck's rules" LOL!!
So what's worse, doing some coke on air or drinking someone else's blood on air? I think the coke spot was actually somehow less offensive.
23:02 Greatest Phone Call Moment Ever🤣🤣🤣
I laughed so hard I almost gave myself a hernia.
@@hgriff14I Almost Choked On My Coffee😂
I think Corny needs to change Hangman's nickname from Hangnail to Hepatitis Page after that match.
The amount of AEW marks that said this was the best match on the card kinda just tells me all i need to know about who watches AEW.
I saw people comparing it to Cactus vs Funk. Jesus Christ.
I was there that night and the only things I remember from that first blood match were Kane's entrance and Mankind coming out for interference.
3:53 "the bank-addicted drug robber" sounds like a good gimmick
The very definition of outlaw mudshow bullshit
Tony Kahn watches these clips and books accordingly.
Oh I officially quit anything AEW after this.
I have a 7 year old nephew who loves wrestling, and I have to explain to him he can't watch aew anymore. I'm not letting him see death matches.
thats a good uncle
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Coddling your kids from the real world will never have good consequences, get some them snowflakes while ur at it
WWE will never have true competition
That's sad but true. TK had a chance to deliver but he keeps booking for the deathmatch, mudshow, indy marks. That's why Dynamite hasn't touched a million viewers since February.
When AEW started, people were excited for a WWE competitor, in no time at all, it showed its true colors of being yet another indy death match garbage promotion.
Interesting how Nigel McGuinness went quiet on commentary during the blood drinking...
Oh my gawd, the buckets of blood. . .
Of course Brian "I know and wrestle better than Austin Theory" Alvarez would say something that stupid.
"Most gruesome"?? In a world where the Sabu vs Terry Funk barbed wire match happened?? Give me a break Alvarez!
The match was a 1970s "Grindhouse" snuff film. Tony Khan's plan all along, "Faces of AEW IV with Dr. James E. Cornette".
That spot had Abdullah the Butcher shakin his head
It's things like this that make me think Vince not wanting WWE to be associated with the pro wrestling business was actually a good decision. If this is what AEW's sports based pro wrestling has become.
OK the comment about holding the baby up so it could urinate on Swerve has made me a Brian Last fan for life 😊
Six years ago I'd have felt bad about Adam Page being buried like this. I'd either be angry at the booker or eager to see him FINALLY get his revenge...but I largely gave up on Adam Page after that super kick no selling spot monkey match with Adam Cole. He doesn't care about wrestling psychology anymore so let him get buried.
AEW has legitimized all the negative stereotypes about professional wrestling.
My issue with Page is him Triple H spitting the blood into the air. That stuff travels. Did blood get on the crowd?
This podcast makes me so happy. Feel bad for Cornette though having to watch Aew.
If listening to a miserable old fart complain on his podcast is what makes u happy, then clearly u dont have alot going for you in life. LOL
50 year old men with families listening to Jim Cornette so they can both yell at the clouds together LOL
I wouldn't jinx it, Tony might just hire Nick Gage full time
There goes their large TV contract.
I was waiting for this one right here.
Seriously. How do some people enjoy this and think this is wrestling.
Swerve is great but to put him in this crap is just not it!
Swerve has been doing death matches for over a decade. Shut up bruh
I agree. It was a disgusting shitshow of a match.
if they exact same match was from 1989 you'd probably say it was amazing
@@keeganwatt5209this was the drizzling shits and will be forgotten in 2 weeks
@@keeganwatt5209no I would still call it a 💩 show
"Hucklebuck Rules" is probably going to replace AEW one day. I do not know what Tony is doing, and I already hear the chorus of "well, so and so did it 25 years ago", but context, eras, and common sense do not make what one place or person did a good idea for this company now.
It’s like they didn’t learn from Billy-
Gotta watch what you put in tv
Jim, you've got a point about the KIA Forum... BOTH the Rams and the Chargers play RIGHT NEXT DOOR!!! ...and Dodge has never even entertained the thought... SMH
I have to say being a fan of death match wrestling, this match definitely had a lot of pointless spots that made no sense. If I wanted to see violence with no context I’ll look up CZW.
