However, the Itoh chick is the definition of outlaw wrestler and the Ryo chick that fought Shida looked old, fat, and slow. They really had Excalibur try and explain their history like anyone gives a shit. The women's wrestlers don't have to look like Trish or be as good in the ring as Charlotte but they certainly shouldn't look like out of shape backyard wrestlers with zero communication or personality.
As someone else said, Kane's entrance could commit murder in AEW.

I remember going to RAW in the late 90s, I wasn’t up in the balcony but I was pretty high up. Kane’s pyro was so hot even up there I thought my eyebrows were gonna burn off 😂

I personally believe that Moxley is a great wrestler and has the talent. I use to think the same for Omega, but not anymore ever since I watched his documentary film and saw the actual disrespect he has for wrestling.

They'll sell it as intentional on Omega's part and the fans will eat that trash the fuck up and call it the best storytelling in the history of wrestling.
If Omega came back out and laughed, Kingston didn't sell death, and the announcers especially Excalibur didn't act as if something was catching on fire this wouldn't have been bad and would have been some good heat... Instead it's this. The match wasn't even bad until the run in but the ending absolutely made that irrelevant.
That would actually make it worse lol. You can’t discredit your co-worker’s effort to make it into a storyline(commentators’ and Kingston’s selling). It would also ruin the continuity from the match itself.
I mean, Mox already ruined it with that post match promo like nothing happened lol

It’s also the cheap way out of accepting responsibility because we all know he’s in charge and should have overseen what was going on. So many good moments in this match. My favorite might have been Jon Moxley walking out with absolutely no emotion, zero energy and then being unable to open his flask, so he turned around and tried to use his jacket to twist the top off but then he walked away in an even more sad way.
Seeing as this was Moxley trying to do an american version of one of the Late Great Terry Funk's matches... And AEW screwed it up and made it a joke, well no wonder he had so little energy.
The one Funk was in looked real and scary at the time, looked serious as hell, and that was what Moxley wanted to happen. As his own ode to Terry Funk...

The ring exploding after the timer ends was such an unnecessary stipulation. Match would've been fine with just the exploding ropes and it ends by pin or sub.

"I want to remake the Golden Lovers storyline", "I want to remake the Bullet Club / Elite storyline", "I want to remake the Montreal Screwjob", "I want to remake the Onita-Funk exploding match". Etc etc etc. When given full creative freedom, all Omega can do is pathetic recreations of things someone else came up with before.
When he tries to actually book something original, we get AEW's women's division.
I swear it even broke the rule how it was done. Like someone in a post related to this match said how the match had to finish before the 30 min or else the bombs just go off. It never said it continues.

Alot of AEW fans were excited for the PPV. now i how they felt, because i was excited for Jims reaction to this debacle.

When has the exploding ring *ever* worked? Terry Funk and Cactus Jack had one way back when, and the explosion was a little *phut* of shit just like AEW's. The difference? Cactus and Funk knew they'd have to bust their asses and rack up the injuries to salvage it, and that's exactly what they did. They didn't end the fucking show on a massive fart in the audience's faces.
