45mph with bolt on only parts seems perfect for me! I live in downtown Phoenix and work in the valley metro area. And, I have had Ninjas, Aprilias and the 350cc Vespas. I am cool with a 50cc runabout. As long as it is stable of course
Lol, I remember these days, adding rollers, exhaust, different jets, running it leaner, getting rid of the air box, just to get to 45 in 20/25 seconds. GY6 swap is/was the way to go with a Ruckus, 45 in a few seconds no problems, and max out at around 70. Then you get addicted and the only thing left stock is the main frame 😂. I eventually got a Honda CBR600, but it never was as fun as my take anywhere Ruk. The Ruckus is definitely the best design scoot out there today.
I did the poline vareator with 3 5gram rollers and 3 5.5. Dr pully rollers. Hit 45 every day. Plus I carry hefy tools with me on the bike and have a big wide screen also.
@@ChuckyWright The clowns from days of old on TotalRuckus were shaving the drive face of the variator, and Dr. pulley slider weights, can squeeze more speed. I nearly got kicked off the site due to my political stance much different than the woke west coast. Oh well. Best Regards
Do you think you’d get any more performance with a lowered seat and handle bars? Not necessarily more speed, but maybe be able to accelerate or hold speed in the 40s easier.
All you need is a 110 lb kid and 45 is no problem. He has the speeding ticket to prove it. Speeding, no license, no tag, no insurance, about $750 total.
I own a Navi. I didn't care for them at first, but quickly grew on me. The Ruckus is a different kind of cool. If it had a Navi motor, it would be even cooler...
youll get maybe (maybe) up to 45 reliably with that. add a better variator and aftermarket intake and you *******might********* get up to 50, I got 49mph no wind flat road BUT I weighed 220 at the time. Havent ridden it since I lost almost 30lbs, probably going to take it for a spin tomorrow
the reason why I modded mine with the CDI, variator, exhaust and intake was soley for more low-end power and hill-climbing. It chirps up to about 35 on a decently steep grade
@@H3DG3xC043 Yeah the stock is pretty damn good all things considered. As far as anything plug and play... I'd suggest you still take it to a shop and make sure its jetted and tuned (: youll have much better sound and much better long term outcomes imo
That idea made me kind of cringe 50cc towing a 2 ton truck...man you might burn out the engine/motor...maybe a 4ft challenge if you decide to. Don't mistreat her, she's been so good to you im sure.
Mmmm, SPEED...let's buy a 50cc scooter. So, basically, a lot of morons buying these things. It looks like a great little 'scoot', but know what you're buying, and buy what you want...If you need to do 45 mph, buy an appropriate machine.
Most roads here in Toronto where I live only go max 60km/h and usually its only 40 or 50km/h. So if it can reach over 40mph which is over 60km/h, shits good for city runs to work or errands. Considering gas and insurance prices up here.
It’s fun learn by doing the modifications, scoots are cheap to buy, great gas mileage, almost nothing on insurance, no motorcycle license required etc etc etc.

they are very stable

ruckus is badass
Cool. What’s a GY6 ?
@@northjerseykevin3915 A GY6 is 4 stroke single cylinder horizontal scooter motor, in my case it was a 150cc motor.
@@northjerseykevin3915 *chitty 150cc Chinese engine lol. You want reliability, stay Honda.

I did 42 going down hill on my stock Honda Ruckus, 2018
love the bike
Same here , 35 easy !
Do you have a video showing your mods? I wild like to know your upgrades. Thanks
34 mph
with a fresh belt is my top speed on level ground, stock 2005 Ruckus.
not to shabby

Love your Ruckus videos bud. Keep up the good work.
thanks!
First thing to check is your tire pressure.
Fill to the sidewall max
yep
Do you think you’d get any more performance with a lowered seat and handle bars? Not necessarily more speed, but maybe be able to accelerate or hold speed in the 40s easier.
a lowered seat was one of my biggest improvments. the ruckus needs all the help it can get and your big ass upper body makes a lot of drag.
I weigh 170 and my top speed has been 43 mph

haha true that!
Hey! would you reccomend putting on the NCY cdi on newer models like the 2020 ruckus?
yesss absolutely
@@ChuckyWright thank you man!
What is your average top speed? seems like a pretty decent upgrade for the price. I'm thinking you gained an additional 10(+/-) mph?
What mods do I make to get more speed out of my Ruckus? I don't want to change my motor ..just mods to the honda motor
variator weights. ncy cdi
@@ChuckyWright Thank you young man
What is the acceleration like? At a light will it be too slow off the line to impede traffic??
same as a car till 25 then it gradually picks up
I’ve topped out max on flats at 45
On a downhill topped closer to 48
Thank you for the video. I just picked up a new 2022 Ruckus. Going to order the parts today.
get after it!
Nice video.I have a 2005 ruckus.i installed 5.5 variator,cdi stock muffler still my mph is 30-31.
Any other suggestions?ty
Thanks Greatly Appreciate it!
Good video
Mine is in the revlimiter at 40 do I need a CDI?
yes
Has anyone considered the 108cc Navi engine swap?
That would increase hp from 4hp to 7.8 hp
Which should do wonders for the top speed
just get a navi
I own a Navi. I didn't care for them at first, but quickly grew on me. The Ruckus is a different kind of cool. If it had a Navi motor, it would be even cooler...

Great short wearing weather.
Total cost?
Nice!!! Do one with a tuck next
could haha! just wanted to be practical riding position

Btw the belt will break before it will damage anything
Just buy a adly bullseye 2 stroke all most stock just change the jets over 50 mph
then everything is inconvenient
You’re crying and didn’t even change your exhaust let alone tune/ jet lmao
don't be ridiculous, the ruckus is not supposed to go fast, you want fast? get a hyabusa
been there done that.
The fun lies In making stuff that shouldn’t be fast into something fast. Same reason people love old civics in the car community.

I think its our natural instinct to want to modify and customize any bike, the Ruckus is such a nice looking scoot, why not coax 45mph out of it!! ?
