It’s good to hear that you just want with the Standard upgrade without messing with any of the mechanics. I’m gonna follow your suit on this because I have a new ruckus ordered it I’m still waiting for it. So I’m doing a lot of studying at all these videos as to what you guys did. Thanks for the great videos they’re really cool and adventurous.
Is that bag backwards?
Impressed 45mph in the rain. I have a 2022, weigh 210lbs plus a cargo rack (its a necessity) barrel front bag & an underseat bag that is not installed backwards like you did (ha). I run 28psi front 36psi rear tire pressure, Polini variator 5gram Sliders, the EVI with the performance ignition from Rolling Wrench, tach, Polini kevlar belt & 1 tiny trick you missed, Non-Ethanol gas plus add 1 tablespoon of Octane Booster. I cruise normal at 42mph & top 45/46mph after around a mile on flat terrain not against the wind.
Something curious but I recently added a windshield & actually increased cruising & top speed 1mph I imagine from creating a laminar wind flow which now gives me 46.
Can you show us a link to the windscreen?
I mostly want it to keep the elements off my phone.
Should be noted that you stayed under the stock rpm limit of 8950. You could have gotten that 45mph without it. The ncy doesn't actually do anything aside from increasing the rpm limit. You would see the same top speed but faster acceleration with 5gram sliders.
Also just a note as I watched your previous upgrade video. The sliders don't cause the variator to open more. They actually are designed to sit lower then the rollers so that from a stop you take off faster. Top speed should be the same at the same weight though.
I gave this video a thumbs up just for your dedication, getting soaked in the rain just to make this video for our enjoyment.
I like how you kept it looking mostly stock but got the speed up, can you post what parts you bought in order to do it?
I made a video on the parts!
Thanks for the video. As a 200 pound guy myself, it's what I was looking for. Hey, for the Issy Zone bag, I think you put it in backwards, which is why it didn't fit well. The taller end of the bag should be in the front, don't you think? Seems like it. Have you used the bag at all? It looks pretty nice. Cheers!
you are correct
Just got a Yoshimura Exhaust installed on my Ruckus. It sounds AWESOME!!!!!
I need one!
Great top speed. For additional storage check out Ruc Rac. There's a youtube video about it. It's a metal rack that attaches to the rear of the stock seat frame. I bought one and love it
ill have to check that out!
I have a stock Zuma 50fx it does 42 miles per hour. Pulls reasonably well till 30.
Two weeks ago, bought a new 2018 Ruckus. Rode home from Richmond, Mi to Oxford, Mi in the rain.
damn hat must have been a fun ride haha!
That’s a good distance, l live in White Lake and I’ve ridden to Fowlerville, Argentine, Linden, and Hadley all mostly dirt roads, it makes a great adventure
@@blindwillielee691 its always a good time! just picked up a super moto so now I can ride out there and meet you guys!
My (mostly) stock Yamaha Zuma picked-up an extra 15 mph when I added an unrestricted exhaust. This summer I plan to install the 70CC upgrade kit which should put me up over 60mph , which is just about as fast as I would ever want to go on the windy roads where I live.
true that
So what internal mods are you running again? Also what app were you using for a speedo?
polini variator 5.5 gram slider weights. ncy cdi and tires at 35 psi, the app is called "Speedmeter" on iphone
The ruckus looks so fun
get one man!
Deleting the airbox and rejeting the carb isn't that hard, it's cheap and makes a ton of difference without doing the CDI box, which i don't recommend because it gets rid of the rpm engine protection. A good exhaust will also get you about 1.5-2 MPH, so you can see potential 5 MPH difference but you will start to hit diminishing returns after that. I'm 200 pounds and been messing with mine for a year and after about three things got it to go around 40 on uphill inclines, almost 50 downhill and that was good enough for me.
I just want 50 on flat and ill be happy!
Slight increase of jet size and yoshimura exhaust and I hit rev limiter fast on flats (42mph on speedo). Waiting on cdi box so I can free it up and hopefully get it past 45 mph. Idk how you’re hitting 50 from the same mods (I’m only 160lbs) since it would hit rev limiter way before that
exhaust and jetting would really open this thing up for me.
@@mowens1997 Depends on year and type of gas you're using. Make sure your gas isn't ethanol, it can kill performance. Also weighting the variator for top end and low take off. You can work around the limiter.
Chucky Wright When I first bought my ruckus is was almost brand new but the guy just had it sitting in the garage and the jets got clogged up, so I did a jet replacement.... oh man did it make it run so much better and smoother, I forgot which ones but I think it was like 38,80. Not a huge increase to where you really need to tune it but enough to feel a difference and it prob took me at max like an hour and half - two hours, but that’s because I was watching tutorials as I went. Would recommend
Hi pal - what have you changed to get the speed up?
Was it a stock ruckus when you started the video and then upgrades got you 45??
it was modded when I started I was slightly going up a hill
What mods do you have on the ruckus
CDI, variator, 5.5 gram sliders
reminds me of florida inthe summer it rains alot
What weight sliders did you end up going with?
6.5
I built an ebike and it does 41 but I’m hoping to hit 45 and I’m racing my friend who has a ruckus too he has put a new exhaust on
will be close the range on the ruckus is where its at
What was the speed before? GPS?
45
Bro how much is this bike?
My ruckus goes 45 downhill, 35 flat, and 25 uphill...
You put the bag in backwards 😂
Also calls it an under-bag seat
When you said 45 was the goal i was waiting for you to gas it
have to send it!
50cc?

Cool intro
Great vid
What about 50mph
This is only 49 cc?

Riding in shorts is just plain dumb and very dangerous!
