I think you guys are playing GoW3 on normal. It's pretty easy on that difficulty, I think D.I. by default is a bit harder. But you can't be mindless on really any of the classic GoW titles on their harder difficulties and with GoW3's alt weapons all being very similar to the blades they all flow into eachother during combat, it's smother than D.I. Out of all the GoW titles I think Ascension's gameplay feels closest to D.I.'s

"10 million units sold is the new benchmark for success in AAA" and DMC5 has only sold 6 million copies. This is why Capcom churns out RE games and remakes but there is no DMC 6 in their current roadmap. DMC is such a huge name and Capcom still won't risk to release more than once a decade, do you think EA is gonna risk making a new Dante's Inferno game that has a next to nothing fanbase?
A few things that I'd change about Dante's inferno is that I'd merge the interact button with the grab button, and the interact button would be button that switches between holy style and unholy style. Which means that with unholy style, we'd still have the unholy scythe moves but the cross would have unholy powers. In holy style, the cross has its usual holy moves but the scythe is blessed and has holy powers as well. The extensions of health, mana, redemption meter, relic slots and grab mechanic will be placed in the middle. I personally imagine DI having three endings after providing an option to punish or absolve Lucifer, the third option to re-imprison him. If Lucifer's re-imprisoned, than the ending we got will be the same, if he's punished than Dante will be forced to be the new king of hell, or if he's absolved than all of hell will begin to crumble, all souls get set free and only purgatory and heaven will be left. However, sin, conflict and death will still always exist in reality. Other than all that, I almost prefer Dante over Kratos.
The reason why they canceled the sequel was due to the critics calling it a GoW copy, and by it's poor sales, they got by it, but as a DI fan, Dante's Purgatory would be legendary.

Of course, it is known that the style of Dante's Inferno is made like God of War, but this does not negate the originality of Dante's Inferno. On the contrary, Dante's Inferno seems to be a more serious game - a game that reflects the vileness, cruelty and bleakness of the described Hell - nothing like God of War offers. If God of War can still be played by children under 18 (although the rating of the game seems to be 18+), then Dante's Inferno is definitely not a game for the child's psyche.
Agreed. This was the first game I’ve ever played outside of my game boy advanced when I was a kid. Aleghieri’s work definitely made an impact on my way of thinking since then.
ok OP, GOW was always a serious and dark franchise... you realise how evil Kratos is or was especially ordering thousands of decapitated heads to be built as pyramids from large scale battles as well as innocent ppl (which also includes children) but difference between Kratos and Dante is that one just wanted to be forgotten and not forgiven but still did evil shit even after what has happened especially the higher beings fcking his life up and one wanted to be forgiven but he had to suffer in order to achieve redemption

I like how Dante's animations are much more relaxed and swift. Kratos has a ton of weight behind it due to his rage. But Dante seems more focused and reserved, wasting no energy

The only way they're useless is if you play on the lowest difficulty. And since you said GoW as a whole, and not Gow3 specifically, I'm going to assume you haven't played the rest of the series. Because in older GoWs magic attacks are some of your most powerful offensive skills. Way stronger than DI's. GoW magic is more straightforward and destructive, while DI's is more utilitary and doesn't offer as much in the power department. Still, they have a lot of uses for creative CC. They're clearly supposed to compliment with the core combat system.

In as much as Dante's inferno may be a rip off from god of war I still like Dante's inferno more I've played gow and compared to DI it's just bland, Dante's inferno is more realistic both in level design and plot although no living soul has seen hell before but I appreciate how it was depicted, hell in gow is just a playground on fire. The first time my bro, my cousin and I played this we were scared so bad I started thinking a lot more of my actions lol but when we played gow it only taught us one thing, violence, more violence 😂

Anyways both games are so phenomenal in similarities and not to get me hype up for chain linking Combos while creating different ways in unique but difficult input commands. Great video comparison
In as much as Dante's inferno may be a rip off from god of war I still like Dante's inferno more
I've played gow and compared to DI it's just bland, Dante's inferno is more realistic both in level design and plot although no living soul has seen hell before but I appreciate how it was depicted, hell in gow is just a playground on fire. The first time my bro, my cousin and I played this we were scared so bad I started thinking a lot more of my actions lol but when we played gow it only taught us one thing, violence, more violence 😂
