I am soooooo proud of myself...seeing my creation on youtube in a stunning race. I hope you enjoyed it! That was my second track for GPL, just based on a track map and a handful of b/w images. So it's historical maybe not THAT correct, but absolutly fun to drive. And it was quiet hardware hungry those days, with all the trees. Thanks for showing that track! Keep racing!

exciting race to watch. there is something special about these graphics, with the chunky geometry, beautiful tree sprites, incredible looking cars with the shine of the paint and gearboxes... idk altogether its something else. im probably gonna have to get the game and this track. so much appreciation for everyone creating content for the community. thanks you.

Not too long ago I wouldn't have thought this was the sort of content I could sit around and watch for hours, but ever since I came across your channel at the beginning of this year I've been hooked.
Your car experiments like the 60s GP cars on slicks brought me here, but your racing content and reviews of classic sims kept me here.
Honestly, these full seasons you're doing are the greatest highlight and almost make me feel like they're giving me the chance to experience the sort of racing I was born too late to experience first hand.

I'd agree with that comment, I've never had a great attention span for videos much longer than 20 minutes but I can happily watch these videos for hours at a time.. great content

Whats always been more impressive, is the fact you're rattling off the history, know who is driving what, keeping the video interesting, and still keeping the car on the track!
If I try that its either I'm talking and crashing, or not talking and staying on track. Love the videos!

There was actually a promoter in the early 1990’s trying to organize a Syracuse Grand Prix in Syracuse, New York. They wanted to build a road course in the lakeside parking area across the highway from the New York State Fairgrounds, but they only got as far as some rudimentary track maps and sponsoring a couple of ARCA stock car series races at Pocono Speedway. ARCA was the highest level of racing they intended to target at the time.
Thinking back on it, I’m not sure their proposed track would have fit in that area, and that whole area is industrial fill full of buried soda ash and other unpleasant stuff; the factory next door to the fairgrounds was dumping mercury and other industrial waste into Onondaga Lake and burying it on the shoreline for decades about 100 years ago, leaving it one of, if not the, most polluted lakes in any developed nation. Fun stuff.

I think you're one of the best at racing with ai out of anyone I can think of on youtube. It seems like a lot of people just try to plow through them and don't give them the same respect that they would give a real driver, which in my opinion makea the ai seem worse and less fun to drive with. You also seem to be really skilled at setting them up to be competitive and fair with you too

from all your videos, i am amazed to see that after 22 years, GPL has the best AIs in the sense that they behave as real drivers, not morons that dont do anything on the track, and how much imersive this game is, and i mean for watch. Theres dozens of new games with amazing graphics, but thats all you got.

If I have any criticism to this very trippy thing you're doing, it would be that the speed of the cars, I think, would exceed what they were doing in '66 and I base that on how fast you're running in relation to the trees. Maybe I'm all wrong. Trippy nonetheless and thanks for doing it,
