Yeah, his content is amazing! He inspired me to take part in some classic racing championships - honestly it feels very good to race those classic cars!
7:08 BREAKING NEWS: Flagman dead at Oulton Park. On the Formula 2 Season opener at Oulton Park, the race began and the drivers went on the first corner, then Jacky Ickx went off the track and unfortunately ran over a Flagman. Incredibly, the race continued normally and the unknown flagman was transported to the closest hospital discreetly and during the rest of the race, he was replaced by a partner. But unfortunately the injuries were too serious and the flagman died in transit to the hospital. Surprisingly, Jacky Ickx had not suffered any damage and continued in the race, he didn't recieved any reprimand. It is definitely one of Oulton Park's darkest days.
Yet another excellent video - thank you. Just enough history to bring us up to speed with the event without turning it into a full-blown documentary, followed by a 'live' race where anything can happen and isn't restricted to the history book result (makes it exciting). Keep up the great work!
Ickx straight up murdered that marshal on T1 of the race lol Also, it's too bad that the AI seems to have seamless shifts. You get a good run out of a corner and as soon as you shift it all goes away.
that is true about the shifts, on the .ini you can make the ai shift more realistically that said it does not affect their speed, the gpl mods all have the same copy pasted mistakes in the .ini files that make the ai a heck of a lot faster down the straights.
OK, now please don't get angry reading this post, it is the reality I lived through, I hope you enjoy it all, anyway. I remember the 1966 F2 season, sad to say it was truly dull. The Brabham-Honda's walked away from everything at every race. What with Brabham's success in the Grands Prix that year as well, he truly was hogging it a little. Then came the "Motor Show 200" at Brands Hatch in October, last race of the season. If anyone didn't accept Rind's prodigious talent after that, he/she was mad! British doyen journalist Denis Jenkinson of Motor Sport Magazine (available in good newsagents everywhere and a MUST for historical fans .. btw, I do not work for Motor Sport, but I never miss the glorious magazine!), who had sat next to Stirling Moss in the 1955 Mille Miglia reading the pace notes, said he would shave his famous beard off if Rindt ever won a Grand Prix. Sure enough, after the '69 US race he bought a set of razor blades and was true to his word. Anybody who watched the '70 Monaco race will still remember it clearly, one of the genuine greatest drives of all time and remember, 90 degree kerbs, manual gearboxes and 100 laps. Simply one of the greatest Grands Prix (yes, that is the correct way to spell the plural of "Grand Prix", but you still pronounce it "Grand Prix's") ever. Boring reality or not, a great car set, well worth adding to the Grand Prix Legends line-up! Thanks.
The ai always has loads more power, you can make the power fairer by adjusting the mod's .ini file. I think it is the nominal traction value that needs changing.
I love your Content. Was in a sad mood, but after your video i feel better and inspired. Thx!

So nicely done. I truly hope to see a 1968 historic season following this one perhaps in 2022! 👍🇵🇹

Rip mr flagman
Ickx would later be fined and given 5 minutes in the FIA timeout corner.

Your commentary takes me away to a magic place where my childhood heros are still racing. Thanks Jake!
I get a christmas present every day from this channel.
Excellent racing Jake, I love the parity between player and A.I. fighting for every inch. Great stuff :) ,, ( Bathurst, Australia)

Omg that one lap of you catching Brabham was insane. You were ON it
Nice race really enjoyed. I was pulling for you when you got close.
What a great race and no reason at all to be disappionted. Giving it all there is must be a rewarding thing
👍👏 Was behind you on screen trying to push you past 'Black Jack' damn those stones.
What a race ... WOW!!!
Great race, great commentary!
Combining this track with the JGTC mod is really fun.
... and so awesome-ness continues! Thanks, Jake.
The only Sim racing channel I care about. Just quality content.
I really have to thank you
That track looks great 👍
Nice racing!
Oulton is a great circuit, not too far from us. We watched the British Superbikes there some years ago when Tom Sykes was racing.
What a great track Oulton Park is, although I think I’d rather drive it today haha
There's a lot of F1 championship titles - some yet to come - on that grid!
Another great race.

Ima open a sandwich shop and name a sandwich the ‘Jackie Sandwich’
Love the content !!!!! Are you also going to drive the 12hours of Reims from 1966 ? It was a banger of a race !!!!
Looks like great fun
You should do a season for every year of f1 as well. That could be cool.
What song is your into music? It's such a vibe, i wanna listen to it whenever lol

Nice drive! Is this f2 carset for 1965 available somewhere?
