When my grandkids ask me who was your favourity F1 driver from the olden times I'll say...sit down little one I'll tell you great tale of Richie Axelson
Richie's last name has gone from Axleson to Tsuchiya at the Brands Hatch weekend, from going full Drift Mode around Druids in the Cortina, to getting the Eagle's tailfeathers just a bit free in one corner or another. Looks like a fun weekend for Richie...especially after the nightmare at Spa and the disappointment at Le Mans.
I absolutely love the history you provide in each video!!! Keep up the great work!!! I tried open wheel on Forza 7 with this car and wow! I can't imagine what this car feels like in a real sim!!!!
What great result for Richie! This 66 series is amazing. I think I never leave a comment in the Le Mans 66 video, but just to make a note: it's incredible that video. I hope our hero Richie have a win in La Sarthe someday.
Well done Richie. Can't wait for that V12 engine and give Brabham and run for his money. Great video and 2 in one day. We need 1 everyday and they sure do put a smile on my face. Cheers :)
Jake, let me know if I'm wrong, but that shot at 3:17 is a recreation of the photo taken at Silverstone in 1965. you can tell who is who by the names. in the actual photo, Graham Hill (and his mustache) is 3rd from the camera and Jackie Stewart is closest.
What a start of the race, love your channel especially the video one about the Swiss circuit Bremgarten which I saw first a couple months ago. Sometimes hard to follow though because they’re extremely long. Would love to see some kind of series going on soon which are shorter and more condensed like 10min
Great video (again 😃). I think I was more scared than you during those early overtakes through the corners.😱 As to spectating at Brands v Silverstone. I went to the F1 at Brands in 86 and Silverstone in 87 (both have happy Mansell memories). They weren't too different to '66. Brands was so much better than Silverstone. Much closer to the track, more interesting corners and there were some viewing places where you could see a lot of the first half of the track. And the noise of the mighty 1.5 turbos between the trees in the back section.... Silverstone was flat and featureless in comparison, and you couldn't really see more than 1 corner at a time. Nowadays Silverstone has really improved for spectators with more grandstands, raised viewing banks and the infield section. But back in 1987 I was really disappointed when F1 made a long term commitment to Silverstone. (Worked out ok though). 😀
If you climb to the top of the radio tower, which isn't there yet in this version, you can see the entire Indy circuit at least. A great view for watching the touring cars, highly recommended!
Kinda funny you are your own closest rival in the constructors list, I don’t think you’ll catch yourself, unless things go drastically wrong, in which case it is mathematically possible 😹
I would think the old dingle dell would be a bit different to this. It used to be more of a chicane that could be taken as a right handee sort of like at Barber. This seems like the modern layout.
Can you please give me a review on the physics and ffb in Grand Prix Legends, you make me want to buy it with your fantastic commentary. How does it compare to Assetto corsa , for example. Thanks Peter
Great content, do you have any problems using the new sim gear with these old titles, GP legends and GTR2?. I want to upgrade from logitech pedals to HE Sprints but scared I won't be able to play these old games which I still play often.
I was at this race as a nearly 10 year old... I don't remember much of the racing, but the smell and the noise have stayed with me ever since.
Did you see any other Grandprix that you remember? I would like to hear about them
Ah yes the noise! For that reason i prefer watching tv. You can't get across how ear drummingly explosive the engines sound 🙂
@@MidwestFarmToys bruh what😂😂
Legend.
I love the Richie Axelson series, always look forward to it. Hope he races into the 70's!
I will love to see Richie doing the Indy500 in the beggining of the 70's, racing aganist the Unser's, Foyt, Mario, Loyyd Rubi & Co.
@@luizfilipediasgenesi172 would love to see Richie chase the triple crown.
two GPLaps videos in one day, we've been blessed

Loving this series. Just finished watching the Saloon Car race. Pretty pleased to see this uploaded.
Nice to see you haven't stoped doing this kind of content, it's my personal favourite out of all the stuff you do.

Useless fact of the day, this is the first Grand Prix a young Martin Brundle attended.
I don’t think that’s useless at all. Quite a good fact.
My favorite series featuring two videos in one day?? We are spoiled Jake, thank you!
I'm loving this series, keep it going
Love this series. I hope Richie has a long career. The 60s are a dangerous time to be racing.
Thanks for bringing us these videos. The RP makes it immersive and I enjoy relaxing to these while I illustrate.

Two uploads in few hours, that’s a great day ;)
Can't wait for Richie to get his hands on that screaming Weslake V12! I guess we'll have to wait for Monza...
Bob Turner for the Win!

It's funny about spelucating Ferrari missing because of Le Mans defeat, which didn't happen in Richie Axelson universe
Maybe, in this case, they're just celebrating too much, they forgot Brands Hatch...
@gplaps can´t wait for the next vid of your 1966 series

Would you know if Stirling's was Stirling's by the time of this race?
Good question. He'd already retired by then so it is entirely possible. I don't know for sure though
Really enjoyed and subscribed .
That was a sick race Ritchie! Not a bad result in the BSCC yesterday too! How long until the Dutch GP plz?
The GPL version must have updated recently, because this looks better than the GTL version. The trees especially.
I tell you something, Brands Hatch looks very good on GPL, even if the surrounding treelines look rather too autumnal for mid-July.
More like early spring.

That was the configuration that was used in the 1990s.
It would great to recreate the race with v12 🔥

There are not really any issues, just be aware both sims only recognize 3 controllers, so you wont be able to use more than 3 separate devices at once
@@GPLaps Thanks for the reply, greatly appreciated.
plz bring this back

My Driver of the Day is Richie Axelson! :D
Jake, do you adjust the AI in GPL?
Are there more WSC videos coming?
I may decide to do 1967 at some point, but I wrapped up the 1966 races so no more for now!
Why was Ferrari missing ? Were they pouting over something again ?
This is explained in the first two minutes.
Italian strikes trapped them home. This also happened in 1965
You probably already know this but the Kidney corner is actually called 'Surtees'
Can you race in the PERMANENT SIRACUSA CIRCUIT???
Brands is still better than silverstone for viewing
