The car I picked up at the end of 2021 has driven nearly 6,000 kilometers so far. This car is currently performing very well in all aspects, such as power, quietness, sound, and chassis performance. kilometer. Did a check and there were no problems. The configuration of this car can be compared with the C300 and 330I. Not worse than them, or even stronger, because of the four-wheel drive, 700-watt HARMAN KARTON. With 280 hp/350 torque, these configurations go beyond the c300 and 330I. So now I feel that everything is very good, the more I look at it, the better it looks, especially for long-distance driving, overtaking freedom, stability, and peace of mind. Have driven more than 200 km / h. Still not worried. nice car.
How about suspension comfort
@@royalprince5878 The suspension is very good, and the road with small potholes is like floating past, and there is no vibration. Unless you encounter big pits at high speed. Usually and high-speed driving, it feels very stable and quiet, the seat is really very comfortable, and the waist is not tired at all when driving at high speed for a long time. High-speed fuel consumption is also not large 7-8. Overtaking is absolutely powerful, very relaxed and chic.
Does the car good for daily drive/ city drive ?
I've never been a continental car fan, but this car somehow managed to interest me when I first look at it on the road.
Got mine last week. The positives outweigh the negatives, given the price tag... Definitely beyond "superficialities". 😅
What's your comment on its ride quality and comfort
Very good ride comfort. DCC changes significantly with drive mode. Much better than the G20 330i
@@royalprince5878 the good thing is there's much flexibility with the DCC settings. On city and B roads, I'd use my own personal settings with the damping set to the most soft setting. On highways, the normal damping setting is sufficient, if the sport setting feels a little too harsh. Ride is excellent. Handling wise, it's a bit of mixed bag... A bit sedated, but at least the abundance of power and torque more than makes up for it.
TOP URGENT!PLS LET ME KNOW.I bought the ARTEON R LINE 4MOTION. I am going back to China for 5 months. How can I deal with the battery loss when I don’t drive for 5 months. Some people say to remove the negative pole, and some say to remove the negative pole of the battery first and then the positive pole of the battery. Excuse me. Which one is correct.
dont compare it price wise too much, shouldve compared it against its direct rivals instead (330i & C300). 20-50k price difference is normal especially in this segment. great review as always tho
I dunno what's he's talking. The ride quality of Arteon is night and day comparing with W205 and G20 320i. So smooth, pliant and supple. I'm wondering where did the idea came to him that 320i rides more polished. Lol. Can't really digest that.

Great car. Agree the various safety features should be standard but they can be added for a few k like adaptive cruise etc. This car beats any other German offering by 100-200k easily. The only thing it can’t beat is a Passat Highline 1-2 years its senior

Thank you for an insightful and honest review. Any chance of using a decibel reader for tyre roar seems to be recurrent theme in your VW reviews?
Sound deadening may have been compromised but it'll be good to know the exact decibel reading at say 100 kph.
Or is he being too biased? I've tested Camry Accord and Passat. Camry quietest while Accord and Passat emit about the same tyre roar. Tested Arteon. Tyre roar is okay only high speed and harsh road hear much.

Sorry Matthew, but I dont get why is this an emotional purchase? For the price bracket, it has better performance and space than 320i and C200. Seems like a value for money purchase to me.

The car is fantastic, but the VW after-sale service, has it improved much?
The 2022 Arteon R does in fact have Adaptive Cruise Control and rear traffic cross alert. It also will stop if you’re about to have a collision while reversing or a car is about to cross your path while reversing. It does here in Australia anyway! VW don’t list all these features individually, they bundle them into what they call “IQ drive”.
Unfortunately these features are region specific. Volkswagen Malaysia has decided to not bring these in as standard, but luckily for us they can be retrofitted at a much cheaper cost than the BMW G20. At least here in Malaysia anyway.
This review is for the Malaysian market. We don't get those features here.

a very good car. but if i am holding 250k and ready to buy a car, maybe i will take a look at bmw and mercedes. or just buy 199k camry because it can last 10 years. i mean, if you drive the same bmw/merc for 10 years it means you are not doing well, but if you drive your same camry for 10 years, thats because you are a cheap uncle :D

Shouldn't this be a logical purchase instead of an emotional one? That it lacks the badge prestige but packs a bomb in it? ^_^
And I completely disagree with his remark on the suspension. If I can give a list of cars in my mind which can challenge Camry in terms of ride comfort, I would say Arteon is one of them. Especially at Comfort mode. 320i lol of course not as jarring as 330i but 320i still is incomparable.
Car look stunning
The "cover page" is already ridiculous - the Arteon is a lot larger than a C-Class or a 3 Series, plus the fact that the 3 Series and C-Class are MAXIMUM but not actually in the upper middle class, they are actually middle class.
The Arteon can compare to cars like an A7 because the Arteon is upper class.
In some ways it can also be compared with an A8!

When is the turn for Tiguan FL ?
People who buying this arteon must be enjoying driving fun and tech aggressiveness. Some people might said at this price I will rather go for 320i or top up to get the C200 why should go for Arteon? First of all the cabin of Arteon is way bigger than the duo, it is similar like S class or 7 Series space, Arteon cabin size is bigger than E class and 5 series. Second it is AWD compare to the duo who only RWD. RWD is superior than FWD but not when compare to AWD.
How was the reliability then? It is completely okay to drive VW car beyond 7 years to 10 years if proper maintenance is given. In VW telegram group there are people who driven for 10 years or more. Don't compare to Toyota/Lexus who has almost greatest reliability than any other car brands. If reliability is your top priority then take Toyota/Lexus (not all Japanese cars are same level as Toyota).
The shortage of this Arteon is without AEB (retrofit is only RM2k) and also lack of service center.
Your comment on suspension and ride quality. I find it funny when he said ride is not supple and 320i is better. Lol apa la ni 🤣🤣🤣 320i is the harshest in the class. W206 smoother. Arteon is of course most comfortable.

Do you experience engine oil level drop? This might happen if you are on a high-speed and long journey...
You're referring to old VW EA888 Gen 2 engines. Arteon no such issue as it has Gen 3 engine. I researched on it even on overseas FB groups. No post on oil level reduce. Gen 2 engine too many flaws.
Do you have new Arteon and facing this issue or friend's one? If it happens would be isolated case but should refer to SC. Perhaps QC defect at assembly or parts quality issue. Could be oil pump, PCV valve, piston ring (very low possibility). Knowing VW, there is inconsistency in quality. So if you own it and face that issue, could be lemon
Vw msia launch the car way too slow due to CKD. The price tag is good but the timing probably not right. 2023/24 is the end of this arteon life cycle.I love the car so much, but sadly I still pick 3er over this.

i would just add another 30k for V60 T8, a 407hp with 640Nm with best in class safety features.

Yes the market is still reeling from Dieselgate. The US market is spoilt for choice in this segment. The Japanese and Korean performance models from mass market brands promise better quality and reliability than the Germans both mass market and premium sorry to say.
Due to dieselgate issue the whole US market is denying not only Arteon but almost entire range of VW. US top 25 best selling car models non of it was VW while VW is top 3 largest car manufacturer in the world. Most US people hate VW brand.

For the money, I rather get a 330e. Had terrible experience with VW after sales service. Some say that it has improved but even if I wanted to give them a chance, the touch sensitive buttons on the steering wheel on the newer cars is a HUGE turn off.

Wearing that mask makes the video very safe 👌🏽. Specially being outdoor without n-95 mask and disposable mask that takes 450 years to decompose. Make you through away your mask into bio hazard bins because covid dangerous.
Fuel consumption is really on the high side. 9.5L/100km. I think you really lenjan kaw2 and drove in traffic jam 😂😂😂 Lol the 530i Paultan tested just sipped less than 7L/100km.
Well tbf the two cars are different. With the Arteon being AWD while the 530i is RWD only.

Used to be the prettiest car, the facelift ruined it a bit, and vw has gone away from this design. So the impact was very short lived
What went wrong with the facelift? Isn't it better looking? Front grilles got Light strip making it so stylish so as rear taillights 3D effect. The old Arteon interior is a joke. 100% copy paste from Passat. At least new one redesigned dashboard and door panels and seats

I find his remarks on the suspension and ride quality to be funny. Almost everyone who have driven it has claimed that it's so comfortable. Me too. Sports mode, is very firm but ride not so busy. Comfort mode is frankly very comfy. 320i lol 🤣🤣🤣 Yeah it's not bad. Still quite harsh ride. Can't go near Arteon

The centre console and dashboard look like grandpa's car. The exterior is VW . Boring .
