What a fantastic firearm. Best 40 I've ever had. I like it better than the SF 96 Beretta, while a top gun, the SD40VE is just as comfortable and accurate. Range equals in my opinion. A solid gun. The SD40 is my best of show. The accessories like the rubber finger grip and custome back plates make it great. The attachments are the same
Awesome and easy explaining! I'm glad this video has closed captioning. Now, I understand and does it. Now it is clean! Lot of dirt. So, thank you for posting this video. 🖖🏻
Does anybody else have a problem with their SD40 rounds getting stuck ever time I try to chamber a round. Brand new out the box having this problem. Any tips?
Polish the feed ramp with Mother's Mag polish and you can polish the barrel chamber just where the round sits! I have the same .40 and polished the entire barrel to a mirror shine! Clean up is a lot easier once it's slicked up!
Make sure your gun is unloaded , Rack the slide of the gun, now pull the slide back just a quarter inch pull down the releases and pull the trigger at the same time that your holding them down it should come off
Thank you soo much just got my firearm back its been in captivity for 3 years and it jams when i try to put 1 in head... great video and what was the other oil there besides gun oil the one you used cotton on?
I have been trying to disassemble it but when I pull down on the small teeth & pull the slide back it doesn't let me remove the slide like your does on here an idea what I'm doing wrong ? Doing the same thing you are but not releasing the slide for some odd reason
Do I need to do anything to a new gun I just bought from the store before I shoot it for the first time? And should I clean after every shooting? Shot guns before, owned guns before but my ex husband did all that stuff for me I just shot it
I would clean it just to get off all the grease, and then I would try to keep it clean so you don’t have any jams or any issues due to cleanliness. Every 200 rounds or so depending the gun I don’t even clean some guns I own..
I'm a novice, who sincerely appreciated your tutorial! Now, I'm on to clean my Walther CCP 9 mil, but only if I can find a takedown tool!!!! I'm hoping to not have to find another weapon, simply because I can't clean this one! if you have any ideas or suggestions, P-L-E-A-S-E help!
I can't get the GD damn thing to release the barrel has always been idiotic to tear apart. I need another set of hands to break it down an accident waiting to happen Idiot design don't buy
yeah those styles are tough it's kinda a timing thing, Glocks are the same, If you like Smith & Wesson get a M&P they break down easy. Search for a video to see the difference. There's a bunch of used Shields out there. Don't give up and check out other cleaning vids this one isn't good. This vid isn't bad: ua-cam.com/video/50L2k6-nKeY/v-deo.html

Don't push the slide forward there is a vid out on that. Use the release to drop a round in. Being gentle is not how this gun works.

Pull trigger after you release the slide, I think
This is my third video to watch and I still cannot take it apart. Trying everything
Make sure you are hiking down both side of the slide release, then press the trigger it should slide off
Nice job on your video. I just picked one of these today. If I could find ammo i would be good.
Thanks man and I know finding ammo right now is hard.
Don't go to chicago. You'll never get ammo.
When i pull the slide back my barrel seems like its pointing up a little is that normal
Yes
Yes its normal...
I think you shouldve practiced first before buying
@@lucasb7705 Didnt have anyone to let me try it. I know what im doing now tho, thanks for your input.
You don’t lube inside of barrel with oil??
You forgot to mention that you pull the trigger also to help it come off

Take it to any gunsmith near you and have them clean it for a small fee
I still struggling to push that thing down... looks like you also had some trouble too.
Is there a trick to get your magazine to drop out like that every time I release my mag it just stays stuck and doesn't come out freely
I don’t think so..?? clean it maybe..
How often do you have to clean your gun ??
Around 500 rounds I usually clean it
is there such a thing as cleaning your gun to often?
No
Is the toothbrush a soft, medium or hard bristle?
The harder the better
Thanks bro! 👍🏽
I cannot disassemble this thing. Tried a dozen times and won’t slide off
All of them have problems getting the slide off, it's touchy
Is this gun known for locking on you while firing?
From what I know.. no. And of the 600 rounds I’ve shot with it that has not happened.
Those are Glocks bro
I can take a Glock apart all day but I can’t take this one apart and I don’t know why it’s basically they same thing. Slide just won’t come off
