Most of the newer guns like this you can look for digital copies of the user manuals, and sometimes service manuals, that will also have detailed breakdowns.
The mags are pretty loose so they add tape to keep them from rattling and keeps them secure so the bullets can actually get forced into the gun. Iv shot a few and the mag kept the round from springing into the weapon properly.
Nice clean up. Did you contact S&W to see if they still had LASER parts? That would be my first attempt. I would also polish the slide and re-blue it for aesthetic appeal. But that is just me. I love rebuilding older things like that. The LASER not working can only be two things. The LASER diode itself, or the circuit feeding the LASER diode. And pretty much think all the parts could be replaced to make it work again. If it is either, probably not something you could do yourself unless you have the ability to solder parts at that level. Thumbs Up!
The laser is fully warrantied by S&W no questions asked. I sent mine off and was replaced and returned to me in less than two weeks. S&W customer service was great.

Idk if this real hard to wrap my head around how the plastic frame has rust 😂 and this video I watched talked about how someone would have had to let that gun rust for like 10 years
The plastic itself is not rusting but is being stained from the metal that is rusting around it! That is why it was so easy to clean off the rust with just a toothbrush and water because it was not actually stuck on the plastic.
0:50 I was nervous for you when you passed your hand in front of the muzzle several times starting here, knowing there is a round in the chamber especially when just prior to this moment you showed what appeared to be the hammer resting on the firing pin. The electrical tape may have been on the magazine to keep the mag from wiggling in the gun. It appeared it may have been a loose fit without the tape as the bottom was not flush when you installed it at the end. The tape may have held the mag tight in the gun and the bottom of the mag flush with the grip.
Probably the most Unsafest way to mess with the slide . You should have used the machine you have on your table that held the pistol while you beat it with the hammer since the beginning. You never now if that gun is capable of firing. Even in its worst condition
He most likely did this to it himself for a vid. All the restoration vids on stuff like this do it. The only real ones are the antique restorations where it's proven where they got it from.
Either somone found it somewhere, or he left it out buried on purpose for vid. Or magnet fishing... If found it probably is a stolen gun or murder weapon..
The tape is for a tight fit...no moves. Good restoration...though the square with a bend above holder bridge is it really necessary. I once did not insert it and gun still worked. But missing was noted and had to redo it
There is a highly suspicious consistency with the amount of patenation and rust damage to the firearms 'restored' on here. I have a very strong feeling they are put in that terrible state in a controlled and systematic fashion, just to make these videos. These are not 'discovered' firearms.
I was thinking how such a newish gun got so bad. I could see if it was literally dropped in a field for a year or pulled out of creek. But then why does the mag not have rust?
Why would you do this? It's one thing to fake the vids for views but loading it then intentionally weakening the internal components is asking for a AD, or I guess an ND because you caused it.
The tape on the magazine might have been the owner’s way of indicating the ammo type in the mag. Hollow points or FMJs. I’ve seen people put color tape on magazines to label carry mags or practice mags. Just a thought
You're cool! Most of all, take care of yourself. The way you used the hammer on a loaded gun made the hairs on my back stand on end. :) As for the duct tape. I think his magazine got wobbly.
I had one of those stolen from me awhile back. Three years later the police called and said I can pick up my gun. When I got it back it was in rough shape. Not like the one here but still took the better part of a day to get it functional.
As always amazing work, but on this video I have to say that a warm blueing (with chemicals and boiling water) that is easy to do at home, would got better results on the slide.

The mags are pretty loose so they add tape to keep them from rattling and keeps them secure so the bullets can actually get forced into the gun. Iv shot a few and the mag kept the round from springing into the weapon properly.
great video. very impressive results
It's so amazing too see people have the skills , to do something like that as a hobby ect...
Interesting 🆒 ,,, greetings from Brooklyn NY 😎
Seus vídeos apareceram aleatório para mim, já estou assistindo todos. Muito satisfatório, ótimo trabalho. Parabéns
This channel is gonna POP as he puts out more videos. Watch and see. Great job I wish the channel tremendous success.
Thumbs Up!
👌❤
The laser is fully warrantied by S&W no questions asked. I sent mine off and was replaced and returned to me in less than two weeks. S&W customer service was great.
My laser stopped working. S&W sent a new (different manufacturer) unit and installed myself.
Nice little weapon thank you for sharing two thumbs up
You're freaking me out pointing it at your hands and putting your finger in the trigger guard. 😱
This helps put me to sleep I used clean my guns to reduce my stress like a hobby.
Sou do Brasil e gosto muito do seu canal.
❤👌
So relaxing to watch this. I was hoping you would fire the gun at the end but thats ok. Thanks
If the firearm still had a round in the chamber why did you keep sweeping your hand in front of the muzzle especially after turning off the safety?
Idk if this real hard to wrap my head around how the plastic frame has rust 😂 and this video I watched talked about how someone would have had to let that gun rust for like 10 years
The plastic itself is not rusting but is being stained from the metal that is rusting around it! That is why it was so easy to clean off the rust with just a toothbrush and water because it was not actually stuck on the plastic.
@@rusticrestorationsyt fool us once shame on you, fool us twice shame on ourselves, point stop making lies in broad daylight
The wear and tear on that trigger probably made the break and reset better🤣. If you know, you know!
That finish looks really nice !
Somebody's been magnet fishing!
Impressive work! Where did this piece come from?
Probably a hot gun from a riverbed, tbh.
Great job. I have one of these as a pocket protector , for when I don't carry larger
These are garbage! Get yourself a Sig P238
An impressive restoration thanks for the video
Great job, beautiful restoration.
I think the tape was for making the magazine tighter in the actual grip, as it looked loose. Nice restore
electrical tape doesnt leave finger prints
Muito boa a restauração, seria bom que tivesse legenda disponível.
Subtitles for what silence 😂
Legenda pra que?? O cara não fala nada kkkkk
Very beautiful work on the gun
Probably the most Unsafest way to mess with the slide . You should have used the machine you have on your table that held the pistol while you beat it with the hammer since the beginning. You never now if that gun is capable of firing. Even in its worst condition
Tape was on the mag to keep it in the gun. It was a common problem with the bodyguard.
Thank you for letting me know!
I like how that brass is not even brown from oxidation 😂
even better is the blue "rust" on steel lol
The best vídeo,Very nice job.
Love to know the origin of the gun, how it came to be in that condition.
@@LF12468 I sure hope not, that would be pretty lame.
He most likely did this to it himself for a vid. All the restoration vids on stuff like this do it. The only real ones are the antique restorations where it's proven where they got it from.
its amazing how much polymer can rust over the decade since it was manufactured.
@@tylernicoll6911 what
Either somone found it somewhere, or he left it out buried on purpose for vid.
Тоже такие мысли.
I was thinking how such a newish gun got so bad. I could see if it was literally dropped in a field for a year or pulled out of creek. But then why does the mag not have rust?
or its jus his occupation 💀
Your a hater
Dude he's still restoring the firearms as if it matters where they come from he's still doing the work.
Реставрация дамских пистолетов приносит успех почти как новый
Hope this isn't a fake
Looks like a a 380 sinma auto matic hand gun you did a good job restoring in.
These restoration videos are fake.
How lol
This is Keith that’s a crime weapon tape is used so you don’t hear any rattle in your pocket before you use it
boiling rusty metal parts in water can both lossen up rust and bring back some of the blued finish
Fake rust when you see rust on plastic it's definitely not a real restoration unless that wS mud
Second vid I've seen with the pistol coated in the same yellowish muck.. That and the cz fall into a tin of muddy yellow paint or something?
Why would you do this? It's one thing to fake the vids for views but loading it then intentionally weakening the internal components is asking for a AD, or I guess an ND because you caused it.
The tape on the magazine might have been the owner’s way of indicating the ammo type in the mag. Hollow points or FMJs. I’ve seen people put color tape on magazines to label carry mags or practice mags. Just a thought
And when you put stuff back together, you have to use grease, or Lucas gun oil for the pens under the rear sight or front sight
That's a S&W Bodyguard 380 like the one I've had since 2017. Great little CCP for summer carry with light clothing.
You're cool! Most of all, take care of yourself. The way you used the hammer on a loaded gun made the hairs on my back stand on end. :) As for the duct tape. I think his magazine got wobbly.
WELL DONE SON, GOOD JOB...👍.
That sight pusher is a LOT nicer than the one I have. I bought might to put an optic plate on my Taurus G2C and fiber sights on my Springfield XD9.
You should test fire them if you can find or already have the needed facilities and permits. It would def boost the views
Great content tho
I had one of those stolen from me awhile back. Three years later the police called and said I can pick up my gun.
When I got it back it was in rough shape. Not like the one here but still took the better part of a day to get it functional.
You can apply more than one coating of cold blue, you just apply, rinse, degrease, dry and apply again until it's as good it's going to get, then oil.
Wow! Very impressive! Great job!
Thank you very much!
❤👌
Seems to be a lot of experts in the room
As always amazing work, but on this video I have to say that a warm blueing (with chemicals and boiling water) that is easy to do at home, would got better results on the slide.
