The way you outlined and gave a blueprint of how these scams work was impeccable! Most people leave out these details. So much info here that everybody needs to hear!
Stay away from zelle and cash app simple! Or other traffic app too
Good info on Zelle scam. As far as them accessing your bank account, you want to setup set up your phone for 2-way authentication. Anytime they try to log in with your info from a different device than you normally log in from, you are forced to verify the log in through a security code they send to the phone or email set up on the account that you then have to put in to verify it is you.
Never pay anybody you don't know if they tell you to pay them through Cash App, because once you send them your money and get scammed, you can't get your money back unless you send them a refund request and they accept it, which they're most likely not, this is why scammers are so attracted with this app. It's always recommended to pay someone you don't know through PayPal, that way if you do get scammed you could get your money back by filing a dispute.

I had people send me massages saying they are interested in a item listed on BST. They wanted to send Zelle and they were sending son, cousin, friend to pick up item, I didn’t allow it, and told them I want cash at pick up. So what do you suspect they were trying to do? They wanted t send Zelle payment
If Zelle funds or account is stolen, the true owner of the account will dispute and Zelle will reverse the payment- take the money sent to you back. The person picking up is a lackey not directly tied to the scammer or is a sca, victim themselves, Zelle is not cash.
If you go through zelle and Zelle is used through your bank how is it not traced and your bank is not responsible to help get your money back?
Zelle’s tos says it’s irreversible
But i have heard that they have reversed funds when the owner claims account was stolen.
Only when the media embarrasses the bank. They have no.protections built in for.the consumer. No liability for the bank.
Someone sent me $2500 is probably scam should I pull out all my money and cancel my bank account?
We should go back to old school banking. And do away with n line banking. The old way banking is better..

As a fraud analyst everyday I see so many zelle out / in , with so much money going out and coming in it's like what are they doing to get this much money. I can usually tell it's fraud when they're zelleing it out right away or somebody's account is just full of zelle Payment nothing else
Someone randomly sent me $40
Been a week. Called my bank and tried to say to cancel and they didn’t.
Now my account has an extra $40 and nobody asked for it back.
Why Zelle requires a password before you can send money?
