Not racial profiling, but it’s the culture. I work with Indians all the time in the transportation industry and even in legit business they act the same way. Once again, this is an observation, no issues with Indians. I have noticed that business is just a bit different as far as etiquette, scammer or otherwise.

I just got a call from “Apple Support” I connected and after the hello I said; “Hello this is Scammer Payback, Pierogi speaking how can I help you?”, and the response was them hanging up immediately. Thanks so much for everything you do!!!
@@ItachiUchiha-mh8hn there are legitimate tech support centers you can call, but keep in mind that **they will never reach out to you first** in any way shape or form, and governmental bodies wont contact you beforehand through the phone/popup ads on your computer, but if you still arent sure you can always go the in person route, always have someone to talk to who is knowledgeable in this category.. the biggest strength against scammers is knowing how their scam works.

My mom got taken by these guys for $3K. Not a fortune or even a lot in the big scheme of things, but it was devastating for her. These guys are a plague on society, so seeing you settle the score a bit brings a lot of satisfaction.

xD what someone needs to do, is create a business that redirects scam calls to old people who have been told they will be talking with scammers. that way, old people can talk to someone, and scammers talk to someone for 4 hours but do not get anything in the end xD

These guys are fully capable or working other jobs, but they "LIKE" to sin against others and refuse to have faith that doing the right thing would work out better for them. Aren't there other voice changers he could try? I think it would be more productive to get on the line, connect the computers, download as many files as possible, delete their files, hang up, change the voice setting and call back to another number. Deleting the files seems to be the best punishment we can hope for in the short term. Of course once in a while he could go through the whole process to get a mule's address to investigate.

I get so excited when I get scam calls on my or my partner’s phones. My partner brings his phone to me to answer. I get SO excited to pick it up, lead them on for the couple seconds, then GUILT TRIP AND YELL. Fantastic outlet

Gather a group of 3-4 people, form a unit, and then try. It's heartbreaking to see people in their 60s being duped by such people. It's heartbreaking to see how little humanity remains. First of all these scammers have literally nothing to loose. Earning 20-25k inr per month isn't something they really care about. Hence, they feel that someone in america cannot reach us physically. But these youtubers have made a very good growth in catching these scammers. Sometime and scamming might just stop because of these youtubers which is lovely.
The small-talk as an 81 yr old woman was so spot on lol. I used to work at a call center as a licensed health insurance agent, selling AARP Medicare Supplement Plans and Medicare Part D and spoke to elderly people all day long. There were so many who would call in just to have somebody to talk to because they were lonely. When you said nobody gives you birthday cards anymore with that old voice, it really brought me back. I’d hear things like that daily. These scammers are so disgusting to prey on these lonely elderly folks who are on such a tight budget.. and to hear the lack of give-a-fuck with their snide comments and childish rantings of basically just whatever “bad words” they know in English really makes me so appreciative of the work you do. @TudorStephen I’m not sure if you’re familiar with call centers (seems not), but many are used for legitimate businesses. As I stated above, I was a licensed health insurance agent. The company paid all of my licensing fees and I was licensed to sell health insurance in all 50 states. I scammed nobody. I sold supplemental health insurance plans and Medicare part D (prescription drug plans) to people on Medicare. The plans were insured by United Healthcare, who were affiliated with AARP. My employer at the time was the Hartford. Go ahead and look them all up if you wish. You will see they are all legitimate companies who’ve been around for a very long time. I took pride in my work and spent a lot of time making sure each person got the plan that was right for them. And if our drug plans weren’t the best for them, I was nice enough to let them know that as well and gave them information on who to call to get the best plan for them. Have a great day! 👋

This part of the video actually gave me a really good idea why doesn't someone create a website we're lonely people can post that it's their birthday or a memorable day coming up. Send anonymous people can wish him a happy birthday or send condolences notes to them on the site. No direct communication between the two so that no one can scam them. And a monitoring system so that nobody can know who the other person is. Maybe have everyone register an account before they can send messages or receive them.

It's so cringeworthy when I hear the insults that they throw at me after I waste their time and expose them when they call me that I have to hang up. They will go on and on and on and on saying the same exact thing too. You would think that after calling me 50 times a day for a decade they would get the message and stop calling me especially considering the countless hours of their time I have wasted.

They didnt transfer any money to him, thats the scam, they make it seem like they "accidentally" sent a large amount of money to the person getting scammed and then convince the person to send back the money that they "accidentally" "transferred"
One of my best friends was just scammed and they took his retirement fund. he has to go back to work now at 73 years old. Thank you for tearing these guys up.
I know two people here locally personally that were financially ruined by these kinds of scammers. One a retired widow that lost her entire retirement and another father who lost everything including his family over this crap. Don’t stop.

I got a robocall from "Europol" this week. I immediately hung up. If i was more trusting they might have gotten information. This just shows how vulnerable people are. Keep doing what you do and expose those annoying Scammers.

Thank you for doing what you do, unfortunately my 71 year old dad fell for the amazon Prime scam that's been going around. Sadly I was at work otherwise they wouldn't have been able to scam him. They had my dad on the phone for over 4 hours, got onto our computer and they got away with $29,800 from my Dad's bank account. These people are sorry excuses for human beings! While the scammers who got my dad will probably never get caught and face justice, it is nice to know there are guys like you out there trying to stop these scammers, and save and protect while like my dad.
Wow, that's an incredible amount of money. My ex husband got scammed this summer out of nearly 1000. and he's 70, it was like he was mesmerized by the scammers although my daughter and grandson kept telling him they were scammers. He just kept saying be quiet to them, that he was taking care of things, something about a warranty on the car I think. After they took his money he came out of his daze, was contrite, couldn't believe he listened to the scammers. They maxed his credit card but didn't get his bank info because my grandson hung up the phone. Crazy to know these scammers exist.
I tell everyone do not trust anyone over the phone, do not ever give access to your computer, or passwords ever, If they want somethign I will go into their office and do it there manually.

@@DailyShit. Maybe not to the level of getting the scammers arrested, but he does pass on all the info he gets from the scammers (e.g. bank account numbers) to the proper authorities. Iirc, he also has a team working behind the scenes that calls the victims on the scammer's lists and warns them. He usually only mentions it at the end of videos though, it's obviously not the main focus.

I got a message on my machine today that my bank account had been frozen due to unusual activity. I listened carefully to the phone number they wanted me to call and knew immediately it was a scam, because the area code was wrong. I checked my online statement just in case and found no problems there. Thank you for all you do to educate us!

I got an IRS scam call the other day. I wasted 10 minutes of the scammers time before they figured out I was aware of them and they hung up. Wish I had the skills to scam them for $46k, but wasting their time was satisfying nevertheless.
They dont actually transfer the money. They edit the website through inspect element (?) and just alter the value shown. Why should they bother to send him actual $46k just for him to send it back?
That’s ten minutes they weren’t talking with someone’s grandparents or someone whose tech illiterate or has a handicap. Those are precious minutes where someone’s life wasn’t ruined. It’s not much but it’s something.

people need to bring back public shaming to fix this problem. get them locked up in stocks in their town square and invite their family/friends to come. then get jailed pedofiles to go on a field trip to the town square, and let them take turns on the scammers. that would clean up the problem almost instantly

I'd really like to see more being done to these scammers. Since legal systems aren't doing much, I have no problem if they'd infect their devices with malware and such, make their equipment into a doorstop. Drain their bank accounts. These people are pure evil and despicable, literally ruining people's lives. No empathy or mercy for them.

There are people who are born without conscience. My brother is a psychopath. There are some people who are evil, who feel no conscience, or pity for others. Some work in scam call centres. Some go into politics.
What you need to recognize though is that these people really aren't hacking they are social engineering there is a big difference and no matter what you do as a cyber security expert you will never be able to stop a great social engineering campaign because people are the problem not the technology that's not to put blame on any of the victims but just understand the difference when trying to develop policy in your field

@@GreaseLightning02 if you really want to protect your loved ones, it takes time but it works, enable MFA for them on sensitive accounts and have the multi factor device be your phone not theirs. And tell them this so that they know to call you to get the code or pin or whatever

Big thanks to this channel because it finally happened to my wife and I. We woke up this morning to a $2000 PayPal statement that looked legit but we didn't make this purchase. The name on it was Deborah Godwin and a phone number that had been disabled. We called PayPal and they told us it's the new scam since the phishing emails and phone calls don't work anymore, they are now manipulating invoices and trying to scam that way! Thank you Pierogi for all that you do!!!

I agree, American government should put pressure on India via their embassy or other channels to get these buggers arrested. As an Indian and someone who works in IT this activity gives a bad rep to all of us.
Homeland is involved, its just that their priorities put these scammers near the bottom and other crimes that involve the direct lives of Americans at the top priority. As horrible as these scammers are, they dont directly kill people, they steal money like a bank robber from an old lady. There are worse crimes that get their attention (namely domestic terrorism and the failed drug war)

Not racial profiling, but it’s the culture. I work with Indians all the time in the transportation industry and even in legit business they act the same way. Once again, this is an observation, no issues with Indians. I have noticed that business is just a bit different as far as etiquette, scammer or otherwise.

@@ItachiUchiha-mh8hn there are legitimate tech support centers you can call, but keep in mind that **they will never reach out to you first** in any way shape or form, and governmental bodies wont contact you beforehand through the phone/popup ads on your computer, but if you still arent sure you can always go the in person route, always have someone to talk to who is knowledgeable in this category.. the biggest strength against scammers is knowing how their scam works.

I know it isn't on the same level as these scammers, but as an American who lived abroad for most of my childhood (mostly China), I always hated the way some Americans gave all of us a bad name. I work in finance, the amount of people who fall victims to these scams is insane, keep up the good work, the more time they're focused on scam baiters the less time they can target real victims.
My mom got taken by these guys for $3K. Not a fortune or even a lot in the big scheme of things, but it was devastating for her. These guys are a plague on society, so seeing you settle the score a bit brings a lot of satisfaction.

Aren't there other voice changers he could try? I think it would be more productive to get on the line, connect the computers, download as many files as possible, delete their files, hang up, change the voice setting and call back to another number. Deleting the files seems to be the best punishment we can hope for in the short term. Of course once in a while he could go through the whole process to get a mule's address to investigate.

The small-talk as an 81 yr old woman was so spot on lol. I used to work at a call center as a licensed health insurance agent, selling AARP Medicare Supplement Plans and Medicare Part D and spoke to elderly people all day long. There were so many who would call in just to have somebody to talk to because they were lonely. When you said nobody gives you birthday cards anymore with that old voice, it really brought me back. I’d hear things like that daily. These scammers are so disgusting to prey on these lonely elderly folks who are on such a tight budget.. and to hear the lack of give-a-fuck with their snide comments and childish rantings of basically just whatever “bad words” they know in English really makes me so appreciative of the work you do. Thank you for being a sincerely great human being.

@TudorStephen I’m not sure if you’re familiar with call centers (seems not), but many are used for legitimate businesses. As I stated above, I was a licensed health insurance agent. The company paid all of my licensing fees and I was licensed to sell health insurance in all 50 states. I scammed nobody. I sold supplemental health insurance plans and Medicare part D (prescription drug plans) to people on Medicare. The plans were insured by United Healthcare, who were affiliated with AARP. My employer at the time was the Hartford. Go ahead and look them all up if you wish. You will see they are all legitimate companies who’ve been around for a very long time. I took pride in my work and spent a lot of time making sure each person got the plan that was right for them. And if our drug plans weren’t the best for them, I was nice enough to let them know that as well and gave them information on who to call to get the best plan for them.

This part of the video actually gave me a really good idea why doesn't someone create a website we're lonely people can post that it's their birthday or a memorable day coming up.
Send anonymous people can wish him a happy birthday or send condolences notes to them on the site. No direct communication between the two so that no one can scam them.
And a monitoring system so that nobody can know who the other person is. Maybe have everyone register an account before they can send messages or receive them.

The way that scammer was so proud to tell everyone watching this video that he successfully scammed someone for $22000 just made me think that how can he.....heck how can anyone live while being like that?....... I got a robocall from "Europol" this week. I immediately hung up. If i was more trusting they might have gotten information. This just shows how vulnerable people are. Keep doing what you do and expose those annoying Scammers.

Thank you for doing what you do, unfortunately my 71 year old dad fell for the amazon Prime scam that's been going around. Sadly I was at work otherwise they wouldn't have been able to scam him. They had my dad on the phone for over 4 hours, got onto our computer and they got away with $29,800 from my Dad's bank account. These people are sorry excuses for human beings! While the scammers who got my dad will probably never get caught and face justice, it is nice to know there are guys like you out there trying to stop these scammers, and save and protect while like my dad.
Wow, that's an incredible amount of money. My ex husband got scammed this summer out of nearly 1000. and he's 70, it was like he was mesmerized by the scammers although my daughter and grandson kept telling him they were scammers. He just kept saying be quiet to them, that he was taking care of things, something about a warranty on the car I think. After they took his money he came out of his daze, was contrite, couldn't believe he listened to the scammers. They maxed his credit card but didn't get his bank info because my grandson hung up the phone. Crazy to know these scammers exist.

@@DailyShit. Maybe not to the level of getting the scammers arrested, but he does pass on all the info he gets from the scammers (e.g. bank account numbers) to the proper authorities. Iirc, he also has a team working behind the scenes that calls the victims on the scammer's lists and warns them. He usually only mentions it at the end of videos though, it's obviously not the main focus.

I got a message on my machine today that my bank account had been frozen due to unusual activity. I listened carefully to the phone number they wanted me to call and knew immediately it was a scam, because the area code was wrong. I checked my online statement just in case and found no problems there. Thank you for all you do to educate us!

I got an IRS scam call the other day. I wasted 10 minutes of the scammers time before they figured out I was aware of them and they hung up. Wish I had the skills to scam them for $46k, but wasting their time was satisfying nevertheless.
They dont actually transfer the money. They edit the website through inspect element (?) and just alter the value shown. Why should they bother to send him actual $46k just for him to send it back?
That’s ten minutes they weren’t talking with someone’s grandparents or someone whose tech illiterate or has a handicap. Those are precious minutes where someone’s life wasn’t ruined.

I'd really like to see more being done to these scammers. Since legal systems aren't doing much, I have no problem if they'd infect their devices with malware and such, make their equipment into a doorstop. Drain their bank accounts. These people are pure evil and despicable, literally ruining people's lives. No empathy or mercy for them.

What you need to recognize though is that these people really aren't hacking they are social engineering there is a big difference and no matter what you do as a cyber security expert you will never be able to stop a great social engineering campaign because people are the problem not the technology that's not to put blame on any of the victims but just understand the difference when trying to develop policy in your field

Big thanks to this channel because it finally happened to my wife and I. We woke up this morning to a $2000 PayPal statement that looked legit but we didn't make this purchase. The name on it was Deborah Godwin and a phone number that had been disabled. We called PayPal and they told us it's the new scam since the phishing emails and phone calls don't work anymore, they are now manipulating invoices and trying to scam that way! Thank you Pierogi for all that you do!!!
