- #SCAMALERT selling my camera on #Facebook marketplace and some scammers try to get my money via @Zelle transaction... they even sent me a nice fake email from Zelle #staysafe #fightonlinefraud
You just saved me from this happening. I was wondering why a girl was being so adamant about paying me before seeing the item in person. THANK YOU!
Word for word what a lady just told me! I’m so glad that I saw your video. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video!! I had someone very interested in an item I’m selling. Same story that a cousin would be picking up and he can only make a venmo or zelle payment. I’m glad I came across your video!
I just had this and said her husband would be picking it up
Wow, you explained that very well. I think I nearly got involved with something like this. I'm noticing this trend of, "I'm sending someone else to pick it up"; and also, offering to pay me before they can even visually and physically inspect the item. (I'm selling at the moment). There are sharks out there; you just gotta know how to spot them and spot those who are more likely to be legit.
Trying to create another stream of income; but never knew so many things were involved. I'm learning a ton every day! It's great.
Thanks for the video. And like I said...awesome, clear communication of what went on, on both ends.

Thank you so much bro. Just had an encounter the same way you just described it and almost fall for it.
This exact thing just happened to me. Word for word!! Thank you
This is exactly what they were trying to do after listing a product -- great video, Dave!
Thank you! Just set up Zelle and am experiencing the same thing! Thank you so much for sharing
Thank you so much for your video.
I put a table on market place yesterday and got flooded with people insisting on me putting Zelle on my phone.
Crazy! They would not take no as an answer.
Bro thankyou so much! This literally just saved me bro!!!!
Posted a few wheels on fb marketplace and somebody immediately contacted me and this is exactly what happened. I got super suspicious and decided to look it up and thankfully I found this video 😭
Same
Thank for you posting this informative video, this has happened to me today & it’s annoying, discouraging & a waste of my time.
Great, Dave, I’m sharing this so people be careful 👍🏻
My dude, thanks you so much for this video. My wife and I were going thru the exact same situation. Thanks for posting this. I sent them your Video, then they stopped messaging me.
Thank you for sharing this!! You saved me. I had someone contact me through Facebook Marketplace and it was the same scenario. I quickly did a search for Zelle scams and found your video. I called the guy out on it and then blocked him. 😂
This just saved me and it was the same exact conversation too. Crazy. Thanks!
This Is Literally Happening To Me As I’m Typing This. Got That Email And Instantly Came To UA-cam To Check Out Others Testimonials Glad I Clicked On This Video 🙏🏽 Thank You Bro
Thank you for this! Just happened to me as well. Thankfully watched this video first
I had someone say the same exact things you said to me. This video saved me thank you
Wow this saved me from getting scammed! Something seemed off when they were persistent I use Zelle! Thank you for this!
Yup. Just ALMOST happened to me. Same thing with the cousin. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for this!!! I knew my buyer felt off lol
Thank you so much, I sell stuff on Facebook marketplace and I get paid in cash when they pick up the stuff but out of the blue, someone wanted to zelle me the money and I said no I can't I take cash for exchange for the product and they where texting me like they where pissed, and I saw your video and understood why, they wanted to scam me. Thank You ..
Omg thank you so much something like this was happening to me as I was watching your video so as soon as I saw how similar it was then I blocked them after calling them out on their BS. I’m so relieved that scammers are so lazy they need to use the same script to trick people out of their hard earn money 😂
Thank you for this video!! You saved me from having fraudulent transactions in my account. I was selling something on Facebook Marketplace and someone was very persistent to buy it and send me the money before seeing the item. After I told them to send me the money once they see the item. They were very rude. They ask me for my phone and email and I was like ok this is a scam. 👍🏼👍🏼😎
Literally just saved me as we speak !! Glad I did a google search something just seemed of thank you so much man!!
This is me right now! Same story!😅 such a lifesaver! Thank you!
Thank you so much! Someone is attempting to do this to me right now!
Thank you thank you thank you! I just got this lady doing the same thing to me on Facebook market place. What threw me off is that she offered to come pick it up in 1hr or 2 when where we live it's already 9:30pm. So I realized there is something fishy! then she said I am away but my nephew can come pick it up. I was like oh really your nephew is going to come get it at 10:30pm at night. Why couldn't it wait until tomorrow? Anyway very fishy situation and she was so pushy on doing it through Zelle.
Yeah, this just happened to me. I think that I will be able to handle it by asking for cash. THANK YOU!!!!!
THIS JUST HAPPENED TO ME! Thank you for posting
Someone just reached out to me with the same scam punch line. Thanks for the info. God bless!!
This just happened to me !!! 2 people try do the same thing!! Thank you 🙏🏻
well done. you saved me, thank you. I didnt have a good feeling about the buyer that I had. I would be leary of cash app too. They wanted to use either one.
Same thing literally just happened to me like 20 minutes ago!!!! I was coming to UA-cam to see if this was a common scam or what. Smh 🤦🏻♀️
Me too!
Thank you my good man! Somebody just tried the same thing with me. On Facebook marketplace. But she came from Instagram, which in my opinion; is the new Backpage. So sad, people can be so dishonest. Again thank you.
Literally same 🤦♂️
Same. We didn’t fall for it. I don’t know what’s wrong with people.
Me too! Right now this guy is texting me on messenger!
thanks for sharing this. I'm selling a bed frame and literally this lady says her cousin will come get it today (completely ignoring that I need a few days to take apart the bed) and she kept wanting the email attached to my Zelle. However I attached my phone number to Zelle, and this seemed to upset her. finally I said her cousin can bring the cash after the weekend when he picks up the bed.
Selling a lens on FB marketplace and had the exact same situation play out, down to the person saying their "brother" will pick it up. I didn't get past the initial couple messages before thinking it was a scam, but couldn't see how they were going to profit. Thanks for the helpful video!
This just happened to me too so glad I decided to Google first. Same story insisted on paying me through Zelle and cousin was going to come pick up before seeing item. Thanks for posting this video.
Dude it just happened to me right now.
the zelle mail was in my spam.
i was getting suspicious.
i read it, saying i have to refund him 300.
I'm like wtf?
getting sus.
so i played along and send him screenshots.
he gave me this bogus email.
another dead giveaway.
and that person keep texting me wanting the 300 back.
i quickly look up on video about this subject and came across this video explaining the whole scam.
my sent for 300 was place on hold.
the slimey balls was telling me it was for a cousin so i can send him 300 faster.
im like nope.
cause i just got done watching this video.
called my bank and tell em i was scammed.
to cancel the transaction.
the slimey scammer was so impatient.
I just now almost got scammed🤣 thanks for the info. The lady literally said everything you said.
Bro same did you ever get your money back
This just saved my ass as well. Huuuuge thanks!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you sooooóoo much!!! After calling Zelle and wasted my time because I only got the automatic system I came here to see if this scenario was a scam??? Because I was at that time in the same situation and didn't know what to do!!! Until I found your video!!!!! Thank youuuuuuu so much!!!!
Bro this guy tried that to me just now thank god I found this video ur a life saver
Just happened to me within the hour. Thanks for the video
Yeah I'm glad you caught on any it starts send me
2oo or more RED FLAGS
thank you for this video this happened to me and i got lucky that my attempts at sending them money didnt work and this video gave me alot of peace of mind after blocking them
Hey Dave, thanks so much for posting this - exact same thing just happened to me but since I’d just watched your vid, confidentially told them the “deal” was off. Also an Instagram account cross app communication. Also both contacted me within a few minutes of listing going live. Bad grammar throughout was a classic tip off. Wanted to pay me up front.
You saved me I was just about to do this but I have so many red flags I had to look it up
MY MANNN YOU JUST SAVED ME THANK YOU SO MUCH 🎉
Same thing happened to me. The person was very polite during conversation. However, the same story, the person's cousin is going to pick up the item, but she insisted on sending money through Zelle. Blah, blah, blah. My major concern is that I provided my phone number, email, and resident address to this stranger who I don't know. I have put myself at risk for other scams because of the information this person has about me. I am going to notify my bank to let them know to monitor my account so that I am not scammed out of any monies. Good for those that smelled a RAT!
Thank god I watched this! Thank you.
This happened to me twice on Facebook marketing but I was ahead of the scammer,
these people will swear that they are not scamming you when indeed they are.
Someone was being really pushy and persistent last night about trying to get me to accept Zelle as a payment form for an item I listed, and I smelled something rotten and started googling zelle-related scams, bc I knew something suspicious was up with this "buyer."
Their english/syntax was pretty iffy, as well. Super pushy. Kept texting me from.about 7 p.m. till. 3 a.m. (ffs), badgering me to open a Zelle account, until I told them.I would block.and report them for harassing me.
Thank you for your helpful video.
I am having this issue right now and red flags went up
I almost had this exact thing happen to me today. Thankfully I told him no.
Wow, thanks for sharing, this is happening to me right now. :)
Thank you. I'm experiencing it right now
man i almost got caught in this just now. thanks for posting this. i got the fake email
I found your vid like most others-while the scam is happening to me in real time. The conversation strung along for a bit. I was making it known I’m wary of scammers. Kept getting replies until I said I’ll only take cash, no zelle. Silence after that.
That’s crazy I had this happen to me today !
I did too!! It happened two days in a row!! I’m glad I’m not the only one! I felt like an idiot!!!!
This video just saved me from been scamed . Trying to sell something off Facebook marketplace, and the buyer told me the same thing , I quickly came on online and boom I came across your video. Thanks once again. Have blocked the person.
Posted a couch on FB marketplace this morning. Within 30 mins, had 5 people wanting to Zelle in advance for the couch. Looked up their profiles and every single one of them were shady. Googled it and came across this video!
Funny how I just had this same experience.....Thank you for this.....
I literally just got scammed for $150 this same exact way. I feel like an idiot. You’re correct all the red flags I saw after the fact.
sorry to hear. i dont sell much on fb marketplace and dont really use zelle much either. I lost $270....I hope these low lives get what's coming to them!
Just happened to me!!!! Did you ever get your money back
@@cesar-kq7zd nope. It’s direct deposit, so no getting it back. These people are scum.
Bro you just saved me. I gave my info for the zelle transfer(except my account number) and then I got that email and I was hold up! 😅 so I blocker afterwards.
Same thing just happened to me thanks for this info
Than you my wife almost just did 300 dollars. Thank you
THIS JUST HAPPENED TO ME OMG!! THANK YOU
You saved me bro I appreciate it
Yo im glad I saw this someone literally just tried to do the same shit
This just happened to me 2 hrs ago. I got suspicious when they claimed they had to sent me additional $750, but in return I would to sent them back $700 to collect my $1000 for the item I was selling. I almost took the bait, but thankfully they gave me a wrong email. Be careful out there.
👆👆⬆️⬆️I also fell victim to one recently, lost close to 3000$, but hopefully i was able to get it back through the name written up here 👆👆.
Y’all can reach him out through the name written above 👆 he should help you guys also .
I have a listing since yesterday. I have 2 people insisting they pay me with Zelle. Because it seemed strange, in my researching I found your video.
This scam just happened to me. Like minutes ago. I had an odd feeling when the conversation started. Glad I found this video! I was smart enough not to click the link.
I'm glad you've found this video helpful.
Thanks a lot,
I get these all the time. These scammers have no shame or ever give up.
I got the same thing, it was a female and she said her cousin would pick it up.
Same thing happened to me last night. Guy only had an instagram account and we very pushy wanting my Zelle information. His brother was going to pick it up tomorrow but he needed to send the money tonight. When I told him that I would give out the info when his brother showed up - crickets. I told him I don’t give out personal info. I blocked him and then reported him. Had another lady reach out to me and she was totally cool. Had a FB profile I could check out and did the Zelle transaction when she arrived to pick up the item. So I will use Zelle but only when the person arrives to pick up the item. These scams are getting ridiculous! It feels like you can’t trust anyone. Sad, so sad.
Yup I go one of these myself
I am selling something on Facebook marketplace and I had three people immediately contact me and me I want to send you money right now and I’ll just install it it’s easy to install I have Venmo and they said no no no Duval here and do Zell it’s really easy and they said it’s OK just bring cash oh no I can’t my girlfriends gonna pick it up no send money with her oh no issue with her bank… And then the lightbulb went on this seems very odd and did a quick search and found your UA-cam video and it’s solidified that something Shirley was going on. Thank you so much
You saved my butt thank you
Wow just put something on market place atleast 3 ppl have asked if I use zelle, this is crazy tu for sharing!!!
This helped me just now.
You saved my bank account 🙏🏾✨
Thank you family literally just saved me. Good looks.
Thanks I started to realize it was a scam figured it had to be a video to match. Voila! here you are saying verbatim word for word everything this scammer named Giovanni on fb said with a picture of a couple and this page is older than 2014 with someone's family on it and a few likes making it someone what believable in the beginning. Thanks again for sharing ❤
This just happened to me, the exact same thing. Thanks for making this video!
Thx someone is trying this right now
Crazy, I am selling new laptop so 2k, and I get over a dozen people trying to scam me in a couple hours. All of them wanting to pay in advance! looks like CASHapp also can be a scam. Big red flag, why would anyone want to pay in advance.
We found your video in the nick of time👍
thank you bro, almost happened to me rn🙏🏽😭😭☠️☠️
Thanks so much life save same scenario for the most part her excuse for it having to be Zelle was that her debit card wasn’t working so she couldn’t use anything but Zelle
It instantly sounded a little off to me because why couldn’t you give cash to your son who you were going to have come pick it up or go to the bank then or how could you use your debit card to do a payment on cell but you can’t use it for any other apps like right away I knew something was off So then I instantly started watching videos about scamming with Zelle right away
WOW! Just happened to me! Same story with the cousin. Lol
Exactly what’s happening to me right now I’m trying to sell my Pc and these people all want to send in advance and have a friend/family member pick it up 😂
Great video! I just saved my parents at the last second from getting boned like this. Everything you just said happened beat for beat like they are using a script. Something to watch out for is the word “kindly.” Idk about other English-speaking countries but in the US native speakers don’t talk like that, which is what tipped me off in the first place.
Is there anything more that can be done besides blocking and reporting the buyer?
There was a news article and it seems no. In theory Zelle could do an awareness campaign which would cost them money but it doesn’t seem that they’re yet interested in it.
Kindly yeHhh!!!
You are so right, nobody who speaks American English is going to say “kindly.” It’s just not a word that would be normally used in business or financial deals. Some scammer used this word, and all the copycat scammers are using the same script. I’ve seen this word used over and over by scammers trying to get me to send them merchandise for free on ebay!
thank you so much! The person who almost just got me did use the word "Kindly."
THANK YOU
Same thing happened to me this morning thank you bro
👆👆⬆️⬆️I also fell victim to one recently, lost close to 3000$, but hopefully i was able to get it back through the name written up here 👆👆.
Y’all can reach him out through the name written above 👆 he should help you guys also .
Same thing, stupid scammers! More people need to see this anymore
Thanks. This video saves me
This just happened to me. Lol. I caught on though. Pretty much exact same thing that happened to me. 5 other guys I didn't even respond to. mind you this was 3am when the first message came in right after I posted an item on Facebook.
We literally just had the same situation happen. Funny enough they also had a cousin who was going to pick it up. I noticed on their Instagram account they had 0 posts and have over 1,000 followers, something didn't seem right and told the buyer that it's cash only and they couldn't do cash cause their cousin was going to pick it up. Seemed very sketchy, along with that they seems so fastly interested in the item that they didn't care of what it looked like (used item with damage).
Literally could have watched this and saved me I ended up sending the money and the transaction failed good looking out brother👍
