I've noticed that AI voices are great for deadpan comedy too. I think there's a correlation between the two, where Dr Grande is equally incapable of convincing human emotion as an AI is.

People who have been SA and abused as a child or somewhere in their past, can use stories like these as a way of purging and confessing what happened to them without actually saying what happened because they're fearful, embarrassed and ashamed. I know the area of pascagoula and the rednecks and hillbillies who live there. There's no way a deep south, backwoods man would ever confess SA.

The FBI, CIA, and other organizations requiring a security clearance consider it a big deal as many, if not all, use them!

I don't need to see this to know you'll be highly skeptical about it. But there's a lot to the alien/abduction phenomenon you should probably keep an open mind to and research. Happens all over the world to thousands of people with similar elements to their stories.

The recent Netflix show left out much of Calvin’s story, including the reported subsequent encounter. Understandably, this would have led to more doubts from the viewer about the validity of this story. I’ve seen other Netflix productions, notably Unsolved Mysteries, where producers seem to leave out pertinent information in order to craft a narrative.
Always details have to be left out -- since they only have a short window of time to communicate the idea, so (yes) there is always stuff left out as a narrative is crafted and built.
I enjoyed Unsolved Mysteries but the alien related ones were just embarrassing, like you say they miss out large chunks of the story if they don't fit the narrative they're trying to weave.

Why would they call a local Air Force base to report an "encounter with aliens?" Were they under the presumption that the Air Force would immediately scramble fighter jets to their location ready to initiate some sort of man vs alien combat protocol?

Sounds like one guy passed out drunk the other terrified in the dark had a panic attack.
My theory is that maybe a gas bubble popped up from the water and maybe they sucked it up, passed out, and hallucinated. There's a terrifying story of a lake "burping" a massive carbon monoxide cloud or something similar and literally snuffing every person and animal within a certain radius of it.

I think Dr grandes cacti candle are battery powered cuz I've watched them several times and like they never move so there is a plastic you know flame and their battery.
I experience sleep hallucinations pretty much every night. It is absolutely miserable. I think things are happening around me when they clearly are not. That being said, I haven't had full blown sleep paralysis in a very long time.
That must be exhausting. I guess you are not able to mentally control the content of the hallucinations - are you aware that they are hallucinations when they happen?
Are you on Stilnox or other sleeping tablets? They can cause a kind of conscious dreaming, I remember it happened to me on a plane, I was seeing a Calvary charge, very brief though.

@@kingcosworth2643 I take 19 pills a day for psychosis, bipolar, and ocd, but no sleeping pills. Sleeping pills are something I was told not to take under any circumstances.
I used to have such things as well when I went through a very horribly stressful time in my teens. It's happened here and there once in a while but not to the extent that it used to thank God. It's terrifying.

Can you ever do Josef Frizl? He's a jerk from Austria who built a dungeon on his property in the woods, kidnapped his daughter and chained her up one day but told his wife that someone else kidnapped her. He raped her and kept her prisoner and had 6 children thru her. 3 who he raised in the dungeon and 3 who he raised "normally" but told his wife he just found them in the woods and she went with it. Crazy messed up story.
Wow. I've never heard this story, but there was a similar one out of England. Father raping daughter(s), locking kids in a basement dungeon, etc.

So I have some questions (if you have time or at least know something I can watch to explain it). 1. How do polygraphs/lie detector tests actually work? 2. What kinds of things are they alleging to measure (or what do people THINK they're measuring?) 3. Why and how do they not work i.e. why aren't they scientifically accurate? 4. I've heard of stories of people "beating" the test by making some sort of movement but was there ever a time when one of those tests alleged that someone was lying or being deceptive when they were actually telling the truth? This sort of stuff fascinates me. I'm autistic as hell and true crime & criminal psychology is one of my huge "special interests".
Good questions for Dr. Grande. But, if you are sincerely interested, I can guarantee that there are (probably) 50 videos on UA-cam that talk about and answer your questions.
For me, I would answer, but I'm not enough of an expert on polygraphs to give you a well-researched response.
Listening to stories like this, we are so lucky that a handful of geniuses exist to drive technology and human success, when you have people wearing aluminium hats but they think it will save them. Similar thing happened only a couple of years ago so it's not just a 'look at those silly old ancestors who didn't know better' People still think the world is going to end, that sacrifices can save us from unforeseen plagues and human extinction, it's all still going on as we speak.
We also likely have more people today who believe the Earth is flat than we've had for over a thousand years. I think humanity might have peaked and it's downhill from here. 🤣

I recall that time, In the mid 70's, there was always somebody seeing spaceships. In my area, one particular farmer claimed his cattle were being mutilated by aliens. He claimed other farmers all over the state were having the same problem. I had a good friend who's father was our local sheriff, I asked him if all of this was true, he said," well it could be, but I've seen absolutely no mutilated cattle or flying saucers yet." It was a pretty big deal locally. Looking back, it was very parallel to this Pascagoula incident, and alcohol was most likely the assailant.

These guys just had some really great w**d. To celebrate Calvin's first day at work, Charles invited him to share a d**bie down by the river and unwind.
This was an everyday after work relaxation thing for Charles so he was used to the effects. Calvin was a first-time partaker so he passed out quickly. Charles looked down on the passed out lightweight, and gleefully thought, "I'm gonna blow this kid's mind!"
"Calvin! Calvin! Wake up! We just got abducted by aliens! It was wild!" And the legend was born.

I think it more likely that they had a genuine encounter of some kind and described exaclty what happened to them while still in a state of shock.. Much later on, they clearly tried to capitalise on growing and sustained interest in their story along with some considerable (and altogether ridiculous) embelishments.

I remember reading about this story when I was just a teenager; I had half a dozen books on alien encounter stories, though none of them made me laugh quite like your description. If you decide to re-visit this "genre" of events in the future, I would very much enjoy your analysis of the Barney and Betty Hill alien encounter.
