My model P14S had a bracket (thin metal) on the lcd connector that looped around from the PC side of the connector around the LCD side of the connector. You need to pry and flip this bracket off the LCD side side before trying to pull the PC side and LCD side of the connector apart.
Hey there, thanks for your help ! I have spilled oil inside my company dell Latitude 5590 and was wanting you to do a video showing how to disassemble the screen and every layer and clean them individually since the oil is probably on the all the various layers. 1. Not unplugging the battery may burn out the LCD during an install but usually will not harm the motherboard or other computer components. Is it possible something else was damaged or shorted? 2. For a computer that does not turn on, try this video first; ua-cam.com/video/kOBY4k2Mn_k/v-deo.html. Let me know how that goes :)
Good luck with that. Even the professional repairers in my area could not source a replacement screen..I think Lenovo make it hard/expensive to get repair parts.
I have never been unable to find a replacement LCD for a laptop lol. I repair 10-15 laptops a week and have had my shop for over 10 yrs. I dont think the professionals your going to are very professional lol

MY LENOVO IS AN IDEAPAD 3 151GL05 AND I can't seem to find a video on it so I am about to try to fix it so will hope it's similar to some of the ones that have been shown
Thanks for the video. If the new screen (and now the damaged screen too) are not displaying anything after replacement, will i need to replace the video cable? When i connect with HDMI the computer is still working.
I got a simple question. is it possible to upgrade the screen of that specific model you are showing in the video.? I mean can we install a screen with a better resolution? In case it´s possibly, could you please tell me where to get a screen with better resolution that is compatible with this laptop model. I would appreciate your answer a lot. Thanks.
I usually get most of my computer parts on Ebay or Amazon. To find the correct screen can be tricky. You will have to search for the correct size. Most laptops are around 15.6 inches. Doublecheck yours. Then you would have to figure out what size the port on the back side of the LCD is. Usually 30 or 40 pin. Next, make sure the port is on the correct location on the LCD or the LCD cable wont be able to reach it properly. Let me know if you would like more assistance :)
As someone who fixes these regularly, I hate the way Lenovo has designed the LCD unit. It's so easy to break the screen. No matter how careful you are, it's always bit of a gamble if it works in the end, the worst is when you have to replace the camera for example and the panel needs to come off.
I bought the T-80S New Panel Test Tool for Inverter+LVDS cable + TV/Computer/Laptop Repair and the cable do not identify number of pins on the connector cable to the screen, and how do I find which goes where. I have over 100 screens I need to check before selling.
Great video!! My model is 81VS000US IDEAPAD . The scores holding the LCD look like this +. Phillips screwdriver does not work. Is there a special; tool I need./ Don't want to force and strip the screw. Thanks
What if my screen is working but I have to squeeze the bedroom for it to show when I Let Go it stop in a Frozen screenshot and slowly fade away to a black and white or white and dark screen until I squeeze again it will show what's the problem with it
If you have to squeeze the Bezel for the screen to work, I would assume something is loose inside the LCD Assembly. I would get in there and make sure the LCD cable is attached correctly by reseating the connection. Unplug it and plug it back in, making sure its secure.
HI PC Monkey I'm on a Lenovo Ideapad S145-15AST Type 81N3 Do I need any 2 sided tape to do this screen replacement. I saw mentioned that 2 sided tape is needed. Would you happen to know if this is 30 or 40 pin? Excellent video. Thanks, Regards, Doug Ev
I use double sided tape in most of my LCD replacements although with many computers, its not needed. You would have to count the pins on the connector to find out as I cant look that up anywhere. Sry :(
For those with a longer shroud at the bottom of the screen, remember you don't need to remove it to access the LCD. It's very fragile so it's for the best.
Great video. You might be able to offer me some guidance. I have lenovo t5500. The screen will not turn on but it works fine when I connect external monitor. Any advice
Your most likely looking at a bad LCD or LCD Cable. Just to make sure though, make sure all updates are processed as seen here; ua-cam.com/video/DDv2gJDjfOM/v-deo.html
Hello, thank you for the video, I have a question regarding my lenovo laptop. It is a lenovo v15 ADA. The screen was broken and after changed it we noticed that starting it the screen doesn't want to work. Illuminating it with an external light it is possible to barely see the images of the screen but not that much. We thought was the new screen damaged, we changed it, but the problem have not been solved. So we updated the driver and also the BIOS but nothing helped. Have you some idea about why we have this problem? Thank you!
HI there, just got the Legion 5 (2021) - Model 82JU001SFR. But the 120hz screen is a bit washed up (45 % NTSC & 250 cdm) and rather off putting when it comes to brightness and colors, so I wonder if you had any idea of a screen upgrade for my model. Preferably to 144/165hz with G Sync or atleast decent color gamut. Thanks in advance!
I'm having issues if you can help me. I have a Lenovo v15 G2 15.6" I have fitted the replacement 15.6" screen, however I can't lock the bezel back in place because the bottom panel of the screen, where you connect the video cable to, is wider and ends up sitting on top of the screw base. I want to cut down either side of this panel to make it sit in place, however I fear I could end up damaging the PCB in the screen and thus all my efforts are wasted. Could I get some guidance please?
So... The Only necesary thing to Chose a Replacement LCD is 1. Amount of LCD pin 2. Connector Location 3. And The size of LCD to fit with the Frame Am I right? Or can somebody Help me type another requirement I might forgot?
Thats the basics to just replace a broken LCD. Most of my viewers are only concerned with the basics. For gamers or some professionals, they would care about some more technical aspects like the resolution.
I would like to replace my Lenovo Ideapad 330-15ARR with a touchscreen (it has tablet mode and pen input already). Is that possible and if so, what do I need to replace the screen with?
I've got a Lenovo V15 G2 and it's been no where near as easy as this and a nightmare. Just a warning. The hinge is one long thing and has to be very carefully prised up after working it from the back. Had to give up at the moment because it feels like the screen is glued onto the back - any advice here??
Screens are not usually glued to the top cover. They are usually held on by screws to the hinges or hinge assemblies that go up the sides of the LCD. If you could post a video on your channel and then message me back here when you do, I can then view and advise further.

I bought the T-80S New Panel Test Tool for Inverter+LVDS cable + TV/Computer/Laptop Repair and the cable do not identify number of pins on the connector cable to the screen, and how do I find which goes where. I have over 100 screens I need to check before selling.
I enjoyed your video. My Sony Vaio screen went black. How can I fix this? It powers on but I only get black screen
If the screen is black, what are the signs that the computer is on? Lights, Fan, Motherboard or Hard Drive sounds?
Quality video quality accent
Thanks !! Glad this video was helpful :):)
HI PC Monkey
I'm on a Lenovo Ideapad S145-15AST Type 81N3
Do I need any 2 sided tape to do this screen replacement. I saw mentioned that 2 sided tape is needed.
Would you happen to know if this is 30 or 40 pin?
Excellent video.
Thanks,
Regards,
Doug Ev
I use double sided tape in most of my LCD replacements although with many computers, its not needed.
You would have to count the pins on the connector to find out as I cant look that up anywhere. Sry :(
Yes, i got my laptop back!
Great to hear !! Always here to help :):)
For those with a longer shroud at the bottom of the screen, remember you don't need to remove it to access the LCD. It's very fragile so it's for the best.
I nearly threw it in the trash thx 😂
Happy to help :) Always here if needed !!

Thank U
Your welcome !! Happy to help :)
Thank you!
For a computer that turns on but the display does not work, try this video first; ua-cam.com/video/e9iy30J00-k/v-deo.html
Let me know how that goes :)
hey man. i was wondering what model this laptop was?
since i have a similar one
Sorry. The exact model used in this video wasnt recorded :(
HI there, just got the Legion 5 (2021) - Model 82JU001SFR.
So... The Only necesary thing to Chose a Replacement LCD is
1. Amount of LCD pin
2. Connector Location
3. And The size of LCD to fit with the Frame
Am I right?
Or can somebody Help me type another requirement I might forgot?
Thats the basics to just replace a broken LCD. Most of my viewers are only concerned with the basics. For gamers or some professionals, they would care about some more technical aspects like the resolution.
Thank you.

I would like to replace my Lenovo Ideapad 330-15ARR with a touchscreen (it has tablet mode and pen input already). Is that possible and if so, what do I need to replace the screen with?
Which one is the lcd cable/flexible? The one which connect to the motherboard or the one which connect to the lcd?
The LCD Cable runs from the LCD to the motherboard. It connects to both. Im not sure if I understand the question.
@@PC_Monkey so there is only one cable? Thanks for the respond
I want to replace the screen of my lenovo ideapad flex 5 with a 120hz screen will it work as 120hz?
"if you have a microscope or really good eyes and you zoom in" Yall get to zoom in with eyes??
Hi, can I please know which model you have replaced in this video, because mines look like same. Is it Lenovo IdeaPad 320?
The exact model of the computer used in this video was not recorded, sorry :(
What size screen do you have? Also, is it a 30 or 40 pin?
