    I am a real world Airbus pilot with thousands of hours flying the real aircraft and thought it would be fun to have a look at the new detailed simulation of the longest baby 'bus by Toliss as well as the new MSFS a320 NEO. Hopefully you find this useful and it brings another perspective to your simulation. Any thoughts or comments are welcome!

    In the cockpit preparation checklist, each menu is actually a drop down menu. If you click on it it will pull up all the steps of that checklist

    I want to say how thankful I am for this channel. The amount of depth you go in has really given me the confidence to fly the a320 on my own. I want to play as real as possible since it is unlikely that I will become a commercial pilot but with your videos, I feel that I can at least live out my dream on MSFS 2020 as close to real-life as possible. I would love to see more. Thanks again! From South Carolina!

      @@KarlH1980 Well I think he'd be upfront about the fact that MSFS is a new product and just hasn't got the maturity that X-Plane has.

    Thank you. Great stuff as always; very informative. It should be pointed out that you missed a good chunk of the cockpit prep checklist because you didn't scroll up to the top before clicking. The glare shield group is usually what seems to be the top for me and I always have to catch myself because it isn't the start of the checklist. It is a stupid bug. Anyway, the overhead panel flow that you did when "checking for white lights" comprises many of the items that you missed in the cockpit prep checklist. IIRC, what you missed are the RMP checks. There is an item to check SEL off. In the mod, the SEL light is on, so I've been curious as to whether the checklist or the modelling is wrong--as well as what the SEL light actually means.
    Also, the checklist groups need to be expanded (by clicking) to see the individual checklist items. I'm assuming you knew that, but it might be worth calling out to your audience.

    sadly, you kinda made an "overlook" error, on the Cockpit Preparation Checklist - You did not realised that you where scrolled all the way down to the bottom, so you missed the first half. Which isn´t that much of a problem thou, because apart from individual MCDU pages(which you covered partly in a seperate video) it only starts the ADIRS and get´s you the IFR clearence. What i would have wished for, would have been to see an more indepth explanation of the Pedestral, incl. how to work the Radio, Weather Radar and Transponder.

    First of all thank you for your great videos. Made by a real A320 pilot it's top!
    Question: why starting the APU so early since we have the external power available. The engine start (which needs the APU) will come later in the process. Are we not wasting fuel for nothing?

    • @320SimPilot
      @320SimPilot  3 роки тому

      You are very welcome! Using the APU is sometimes required for airconditioning so in hot places or if you need the ventilation then it may be turned on relatively early. But if not then you are absolutely right, we often turn it on much closer to engine start. Thanks for watching!

    With this mod, my autopilot banks hard in either direction and goes nosedown right into the ground. Everything appears to be configured correctly, and I have no idea why it's doing this.

      I have this issue also. If I do the flight planning in the FS flight planning menu and start from a runway, it seems to work normally. If, however, I make any changes to the flight plan in the MCDU, as soon as the autopilot is engaged, the plane will roll hard left until it loses lift and falls out of the sky.

    Hey 320 sim, honestly refreshing on so many levels for me understanding the airbus. Obviously not for real world use :). One of my major issues with proper loading and approach config/execution is an RNAV approach. Innsbruck is a perfect example where RNP is the victor in many descent and approach profiles as to the high and precipitous terrain. Is there any way you could make a video on RNAV arrivals to an RNAV approach transition? As I stated in a previous comment, the embraer I fly here in the states has an extendable line off the final approach course, which lets me “clean up” and then engage approach mode later. Now, in the airbus it isn’t a big deal on an ILS because when you’re on vector you can just activate approach, but let’s say we are vectored off an arrival to an RNAV approach, or for that matter, a feeder routed to an approach from a STAR, how do we activate the approach mode itself? Still wondering and it would be great for me to understand so I can fly into more unique airports like Innsbruck or even KDCA without having to disconnect everything because it “isn’t doing what I want.” Thanks man and I enjoy the heck out of your vids!

    Hey there, I've been binge watching your videos because they are so well done and helpful. Question: I don't quite understand the relationship between batteries+external power+APU and therefore don't have a full grasp of when to do what. Could you explain it briefly?

    • @320SimPilot
      @320SimPilot  3 роки тому

      Hi Thomas, thanks for watching! Quite a complicated question but I'll try a very simple answer which will skip a few things! Batteries power just a very few basic and essential systems if needed. Normally the system is powered by engine electrical generators. If not using the engines the APU can supply electrical power instead (on the ground when parked). However the APU burns fuel and makes noise so a GPU can be used instead to supply the electrical system when parked as it is usually quieter and uses less fuel. I hope this helps!

    • @thomasgkman
      @thomasgkman 3 роки тому

      @@320SimPilot okay I think I understand... So basically you use the batteries to get minimal systems up and the APU started, then use the APU until push and start?

    Really like your videos, thank you for taking the time to do them! If it's not to much trouble, could you show how would the weight distribution be in an almost sold out flight and a 50% passenger capacity? Thank you in advance

    Hi, Thank you for your superb content. I have been totally enthralled by the A320Nx mod since getting MSFS on game pass. I have spent the last few months learning how to fly this aircraft, having flown primarily the Zibo 738. It is great to hear what a IRL Airbus pilot thinks of just how realistic and close to the real aircraft the mod is. I would like to know your thoughts on when selecting ground power avail, does the real aircraft make just as much noise when powering up the avionics and the fans. It seems a little loud. dont get me wrong it is rather immersive to see the aircraft come to life from cold and dark. Is this the latest dev build? I cant wait to see how sim brief gets integrated into the ATSU. Thanks again for your time making these great tutorials for us virtual A320 pilots.

      Hi Steffan, thanks for watching and you are very welcome for the video. The aircraft does indeed make a lot of noise when powering up. The sound of the avionics cooling, fans and other systems are surprisingly loud even when sat on the ground. It is mostly noise of air rushing around being used to keep the screens and computers cool!

      @@320SimPilot Thanks for your reply. I've just purchased Toliss A321 after being somewhat frustrated with MSFS20 AP issue after the last update. I'll be watching more of your Toliss A321 video tutorials. In your opinion how do you rate the Toliss A321 compared to thr real world aircraft. Is it a study level sim in terms of system functionality?
      Thanks again for taking the time to post such great content.

      H i Don, I enjoy both for different purposes. For full airliner experience the X Plane Add Ons are more mature but also more expensive! The scenery and weather in MSFS is stunning especially for sight seeing. The Flybywire mod is improving rapidly though! Thanks for watching and for your kind words.

    I got a problem. The checklist, you have a huge selection. Whereas MY checklist only has the small three things, Before Starting Engine, Starting Engine, and After Starting Engine. What am I missing? And I downloaded that A32NX mod.

    Hey, loving the videos.. just out of curiousity.. what would happen (apart from probably getting sacked), if you were to lift the landing gear/wheels whilst the plane is stationary/on ground? Would it just beep at you and say no, or would the plane kinda pancake onto it's hull(?)

    This is a very helpful tutorial. I’m perplexed at how all of the switches, buttons, etc. in your cockpit are operable, when many in my cockpit (A320Neo) show as “inoperable” when I attempt to engage them. Wonder if I’ve missed an update or set-up procedure. Also, how are you able to have your camera so free-flowing throughout the cockpit? Thanks!

    Possibly a stupid question but does MSFS give you a map of where and what all the buttons and switches are? These videos are brilliant but could feel a bit overwhelming trying to play the game and not having a clue what buttons do etc.

    It would be kinda fun to see what would happen IRL if the gear-leaver was in the "up" position at startup. 😅 Is there no pressure-mechanism in the landing gear that prevents the landing gear for folding up when on ground?
