I've loved the Nick series so far but I'm gonna be honest, he was both most mentally happy (at least visibly) and making the best content when he was making 30-40 minute videos on whatever random topic he was passionate about at the time. Part of me feels guilty because of all the effort he puts in to them but if I'm being honest I'll take a funny 40 minute History Channel video over these 4 hour long videos any day of the week. They're tighter, more entertaining, and clearly less of a burden. Here's hoping 2023 sees the return to this format.

Nickelodeon itself is in a weird place. I can't say I know what their brand is anymore. Like, it was VERY distinct in the 90's and then they pivoted toward tween content in the 2000's. Now...??? I am interested to see what they do with Garfield with that in mind. Like, will Garfield BECOME the brand?

my friend actually preordered the kidrobot garfield plush holding pookie for christmas and i was so happy and started crying when i opened it and still get so giddy when i walk past him (i have him displayed on our couch in the living room) because i have always wanted a pookie plush ever since i was a kid who got into garfield around 2006. plus that plush is in the same pose as my favorite garfield picture of all time because i love garfield holding and caring for pookie. best garfield plush i've seen in recent years and gives me hope for the brand.

There's probably a million comments like this but my photographer brother explained that digital cameras are much more sensitive to infrared light than film, so any radiation-producing light (including like. The fuckin sun. Or fire. Or kitschy electric Garfield lamps) will always look crazy overexposed. That's why the Artemis launch recorded one feed on digital and one feed on the old shuttle cams. The difference is really apparent, and it's also why older films seem to have really vibrant, detailed fire and digitally recorded vids have lots of white/orange blobs. Also I think it's really funny that I have that exact same lamp on right next to me for this. As a fellow garf lover I'm always so happy to see your Garfield content
It's kind of wild to me to see how quickly Nickelodeon has incorporated Garfield as one of its main franchises in terms of appearing in crossover games like Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl and Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3.

Any piece of original Garfield art from the comics has those "triangles" for his cheeks, that you seem to dislike. This wasn't done for Garfield and Friends, but otherwise it's a byproduct of the tools used by Jim Davis to ink the comic. His whiskers and stripes are also triangular brushstrokes. He has the "triangles" when the licensee is using accurate reference, rather than some kid's tracing on Deviantart. *Also, Nermal's stripes are different than Garfield's - they're just simple lines - so that plushie is accurate.

You made a really great point by comparing Garfield to characters like Sonic and Shrek. Both of those characters have seen a resurgence in popularity online and in modern pop culture (the Sonic movies being big hits and Puss in Boots 2 earning glowing reviews and award nominations). I do genuinely think that kind of cultural resurgence is inevitable with Garfield, given whatever Paramount/Nickelodeon will do with the brand in media and even with that new movie with Chris Pratt (regardless of how that one turns out). I’m looking forward to the day when Garfield becomes popular in the mainstream again and folks like me can feel more comfortable openly liking the character.

But the Garfield plush I want to see most is one where Garfield is napping on a giant pooky’s lap like in that panel where he’s dreaming that scenario (and as seen on the tag of the 1981 Garfield and pooky plush)! I bought a car this year and the thing I wanted most to outfit it was a Garfield window clinger. Maybe I should not have expressed it so strongly, because at my door came exactly what I wanted (courtesy of my sister who is known to have a hair trigger with ordering things online). Now in my car I have the modern iteration (with cups removed), the single cupped mini, and the classic 4 cupped Stuck on You plushes. The cups on my larger vintage plush would not cling to my window for this so I transplanted the newer suckers onto him and he hasn’t fallen since. Added bonus for my “red hot lover” little clip plus I also keep in my car. They are everything to me

Throughout the 2000s my Oma (grandmother) still had Garfield window cling plushies stuck to a window near her house door. You made a really great point by comparing Garfield to characters like Sonic and Shrek. Both of those characters have seen a resurgence in popularity online and in modern pop culture (the Sonic movies being big hits and Puss in Boots 2 earning glowing reviews and award nominations). I do genuinely think that kind of cultural resurgence is inevitable with Garfield, given whatever Paramount/Nickelodeon will do with the brand in media and even with that new movie with Chris Pratt (regardless of how that one turns out). I’m looking forward to the day when Garfield becomes popular in the mainstream again and folks like me can feel more comfortable openly liking the character.
You’re so right about Garfield in little outfits! But the Garfield plush I want to see most is one where Garfield is napping on a giant pooky’s lap like in that panel where he’s dreaming that scenario (and as seen on the tag of the 1981 Garfield and pooky plush)! As a huge childhood Garfield fan who also had an Important stuffed bear who I anthropomorphized significantly, his love for Pooky was one of the characters most endearing traits for me
I bought a car this year and the thing I wanted most to outfit it was a Garfield window clinger. Maybe I should not have expressed it so strongly, because at my door came exactly what I wanted (courtesy of my sister who is known to have a hair trigger with ordering things online). Now in my car I have the modern iteration (with cups removed), the single cupped mini, and the classic 4 cupped Stuck on You plushes. The cups on my larger vintage plush would not cling to my window for this so I transplanted the newer suckers onto him and he hasn’t fallen since. Added bonus for my “red hot lover” little clip plus I also keep in my car. They are everything to me
I love how at the end where you only have audio your video recreation makes it look like you're talking with your mouth closed and that just works so well for a Garfield video, since Garfield never moves his mouth
god there is something so funny about quinton pointing to parts of the plush with voiceover when his camera cut out, like the way he makes little facial expressions and hand motions to match the audio, and yet his face looks totally dead the rest of the time fuckin KILLS me. i am also glad ur still here quinton

I've never seen any of your videos before, but this showed up on my recommended vids. I love the energy and enthusiasm you show for Garfield, showing off bits of your collection like this, explaining the history of the character and the brand.. its all really enjoyable to watch. Someone being passionate about something they like is always a nice sight to see, and something I want to bring into my own life some more. Great stuff.

You are hands down my favorite content creator and I thoroughly enjoy everything you put out. 2022 was the toughest year of my life as my father passed away unexpectedly towards the end of 2021 while I was in the midst of planning my wedding. But your videos were one of the few things that really helped me get through the worst of it. I watched your NSU videos and your Bee Movie video literally on repeat for months and I’m so very grateful for the effort that went into them. I hope 2023 brings you as much joy as you have brought me over the years. ❤

Growing up my brother always loved Garfield. I was aware of him but didn't pay too much attention to the orange guy. Now, in the year 2023, I love Garfield primarily because of Quinton. Just following Quinton on social media has caused Garfield to just flood my feed. He is nothing but a chaotic good entity. Thank you for sharing your love for Garfield. I unironically like Garfield!
Throughout the 2000s my Oma (grandmother) still had Garfield window cling plushies stuck to a window near her house door. This video brought back the memories of me walking up the steps and looking at the little Garfield before going inside ^^ it had the nice texture of those earlier plushes. I'm sure it actually was from the 80s and I wouldn't be surprised if she still has it
