I love how Quinton has to establish the second channel isn’t canon to the main one.
It's cause too many people on the internet are dumb.
quinton is the only youtuber to confirm "yes i am still missing i promise"
man
it does suck that every ghost show wasn't successful. even at the time, it was my favorite of the videos of yours that weren't as successful as they should have been, basically right next to the garfield lost media videos.
i mean those were the most influential on actual history but every ghost show was FUNNY as hell

The concept of doing the Homestuck video as a book club over the course of several years is extremely funny and genuinely a brilliant concept. I'm mildly frustrated that I'll likely have to wait a *very* long time to see it, but I respect the vision of making the Boyhood of UA-cam webcomic retrospectives.
If anyone wants a VERY good podcast in this format, I strongly recommend "Homestuck Made This World" by Ranged Touch podcasts -- it's literally done by a pair of literature professors, but in a relatively light and comedic format, and one of whom was actually present for the (now very early) days of the MSPA fandom in pre-Tumblr era, as well as the middle/later Tumblr eras of the fandom.
a video on homestuck where someone is rapidly aging is fucking legendary and hilarious
Hello, Quinton. It's me, the guy who sold you the Animorphs books.
I'm very happy to hear you're still planning to make a video (or several) about the series. I'm also happy to hear you're not rushing them. Take your time, and keep up the good work. :)
You are my biggest hero
God dude, no joke, I've always felt Every Ghost Show was your most amazing, creative and funny work. I'm so sorry to hear it didn't hit like you wanted it to, but I can tell you I loved it a lot.
i feel very similarly !! i absolutely love that video. it’s SO good
Honestly, it's one of my favourite YT bids ever, such a great concept, executed brilliantly
absolutely my favorite of Quinton's videos, I watch it so often
Quinton the History Channel saga is your most rewatchable content, it's really peak video essay I probably watch the whole thing every year or so.
the fucking moe-hitler rant is genuinely my favorite quinton bit ever
110%. I showed them to my 72-year-old father (whose autistic special interest is history, specifically WW2, but who also loves to laugh at conspiracy theories) and he saved them into his "favourite documentaries" playlist and watches them periodically. (He also loves the "Paul is Dead" video.)
Same here. It's probably the video of his I've rewatched the most.
Ditto. It's always fun for me to revisit those. I still can't believe Moe was the leader of Germany and no one knew until Hunting H**ler broke the story. 😉
i can't believe that quinton has found an exact replica of his set inside the big k-mart
It's so funny that people ask "Why" you make long form videos. It's pretty clear to me that filmmaking is your life-long interest.
The podcast that the Neds cast does absolutely killed my interest in knowing anything else about that show and its creation. It was one of my favorites of all time. But the pod is TMI. You are smart to change your content according to the cultural landscape around these topics.
The content that you described as bombs, got me through some very tough times. Regardless of the initial reception, they have value in the experience of making them and their existence for future generations. Being an artist in an algo is hard. Looking forward to your future work.
I feel like a iCarly reboot video needs some time to stew. Ending the Schneider video talking about how Head of the Class got a reboot for one season, immediately cancelled and removed from distribution was really chilling. I feel like any compelling angle you can take on the iCarly reboot might need time to simmer a little bit for maximum effect. I don't want the iCarly reboot review now, I want it in a few years once there's been a streaming bubble collapse or something. Once something like that happens I think it'll be worth it. This is me saying I want it but not for a few years.
Good shout! I concur !
And on that note it might be wise to *make* it now, but *upload* it then, just in case it gets deleted at some point.
I’m sorry, was there not already a streaming bubble collapse? Or were you anticipating another big one?
I agree
It really is a shame that a masterpiece like Every Ghost Show is so unpopular, between that and Quinton Leap I really feel like you're an underrated sketch comic. In any case I hope you enjoy your break, lord knows you deserve it.
It'd be funny to release an iCarly reboot review on TikTok, have the video be like seven seconds and say something like "yeah, it's fiiiiiiiiiiiine"
making the bigfoot video after the every ghost video flopping honestly would have just been lore accurate, they really were trying to come back from the flop
I'm so glad you're dedicating some time to just Be A Guy. Have a good break, Quinton!
I think there are def not enough videos rambling about the death of child-oriented web spaces, so if you ever do a Garfield horror video from that angle, I will totally be there for it. I’d really respect that because to me you are the creator that made me take Garfield seriously again, and I really appreciate that.
Maybe it doesn’t have to be in that context, idk, fwiw it could be a brief return of Fallen Titans or something, but I’d be interested in seeing that kind of video.
Not like i’d be sad if you didn’t make it, though, as the schedule is already stacked. Hope you have a nice break.
@@_remblanc 100% I don't want Quiton to burn out, but I would totally love even a short video just going into detail about it
I absolutely agree. He should do what he wants first and foremost, but if he ever did make a Garfield horror video through that lens, I would be very interested to watch it.
I’m very curious if he has a take on Neopets. It’s had such an interesting, turbulent existence, and yet it’s basically maintained the chill, genuinely family-friendly vibe it had in its heyday. The primary community is adults who played back in the aughts, but they have maintained a commitment to keeping the site child-friendly, to the extent that there is a zero-tolerance policy for even mentioning other social media platforms where adult fans discuss Neo. This is maybe distinct from online spaces specifically for children, but it’s representative of the necessary consideration for how to maintain a safe environment without simply booting 18+ members who are willing to follow the social contract simply because they’ve “aged out.”
quinton’s dad is the light of my life. i’m his biggest fan
Calling Homestuck a "Show" is like a 3 way tie in my mind between 'extremely funny joke about how little of it has been absorbed by osmosis' and 'accidentally mispeaking' and 'genuinley doesn't know the format of homestuck'
All 3 options are equally possible in my mind but i truly hope its the third one because that would be really funny
it does have a lot of animation, it could qualify as a show
It’s a show but it’s just discord group chat messages typed by 13 year old kids
Hearing Quinton talk about Ghost show characters sounds like what Doug Walker would say about demo reel, but with Doug's bitterness replaced by quinton's earnest wishing it could have worked out
I just hope that you're...happy.
I loved the ICarly project, and I would love to still get long videos from you. I adore them as a style
But above all I want you to make things that you're happy making. I don't want to have to worry about you being miserable making shit for us, because who the hell are we?
"Quiet on Set, the Tiger King of Nickelodeon sitcoms" is cathartic to hear. Weird but also not remotely weird that it has a PR campaign for a predator
Are you talking about drake bell? I think its fair to acknowledge his victimhood that wasnt ever acknowledged probably, despite him being charged with a predatory act.
properly*
also like it jst goes to show the cycle of abuse thts so inherent in hollywood culture. its possible and even common for perpetrators of abuse of any kind to have been victims of it in the past
@@katc2040 You're completely right, but the documentary being talked about (as far as I know, it isn't available in my country...) gives about 20 seconds to Bell's own sexual misconduct, and the fact he himself is a survivor doesn't overwrite that. We shouldn't give lenience to sexual abusers because they themselves are survivors of it.
Did you know you can edit your comments? @@katc2040
Woah we found you, you were missing!!
misquotes it and its like 5 seconds into the video

Most adults in the U.S. haven't gotten a 2 month break from work since school. That kind of break is really good
I wish the government could make it mandatory that all employers pay for a 2 month sebaticle for their employees at least once every few years. The health benefits are well worth the investment. But sadly, most only let the higher-ups take that kind of time off, and even then it's rarely paid time off.
Ok I know you said no one would like your take on Garfield horror if you did a video on it but your description of your opinion genuinely sounds like the most reasonable, well-rounded take I have ever heard in relation to this topic. I would defend that video with my life.
same! it was sooo refreshing to hear him say that. i feel so uncomfortable w the way adults treat childrens media online. its super awesome when everyone can enjoy something aimed at kids but i really dont like when people shoehorn adult stuff into it (like w what people did to my little pony), i wish people had more respect for the little ones online :/
@@ciennaquidd6486 Right? Like omg, I had plenty of great experiences as a kid on the internet, but I was almost always forced to deal with adults posting super inappropriate content in spaces for children's/all ages media. Now that I've grown up I have 0 tolerance for that stuff.
@@ciennaquidd6486kids do not belong on the unrestricted internet. That’s a parenting issue
Making "dark" version of childhood media is something I always see as very juvenile.
I too was an edgy 14 years old looking at video games creepypasta, I get the appeal.
But it seems some of those edgy teens never grew up out of this phase and forgot this came out of genuine enjoyment for the medium (for example , I loved lavender syndrome, because it was a different way to show my appreciation Pokemon, for example. A more "mature" one. Even if I would have never admitted it back then)
@@ciennaquidd6486tbf I do think thinking that how shouldn't turn child media into adult media is inherently partially gatekeepy especially since I think it had been done well before [like Scooby doo mystery incorporated even if that's still meant to be fore kids] but I don't know if kids should be exposed to that type of media
Sorry to hear that about the Every Ghost Show video. I liked it, have actually watched it several times. The ending had me rolling
Here's my pitch for an angle on a hypothetical Drake and Josh video: use both the actors as main characters, and look at it from the angle that we as a public audience watch them as competing opposites. They were supposedly irl close and that's how people thought of them for years, until they started to pull apart, and now they're forever in this weird dance of public attention competition where neither is that great. First it was Josh not inviting Drake to his wedding which seemed like a dick move. But then they publicly reconciled. And then Drake Bell shit came out and people said "oh so Josh was right to not want to talk to him". And Josh has had a good career getting into the iCarly reboot, having a spot in Oppenheimer, etc. But then Quiet on the Set came out, and it's (to the public) laundered Drake's image and made Josh look like a dick. And I think it's fascinating (as someone who doesn't give a shit either way) that we're comparing these two people whose lives are constantly moving in completely different directions, because isn't that what the original Drake and Josh show was about? That feels like the right angle to me.
double comment for the youtube gods, i think it'd be extremely funny to drop an icarly reboot video like a year from now when everybody's forgotten it even happened ngl
but if it doesn't happen it doesn't happen, i'd much rather you be able to branch out to what you wanna do. And an Animorphs video will automatically be of greater value imho.
on the fandom space for adults and kids thing. It really sucks, it's bad for adults because sexual or otherwise nsfw content is often seen as unprofitable by advertizers and investors, so fandom spaces can't includes that, so adults are losing their space, meanwhile kids are losing where they can go. Leading to everyone just existing in these big centralized fandom website spaces where it's a dang wild west of inappropriate for kids, but unapproving for adults. All just funneled into places to watch adverts and be tracked xD
Its rly saddening cause - kids deserve a space just to play around and have fun online. And I think the numbers and algorithm format of Twitter/tiktok/instagram I guess/tumblr but less so -> is rly damaging to them. Kids are also on roblox but thats too mysterious to me.
The way that adult spaces are being sanitized//having to be "cleaned up" of nsfw too is pretty stressful, leading to nsfw artists/writers/performers having less means to earn a living or actuallg safely show off their work to people looking for it.
@@ricktasticaI mean for adults they still have reddit and the like to use and kids shouldn't be on the internet in general
I think a video about the lack of child friendly spaces on the Internet and the commodification of these spaces, would be good. I was only ever an outsider to that so your perspective could be interesting
Glad to hear you re-confirming the Homestuck video, I've been wondering about that one for a while. I always see people outside of the fandom approach the webcomic with derision because that's the popular thing to do, so I'm glad that you're approaching from what seems to be a place of curiosity. Hope you have fun with that one!
Can I pitch your dad being in the homestuck book club? i just wanna hear that mans take on it and tbh... the webcomic kinda has your style of humor
I just want you to do more one-off vids in the far future. Your history channel vid is what brought me to your channel and I just loved how u accurately criticized how racist Ancient Aliens is. Again, far future, so take much needed breaks!
So... How about that McDonald's video?
Seriously though, this answers a lot of questions and I'm looking forward to what comes next
I have wanted the iCarly revival video but I just didn’t want to be annoying about it lol. Also, I’m so excited about reviewing obscure Disney Channel stuff! Those types of sitcoms that fall into obscurity and only run for a couple seasons are actually the most interesting
Quinton your description of how you'd do a Garfield horror video that's secretly about the death of the internet sounds incredible, please for the love of God keep it on your list of future videos
Thank you for talking about Animorphs. The community is so tiny, I'm happy whenever I hear somebody speak its name. I believe in you, Quinton. Please thank Mr. Russ too. The Beverly Hillbillies special is some of the most fun I've had on this website.
I think more important then doing videos on shows like Lab Rats, Austin And Alley, etc. is that you inspired the Gen Z UA-camrs to make reviews on those shows. Shows how much influence you have
Ive missed child only spaces so much!! So many online games I half remember like Sticker World or this one where you're just a floating face or even AOL kids. That was the good shit.
I'm sad to hear that Every Ghost Show was such a bad experience for you because it's one of my favorites to revisit. The jokes in that video were fantastic.
Physically I heard the Garfield horror conversation but I missed half of it when the ‘don’t put this in spaces for 8 year olds’ transported me back in time to when I was looking at my little pony stuff on Pinterest (which even then was more sanatized than Google for example) and happened to see a double inc*st r*pe comic. Anyways that experience gave me a rule to never draw anything from kids media with any dirty jokes
Personally I think an interesting angle to go with for a Jessie review is soft of examining it as the Disney channel’s last major hurrah before the death of TV’s popularity, like the show came out when TV was just beginning to enter free-fall in terms of ratings and general public interest and it ended right before cable as a whole was about to enter its final days up to now
Ive personally been looking forward to the Homestuck video for as long as it was a stretch goal essentially so I'm really looking forward to seeing that video finished someday. I really want to know what you think of it, it's a really interesting story that I feel like a lot of people just have not actually given much of a chance just because of its reputation, either due to its fandom or the sheer length of it. It's unfortunate really. Obviously I have no idea what you will think about the comic but I think a video from a creator thats as popular as you without that sort of bias would be really positive. Whenever you get to reading and making the video I wish you a good time and hope that even if you come out the other side disliking it, it will have been a fun read at least as well as an easy production.
I think people seem to see youtube and "content creation" (which is, in itself, a very reductive term to those of us who actually work really hard to create a piece in our craft, be it illustration, writing, video making, music, etc) as a massive pissing contest, and not like someone genuinely passionate about making something or talking about something. That was always my draw to you and other youtubers that make long-form content. I do not give a shit how long your videos are, and I don't think anyone else should, what makes these videos so great is passion and actually caring about what you're telling us.
I have to say, I worry about the way people feel so comfortable saying the nastiest shit imaginable on social media. No one should be looking at you with the amount of animosity that they do just because you put in so much time, energy, and care into creating a video they don't have to watch. It's not fair to you, and I can't imagine it's good for their mental health, either tbh. I hope you're well, despite it all, and I hope that this break helps in every way that you want it to.
I'm glad you're taking a break. It's well deserved. I agree with your Garfield "hot take" and God dammit the "you aged 6 months in 10 seconds" is really funny
I'm admittedly old, but I legit thought Homestuck and Homestar Runner were the same property for years.
I still think about Quinton's Themed McDonalds adventure...
Incredibly i'm a long time tumblr user and i still know close to nothing about homestuck apart for the infamous sharpie cosplay incident
Please stay that way, it's not worth it
@@FunctionallyLiteratePerson not to worry i have no interest 👍
Same, I’ve got the tiniest crumbs of homestuck by osmosis and I think I’m good not ever touching it
I got into Homestuck late and I do think it is worth reading through, but it very much so has big caveats to it. It definitely isn't for everyone.
It has great highs, troubling lows, and a messy mile of meddling mediocrity. It is also very interested in going in many different directions, so how much of it one will consider bad or good will depend on what that specific person likes.
I think that a lot of Homestuck wariness is over blown, especially in regards to the fandom (especially in modern times). Modern Homestuck fandom is very different to the infamous infection it used to be regarded as. For the most part, the fandom is pretty chill now. Though, it is understandable if you don't want to get into it. It is a lot
Sarah Z made a Homestuck video a couple years ago and I learned everything from her but honestly? Don't remember fuck all now. Worth checking out though. It's probably still up.
Edit: Yes its still up and its 3 years old. Damn. Time flies. No wonder I don't remember shit.
Honestly that video denouncing the loss of kids-only spaces online would have been very interesting to hear, rememember how just last year the official Pokémon website open a completely unmoderated forum where the threads were _too suspicious_ to have been made by even the most sheltered quirky kids, almost as if grown-ups didn't had the maturity to let children have their own little community because they think it's "funny"
13:53 this reminds me of the onion skit where subway comes out and says the footlongs were supposed to be shared between two people this whole time
Hey Quinton, don’t know if you read comments, but just wanted to say I really respect you for finishing the mini series at the right moment rather than keeping it going when you didn’t want to just because it was successful. I’ve always believed that when you’re creating something the passion you have/had is reflected in the final product, and I think that’s true of your UA-cam videos. You can tell how much effort and time went into making them just from watching them. So yeah, just wanted to say I really respect you as a creative for making that decision.
I binge the Icarly project in its entirety every couple of months like it's my favorite TV show or something
While the ICarly miniseries brought me back to the channel full time, I started watching thanks to BBV and other Doctor Who stuff years ago as a young teen.
Ive gone back and loved the History Channel miniseries, the ghost show parody, and other things like the Too Boldly Flee commentary/review. The Garfield content is literally perfect and while I loved the Miniseries I missed that variety of content, I’ve loved having some of it back.
I know Quinton has said that he has mixed feelings related to being inspired by Channel Awesome creators, but I grew up with that too as well as other other creators who would do add lore to content.
So I love little things like “Quinton has gone missing”, As a teen I used to make content and would’ve totally done something like that.
I feel like we’re still in an era where a certain niche of the youtube space is opening up, and it is exactly the kind of creators I love to watch, not just the content.
I feel super inspired by it all, I’ve literally made up a version of Sam & Cat for almost no reason but to have a fun writing exercise and have so many ideas for videos of my own (eventually). It’s so cool to see.
Oh yeah I also loved the videos for the thinning review, my friend martin, the street kids, the every (blank) videos, paul is dead, the music videos video, the disneyland skeletons, the holiday special, the simpsons toaster, and so much else.
Like i genuinely forgot how many of these were from Quinton’s channel.
Bro who tf is hating on that Icarly series? They are overwhelmingly popular & well liked, even as someone has been watching since 2016 i love those videos. Seems like you're focusing way too much on the negative response in that regard.
It's really cool and heartening to see how transparent you are with the actual UA-cam process, especially the balance between strategy and creative pursuits. I don't see a lot of people going into that much depth, thanks for the valuable insight! Also Every Ghost Show was amazing, if the Bigfoot sequel ever comes to be then it'll be fantastic
I love that you make long in depth videos covering every aspect of a show. There have been so many weekends where I just play your videos all day and you caring so much about what you're saying gives me the motivation to clean my house or work on something or just... Keep existing when I feel like shit. So thanks man for doing what you do.
In case you haven't read Homestuck yet or are planning on rereading it I can't recommend enough the Unofficial Homestuck Collection to do so!
It not only includes the whole of the original text with full fidelity, but also a lot of secondary and adjacent media from soundtracks to the author's previous works, all in a highly customizable package that includes readability features and a "first time reader mode" that locks most of the content and progressively unlocks it as you advance in the story.
For for spoilers reasons this mode is highly encouraged, though it's not gonna ruin the experience if unused.
If anyone wants a VERY good podcast that reads a long with the unofficial HS archive, I strongly recommend "Homestuck Made This World" by Ranged Touch podcasts -- it's literally done by a pair of literature professors, but in a relatively light and comedic format, and one of whom was actually present for the (now very early) days of the MSPA fandom in pre-Tumblr era as well as the middle/later Tumblr eras of the fandom. Maybe my favorite media review podcast ever??
SECONDED! I just don't want another person inaccurately recapping Homestuck and its meta, or drawing all these assumptions and be unwilling to understand how anyone could be enjoying the comic/fandom, because they weren't there in 2009-2016. (btw for those not in on it, the metatext is a BIG part of Homestuck, probably the most out of any series I've ever read/watched.)
On the topic of "Homestuck being household but not" part, I used to be in a homestuck club back in the day. I read like none of it and most of the people in it didn't read it. We didn't really know much and I don't know why it existed.
Sorry do I have permission to share this on Tumblr this is the funniest thing I've read all week.
Show 'em how quickly someone in the Homestuck Club can Stuck to their Home!
As someone who is reading Animorphs for the 1st time in my 30s and documenting my journey on tik tok, I'd LOVE to see an Animorphs series from you!!
I hope you're doing well, I hope this break goes well for you! Some thoughts:
1. Honestly, after the Schneider video, I thought it covered the iCarly revival pretty well on its own, talking about how actors' identities are still caught up in the brand. (That might've been in the review of McCurdy's book, actually...? Wherever it was, I thought it was a pretty concise way to talk about it without actually reviewing it.)
2. I watched Every Ghost Show for the first time through the History Channel compilation vid on this channel! I tend to be wary of like, live-action bits, because I'm maybe a bit too used to old UA-cam where a lot of the ones I stumbled upon weren't very good, but I do think Every Ghost Show is good. It's a shame the experience of posting it was so terrible, it does deserve better than that.
3. I got into Homestuck in 2012, when I was 12, and no 12-year-old should ever be reading Homestuck. Even though I was into the fandom & have a lot of fondness left for it, I can't help but have deeply complicated feelings about its continued existence, ESPECIALLY those goddamn epilogues. I simultaneously want to hear you talk about Homestuck, and am dreading you talking about Homestuck. However, hearing your concept for the video... makes me feel better? It's a funny idea. Homestuck does make you age years when you read it.
Looking forward to whatever comes next!
Personally I'm still waiting for that "Gorefield" video or whatever the stretch goal was.
Edit: Oh, it actually got brought up!
Hearing you talk about the ghost show video and how it's affected the Bigfoot video is so sad and disappointing because I ADORE that video. It's iconic in my eyes and I really wanna see more videos like that.
Quinton coming back three years later after he records for the gap of the gigapause legitimately would be so good
Reading the word gigapause in the year of our lord 2024 makes my bones ache in a way i haven’t felt before
It's honestly kind of sad to hear how much of a flop Every Ghost Show ended up being, I genuinely loved that video when it came out. My mother was in the middle of a huge phase of watching Ghost Adventures to make fun of it at the time [she still makes fun of Zak Bagans by calling him "Dildo Baggins"], so I got to bridge my current obsessions with hers and we kinda bonded over that video, it was nice. I still think it's a dead-on parody, you killed it there.
I think the goomer segment is SO good that it would actuallt be amazing to watch an entire henry danger video, but i definitelt understand why you dont want to
I love animorphs so much!!! The TV show does exist if you need visual representations of things, even if they don't cover everything in all the books. I am so excited!
Oh man I'm psyched for animorphs patreon stuff, even if it takes a while.
I cannot wait to see quinton loose his mind with some of the animorpbs lore
I'm currently reading the entire series and it goes CRAZY!! I'm in book 2 of of David trilogy currently.
Glad to hear you'll do that Animorph's video someday! I feel like it's got a weird cryptid energy to it that really suits your brand.
I hate that you have bad memories about Every Ghost Show. That’s one of my favourite videos of yours. I rewatch it frequently.
Honestly, the “we don’t talk about Dan Schneider”is such a good epilogue to really any series about his shows, going back NOW to review Drake & Josh and/or Zoey 101, or even the iCarly reboot, feels… strange? Like.
It kind feels like it’s time to move on to something else. I’d save a Drake & Josh/Zoey 101/iCarly videos for another time. There are OTHER shows and things to talk about.
Edit: Okay, I’d actually love a video on Barnyard. My vote is for that
Quintin, I really enjoyed your ghost video. Of all your stuff you've ever made, it made me laugh the most.
I think the Bigfoot video being a sequel to a video no one watched could actually work. Though a video trying to debunk Bigfoot is also an interesting idea.
Multiple comments for engagement sake Caleb almost BECAME a ghost! And your audience is so much bigger and more diverse and less dude-bro-y than it was back then, which is nice
So true about the Drake Bell PR campaign. Sorry you're not at a million subs yet I keep screaming at people to watch your vids
I am so proud of your dedication and you’ve more than doubled your support since 2021!
I would really love to see you tackle and try to deal with the question of whether TV shows actually got worse, or did we just get older? And if they got worse, why? I'm picturing a long series where you talk collectively about different shows from each major kids network. One video on Disney, one video on Nickelodeon, and one on Cartoon Network (those were the three channels I got cuz I'm not from the US, but there might be more). Each video reviews 7-10 major shows from after the 2010s on a season to season basis rather than an episode to epsiode one. I really think you could bring something to the table with it while also giving a lot of people the reviews they're looking for.
1 - Are the Sam and Cat vids good podcasts? In my opinion, yes. I've listened to them several times.
2 - Between the ICarly reboot, Jeanette's book and Quiet on Set. I live in a philisophical debate on whether Quinton Reviews predicts the future, or by virtue of the vids virality companies gadged there was interest in the those topics or a series of crazy coincidences.
Love the concept for the homestuck vid.
Ghost Show and The Spaceship (2018) have remained my favorite Quinton Reviews videos for years
I really hope you go ahead with "Every Bigfoot Show". I've watched "Every Ghost Show" several times and think it's great, and would love to see more of those characters.
To your point about the long-form videos forcing viewers to watch content they wouldn’t try given their druthers, I encountered Every Ghost Show as part of the History Channel playlist/compilation. I was annoyed at first, hoping it was just a skit and we could get to the review, but I quickly realized it was super solid as a stand-alone comedy piece, and I agree that it’s some of your best work.
You have a special knack for giving every project your full, earnest attention, which I think lends a timelessness and a curious appeal to your content. Wishing you a nice rest; don’t get too lost on those long walks. 😊
I love the way you make your lengthy videos. It's like you have a completionist mindset towards talking about media in general and I love that.
RE Homestuck, I've literally watched multiple multi-hour breakdowns of Homestuck and I STILL don't fully understand it 😅
That's because you can't properly understand such a vast piece of media without actually reading it. Homestuck isn't particularly hard to understand, but people make it sound like it is because it's just very, very long. So there's a lot of information in it, many storylines, too much information to be summed up in an easy format that could make sense to people who haven't read it. It's a great comic and an important foundational piece for fandom culture, it's kind of a shame a lot of people insist on painting it as nonsensical and inaccessible.
@@konodanshi I think the hard to understand nature is more than just its length. One of my favorite parts of Homestuck is how it's very clearly made in mind for an audience that is actively engaging and investing themselves in the story, and one of the big ways that it does this is by avoiding reexplaining things as much as possible. It trusts that the reader understands what's going on when a bunch of previously established rules and aspects suddenly interact to make something important happen, and doesn't spend the time breaking down a lot of these big moments step by step. A consequence of this is that these parts can be confusing if one doesn't remember all the details that go into it, and this can create a bit of a snowball effect to where it can be harder to understand anything that builds off of what someone is confused about. Again, this is something I actually love about Homestuck, but it does make it more confusing.
If anyone wants a VERY good podcast in the read-along format, I strongly recommend "Homestuck Made This World" by Ranged Touch podcasts -- it's literally done by a pair of literature professors, but in a relatively light and comedic format, and one of whom was actually present for the (now very early) days of the MSPA fandom in pre-Tumblr era, as well as the middle/later Tumblr eras of the fandom. Also encourage using the unofficial archives of Homestuck because the official site is more broken than Neopots
I actually really like your take on Garfield horror. I think it’s an important thing for people to hear, especially with child danger has been a really prevalent thing as of late.
I personally loved the ghost hunter video. I still rewatch it from time to time. It’s crazy to me that people were upset at it.
Wyatt talking to Wayne Gretzky is art, I hope y’all can make a Bigfoot video when the stars align. Maybe a prequel to the ghost show, since the Bigfoot show canonically came before it.
I’m sure you don’t need the validation of some random no-name commenter, but I’ve been subscribed to your main channel for at least 6 years? I thought the Bee Movie April Fool’s video was hilarious and one of the most impressive projects on the whole site, and I also thought “Every Ghost Show” was awesome. It sucks that some of your best projects have “bombed” like you say.
Hey Quinton, long-time fan, fifth time second-channel commenter here. I just want to say I’ve been actively following your channel since long before the iCarly days, I think I started around the time you posted your review of A Fairly Odd Summer in [THEN-YEAR 2017]. I just want to say that you’re a huge inspiration to me as a long-time UA-cam watcher and aspiring content creator. I really resonate with your style of humor and the way you present information within every video. I’ve enjoyed almost everything you’ve put out since I started watching, even the more niche topics and frankly, I’m excited for you to be able to start making those videos types of videos again as they tend to be even more interesting since they’re about topics very little people or sometimes no one has really covered before. It’s clear you have a lot of passion or, at the very least, a clear vision for everything you put out and it really shows and really does add to the entertainment value. Thank you for providing so much great content for us over your entire on UA-cam, and I’m excited to see what else you have in store for us after this well-deserved break.
Did you know, you could click on people’s (and your own) pfp to see how many comments you have on a channel! This is your fifth comment lol (I wanted to share because I LOVE this nifty feature, slightly less than we all love Quinton, but love it nonetheless)
@@RoyallyHansky thanks for the heads up lol, just edited my comment to reflect that
One of the most recognisable enemies in this game is Mr. Snuggles, a pink teddy bear who seems no way inappropriate for a Nickelodeon game. That is unless we use the free look tool, included with the Dolphin Emulator, so we can unlock the camera and get a closer look at Mr. Snuggle's box. While the image here is actually oriented upside-down, given they never expected anyone to actually see this, what it actually says is: "I'll hug you and kill you, you'll never sleep again, I'll kill your parents." Always fun knowing there's all kinds of traumatising stuff hiding just outside of view in a kids game.
Now THAT’S an odd head
This video is cannon to the Quinton Reviews Multiverse
on every ghost show- the whole sittched together video about history channel shows too, they're some of my FAVORITES. there was a long period where i had no phone or internet. I had to borrow a phone, youtube to mp4 it, and add it to a folder of 'videos to not go insane to'. I used a lot of ur vids for art bg sound and general rewatching. i wish those views could all be tallied onto the actual youtube page. i just let them run at night when i sleep now, to sort of make up for it. but yeah, they're good videos. so is the garfield one- i thought it was really cool how you essentially helped restore garfield history.
this comment may not be relevant for the ENTIRE video, but dropping it here on the offchance it's seen anyways to say 'i like ALL your videos and appreciate the time you put into them, and i'm glad i got to finish the beverly Hillbillies video. i anticipate it being edited and re-released in time, and the part 2. Sorry paramount and youtube are like that :/'.
*WOAH! We found you! Woah, you were missing!*
"Every Ghost Show" is one of my favourite video ever; I watch it regularly. I guess it goes out to show that your audience sometimes changes, and gets progressively better/more aligned, hopefully!
I love all the stuff you put out, but I really liked the short you did a few years ago "The Spaceship". It's super simple, but with how oversaturated everything is these days I'm constantly thinking back to it like "Goddamn can we just not talk about the spaceship for 5 goddamn minutes?"
I have to say - I unironically love your pitch for the Garfield Horror video. PLEASE do something with that angle on kid-friendly internet!
This video is terrifying to me because I'm currently working on an Animorphs video essay series 😬 but hopefully we both notice different things and have different thoughts and it all turns out okay in the end...
I've read Homestuck before but I'm in a large group with some people that haven't and we do a book club where we read it together. It's a good time, look forward to seeing your experience with it! Ditto for Animorphs! But I'm glad to hear you're taking some time before any of that, you've certainly earned it
I have to be honest Quinton- I really want the iCarly reboot video! I’ve been waiting for it since the series started!
Long time viewer, i just want u to know how dear your content is to me. With that in mind, Ghost Show is one is my favorite videos of yours, you and caleb are always funny together but that bit with caleb on the bridge was gold, and your reaction sold it so well
It’s so wild to hear from Quinton that people were saying negative things about his videos, because I only ever see people saying nice things in the comments? Maybe it’s that I don’t scroll deep enough? But either way I hope Quinton knows that there are a lot of people like me who really enjoy his videos! (Especially the long ones! They’re great to have in the background while I’m working!)
Most of the disdain for the Nickelodeon series has been in places other than UA-cam comments. I've noticed a few people in the video essay/leftist space (who I also enjoy a lot!) expressing things along the lines of those videos being padded, cynical, shallow, or whatever. I'd imagine that criticism from people you look up to hits in a different way compared to praise from fans.
Taking a break can be such a relief, especially with just how hard you've been working on the videos over the last few years. Take your time and enjoy yourself, you absolutely deserve it! We'll be here when you come back
I'm sorry that you have felt pressure and hatred from this UA-cam community. Personally, I hadn't found you until your Smosh Reddit Stories collab, and since then I've been absolutely fascinated with your content.
Homestuck? Animorphs? I'm gonna get something to eat!
