Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.
The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?
Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. For Sticky: Incase anyone hasnt explained who furnace or starved is; Starved eggman started out as normal robotnik, however after a defeat at the hands of Sonic, he found himself scrounging the wreckage of one of his creations where he found a dead flicky cooked due to the crash, and out of curiosity, ate it, which triggered something within him. From there on, he found himself hungering for more of that taste. Repurposing his machines who now have a more primitive design, to search out mobians and cook them for the sole purpose of consumption.
Furnace is his version of metal sonic, who does the same, the stage Prey is where he kills and consumes Sonic.
The main hero in Starveds story, is Tails, who escapes Starved, but lost a tail in the process.
Starved is actually very friendly and respectful to humans despite his animalistic hunger.
So if I met him (that wouldn’t happen) he won’t eat me alive?

@@justarandomalt255 for more details : he ate a cooked flicky that is burnt upon the wreckage and the taste triggered something in him, a blissful feeling. then he started to feel hunger for more of that taste hence why he started doing more of a primitive creations, his intelligence doesnt get lower either despise his current looking, he's just as smart as normal robotnik.

My favorite part of "Prey" is that when rapping against starved is that furnace flys under the stage in order to catch sonic off guard at the end of the song, which is 85% likely to be starved's plan, serve as a distraction

I really recommend you try out the restored build. It adds a lot of lost content, as well as fixes up a lot of bugs.
Hope sticky sees this, though I doubt he will.

I am so glad you all liked the new OG Majin sprites and icons I made, that was my own design and I made the animations for it too, I also made the art and animations for Sarah and Needlemouse plus the GF of that section, Jojo made the concepts I used to make the assets in adobe animate.

Xenophanes [Triple Trouble]: The true name and form of Sonic.exe who has now shed the guise of Sonic.
Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik's Souls [Triple Trouble]: The victims of Xenophanes who are now forced to play his game forever.

Majin Sonic [Endless]: An easter egg featured in the Sonic CD's Sound Test menu. The easter egg was meant to be silly, but the boss music that plays in the USA version is much more sinister and scary making it seem malicious.
Fun fact: Majin is a mistranslation, it should have been Mazin, but people stick with the name Majin
(3.0) Classic Majin [Endless OG]: Not really its own character, just a remake of the sprites from V1.0 of Vs. Sonic.exe

Tails Doll [Sunshine, Soulless]: A secret unlockable character in Sonic R who was infamous for how creepy he was. The reason he was even included in Vs. Sonic.exe is because of the creepypasta based on him called "The Tails Doll curse" which would supposedly kill you if you came across him in the game
(3.0) His sprites in Soulless are based on a popular apperence in the webseries Sonic Shorts [Vol. 5]

Fleetway Super Sonic [Chaos]: Super Sonic from "Sonic the Comic", a British comic series published by Fleetway Editions. Is the Super form of Sonic who comes out when Sonic is exposed to chaos energy or put under extreme stress
He's violent, bloody thirsty, and doesn't care who he attacks, innocent or not.

Fatal Error [FATALITY]: Fatal Error is a virus controlling Sonic's body who is eating the code of the world to grow more powerful.
Near the end of the song is his true form.

(3.0) Starved [Prey and Fight or Flight]: A red Dr. Robotnik. After the events of Sonic 1, he finds a dead burnt Flicky, the smell intrigues him and he decides to take a careful bite. The flavor overwhelms him, changing his goal from world domination, to feeding his endless hunger. He rebuilds his Badniks to catch and cook the animals of the island.
His diet makes his skin turn red, and his hair fall out.
(3.0) Furnace [Prey]: A new Metal Sonic model with the purpose to catch up to Sonic and cook him alive.
After Sonic is caught by Furnace, Robotnik keeps his body, and only eats small pieces on Special Occasions, keeping him as a trophy.
(3.0) Tails [Fight or Flight]: The protagonist of Starved's story. Survived an encountered with Starved, but lost a tail. Went to Scrap Brain Zone to hopefully find Sonic who had gone missing, only to find him dead on the floor.

(3.0) NeedleM0use [Round-A-Bout]: NeedleM0use is from the VHS Analog Horror Series of the same name on UA-cam by ShutUpJoJo. A girl named Sarah was accidently killed in a drunk fight with her friends, instead of telling anyone, the friends buried her body and told no one. Years later a Sega Corps building was built over where she was buried. Her soul went into a disc of Sonic the Hedgehog, and she plans to hunt down her friends and make them feel the pain she did.
Later in the song you can see Sarah using puppet strings to control NeedleM0use

Sunky.MPEG [Milk]: The "Exe" version of the fan game "Sunky the Game". He may not use his God-like powers for evil, but he is canonically the most powerful Sonic.EXE character. He doesn't harm anyone and prefers throwing parties or giving his friends bowls of milk and cereal.
(3.0) His sprite in the new version of Milk appears to be based more off the original Sunky than Sunky.MPEG.

Sanic.exe [Too Fest]: Sanic.exe is the exe version of Sanic. Sanic was a poorly drawn Sonic who is popular within MLG Memes.

Coldsteel the Hedgeheg [Personel]: Coldsteel is a fan made OC who became popular from an image explaining his character. His lore is so deep and badass that you should look up Coldsteel the Hedgeheg if you wish to learn more in a single image.

Fun Fact: Prey was a song that got cut from the mod because one of the developers left the team and requested all his work to be removed. And since he wrote the story in Prey and was the owner of Furnace, the robot Sonic in the song, they removed it. and Fight or Flight was the song that would have replaced Prey. But I am really happy that both are playable, even if the mod is sadly canceled.

Fight or flight didn’t replace prey, it takes place after prey and was meant to continue the story

Its pretty sad to see this awesome mod getting canned, but it's for the best for the devs to move on. But nonetheless it was fun while it lasted. It was one of my favorite mods

it makes me so sad this mod got cancelled because everybody that was making 3.0 is so creative and I think it will be one of the best mods out there in the FNF community < 33
It was a lot of hate from the (impatient) side of the FNF community, some people began leaking whatever they could find and the devs had enough. A mental break is all right.

If there's anything I love about this mod, it's You Can't Run. The sprites are a lot smoother and it looks less like he's doing a funny dance, the animations are awesome, and how he gets pissed after the genesis section. Really glad the devs released what they could of 3.0
Honestly, 100% agree on this one. I always loved You Can’t Run, and now it’s even better.

vs sonic.exe was the greatest mod ever made, everyone who worked on it did incredible, kinda sad that it had to be cancelled, but hey also fun fact: in too slow encore you would hear fake sonic.exe's voice then when it goes dark the real sonic.exe apears
For sticky and those who don't know why starved looks like this: From eating flickies and mobians it affected his body, giving him a strong red tone in his skin color, hair loss, and I think he lost his lips as his teeth is always visible plus they're red too. Never eat flickies or mobians.
I love how in the needlemouse song, the chat started glitching out with people spamming “Sarah” when you asked for the soul’s real name in the song opponent.
Seeing this changed my mind about the way the models look.

It's sad to see such a brilliant FNF mod go, but at least the devs were willing to release everything they had finished.
Of all the new songs, my favorite is probably either "Fight or Flight" or the Too Slow encore. I really like the music in both!

I dunno why but there are new sprites for the pixel segment of YCR, looking more like Sonic.EXE disguised as Sonic in the original game (Closed eyes and all) but they go unused for whatever reason despite being fully functional; hell, they're even on the Funkipedia page.

A shame that it had to be cancelled, but I'm glad that we at least got ANY build of Sonic.exe! The songs are amazing, the sprites are well-done, and even for a TECHNICALLY unfinished product, it's fantastic.

Its so sad that the mod team has to cancel the mod cause of the bullshit some of the fnf community was giving them but I believe that the good side of the community will pick up thr pieces and make a good semi full version of the mod

@@shadowy3755 so I don't know the exact details of what happened but basically the mod team were dealing with a lot of bullshit from some of the fnf community. Like people threatening them to release the mod faster, or lots of leaking causing the mod team to lose all of their work cause people would make separate one song mods on that specific leaked song, and I believe someone on the team actually leaked a bunch of stuff to the public without the consent of the team. so yeah I think that's the main bit that I know about it. If you look on there Twitter page im pretty sure you can find why they quit. What makes me actually angry and is kinda ironic in a bit is that all that time those loser spent trying to leak and trying to release the mod faster ended up doing the opposite of what they wanted and not only that ruining our experience in seeing a full mod. And this is happening with loads of other mods, im actually noticing that it is happening a lot more frequent too with big mods. Sonic.exe, mistful crimson morning, even indie cross i believe had a few bad times too.

Btw Fun Fact: The reason fatality was removed from this build is because that song is being ported Over to AnarackWarriors New FNF in development mod called “Fatal Files”
The 2.0 roster would have carried the mod definitely. Lord x, fleetway and Majin would have went hard. They were too good for the exe mod.

Starved Eggman is certainly my favorite of the modern "Exe's". Original SonicEXE is nostalgic, and Lord X certainly makes for a great remake.
But something about Starved unnerves me in a way non of these goofy-ish creepypastas could.
Its only fitting both of his songs are bangers.

Just the perfect mix of banger song and stupid memes. If you listen closely, there’s actually some significant effort put into the music. You can hear the first line of Live and Learn at one point, and holy crap that guitar in the background is going crazy

So, Starved Eggman, After his defeat to Sonic, He ate a piece of Mobian flesh and that made him want even more, To the point of even making robots to kill and cook them for him. But at the end, Tails escapes and has a chance to kill eggman since he is basically a human being just slowly rotting away due to his hunger

For starved, long story short. Sonic destroyed one of his bases or whatever, and he found a charred Flickly among the rubble.Out of curiosity, he tasted it, and that's how we ended up here
In "you can't run" exe's up down sprites look at the camera looking at YOU so does his losing icon and when he laughs
He's looking directly at the player while occasionally looking at bf's sprite to lul us into a false sense of "it's just a game he can't hurt us" security
