@@DukeOfDC hello Duke I watched this video. I heard you said that you did a trike like the can am . I'm coming from the car so I don't care about lean or clutch . I see 3 wheels more stability. Debating between the honda goldwing dct or the can am spyder trike
I currently ride a Champion conversion to a 2006 GL 1800 and the machine is excellent after 150,000 miles of highway riding. I would love to get a DCT version, but way out of my price range. For 45,000 bucks I can buy a lot of more necessary things than upgrading what I ride for it will go another 100,000 plus miles with tires, brakes, oil and filter changes and fork repair. Keep oil changes and service up they last damn near forever. So best of luck for those making these conversion kits for the goldwing.
My Take: I owned a 2018 Can Am RT Limited and now own a 2018 Goldwing with the Motor Trike Condor conversion. The Can Am was comfortable to ride, however it was under-powered in my opinion. I was always uneasy when needing to pass another vehicle quickly. Also, it felt unsteady when hitting 85 or 90 during passing. The Goldwing has considerably more torque and feels much more stable, again, in my opinion. And in my case, my opinion is the only one that matters. Others my see it differently. The Can Am will need a new rear tire every 10K miles. Changing oil on the Can Am is a major job, and replacing the battery requires removing the entire front end of the motorcycle. It appears to me that the Can Am engineers designed everything about the RT and Sea to Sky to require the maximum amount of disassembly possible. The Can Am requires 93 octane gas while the Goldwing runs on regular unleaded, so you pay a dollar a gallon more. The technology on the Can Am is a decade (or more) behind the Goldwing. But as some have mentioned, the Can Am does cost less. To each his own, and it's great that we have choices.
I just rode the same trike today and it's awesome. So easy to operate and it performed very well. Peyton the salesperson rode with me as well. He was courteous and professional. He showed me what to do step by step. An excellent trike to ride and I enjoyed it very much.
Great review!!! I was smiling the whole time while watching u ride this. There a several different trike companies. A company called Hannigan motorsports makes a great trike for the goldwing. They have a 180 front tire on theirs. It looks awesome. Dream ride for sure. So easy, cant drop it, more visible on the road cause of the fat back end. Just a great set up all together.
I've watched this like 7x's.. there's a DCT near me just completed with the "Motor Trike" kit, I'm going next week to test drive it and a 22 RT Limited Spyder but the Goldwing is absolutely gorgeous
Rode 380 miles to buy one. Battery was dead so never got to test drive. Wind shield is so little. How will it be when riding and 60 degree. I will keep my 2016 champion. Not feeling any of the bumps-would like that.
Funny watching a video from California about a dealership in Texas i bought a 1976 CR 125 from when i was a kid at their original location across the freeway...
Sweet ride but man that's major dollars. Thought my Triglide was expensive. I test drove a 2010 Goldwing with the CSC conversion. Man was that thing smooth. Awesome ride and handled great. However, I just like the VTwin engine and sound. Don't tell anyone but the Honda was a smoother ride than my Triglide. Both are great rides, just different.
I'd be substantially more interested if this thing leaned over like a Carver One. That thing was awesome. Other companies should have jumped on that tech by now and we should have them available everywhere. It's the one thing that is missing from all the trikes on the market - the lean.
Dennis Hinman have you bothered to look at the CarverOne videos online to see what I’m talking about? Do yourself a favor and search it. Really cool platform.
Never got the trike thing, unless someone just can’t ride on two wheels anymore which,of course,is understandable. If I were to ever get one though, this would be it.Thanks for the video.
Yep, my dad had his Goldwing converted to a trike because it was too heavy for him to manage at his age. Allowed him to keep riding until he didn't even drive anymore.
Trikes are completely different. I am able to still ride two wheels but wouldn't want to wrestle touring bike all day anymore. When you start to get around people who ride trikes you will hear " I got a trike to keep riding but now I was I had done it earlier".
I could definitely drive one of those bad boys. I love the idea of not having to worry about shifting. Even though I have cerebral palsy, I know i could do it. I ain't scared to try and i ain't scared of crap. It never hurts to try either. Love the color, too.
We are all entitled to our own opinions, but sorry you have not rode a CanAm Spyder RT or the F6 long enough to know it's a much stable trike compare to this Honda trike. Take both bikes through some real mountain twisted roads then you will realize the difference how much more stable the Spyder RT is. Don't get me wrong this Honda trike is an awesome bike but it's geared towards a different age group more to those who like to cruise on highways mostly.
Currently own 2020 RT. Selling it after we test rode the gold wing. I’m 59 so maybe old to some but was able to take this through some twisted roads and it handles and performs great. Makes getting to those long destinations more enjoyable and once there for two up riding its just better. With that being said it’s not two wheels so know it’s completely different experience.
Who has $45,000 dollars in today's world most people are struggling to survive on a minimum wage job. It's totally worth the money because you are getting the most reliable motorcycle on the planet but the price is too high
