- Quick vid to show the Removal of Water Flow Restrictors in Shower Head and Wand.
I removed only One of the Two Restrictors in the Wand. Result was a powerful massage quality blast.
Don't forget to put back the Black washer in the Shower Head.
Feel free to add comments to help others do this.

The blue one is the one that matters! The white ones in the handheld wand are more like valves to keep the water going the right direction. I tried removing just one of those and it made no difference in the water pressure/flow. The blue one is the baby you want. Thank you!
I was shocked that this worked for us! So easy to do. After reading comments, we only took the shower head blue one off, did not mess with the detachable wand.
Followed this. Took me literally two minutes. The water pressure now is unreal! If there are any in the wand I can't imagine. The wand now has so much pressure it actually pushes the wand back away. My pressure now is amazing with only the primary blue restrictor removed. Thank you!
I didn't have the exact model but got the same idea. I knocked Mines out and woah....what a difference. Thank you for the video. Help me and my family out a ton.
Thanks for the how to. I realized it was that little black O ring that was doing most of the restrictions. I used a hook tool (PC tool kit) to pull it out. Doubled the water flow!
Then I realized, this is my 11 yr old girl's new shower. So, for now I'll put it back and see if she complains🤫
😂😂
Easier to just remove the restrictor entirely. Works great.
+1
Great vid. This pretty much doubled my water volume if not a bit more than double. Took me maybe 10 minutes or so to do, and that was mostly just getting the head off the pipe. Thank you!
This video saved me the hassle of taking the whole thing back to the store. I was getting so mad with the water pressure. Thank you.
Thank you!!!! This did work like a charm! To remove the restrictor in the wand I used a very small flat head screw driver (for eyeglasses) and once it was wedged between rubber gasket and side, turned/rotated the restrictor a bit with the screw driver and it popped out. Looking forward to my shower in the morning!
Thank you for the great video! I would have taken the screen out thinking that was the problem. I never would have thought to take the blue thing out. I take 3 min showers so I need the water pressure! So thank you!
Sometimes we overthink things. This was the easiest way to do this for sure. Thank you.
Great video, others I have seen other videos taking the resrictor from the top, which in the newer versions, will destroy the restrictor, and you will need the restrictor intact if you ever have the head replaced under warranty. I did the same procedure you did but I used a flat pin punch, which is a punch with a flat face, turned it over and drove it out using the punch and a hammer. This knocked it right out with no damage.
Works for my new Arvo shower head too. I didn’t have to take out the wand restrictor. Thanks bud.
This is what i needed. Pulling it out with needle nose doesn't work on my newer model. This did it! Thanks
This worked great! I watched other videos that said to just pull the restrictor out with pliers. That would never work. You need a lot of force applied in the right way to get the job done. I have this exact model and you don't need to remove the pink doohickie the spray handle. Just the blue one and you'll have plenty of water.
I removed the blue restrictor with a pair of needle nose pliers. It took seconds to pop out!
Saw a different video before this. I found removing the small black "o" ring alone improved water flow. I may consider removing the whole thing another time.
lol. Looked so easy I tried it. Works great. But I would suggest if anyone is having a hard time for some reason removing the whole piece, just use a small flat heat screw driver(eye glass size) or a pick to pull it. Definitely will improve flow.
So freaking glad that I did this, whats the deal with the low flow anyway sheesh
since then, they've added an additional tab to potentially block the screwdriver from going in the hole. A thin enough screwdriver will still fit, though.
0:40 We cannot get this piece to screw off! Any tips?
Totally worked!! Who doesn't like taking a good shower? Knocked out that little piece(it was a little hard to do cuz it's pressed in but it's just plastic) after it came out I'm probably getting more towards 3 gpm!!
Not too bad seeing that "actual" high flow heads can be upwards of $150
$54 at Lowes
Thanks again UA-cam.
Thanks. Getting that blue bastard out made such a difference!
how did you get the spring loaded white one out
This resolved my pressure issue. Thank you!!
See that tiny black rubber ring? Stick a needle in it and gently pry it out. That's it. Done in seconds.
I recently (Sep 2023) purchased this Delta IN2ITION shower head. There was one blue restrictor in the base at the connection to the shower elbow. Easy to remove with a small pair of needle-nose pliers - no disassembly needed. I checked the end of the hand wand, but there was no restrictor there. Full [shower] speed ahead!
I also wonder how you got the wand restrictor out
how did you remove the restrictor in the wand?
This is my 2nd IN2ITION shower head. I had to figure all this out on my own on my first one. This time, my attempt resulted in only breaking out the center of the flow restrictor, but I expect it will have the same result as removing the whole part. I didn't find a restrictor in the wand at all, this time. I'll wait to see if the flow is poor, then go looking for it.
the second one is a check valve in case you have a tub, don't want tub water to backflow into your drinking water, if the wand is submerged.......
Worked like a charm
Quick question for anyone. I have the In2ition shower head. I removed the little blue flow restriction piece but I probably took more apart than I needed to. I unscrewed the 'swivel ball' assembly to get that little piece of plastic to pop out. Then when I went to reassemble it I found it took a lot of time/trouble to get the rubber grommet around the ball and the little white plastic washer part to all reseat. I got it back together and doesn't seem to leak & flow is great. But I'm wondering if I got the assembly order of the plastic washer and the rubber grommet wrong. These 2 parts fit around the base of the swivel ball part which is then held onto the the main shower head body with a ring that threads on etc... Does anybody have a diagram or just know which order is correct? Is it swivel ball, washer, grommet, and then the screw-on ring that holds it all together. Or is it the swivel ball, rubber grommet, plastic washer, and then screw-on holding ring?
When that bad boy restrictor shot out, it almost broke my window haha jk. Worked great. Water pressure puts me to sleep instead of frustrating me now! Thanks a million.
Just remove the o ring on the blue thing, the o ring is covering the holes.
Worked perfectly. Mine was green and not blue! Ha - ha.
Installed a cold only extra head and thus stupid thing made it not even let water out with only one water like incoming.
Mine leaked after i took out the blue restrictor.
The one I got was plastic, so I couldnt dis-assemble the joint to pop the restrictor out. Returning it and just going to keep using my old one which doesn't have the restrictor. How can they rate the gpm at 7.5 with the restrictor?
It's rated at 1.75 GPM out of the box.
This model is plastic, as is my similar one. you can unscrew the ball pivot section from the large head to remove the restrictor. I even did it by hand to avoid defacing the plastic body.
sounds like you're not very handy.
Did you put the black rubber washer(Before the blue restrictor) in there again when you put it back on?
yes
I put the filter back in precisely where it was. I wanted to make sure no chunks of anything found their way inside the shower head and messed it up. Pressure is insane even with the the filter installed.
yes. it's needed for both the screen filter and to seal the head against the pipe. otherwise you'll have a lot of leakage!
You do pay for your water, but I wouldn't expect them to reduce your rent because you used less water.
