What do you suggest for finding a good replacement. I always have issues with the diverter(?) getting stuck either to the shower or tub. It takes less than 1 year before it sticks.

Awesome thank you the dam cli
P I guess word out so a faucet new is convienient
the high tub spout is popular with old people, this way they do not need to bend over to turn it on/off...
Thank you so much for this video. I didn’t even need to purchase the brass pipes because my pipe was long. I replaced it in less than 15 minutes and I’m a 69 year old woman. Now I can add plumber to my resume!🤪
Way to go lol
You gave me hope lol. I'm going to try
@@julieg1561 you got this. I showed my daughter how to replace hers. She was so proud of herself!
I'm 66 and am needing to do this. Also the handles. Nervous, but he makes it seem much less difficult.
@@susangroom960 I was just talking about this yesterday. We don’t need to pay a plumber for the simple things!
Wow! Who would have thought replacing a tub spout would be as easy as this? I always feared it would require major plumbing work. Thanks for this tutorial video!!
Thanks. Very thorough and professional. I watched a vid of a weekend handyman/non-plumber do the install and yours is far more thorough. Although he did recommend buying a pizza during the install which was very helpful.
Thank you. After watching this video, I was able to remove and replace my faulty tub faucet and it's working great now. Much appreciated.
Did you have to cut off the water source first?
Excellent video covering both types of bath tub spouts. Especially liked his smoothing the end of the copper pipe and lubricating the channel of the new spout in order to increase its longevity. Thanks for your assistance.
It is very clear understanding even if no English country user. My tenant broke the spout but i cannot find plumber today cause Thanks giving . I am so lucky to find your video. Thank you so much❤ and HAPPY THANKS GIVING 🎉
Thank you for a thorough yet succinct demonstration! I bought a new spout last year because my diverter wasn't working properly. Lots of corrosion inside the old spout. I did not install the new one yet but instead filed down the corroded parts of the old one. Seemed to work fine, but I've noticed lately that I have to file every couple of days LOL. I've been a little nervous to change out the whole thing but I think I'm going to do that next weekend thanks to the confidence you gave me! PS-- love the bonus tip you gave-- that the shower diverter should disengage on its own when the water is turned off; never push it while the water is running.
I like you. I'm a Handy Ma'am and I could have seen how to do this logically. BUT you, my man helped me to make sure it was done right, especially with the gaskets. Thank you.
This video made my replacement go smoothly and it was so easy. I was dreading getting a plumber in as well as DIY. Thank you for this DIY video.
Easy to follow!!!! Thanks for not making this job super complicated.
I didn't know a slip on was an option. Thankful I found this video since I was very confused how to replace my faucet.
Very informative and great advice about slip on spout easier to remove when there are issues with Diverter spouts. Having a tough time removing a threaded spout.
Seriously, that's one of the best "how to" video I've seen in a long time; precise and to the point and you seem to do the job thouroughly. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your video! My husband was able to disconnect the spout because of your directions! Thank you!
I watched 5 videos on tub faucet swaps, and this was easily the most comprehensive. Thank you!
Excellent information and instructions. I've been an engineer for 40 years, and thought all spouts were threaded. Glad to learn about the set-screw type, or I'd have been trying to turn the current spout off, causing damage. I'll be able to make this replacement in about three minutes now. Much appreciated.
Great video, easy to follow, and was able to do this on my own replacement as a result. Thanks!!
I have 0 plumbing experience. I did this successfully with no issues. I can’t believe how much easier my faucet turns. Thank you sir!
This was super helpful. We're having an issue with the water not switching to shower. I hoped the replacement would be so easy!
I wish things came off as easy as these videos make it look, my tub spout refuses to budge, and no I'm not turning it the wrong way.
I had to use WD-40 to get my tub drain stopper out yesterday, not even the full drain. I think someone had misthreaded it putting it in. Then there was so much hair it prevented it from fully twisting to come out. I'm renting so just cleaning it, but Im going to soak it in vinegar before putting it back, maybe it'll thread correctly when I put it back if I have to clean it again before I move.
I had troubles of replacing the bathtub spout. After watching your video and trying your technique, it is done! The section of your explanation of the differences of thread and slip-on is very helpful. Your technique of removing the bathtub spout is great. A wonderful video to help me getting my job done. Thank you!
This gives me even more hope! Thank you for sharing!
You're really good at this and with some obvious plumbing experience too. Great video.
I think the dough plus the tape is overkill, but it’s a good and cheap precaution. Alcool, blue tape. Very professional. I love this. No short cuts.
Love this no nonsense straight to the point video, not a plummer but just need to know! Thank you for sharing!
I have the daunting task of needing to replace my faucet due to a faulty diverter. This video has given me the confidence I need!
You are the man, Ive been putting off replacing these basic componenets because I really didnt want to spend a few hours fumbling around and figuring it out. This is clean, concise and easy to understand. Thank you.
Same here! It’s a great video
You make it look so easy and it is not for us average person. Thank you for your explanations on how to do it.
Clear instructions, clear visuals, no bull, up to the point. Thanks!
Great video, need to replace the tub spout in my apt, most people would say it’s the apt owners job but the guy who owns our building lives states over and can be quite difficult to reach, I find doing this stuff myself is so much more convenient for everyone involved and I can do it on my time
No one has mentioned why you only silicone the top half in countless videos I’ve watched ! Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you, I plan to do this on Friday. I watched your other video too on replacing the drain, so I will be doing both. My diverter is broken on my facet, and my drain, the cover of it is very rough to touch because I used a harsh cleaner that I should not have. But I noticed the black ring around it, that is probably the washer installed wrong. As far as the facet on your tub being high, I bet they put it that high to prevent little kids hitting their heads.
Thank you for this idea. Everything worked out fine. The tip about just turning off the water was cool. Never thought about it. I had to gave my family a lesson. But I was just 2-3 cm off between the spout and tile even after tightening the spout to its fullest. I sealed it pretty well. Looks good.
Great explanations. Looks easy. I need to do this at home tonight. Hope its as easy as you show.
Thank you for explaining the types of spouts at the beginning! Excellent video
great help. Thank you for helping DIY guys save plumbing costs!
wow you are well-organized and prepared- the strap wrench is a good idea for new spouts
I just did this in my bathroom!! Thanks for the simple and direct instructions!
Very informative. Simple and concise. Thank you!
Helpful video. If you are not a plumber or a handy man, replacing a deflection is not a simple job, I tried this myself 3 times in 2 homes. Leaking 1st time, frustrating 2nd time, took me all day to figure out 3rd time.
Good video, glad I got to see this before I replace my tub spout this weekend.
Awesome, no time wasting, just getting down to business.
5:03. What a simple solution to clean caulking. The painter's tape. You've taught such an invaluable tip. I know it's a simple thing, but every person loves a clean caulk and this small tip can change the entire appearance of any project. Thank you. I envy your caulk.
Another pro-tip, is to PUSH the caulking gun, not DRAG the caulking gun.
When you caulk your bathtub, countertops, baseboards, etc, this will give you long, clean, perfect caulk lines every time... and no tape required.
Teflon tape
Thank you so much. I had a slip on that was so tight. I thought it was threaded. Your very helpful video has allowed me to triple check myself.
Thanks for the guide I had to replace a rusty one from our house that's been corroded. Simple fix and shows different models that's on the market. good stuff.
Thank you very much. Nice the way you took the time and showed each step. I'm very appreciative.
Wonderful. Now I can do mine with more confidence. Thank you very much for your great video sir. Best wishes always.
Great video. You made it seem so easy. Better then the other videos I watched.
I just want to say Thank You for the video. I replaced my bathroom faucet with ease. I did need the recommended grease, but once I used that the faucet glided on with ease. 😊
I came here to hear him say "spout." 😁 Seriously, a very helpful video. Thanks for sharing this with us! 😊
Thank you very informative I'm gonna have to watch it again. Your way more help than anybody I could find in home depot.
Very informative and easy to follow video presentation. Just replaced two elements in my master and guest bathroom.
Simple and very straightforward. Thanks for sharing.
great tip - not to engage the diverter while the water is running so as not to wear to that washer... that is exactly what we would do and the reason my spout needs replacing.... this is a great video
I learned so much from this video.
I may try to replace my slide-out faucet myself.
Thank you so much for this! Replaced an spout using this video yesterday & it went great.
Cool, Looks same as mine, Thanks the link for Tub Spout.
Thanks for the video. I'm going to try this in my daughter's bathroom. Got some matte black hardware to install.
Thanks for the helpful video, I was thinking it was a lot harder than you showed it to be. Thanks again!!
Turned out like a professional work, thank you for saving me the big bucks.
Great video with lots of information and clear instructions. Wonderful production quality, too! Thanks for making this!
Thank you, took me a pry bar to get it off and a 3/4 to 1/2 adapter but at least I knew what to expect with your video (+70 years old sprout)!
Thanks buddy, very professional 👍 my next step is follow your instructions ,I know I'll be successful.
Excellent vid, to the point and very informative, thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much , the way you explained was really clear and simple ...thank you
Your instructional video was very thorough. Great job!
I changed my spout out after I tried to repair the diverter by putting in a new gasket but the inside was too rough to make a reliable seal. Fortunately I have the slip on type so it was an easy fix requiring only a hex key to get it done. I much prefer the type of diverter which is in the shower valve as it is more reliable. I have one of those rubber strap type wrenches that I got for about $1 at a yard sale. I hope to be able to use it someday.
Much appreciated. More confident now to change out my faucet.
Thanks for the tip of using the tape before the silicone!
wow - very impressive - even I can understand - I am gonna try and will let you know how it goes! Thanks much!!
Super helpful. Thank you.
great video. to the point yet detailed enough to get the job done!
thank you. my New faucet is just pop out during shower... I was installed by a.. professional plumber(I paid). My new faucet type is 2nd one without any thread. I will try to tighten screw in the bottom tonight.
Thank you so much for this video!!!! you save my day.
Thanks for the video, well done, I need to replace a diverter spout in my home.
This guy makes knows his stuff, he makes it look easy!
Thanks for showing both options. Great video
With your tutorial I was able to do the job.
Thank you so much.
Excellent!! video & work, extremely helpful! Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing! Great detail!
Just the information and demonstration I needed. Tub spout replacement, here I come! :) Thanks.
Simply, it is an excellent video. Thanks a lot !
I was about to spend $200 for someone to do it, but you just encouraged me to do it myself. Thank you;
VERY NEAT AND INFORMATIVE, I LEARNED A LOT FROM THIS.WELL DONE.
Thanks for posting this. Nice & simple.
Thank you! I needed this today. This woman is going to now study plumbing!
Nice video. Thank you. The one thought I have is that it's possible the spout you're removing is a universal spout, in which case it could actually have been installed as a screw-on, but the presence of the set screw will make you think it's a slip-on. So, you could be tugging outward and/or turning it clockwise in error as you try to remove it. So, to me it makes sense to only turn it counter-clockwise during initial removal if it has a set screw, unless and until you're absolutely sure it really is a slip-on.
Very detailed and slow enough to follow and understand, better than most videos seen
Great job. Thanks for clear explanation and video
Thanks, need to replace my wife's grandmothers spout. Didn't know there where two different types, so now I know what to buy.
CONCISE, TO THE POINT, AND VERY INFORMATIVE. THANKS.
Nice clear & excellent directions thank you much!❤
Bought my replacement months back. It is so hard to move, I tried hammering it to try loosen it. But never thought it was screwed in. Guess I need check that out!🙈 Gosh I need water in my shower bad...ddddd..... Condo hard to just shut down water. Ty for vid👍🏾
Thanks for the video! That shit exploded yesterday night at 10:30 and I had to replace it this morning... Had no idea how to remove it and I was scared to be forced to open the wall. Easyer than I tought, took me 3 minutes to do!
I was going to mention the height of that 1st spout myself. Anyways, great informative video. Now for me to go and not mess anything up. 👍
!!OUTSTANDING VIDEO!!! COVERS ALL THE BIG AND SMALL SPECIFICS AND GREAT VIDEO TECHNIQUE. MANY THANKS!!!
Excellent video. Very clearly explained. Thank you!
This video was incredibly helpful, informative & to the point. I feel very confident I can replace my own tub spout now.💪🏻
Thanks for posting ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
How did it go?? I want to do mine!
@@gabriella2682 not great, but by no fault of the video, I ended up buying both types because I felt a cut out where the screw should go, but when it came time to unscrew I couldn't find one. So I get a strap & hesitantly unscrewed it. Which worked, but when I went to screw the new one on it didn't fit. There was some weird coupling that I couldn't get off, looked rusted in place? I bought wire brushes & wd40 that said wouldn't stain my tub but did. Nothing worked, so I had to call someone after all. But if there wasn't all the extra bs, It would've only taken me 10 minutes. 🤷🏼♀️
Thank you so much for this very informative, easy to follow instructional video.
Great video, thank you for this video.
i feel like i can jump right in there tomorrow and change the faucet BY MYSELF!! Thanks!
