Up until now, the flow restrictors in showerheads I purchased have been easy to remove. This time it needed to be drilled out. Thanks for posting so I knew the right way to do it from the start.
When I install a new shower head I look at pictures. I don't just sit there and read everything. I have never seen or been informed that using tape is imperative. Which I now understand it is. I have been wrecking the grooves and didn't even know it. Thank you for finally helping me understand, see and do the right thing with tape.
Of course I have a drill with only a screwdriver bit so I just used a wine corkscrew to hook into one of the little holes and just twisted it out. Easy, breezy, Cover Girl!

Put a screw in and pull it out with some vice grips.
As someone who rents i am not doing this
Renters can buy and put in their own showerheads. Just save the original one and replace it back when you move.
