I kinda only play Online Conquests so i use the Mask of The Undying, the Blackened Armor and 4 pieces of the Outlaw Set, i really recommend it if youre grinding conquests.
Curse master build. Sword, dagger, longbow and rune of horrors. Servants blackened armor, suludans mask. Ground drain is great with this, consume is very important, and for drain upgrade I used quiver of souls. Curse is my favorite element, so I love this build.
It's also really strong on Brutal/Gravewalker. Unlike my build, it gives you no edge over captains unless they have a weakness to curse, but you can basically terrify all grunts around you. So your build doesn't have to worry about constantly being swarmed by grunts and you can focus the captains down easier. As my very lengthy comment explained, I take a high mobility, high damage at low health approach, which focuses a lot on stunning crowds, or raising revenants to lessen any aggro on me. But my build destroys captains on Brutal and is probably fairly effective on gravewalker, too.
That’s my build! I didn’t think anyone else used Mask of the General in builds. However, I substitute bow of horrors for the arcane bow for shadow strike chain kills. I’ll clear out all the defenders and hunters with kills and when focus gets low, end with a strike to ground drain for my elf shot that I lost. Wait for focus, rinse, repeat.
I just started playing this game after finishing Shadow of Mordor. What I like about this game and about all games I play in general is: "REPLAYABILITY". Seriously, after I finished Shadow of Mordor, I felt like there was no point in playing it again. I unlocked all (or almost all?) of the abilities by the end of the game. I didn't feel like I had to really choose between builds. I could just use everything I liked. So whats the point in playing it again? it's not like you can choose a different skill path this time.. I am glad it's very different for this game, since you have so many abilities that you have to choose from

It kills archers, but terrifies other grunts, allowing you to brutalise to gain might and cause terror, or to start a wraith chain and quickly kill 5 grunts, or damage a captain who's weak to stealth, during combat. I use rain of arrows, since might's plentiful for me and I basically never run out of elf shot. Wraith flash is godly. No captain is immune, they can't adapt to it and even enraged captains, who aren't mid attack animation, can be stunned. Ground dominate is also quicker and harder to interrupt than a standard ground execution. And as is, I can quickly flood an area with undead grunts, between the normal skill and ringwraith. If I can get the crit boost on Acharn, that will be even crazier.
Its all about trying new things on your build and tweaking it. No build is necessarily the best. I have certainly changed what build I like to run from doing reviews for all the legendary sets
Thanks. Another thing I noticed about your video is that you're not a fan of Ground drain. It's a highly underrated move and arguably one of the best in the game. It's quicker than a ground execution and can set up a stealth chain or brutalise kill mid combat. It also allows you to insta dominate knocked down captains. Plus, unlike consume, ground drain basically fully restores your health with the 100% more health from drain or brand effect. Alongside waters and shadow strike, that move is central to my build.
My build I have a threshing sword that has a 50% chance to freeze enemy's on a critical hit, I also upgraded the servants blackened armor to 40% of a chance resurrection. Vengeance bow and dagger because full might every 35 seconds is a bit op, and the bow just for the special ability set. Also I have mask of the undying and isildur's ring because a bigger resurrection radius is just great.
I just started using humiliator recently and I can just shred captains with ease in online sieges so much more now, it’s so satisfying cutting every Capetians head off within seconds

I’ve got an epic rarity sword from grinding captains in first stage minas ithil that gives might and health back per ground execution and an armor piece that gives 120+ might for killing a captain. It’s an endless night build basically especially with the wraith protecting abilities and obsessive use of throwing orcs to execute them. Plus the dagger I have allows poison effect for thrown blades every 20 seconds. Pair it with the brace of daggers and that’s a lot of poison
Nice vid! Personally I use grim resolve for the Humiliator Sword, but I'm running a mostly might build so i'll try Fatal Might. Selling point for me with grim resolve is the Might not resetting when you leave combat. I'll also give ceaseless Might a go too, I like Wraith execution for clearing out grunts and that it runs out when your focus runs out (That could be OP with focus on kill), it could also be argued that you can take out multiple grunts and work your way up to the captain i guess. Idk i'll check it out but like I said Nice Vid I like to see what others are running! :) Seems like i'll probably be using fatal might for now, I didn't know that it gave that much might on a hit! Fits perfectly with my build, Ceaseless might i'm not so sure It's useful for captains but I quite liked being able to take out grunts very quickly. Maybe it'll be a switch between those two.
Tecy Guy How did you get your humiliatior? Just a random drop? Cuz I got two swords with the exact same perks on them where I get full health and might after a last chance and I’m not sure if that’s because the captain was killed in a similar way haha I wanna get humiliator that’s all

Can u tell me exactly how the reroll gems work and what it means?? Does it do something special somewhere that I'm missing?? I have done this twice to the same weapon and didn't see any change except one less gem each time...🤔

you actually CAN defend yourself during Fatal Counter, you just need to counter again, and a Wraith will counter again and kill more than one enemy (Experience: Multiple 100% playthroughs)
Fatal counter stops dodging so unblockable attacks will always hit especially on higher difficulties when the attacks are much faster. I too have played this game through 5+ times to 100%
I'm gonna get back into this game, along with TC Wildlands. I bought them and put in about 20 hours into each and just couldn't enjoy them but I'm giving them a chance now

This is made for Brutal difficulty which did actually come out after Gravewalker. Brutal amps up your damage as well so you can kill things very quick late game
Hey Ethan, hopefully you've figured this out by now, but I can tell you because I had the same problem: You have to get the orc down to low health and then fail the move where the circle pops up (just don't click anything). Then you have to get him to low health again, and that's when you use brutal execution. It'll work.
Yeah, the only difference between brutal and gravewalker is that you deal less damage. You will still get one shot by every captain late game. This build will work
How are you even able to get the Humilator sword anyway? I feel like I've been doing something wrong. Is it just farming captains, or do I have to farm for specific ones?
I am abit late , but did want to ask, is it possible to go for a specific gear set? I remember playing it and I was limited by how many legendary orcs there would be from a particular clan which prevented me from building up a gear set fully. Have they fixed or changed this at all?
No its till random chance. Doing the fortress assaults guarantees a legendary captain but not for a specific tribe so I had to grind 50+ fortress assaults after a 100% playthrough to get every bit of gear
You can still get the dagger through online stuff. Its used in this build for the outlaw bonus so you'll need to get another bow too. So anything will work provided the bow and dagger are the same tribe
My build is more crowd control. Dark sword, dagger, ring and bow of horror and blackened armor and mask of the high king. Dark build help gain might faster so I can summon gondorian wights and to kill grunt faster, the bow can save me when I'm surrouned by making them flee away and no need to talk about the armor

Wrathgiver tie for first with Amaranthine. 2nd place: Humiliator I only say this because you only need to get enough damage output for Wrathgiver or Amaranthine to get you Wrath/Might, whereas, you must be fighting and killing Captains in order for Humiliator to proc the unlimited might.....
The purple effect is always the same. The secondary effects are also pre-determined to match the playstyle associated with that gear set; however, these ones can be changed
yep fatal counter is useless in brutal bc you kill a grunt with 2 hit, but arrow recharge is sooooooooooooooooooo much needeed especially in a longer fight
You have to kill legendary captains specifically. After you discover one piece of a gear set, the far right slot in your inventory will tell you how to get each item. Usually details what class the legendary captain needs to be
Just to share my opinion, I prefer fatal counter because there's a skill in the wraith tree that allows u to counter another uruk while ur using the counter, if a captain attacks u u can still dodge in mid of the skill so I prefer that.
guys I have a dlc fortress I swear to god without paying any money I have dlc orcs this is how you do it you go to a online vendetta and find a legendary outlaw orc or slaughter orc and recruit them then they will be sent to your garrison then you can deploy them!
If you go to the inventory screen where you can see the legendary items, go to the outlaw section highlight the sword. Itll tell you what class to kill. I think it is Legendary Slayers

I'd still take fatal counter or even the might one over elf shot. You'll pretty much always have a bow/hammer with at least 12 arrows max and drops are everywhere and ranged attacks are underwhelming late-game imo and fatal counter clears out grunts great. Everything else on the list is pretty much the best ones to use though.
Fatal counter also leaves you vulnerable to damage during the animation. So if you're attacked simultaneously on brutal/gravewalker, you'll be on low health, or just downed outright. Arrow rain still rewards perfect counters and also allows you to use ground drain, which has several great uses.
Weird fatal counter never fucks me over and I play on gravewalker difficulty. Also if your playing on gravewalker difficulty you don't get any last chances unless you get adamant so the other upgrades for retaliation are baiscly useless on gravewalker. Just a tip.
Guide was made for brutal difficulty. Obvs on grave-walker adamant would be the only useful choice. Also fatal counter was fixed after this video was made.

High crit-damage builds are the best way to go because any elemental build will get shut down with high-level captains (especially on gravewalker). Anything will work provided you exploit the Mask of the Undying and the Waters of Lorien ability. As for captains, on gravewalker, they will die ALOT so theres not much point investing in good captains. Even with the best immunities, they can still be wrecked by basic attacks. Berserkers are very good, try to get one with Hate of Pain or Everything as they are usually invincible
Kelvin Kippins I like the terror weapons where you build might from each tick of damage your poison does. If you use poison elven light in a large group of enemies you have full might in 2 seconds without doing anything.
You need your character to be level 80. Whenever you get any gear, it matches your level when you first got it. Once youre level 80 sending death threats to max level captains pretty much confirms a level 85 piece of gear
Bow of horrors! Headshots explode orc heads. Successive headshots will make everybody run and then just brutalize them 😉 and it curses enemies captains and Ologs.

I'd argue perfect life is better, especially with how easily you can level your orcs. 30% more health keeps your orcs alive longer, allowing them to do more damage overall than having a perfect warrior gem. And if like me, you prioritise your own damage, tankier grunts divide enemy focus for longer.

Probably because you are not playing on a higher difficulty where attacks are faster and much more frequent. In a fortress assault you will get attacked by 10+ enemies at once

Its a skill, in the mounted skill tree there is a skill variant that lets you insta-dominate. Doesnt work on graugs or drakes

Getting hit by ranged attacks will reset your might. Missing your own ranged attacks will also reset it

Legendary sets dont appear in the menu until you have a piece of that gear. The set used here can be got through the main story

Personally my playstyle is ranged as much as possible unless the orc is arrow proof, then I sic spiders, drakes, gruags or caragors on them
How do u upgrade your sword of vengeance? I’ve tried time and time again to use the brutal execution on a vendetta captain but it’s not even working
As long as you have the skill to give you two might bars, it will count as a brutal execution when both are filled
Hey Ethan, hopefully you've figured this out by now, but I can tell you because I had the same problem:
You have to get the orc down to low health and then fail the move where the circle pops up (just don't click anything). Then you have to get him to low health again, and that's when you use brutal execution. It'll work.
Will this build work for the more difficulty settings higher than brutal? If not then what build do you use?
Yeah, the only difference between brutal and gravewalker is that you deal less damage. You will still get one shot by every captain late game.

How are you even able to get the Humilator sword anyway? I feel like I've been doing something wrong. Is it just farming captains, or do I have to farm for specific ones?
I am abit late , but did want to ask, is it possible to go for a specific gear set? I remember playing it and I was limited by how many legendary orcs there would be from a particular clan which prevented me from building up a gear set fully. Have they fixed or changed this at all?
No its till random chance. Doing the fortress assaults guarantees a legendary captain but not for a specific tribe so I had to grind 50+ fortress assaults after a 100% playthrough to get every bit of gear

It depends on your level when you get the armour. I was over level 60 so i didnt need to do any of the upgrade challenges

What's up with Machine tribe legendary gear exploding all the time? Talon takes damage from much of it himself. Am I using it wrong?
It damages you and interrupts your attacks, it literally hinders your ability to play the game

You can still get the dagger through online stuff. Its used in this build for the outlaw bonus so you'll need to get another bow too. So anything will work provided the bow and dagger are the same tribe
My build is more crowd control. Dark sword, dagger, ring and bow of horror and blackened armor and mask of the high king. Dark build help gain might faster so I can summon gondorian wights and to kill grunt faster, the bow can save me when I'm surrouned by making them flee away and no need to talk about the armor

Wraith Flash with Frost upgrade, that might help. If you exploit infinite dashes you can stay on the point and keep gaining might

They should stay in the Garrison so you can redeploy them. However, they will be capped to your level

Wrathgiver tie for first with Amaranthine. 2nd place: Humiliator I only say this because you only need to get enough damage output for Wrathgiver or Amaranthine to get you Wrath/Might, whereas, you must be fighting and killing Captains in order for Humiliator to proc the unlimited might.....

The purple effect is always the same. The secondary effects are also pre-determined to match the playstyle associated with that gear set; however, these ones can be changed
You can also have dlc tribes appear on online vandettas

yep fatal counter is useless in brutal bc you kill a grunt with 2 hit, but arrow recharge is sooooooooooooooooooo much needeed especially in a longer fight

In the inventory menu on the far right it says how to get each bit of legendary gear. Vendetta dagger requires stealth kill on vendetta target i think

Just to share my opinion, I prefer fatal counter because there's a skill in the wraith tree that allows u to counter another uruk while ur using the counter, if a captain attacks u u can still dodge in mid of the skill so I prefer that.

guys I have a dlc fortress I swear to god without paying any money I have dlc orcs this is how you do it you go to a online vendetta and find a legendary outlaw orc or slaughter orc and recruit them then they will be sent to your garrison then you can deploy them!

If you go to the inventory screen where you can see the legendary items, go to the outlaw section highlight the sword. Itll tell you what class to kill. I think it is Legendary Slayers

I'd still take fatal counter or even the might one over elf shot. You'll pretty much always have a bow/hammer with at least 12 arrows max and drops are everywhere and ranged attacks are underwhelming late-game imo and fatal counter clears out grunts great. Everything else on the list is pretty much the best ones to use though.
Fatal counter also leaves you vulnerable to damage during the animation. So if you're attacked simultaneously on brutal/gravewalker, you'll be on low health, or just downed outright. Arrow rain still rewards perfect counters and also allows you to use ground drain, which has several great uses.
Weird fatal counter never fucks me over and I play on gravewalker difficulty. Also if your playing on gravewalker difficulty you don't get any last chances unless you get adamant so the other upgrades for retaliation are baiscly useless on gravewalker. Just a tip.
Guide was made for brutal difficulty. Obvs on grave-walker adamant would be the only useful choice. Also fatal counter was fixed after this video was made.

I dont believe you can re-roll gear main abilities only the secondary ones, so you cant get humiliator on any sword

High crit-damage builds are the best way to go because any elemental build will get shut down with high-level captains (especially on gravewalker). Anything will work provided you exploit the Mask of the Undying and the Waters of Lorien ability.
As for captains, on gravewalker, they will die ALOT so theres not much point investing in good captains. Even with the best immunities, they can still be wrecked by basic attacks. Berserkers are very good, try to get one with Hate of Pain or Everything as they are usually invincible

Kelvin Kippins I like the terror weapons where you build might from each tick of damage your poison does. If you use poison elven light in a large group of enemies you have full might in 2 seconds without doing anything.

You need your character to be level 80. Whenever you get any gear, it matches your level when you first got it. Once youre level 80 sending death threats to max level captains pretty much confirms a level 85 piece of gear

If your character is max level (80), then you can just upgrade your gear to level 80 using mirian. No cheats needed

Bow of horrors! Headshots explode orc heads. Successive headshots will make everybody run and then just brutalize them 😉 and it curses enemies captains and Ologs.

But if you were downed by poison it will drain off your might, so it's not that good. Vengeful drain is better for that situation.
If you run endless might then the poison damage will still let you perform one might move (such as a drain)

I'd argue perfect life is better, especially with how easily you can level your orcs. 30% more health keeps your orcs alive longer, allowing them to do more damage overall than having a perfect warrior gem. And if like me, you prioritise your own damage, tankier grunts divide enemy focus for longer.

Probably because you are not playing on a higher difficulty where attacks are faster and much more frequent. In a fortress assault you will get attacked by 10+ enemies at once

None are dlc exclusive, but there are so many effects it can be really hard to get them since its all random chance
