  • Fist ride of the season for me out at Xcel Energy's mountain bike park in Shakopee, MN. The trails are very family friendly but have some cool wood features and jumps to make riders of all skill levels happy.

Back on Dirt! Well, sort of. Glad to see it. This winter was tough on all of us I think. I am so out of shape it's sad. Everything hurts. Back, knees, feet, shoulders etc.... getting old is not too much fun. Take er easy and heal up. We have lots of summer yet! See you on the trail soon!

Thanks! It is a pain getting old. You really need to stay active or pay the price. I'm feeling better each day. Probably riding the more mellow stuff at the start of the year and be ready for the summer.

Glad to see you on the bike Brian! Definitely nice to have an all weather option available, especially with all the rain we’ve been getting.

Thanks Travis. Hopefully this is a solution more trail systems try out. It's been so wet, there won't be many places open for a while.

Great spot to shake the cobwebs off. Seems like a successful ride in regards to your ankle holding up; I hope that continues to mend 💯%

Yeah, the jumps didn't really both it. I think the shoe plus the ankle sleeve was a bit tight. Don't think I'll be hitting and drops soon but I think I'm good for general trail riding.

Sorry to hear about your ankle. Take your time. Good to see you getting out. Bike sounds good. Very quiet. That park looks fun. Be nicer when the green comes back 🙂

The ankle feels better every day. The ride did help loosen it up. I shortened the cables up front so they won't rattle as much and I replaced the derailleur so the shifting should be better. I think everything will green up super fast now that we are in May.

The Minnesota Cycling Association is using Excell as a race venue for the kids MTB team. Being from Chaska this is in my backyard and still haven’t checked it out. Need to go soon looks like there is enough safe stuff to progress on, could be good! Thanks for sharing!! Keep working that ankle BV!

I can see this being a fun ride for them. You should check it out. It's right next to Valley Fair.

It's a fun after work ride for riders that live in the area when trails like Murphy and Leb are too wet to ride. It can dry out within a day after rain.

Yeah, that is a great spot for that part of town. Perfect size to session sections and not be committed to a long ride.

Went there last weekend for the first time and it was packed. I was a bit rusty myself. Looking forward to everything opening up in the metro this week.

Next weekend looks great. I doubt Theodore Wirth will open but more places will be open.

Thanks, Kris. I must have really got it good this time. Feels better each day so I'm hoping it is almost healed.
