Such a down to earth person. She didn’t let anyone and their fears stop her! She has made her van very cute! She loves dogs, so to me, she is all right!
I turned mine off for good on November 9, three years ago, in addition to disconnecting from all other media other than books. I'm the only calm, happy person I know. lol
Another thing I like about Bob's interviews is that he asks good questions and, when he gets long answers (which is typical when one is trying to explain how one makes such a momentous decision as becoming a nomad), helpfully and politely summarizes the answer for the listener but also does it in such a way that invites correction from the speaker if necessary.
Thanks for noticing that Diane, I really try to do that. My greatest strength for my calling in life is I'm a fairly simple guy, so I am always looking for the simplest possible explanation and understanding. I love to summarize things!
I like Allie's van build and I really like her attitude. She has her van nicely organized and it works for her and her two furry friends. I wish her many miles of safe travels.
It is great that she used what she had, gave it a good amount of time, then came back with something that she feels suits her style better. My hats off to her and I wish her all the success possible. She is awesome
I love down-to-earth People ! It seems like People that choose this life style are very down to earth, kind People. I love this lady's Personality. Thanks for another good interview Bob.
Rylee, that has been my experience as well! People who come out here are salt of the earth, good people. That's what happens when you reconnect to nature in any way.
Great video. Would love for you to spend a little time introducing everyone's travel companion and what they do to accommodate traveling with pets. Thanks.
Yes it was a good video. And yes she was nervous, but I think that's just her personality - she reminds me very much of my half-sister, funny also. Her comic delivery is good.
Grateful for the tour, encouraged by how well this lady is doing in such a small space vs the much larger units we often see. Minimalism is the word I believed she used. Admirable and instructive.
I travel with a sidecar motorcycle and have experienced the kind of peace described here. Nothing like setting up a tent out West and watching the night sky. It's an all night show, and I've never felt unsafe.
One of the most important things that Allie said in this interview on the subject of fear is to "TURN THE TV OFF". If you would like to hear her exact comment go to (11:09 - 11:20). I might add to that not reading all the crime reports in the newspapers as well. Thanks for another good interview.
My wife and I have a 1976 Dodge flair. 360 motor with 48,000 original miles. We have replaced everything possible from water pump. valve seals, alternator hoses ,ballist. ect and saved old parts just in case. LIFE IS DOING WHAT EVER MAKES YOU HAPPY. Just be peaceful and kind to others with respect and enjoy the ride. We own our home so we have vary to little bills. taking a 30 day trip first to see how we like it and then we will take it from there. God bless you and I surly enjoy your videos my friend.
Thanks Bob, love your videos! Have you thought about ever doing followups with some of the folks you've interviewed? Would be fun to hear about their travels. Cheryl
Sweet! My first van, Şri Ram Dodge 1, was a Dodge shorty cargo with 318 engine. I have such good memories of it. I'd consider a shorty again. Go sister!
Allie is a strong, smart and very wise women, I enjoyed listening to her, and wish the best to her! Bob, you always remind me/us there's beauty and beautiful people in the world, thank you!
It's good to see people find a way through sheer will. We need to shed expectations and learn to enjoy the time we have. There's no promise of tomorrow. I can see the happiness on her face because she feels free.
What an awesome woman. She is courageous to strike out on her own and try living in a van. Her lifestyle sounds tough but also freeing. Thank you for doing this video, you are an inspiration, all the best to you, be safe.
Would love to see you do a follow up interview with Allie. Free spirits like her make for an interesting view of living on the road. Enjoy watching these interviews as life goes on. Thanks!
Gosh.I envy her she looks so.happy, all.the people.you interview look so.happy, always smiling. :) This is really inspiring me to be more frugal and live with less!
There are two reasons we are all so happy: 1) we eliminate the stress that comes with the dependence on needing money for a house and for excess things, 2) a close re-connection to nature! Those two will change your life!
Bob, this interview with Allie will soon become one of your top 5 viewed interviews. Hope both your path cross again for a follow up interview/video. Seems like such a fun journey she's on. Good job!
Hi Bob Your videos have been a powerful inspiration to me for the past few days as I have been at home sick with a bad case of the flu. My history is similar to you ... my father died at 61 ... never made it to retirement. I am ready to hit the road, but my wife is not interested in such a lifestyle .... very dedicated to her full time job and getting to visit the grand-kids. She does not mind if I travel ... was required during much of my career. I lost my job in 2015 due to company closure ... have been working various unfulfilling part time jobs since. Perhaps I will cash in my 401K, get a camper for my truck, and become a part-time nomad. If I go through with it, I hope to join up with your group along the way .... I never met you in person, but already think of you as a friend and mentor. Please keep posting more videos.
Wow! I’m so grateful I somehow came across this channel! It so interesting but the thing that I m most impressed with are the people. They are positive and very independent. They are not afraid of learning and just doing what needs to be done.
Hi Bob and Allie. I remember this video from the past and it somehow stuck with my mind with its excellent design of small space. Allie proved that even in a small space one can have a pretty good size bed. Thriving, not existing, is having a comfortable and safe place to sleep. I also believe that it was Suanne who recommended a Passenger van over a cargo van for the ease of registering it as non-commercial, depending on which state one chooses. And that view from her counter top is spectacular. Bob, any updates how Allie is thriving. Great interview and tour thanks, again.
Im writing this comment as I am finishing my final exams at my college for this semester online. Some college students live in their van near campus to save money on rent. I love this video. Im renting at families home visiting for christmas with my mom and our dog. I recently bought a mercedes suv to do this lifestyle in Im disabled I was going to buy a used RV but decided it was too big for now. I am wanting to move to a small town up north trying to decide whether to please family and rent a room or just sleep in the SUV and save money on rent and be able to travel more with it on my terms. I was going to tow a travel trailer with the SUV but for now it seems like its more to carry and not necessary. Great video and lady lots of helpful information. thank you
One big consideration is staying warm in an SUV, I think it will be tough because you can't add insulation and there is too little room for clearances for a heater.
CheapRVliving yes but it was the suv I wanted for a long time although you live in the Vansion with more room lol. But thats what the Little Buddy heater is for. and I can always run the car heater if needed.
COOL! Allie's van looks like mine, only a bit shorter. I do wish you had shown a bit more of the outside for reference. Anyway, good for her adapting the way she has. Another thumb up.
Bob, I discovered you through the 2014 documentary and have since been enjoying your channel. I find your way of life and its people to be fascinating. Thank you for sharing it.
I would love to find a companion some day that wants to do this exact same thing with me! That would be wonderful! This is inspiring!! I can't wait to hit the road in a few more years!
As an old fart who's been around this world for 6+ decades, it's so refreshing to see young folks today with the courage and fortitude of this young lady. So many young people today are so very materialistic it's beyond pathetic. She seems to be very strong willed, she is definitely educated enough to survive out on her own and she has her dogs for protection but, I always feel better when single women today surviving out in the wild like this own a firearm they can handle and properly know how to use. In this insane world we live in today it's almost "a must have". Another great video my friend.
Hi Bob, been watching your videos for a while, it really is about the freedom isnt it?, from mortgages, things, consumerism, to live , experince life and work as you please and not as a slave/anchored down, I plan on doing it just looking for the right vehicle .
Mark, that one word really does summarize everything. I would add one other though, peace. By reconnecting to nature and escaping our obsession with things instead of people, we can find true peace of heart and mind.
Great interview, and its nice to hear people making it happen and not like some, whining about, how its not happening, and they aren't making enough money, and they have a new truck, and a new camper!!! With savings, they don't want to touch!
I had been looking at the mini van. Finally seen inside and new my 5'8 height wouldn't work. You seem so elegant and comfortable. Thank you for sharing.
The dog laying/sleeping while Bob is talking to Allie is confirmation that Bob is a good Guy.
Who else was listening but watching the cute sleepy doggie the whole time? 🤣 I love these stories and continue to be inspired!!
I'm watching this again. A girl and her dogs and she is happy. Thanks Bob
We build our own jail bars when we accumulate debt. Best of luck young lady, and thanks for your kindness Bob!
"The way to turn fear off is to turn the television off."
I LOVE IT!!!!
Such a down to earth person. She didn’t let anyone and their fears stop her! She has made her van very cute! She loves dogs, so to me, she is all right!
"The quickest way to turn off the fear is to turn the television off" - truth!
AMEN
Yeap!!
I turned mine off for good on November 9, three years ago, in addition to disconnecting from all other media other than books.
I'm the only calm, happy person I know. lol
jzt999
that is very impressive
So true! I go next level, I don't even have a TV, LOL.
Good observation Diane
Allie is a wonderful human being. She is the living embodiment of a free spirit, and so very wise for such a young woman. She is a true inspiration.
Drugs
She is wise beyond her years. Sweet young lady. Great interview.
She sure is!
I like Allie's van build and I really like her attitude. She has her van nicely organized and it works for her and her two furry friends. I wish her many miles of safe travels.
It's always cool to hear people using what they had at the time and just going for it.
I agree, I love those stories!
It is great that she used what she had, gave it a good amount of time, then came back with something that she feels suits her style better. My hats off to her and I wish her all the success possible. She is awesome
She sure is Alvin!! It's just common sense stuff, but that seems uncommon any more!
I know this wasn't a new video Bob, but I really liked this one, loved how simple she made things and how easy it made van life to be a reality!
So impressed with this nice lady. She truly has made her home. Living the dream. Thank you for filming Bob.
Paula, it really is my pleasure to let the world meet these great people living their dreams!
Paula White h(
Once again, you have shown us that all it takes is a desire and making that first step to travel.
That really is all there is to it. The more preparation the better, but if that just is not an option, you can just go.
Given the limited space, Allie has done a terrific job of sticking to the essentials in her van layout. Great work!!!
Allie is really an inspiration to the rest of us! Thanks for sharing, Bob.
Thanks.
I definitely want to do more pet videos and that is a great idea!
Allie has a great attitude and outlook and seems to be such a free spirit. Her rig is perfect for her needs. Good interview!
Thanks, she is a great person!
Young lady was nervous. But dont blame her. Good video
Thanks. I thought she did great.
Yes it was a good video. And yes she was nervous, but I think that's just her personality - she reminds me very much of my half-sister, funny also. Her comic delivery is good.
L.D. husky - young lady?
S L
How old you think?
Yoso - late 40’s, early 50’s
Grateful for the tour, encouraged by how well this lady is doing in such a small space vs the much larger units we often see. Minimalism is the word I believed she used. Admirable and instructive.
One of my favorites. She's so organized and that floor is so cute.
Thanks Carolena, me too.
I travel with a sidecar motorcycle and have experienced the kind of peace described here. Nothing like setting up a tent out West and watching the night sky. It's an all night show, and I've never felt unsafe.

I might add to that not reading all the crime reports in the newspapers as well. Thanks for another good interview.
Yes, she is very wise, way beyond her years!
CheapRVliving.com
That's so true.........I WAS RAISED WITH NO TELEVISION AT ALL IN MY PARENTS HOME.....best years of my life !!!!!!!!
manOz- yep-- the CIA ! All mainstream media is pure propaganda, no matter what country you are in. Best to turn it off
@Truthbetold Not really by much anymore.
This young lady is inspiring. I hope she is still doing well.
I so enjoy seeing humanity's perseverance, our drive to survive, innovate and thrive it is a beautiful thing!
Her set up is perfect. I love her attitude.
She a decent person based on how calm and relaxed her dog is.
Loved it the first time. Love it just as much the second time around. Keep posting those old videos.
Thanks Joan, will do!
My wife and I have a 1976 Dodge flair. 360 motor with 48,000 original miles. Nice young woman, Alli. I like her set up. Love her dog!

"I dont like things much unless i find use for them." Same thinking here. 😁
Thanks Bob, love your videos! Have you thought about ever doing followups with some of the folks you've interviewed? Would be fun to hear about their travels.
Cheryl
Yes, that's a good idea. I'm planning on doing follow ups with as many as I can.
That's the plan Tom!

Hi Bob

Ross, there is a lot of similarity there! I think you have a great plan--my camp is always open to you.
I love how the Dog just stretched out then groaned like "Ugh, Mom". So cute. She's a cool lady and i like the floors in her Van. Cool.
I love the fabric she used in her van!
Yes, it's very nice!
Wow! I’m so grateful I somehow came across this channel! It so interesting but the thing that I m most impressed with are the people. They are positive and very independent. They are not afraid of learning and just doing what needs to be done.

My pleasure Paul.
Allie is a real inspiration and thanks for this video it was a pleasure😊

Great interview!! Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Allie is so beautiful and cool you meet some really neat people
I'm a ver lucy man!
Truth be told- 95% of ppl are GOOD....its that 5% which really is pretty avoidable....TRUST YOUR GUT. #PEACE
Exactly right. Sadly, we only hear about the 5% so we think they are everywhere--they aren't, they are rare.
@@o2bnob Thats a different deal. I think they specifically mean energetically and maybe physically harming somebody.
Bob, your show is so inspiring. Thank you.
Thanks for watching Master Artist!

COOL! Allie's van looks like mine, only a bit shorter. I do wish you had shown a bit more of the outside for reference.
Anyway, good for her adapting the way she has.
Another thumb up.
Thanks, I do try to show more of the outside now. But I often forget.
Lovely video. The lady is most delightful and smart.
What is the van's length, model, year, and what mileage does she get?

Mark, that one word really does summarize everything. I would add one other though, peace. By reconnecting to nature and escaping our obsession with things instead of people, we can find true peace of heart and mind.
Thanks for sharing, very insightful. Minimalism is on the rise 💞
Great interview, and its nice to hear people making it happen and not like some, whining about, how its not happening, and they aren't making enough money, and they have a new truck, and a new camper!!! With savings, they don't want to touch!
Allie...love u. U remind me of myself. Except that you have made it much farther than me...I'm still dreaming. Thank you for the inspiration!
What a delightful young lady!!! This inspires me:)
I wonder how Allie is doing now. She was quite nervous and uncomfortable... She seemed like quite the lovely, enterprising lady - good luck to her!
Thanks Bob and Allie.
Thanks for watching bill!
This is the best rebuild I’ve seen 🏆
I had been looking at the mini van. Finally seen inside and new my 5'8 height wouldn't work. You seem so elegant and comfortable. Thank you for sharing.
