That's great Anita! My grandparents traveled all over once my grandpa retired. My husband and I bought our first rv about 5 yes into our marriage. A Tioga c class. The next year we traded it in for our Southwind A class. We wanted to travel with our kids instead of waiting til we were older in life. We've had the best adventures. Still have it & will be on the road once my husband retires in next few years. Safe travels
During covid I bought a 2020 Ford Transit. I'm 71 years old, female. I'm a snowbird in florida and I travel 4 months every summer and put on 10,000 miles traveling in my van. I have a bed, flushing toilet, running water, 1 burner Propane stove, and a12 V Frig. This was my 4th summer traveling in my van.
Just absolutely love her space. It looks so comfortable and cozy. She sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders and loves her life. It doesn’t get much better than that.
I did this in 1989, when RV's were for "retired people only". I was young and ready for adventure. My dog and I lived in a Lazy Daze class C for 3 years. Quit my job as a photographer and ended up publishing a photo book about abandoned buildings across the U.S. Ended up settling down in Seattle and selling the RV. It was a high point in my life. I encourage the adventurous and "interested in the world beyond my nose" spirit.
bought a piece of land in Nevada.. selling everything and moving there next April.. putting a shed and 2 RV's on it.. completely off grid.. 20 minutes from nearest town.. serenity..
Beautiful! Well done and your tiny Wolfpack are living the life exploring with their mom, breathing in all that fresh mountain air 🌱🌲🫶🏻🐕🐕 Doesn’t get much better than that!
Have watched many van-lifer videos over the years and this was one of the smoothest and most professional looking editing jobs I've seen. Well done! Best of luck on your road adventures.
I like the touches you added. We had a Roadtrek that was similar. In the lowered floor area it had a drain to the gray water tank and a shower curtain that allowed the aisle to be the shower. We used it. Some people never do. Some people find community with others and camp together for a while. Enjoy your travels.

Tiny home tours, Thank you for this interview with Alyssa!! I’m 62 and will purchase a van in 2025. Terrified to purchase an old RV because I do not want to brake down. This video helped me know that it is possible to purchase used. I often think to purchase brand new with warranty but the money wanted for new is outrageous. This video shows me options! Thank you Alyssa!!!
I usually start to tell there’s an issue well before a break down and can get it to a shop and since it’s a traditional dodge van it’s not hard to work on or get parts for. I would just make sure you have some sort of triple a type thing just in case though

Just watched this episode. Been coming to America from England every year since 2015 to travel. Mostly 3 weeks, 4-6k miles and in car or truck, staying at friends. I base myself in Wright City, Missouri. However this year I have decided to look at buying something of my own, not using my friends vehicles. Just awesome congratulations! I know making changes isn´t always easy but trust me the freedom is worth it, I left the U.S. back in 2008 and never looked back. Been living rent and mortgage free since, shout out from rural Mexico.
I really like the setup of your van and how you've decorated it. Your shoe storage was clever, and the front seat set up for your dogs. I thought it was perfect. Thanks for sharing your home/van.
Incredibly beautiful story!!! Genuinely happy for you breaking way from societies depressing grind and congratulations to you for making those dreams come true!
Great van, and you didn't have to spend over 100K for the newest models that might not have the same quality built. I like how the bed turns out, neat design. The open floor plan is what I like the most, love the sitting area and the table. Enjoy!
Nice vintage setup! A very impressive young woman. Most, myself included, would play it safe and not follow a dream like this. May it continue to go exceedingly well for you.
This is wonderful! I use to have 'many' RV video's I was subscribed to, but it looks like so many have dropped off the need of travelling full time, which was so popular over the Covid years. Thanks for the tour, and as a Subscriber I'll try and follow you now and again!
Impressive. 65 year old man here. I lived in a 27' camper trailer for almost 4 years in my early 40's. I enjoyed it but got tired of being cramped. Plus my hobbies require more space-like a garage/shop etc.. Great job finding that van ! Looks like you got a great deal ! Not sure how much weight you have on your keychain, but I try to limit the weight on my ignition switch so it lasts longer.
I like my Coleman stove top oven. Perfect for rolls and biscuits or cornbread. Nice video, I like your coffee brand and the layout of your van. Thanks for sharing.

NW Indiana has Indiana Dunes National Park that I see wasn't on your Map. It was designated a National Park a few years ago. So you'll have to add that to your planned destinations.
Change the table top to have a hinge in the centre, this will make the table half the size and then you can make the bed with the seat back on one side
Love that retro van! Gorgeous! Really like the crocheted pouch thing that looks like it has mail in it! Too bad everything is on Instagram. I’ve never been able to get that right. In fact none of the socials.
Thank you for your tour. I'm looking to get into van life, I lost my youngest son to low blood sugar and he traveled which inspired me to want to teavel. I'm in the learning what I need, deciding all where I want to go.
The collapsible oven works. There is a learning curve and the first couple of things will burn until you know how much flame works. Totally worth it. Especially for cookies.....
If I were still doing this, this is the van style I would go for if I wasn't doing a custom build. For the bed, I would probably leave one side down permanently as a twin size bed and build a stool to fit in between the two sides with a cushion on top to make it a U-shape, and put a table mount on the stool so I could lounge and work on the couch side while having a bed on the other side. The stool could still be moved out of the way for days I may want the whole bed, and with the stool, there is more than enough space to snuggle with the pups at night.
Suggestion: Frame in over the end of your couches and place a mattress on the frame. Minimal work to convert and still leaves you room to sit at your table (move the table base further towards the kitchen). You could also just make a removable frame that sits across the end of your couches, that with a mattress, brings it to the same height as the couch backrests. This way you can remove it if you want.
I like how much space you have and your coffee maker is great..want to get one..Im thinking of getting a van..I want to live with less stuff and be free to travel.

Great space for the Berkey. I’ve wondered where I’ll put mine. They look fabulous on the counter when parked!
What a precious and comfy space 😊
Suggestion: Frame in over the end of your couches and place a mattress on the frame. Minimal work to convert and still leaves you room to sit at your table (move the table base further towards the kitchen). You could also just make a removable frame that sits across the end of your couches, that with a mattress, brings it to the same height as the couch backrests. This way you can remove it if you want.
If you like baked corn bread, you should try skillet corn bread, just as good. I use a small cast iron skillet pan. Perfect for one or two! 😋
