I'm inspired to hear that there is a strong and helpful community out there. I am also inspired to know that you can build your van over time as you live in it and it doesn't have to be over-engineered. My favorite part is how you did the insulation, which is not only easy to create and install but also easy to check for mold and replace as well.

As someone that travels for work on a budget and is seeing more and more greedy real estate hiking the cost of houses, apartments, condos to share I can appreciate people looking for a way to live with dignity and independence and have the option to do so.

Hope to see you and all these wonderful people then!!!

I love love love Deborah. Such an inspiration! I can hardly wait to get on the road. I am a domestic violence SURVIVOR and Im going otr full time as a way of healing and not only physically but emotionally and spiritually. I fled with basically the clothes on my back and my lil truck. But im saving money and working out how i will support myself. I love to Crochet and any kind of crafts so im thinking I will start a channel to teach crochet...but Im so serious that i already have a box that when i see something i could use in my van that i havent even found yet...lol...it goes in there. My goal is to be otr in one year. I live my life AS IF. That means I live as if its already here if that makes any since. Deborah gives me such hope and inspiration. Thank you for all your wonderful videos Bob. I will definately be seeing everyone sometime in the future!!!

This is amazing and so inspiring. Life isn't about stuff, but experiences and people. Beautiful spirits in every one of these videos. I think too beautiful for the grid.
Bob. This brought tears to my eyes. You are such a blessing to so many people in the tribe. The kindness you show and giving of yourself to others in need speaks volumes about the person you are. I have been watching for a long time. It took me a while to figure out how to comment but now I'm able. I can see the joy and thankfulness in Debra for all the help she has received from you and others. Why can't there world be this way? Folks are just so lost in a world that just takes from everyone. Giving is much better than taking. Bless your heart. I hope to join your tribe someday.
I have no idea why I'm crying she is seemingly so happy it just makes my heart explode thank you Bob thank you so much for helping her for helping all of us

wow what a beautiful home you made for yourself Deborah! I really love the beautiful fabrics on the insulation panels. They are fantastic and gorgeous! You made a nice place for yourself and enabled yourself to really have a good life. I think you are incredibly brave and creative. You can be really proud of yourself, Deborah. Am glad you have so many great friends who help you with things. Your dog looks really happy too. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us. All the best to you Deborah! greetz to Deborah and Bob - Jason
Watching these videos I am continually amazed by the people being interviewed. Every single person Bob has spoken to has come across as incredibly kind, caring and generous. Where are all these people in our cities and towns? Travelling I guess.
Have to say, of all the videos I've seen on the numerous channels, THIS WOMAN touched my heart....humble, beautiful, and so grateful for everyone's help. It just floors me that she.started out so bare.....thank God for people willing to lend a hand. This video, more than any other, makes me want to join this lifestyle. SOON!!!
Love Debra. Have been following her for about 2 years. Interesting to see what she started out with. Debra is still the same sweet lady who gives credit to her friends. I do admire her. ❤️🐕🌹
Bob i was touched listening to this lady that you not only interview but you also help like this lady who would otherwise not have that insulation or heating without your help or suggestion. I am really a fan now. Thanks for the inspiration.
I once knew an elderly lady that slept on a bus bench on Miami beach for years ,she had all her possessions in her shopping kart...when she died they found that she had a bank account with over with over 900,000 in it. Pretty sad that she didn't enjoy it
To both of you why do you think she was not enjoying her life without the money? And why do you always assume it's mental health issues?! We have a local man, he is extremely well off and is mentally healthy! He walks all over town, picking up trash everywhere and lives in a tent behind one of our major stores by choice! He is a highly educated man and lost the love of his life and decided to set out and find community! He enjoys living off the land and meeting many different people!
I agree, it sounds like a myth. Every city has one of those stories. Generally it’s not true. And if it was, it goes without saying it would be mental illness. People don’t live outside on a bench if they are mentally well. Common sense would tell u that. I was homeless for a long time. I saw it all.
This is so encouraging! I am also disabled, and so far still just dreaming of van life, but this woman and the help she was given from others makes it seem possible. Thank you so much, Bob and Deborah.
Where do you find friends like these? I need this! I have great friends but I'm not sure if they would know my needs if I lived in a van. It seems like you all have developed a little family all over the states.
This is the most inspirational video I have watched EVER on UA-cam. I am familiar with Debra’s situation from the original video you posted as she revealed circumstances that brought here to this point in her life. She exudes such joy. Truth? Something got in my eyes, I teared up. Life is a choice. Thank you Debra. Thank you Bob. ❤❤❤❤❤
This video was one of the first I watched last year (2017) as I was seriously contemplating this life style. I never forgot Debra. Now I have a van and am beginning to get it ready! (yea! I'm insulated!) I am so glad I came back to watch this and to be inspired by the simplicity. I have been complicating things because after watching hundreds more I got caught up in these van build perfectionist's bells and whistles and forgot about the basics. That mentality is holding me back from getting out of "Dodge." Thank you Bob and Debra for this re-run and reality check for the push toward freedom.. once again.
we a have a caravan and love it but always wanted to get a van.i have fibromyalgia and other health problems and need to lie down through out the day, would they're be any way round that, our Scottish weather doesn't allow us to sit out for half the year,I think these ladies are brilliant what they are doing they're amazing,I'd love to do this xxx😊😊😊
Oh, I'll hold the vision for you that you get to do this one day Ellie Goldie. Don't ever give up! HugZ! :)) d&n My UA-cam channel - ua-cam.com/users/debradickinson
What an incredible simplistic conversion which meets the needs of Deborah. I love the stories I hear about community and how people come together to help each other! I have seen so many van conversion videos from super simple to very elaborate. To me it seems the more simplistic the more functional it appears to be. Thanks Bob for sharing another wonderful story! Happy Travels and blessings from PDX!
I am happy for her that she can adjust to living like that...For me I can't live this way..I need a full kitchen my self, I like the class C vans my self. I wish everyone good luck ..And be happy..Peace

I am disabled too. You’ve inspired me! Love your van setup ❤️❤️
Another great video sir, thank you so much, we all need inspiration at some point!!! Debra I'm not too disabled yet, your such a sweet and beautiful soul, it gives me hope so thank you and God bless you and your earth angels!!!
I admire Deborah so so much! her positive outlook and kind spirit shines through in every thing she does! thanks, Bob, for showcasing her today!
If the glue keeps coming loose, you might try strong magnets to hold insolation.
Thank you Bob and Deborah! She is amazing and definitely my favorite interview by far. You guys are both lucky in your amazing friends.
How could you not like this woman? Great spirit!
Awhh, thank you Forty and Life To Go! :))

Wonderful story Bob. Thanks 4 helping Debrah. She is a sweet soul.
Thank you. Bob is an earth angel.
What a positive lady she is.
Thank you Rebeccamyst. I have so much to be grateful for! :))

wow what a beautiful home you made for yourself Deborah!
Thank you so much Jason! I loved that van very much.
Watching these videos I am continually amazed by the people being interviewed. Every single person Bob has spoken to has come across as incredibly kind, caring and generous. Where are all these people in our cities and towns? Travelling I guess.
She is lovely and appreciative. I hope you enjoy your travels and keep that smile bright!
Awhhh, thank you Vlrissolo. Will do! :))

SOON!!!
I can feel the love ❤️ from this community already.I have to make the effort to attend an RTR.
Love Debra. Have been following her for about 2 years. Interesting to see what she started out with. Debra is still the same sweet lady who gives credit to her friends. I do admire her. ❤️🐕🌹
she looks comfortable and healthy. she appears happy. not everyone gets to experience this.
Pretty sad that she didn't enjoy it
Sharky There must have been mental illness in that situation. 😞
She was obviously senile or worst Sharky....You see that lot's with the elderly!
Depression can take you down that path... trauma...PTSD.
I agree, it sounds like a myth. Every city has one of those stories. Generally it’s not true. And if it was, it goes without saying it would be mental illness. People don’t live outside on a bench if they are mentally well. Common sense would tell u that. I was homeless for a long time. I saw it all.
She was so sweet, I'm so glad you all helped her fix up her van! I am also disabled and would like to be a nomad one day, so this was cool to see.

I am blessed beyond belief and this truly is a wonderful community - so many great people. :)) KOKO!
ATexas gal! Just like me! I could tell when she said “Everything you’re fixing to see”. 😜💕
Thank you Debra and Bob and all who helped Debra...Blessing to all...
Very inspiring. I'm looking forward to her interview.
This is so encouraging! I am also disabled, and so far still just dreaming of van life, but this woman and the help she was given from others makes it seem possible. Thank you so much, Bob and Deborah.
Love Debra! Great interview! Thanks Bob!
Hi Cynthia! Thank you! Big hugZ! :))
What an amazing community... offering support for one another. Lovely woman and great interview. You are amazing Bob! Keep up the good work.
Where do you find friends like these? I need this! I have great friends but I'm not sure if they would know my needs if I lived in a van. It seems like you all have developed a little family all over the states.
Puppy looks so so comfortable
👍A lovely person. Truly an inspiration. 💞
What a lovely lady!
Thank you kelbee! :))

HugZ! :))

Ellie Goldie Have same problem she is doing great. I am in bed the same also. I want so badly to have a life like that. Blessings
