You can show total engine hours on the Tahoe. With the key off press the trip reset button once to bring up the odometer, then press and hold the trip button for 10 seconds and it will display the engine hours
chris reid it does work but is this total engine hours or idle hours? Curious because if total my hours are extraordinarily low.
Nice, thanks for sharing. 7180 on my 2007 DD w 210k
Great comment. I'm gonna pin this to the top so others see it as well. Thanks for sharing!
@@hullinger 2745hrs on my 07 dd 150k
Only 1668 hrs on my 2010 w/ 106k miles. Doesn’t seem right but maybe will help with resale in the future.
Thank for being informative, about these cars... great videos. Hello from Boston!
In 2016 I bought my 03 Crown Vic Police Interceptor for $1300 from Govdeals. Off the lot, nothing was wrong with it even the A/C worked. It was used by the code enforcement, so theres no spotlight holes, no cage, or a ripped up interior. I daily drove it for 2 years, and have only done maintenance items on it so far. Now I just use it on the weekends to keep mileage off of it. A lot of the cars on there are junk condition but sometimes you can get lucky.
I always love these auction videos. Some of the vehicles look full of potential. And the rougher looking ones always make me wonder, "Man, who were they chasing? Al Capone?"
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate you sharing that since I don't always know what folks like or dislike. Feedback like that really helps! -Chris
These ate always very interesting thank you very much. Best regards.
I liked those Tahoes and Impalas, would love to have one of these they´re very nice, Caprice a hell of a beast with that powerful V8, very cool cars and not that expensive
That's the best thing about fleet cars! Hidden gems! Especially the police cars. All those features normally offered in the top end models!
Nice channel local guy here been thinking about getting a biding number an trying for a Tahoe ppv for some time now after watching your videos I think I’m going to give it a shoot great videos keep up the good work
Great video Chris. I enjoy checking out Bidera Auctions. Same concept but South Florida version.
Always enjoy these videos
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate you sharing that since I don't always know what folks like or dislike. Feedback like that really helps! -Chris
The blue ‘07 Vic is gorgeous!
Mc loven your videos you really know your stuff thanks again for the education
Thanks for sharing nice.😎
Ended up having to do house renovation but I had my eyes on that first Tahoe, and a blue focus; I hadn't even realized that was a dang 9C3.
All back seats are pulled loose since cops check for drugs after an arrest. Bad guys and Gals sometimes dump drugs between seats.
Oh man, I love these auction videos.
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate you sharing that since I don't always know what folks like or dislike. Feedback like that really helps! -Chris
Awesome video I love the Tahoe i have 2012 all black
Great video bro all of them cars was nice af & that second Impala 9c1 looked like the hose was rigged
That caprice is the detective model. That was the name of the package from the factory.
You get that alternate center console, carpet, back seats, deluxe wheel covers and a few things I may be forgetting
That second Caprice was probably a supervisor car. They typically don't have cages and tend to be less beat up than the road cars.
After seeing your previous Tahoe PPV vids, I ended up buying one. It’s a former Delaware State Police too, 108,000 miles, dark blue! Great truck.
Wow man, that's soo awesome! And from this auction too! How cool. Soooo, what do you think of the truck?
East Coast Classics After seeing your video, I knew I wanted a blue one. I actually found mine at Chicago Motors, total coincidence it was from Delaware and ultimately had it shipped to my home in Georgia. 108k miles, good shape, clean car fax, new RSA tires for under $10K. Big plans include exterior upgrades first(tinted windows, rain guards, etc) then eventually a DOD delete. Drives great, faster than I thought it’d be. Thanks so much for your videos...very informative and interesting.
When the odo's dont work on the CVPI's give the cluster a hard knock/punch or two and it should turn on.
Those chev caprices were made here in Australia , the Caprice here was up spec with lots of luxury fitted
I love this video. Hope to see more. ☮️👍
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate you sharing that since I don't always know what folks like or dislike. Feedback like that really helps! -Chris
East Coast Classics: You are welcome. You look at cars in a way that I enjoy. I like that you point out just what you see and then offer any non apparent information of which you are aware. Telling us the selling price is what makes your videos 💯% in my opinion. I like all of your content, but these are my favorites. Keep up the good work. ☮️
I really enjoy these videos. I have a 2014 Impala 9c1 similar to the 2 you looked at, still has the spotlight. Mine had LOTS of holes from the cage and other police equipment. U pull it yard solved most of that for around $50.
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate you sharing that since I don't always know what folks like or dislike. Feedback like that really helps! And nice deal on getting junk yard parts to patch-up your Impala. Does your car have that oil residue on the air filter tube like the two cars did at this auction? What's that about? -Chris
@@hullinger I just did an air filter and cleaned my mass air flow sensor and found the little elbow piece where the oil residue was on those cars loaded with oil. Seems like it is pretty common on the 3.6l to do this as everyone I have serviced had it. I am somewhat local to you right by NE Philly and may have to check out that auction at some point. Thanks for all your work on the videos!!!
The Crown Vic’s were the nicest cars there
Can you look at other models to? I’m very curious about the minivans and some of the regular cars. Like how much they go for and in what condition their in, especially the minivans
I've done a few ride alongs recently and the officers tell me they DONT like the Caprices all that much and prefer the Crown Vics left in their fleets. Mainly because they said there is more room up front and after 90k or 100k the CVs still run good and hold up better.
Flitz will clear up those lights no problem as well as bring that paint and glass back
Another great video Chris! The C-Max hybrid I bid on went for $5100 they retail for about $7000 at a dealer similar miles. That caprice 9c3 was a steal compared to $11k they have gone for in the past
Hey Ben, glad you checked in! Too bad about the C-Max. It looked interesting. I was bidding on one of the Impala 9C1's but was outbid. It seemed that at this auction the prices were much better than in the past. There were some actual deals to be had this time. What do you think?
East Coast Classics as they age and get retired with higher miles the Tahoe’s and caprices will go down. As CVPI inventories decrease they will go up like the last gen ford rangers.
tap the bumpers with your foot, to see if there's any cyl. damage.
i would be interested in buying the L.E. center console bases from one of the tahoe's or suburbans. like what was in the first tahoe.
Love these vids. There was what seemed to be Early 2000’s JEEP Cherokee next to one of the cars you were looking at. What do those usually sell for ? Have you ever looked them over ?
That Jeep was a 1999 with 160K miles. The interior was really, really clean. While at the auction I glanced at it but nothing more and didn't have much interest in them. I know they have a big following and bring some good $$$ too. Here's a link to it if you're interested in seeing some pics. bid.usgovbid.com/cgi-bin/mnlist.cgi?govals1249/339
brings back a lot of memories, i went to A Lot of nyc suplus looking for a caprice. at like my 4th r 5th auction i was ready to give up n buy a crown vic, n i found a fkn gem. a 96 9c1 that used to be nyc campus security, clean as Fk, except on light hole in tha roof! 28k miles n i got for $2100, that was 04. i just lost it last month 190k 5.7 Lt1 still strong as Fk. anyway GREAT video👍
The Caprice 94-96 were FUN cars to drive. I used to buy them by the truckload as used cop cars.
Did you get that at Kent ave?
@@yefenofphoto lol exactly ol Brooklyn navy yard.
@@josephjimenez1460 yes there were a lot of great deals there back in the day, bummer that they moved it online
@@yefenofphoto exactly😢
I found out something about the Tahoe ppv if it has the 5.3 aluminum block it has afm if it has a steel block it doesn't have afm system
Great video. I wanted that tractor. Lol.
That tractor was drawing a lot of interest from folks at the auction. I'm gonna go berserk bidding on it when it finally gets listed.
I really love Ford , now i have 4cyl Chevy 2wd , small truck i do miss long bed , i live close to Amish country why i need a chance on 4x4 ppv or I love to have another Crown Victoria , if readend ratios is in 250 range to 287 , better gas mileage , last one i had i got up to close to 30mpg long drives , remember it was cop car , average 27mpg ,except town drive it kills it , nice V8 i had
I really enjoy these videos as I always wondered what condition the vehicles are. Would you ever bid on the Ford Taurus Police Interceptor Sedan if one was available?
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate you sharing that since I don't always know what folks like or dislike. Feedback like that really helps! And yeah, I'm waiting for a Taurus to show up at these auctions. I'm anxious to get one! -Chris
East Coast Classics be careful with the Taurus and Explorer. The water pump is driven by the timing chain. Multi thousand dollar repair job...
@@hullinger I really appreciate when you show what the auction cars sold for. The retail prices I seen on the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan have been as low as $9000 and as high as $18,000. Most seem to have the 3.5 or 3.7 6 cylinders with AWD. It will be interesting to see if the will be as popular as the Crown Vic's among those who purchase ex-police vehicles
I'm actually saving up for one of those Tahoes. My buddy is a cop and has a Black one man I've always liked them. But everybody says don't buy a cop car cause of the sitting while running hours
I know a guy in the Waco area that really needs a tractor. I've been told to stay away from the Impalas. I like them too, but been told they get to a point where they aren't worth fixing. No first hand experience of that though.
I have had alot of sensor issues on 12+ Impalas. Not really expensive to replace but still a hassle. Also a/c uses a variable valve compressor in which the variable valve goes bad. Have to replace the a/c compressor. Transmissions get a little sloppy in 4-6 gear. Rear struts wear out quick. They are fun to drive with plenty of power.
Is that guy you know that needs a tractor that same dude that has to cut 33 acres of grass with a hand mower? If so, yeah, that guy really, REALLY needs something like that Cub!
despite all the "alleged" issues, I do want one at some point - I think they look nice, drive well, and are comfortable
What website do you like to use to find these auction cars?
Thank you. It would be great if you, quickly, panned to see what other vehicles are sold in Government Auctions.
You got it. I had actually included some video of an overview of the auction lot but decided to cut it out to save time. I'll be sure to include those shots the next time. Thanks man! -Chris
@@hullinger Great. Thank you very much.
@East Coast Classics trying to find a decent condition CVPI 2005+ for under 2k, i'll even buy a patrol car that will give me a year or two to save up for a detective unit car. south NJ resident here, been scouring govdeals and muncibid the last few weeks and recently missed out on a decent condition 07 patrol that was recently taken out of service with 143k on it. what would be your suggestion besides that? I actually saw one of your previous videos where you drove to Avalon to check out a few govdeal cars. I'm thinking about driving up to the next Trenton state auction as well as maybe a few PA and DE auctions although id prefer to title/register/pickup in one day and not have to tow off the lot if it's able to be driven right there.
have a 97 marquis on its way out, won't pass NJ emissions, bad wiring somewhere along the way for the passenger downstream o2, its not the sensor itself and its not the female end that it plugs into, its somewhere else going up the harness. not spending the money on diagnosis+repair on the antique ecu. absolutely love the feel and look of the panther platform and that 4.6 v8, so much so that i am basically unwilling to buy a different car right now unless i HAVE to, and would love to have a newer vic/marquis 05+ but am especially trying to find a p71.
@East Coast Classics found an 08 CVPI from a local municipal auction on govdeals, so happy with the purchase!
Thanks for the video. So no bargains huh? Did you even bid on anything?
Chris, What do you mean by Idle hrs on the Ford products? I was assuming, listening to you, that Ford tracks engine time, only at idle. I know on those GM vehicles you are showing us, the engine time recorded and presented on the DIC (driver information center) is total run time (which includes idle time). There are several ways to read time on GM vehicles. It will depend on year and model. Some are in a menu, I believe they all can can be seen with the engine off by pushing the trip odometer button for a few seconds. My Silverado had 8984.2 hrs at 250,000 mi. total run time when I recorded it. That averages about 28 mph, which seems about right by my use of the truck. Great work on the movie! Ross
Recently bought a Tahoe PPV and the headrests are way too forward. Yours appear to be in a normal position but mine don’t seem to have adjustment for that. They are very uncomfortable, am I missing something?
I'll take a look at the headrests in my Tahoe in the morning. See if I can figure out the issue for ya.
The caprice with no caps is from DOC special ops
Wow man, how'd you know that about the Caprice and where it came from?
A
Can you take your check engine computer scanner with you on inspection day?
No cap caprice is my brother in laws old ops ride..... The caps was armored hence why they're missing.
hi. if it is possible could do one of a custom conversion van if possible if they get any. thank you very much your friend
I would really love to buy one of those Norsea Blue Crown Vics at some point. Maybe tax time.
They are really nice
I don't know Delaware colors at all but the white maybe a DA investigator, fire, CPS or what in California would be Cal Trans maybe?
Out of the channels that are somewhat like yours I think you would be the guy I'd like to just chat with. You seem the most approachable really. Not to say others are not or put them down in anyway.
I would love to own a crown Vic
David Riske jr >>> Then go live the dream and get one. I got one in July and they are fun & smooth to cruise around in.
While everyone else in the world is busy selling their souls to the SUV, Pick-Up Truck, and Crossover; we’ll still be driving *real* cars.
B3burner i plan on getting one in two years for my first car
chez cake >>> Well sounds good. You go get that Vic!
B3burner I plan on getting a police interceptor they are more heavy duty and last longer
B3burner my dad had a crown Vic for 20 years before having to get a new car
Sunscreen! Love your videos, I picked up a Good running SSV from the GSA.
See prices go down more and more on Tahoe, sold $7000. More recently price on Crown Vic have gone up 50% One you looked at sold at $1650 Lol
Is it possible that the Crown vics will be less at the auctions?
I hope that I get my Vic in the next two weeks. I'll keep you up to date, Chris. Greetings. Frank
Frank, I'm excited for you! Can't wait to start seeing some video on your new Vic!
Thanks for the update.love my 08 Cr Vic PI! ,in one of your vids last year you showed a huge warehouse of Vic parts such as rotors for 13 dollars, where is this warehouse or was it just in general? T.Y.
Chris enjoy your video(s). Next time.
I'm looking for a 2008 chevy tahoe ppv black
How much ???
Spray some WD40 on the door hinge and that squeaking noise will go away!
The 2011 CV’s seem to all go for huge money. I think the 3 2011’s I have at home right now were about 10k total and all had a fair amount of problems....smh
Hey Jeff, and yeah, I see the same thing with the 2010 and 2011 Vic's. They sell for top $$$ even with more miles or idle hours than an older model Vic. Folks just seem to love those 2011's!
Hey just a quick question, when was last time you saw a 91-96 caprice at the auction if ever?
I've never, ever seen a '91-'96 Caprice turn up at any of the State auctions here in Delaware. I have however seen a few on GovDeals. They are always beat and not worth the effort.
2003 when I bought my first Vic from Washington State (on my 4th Vic now)
Another great auction video! That white Tahoe went for nothing. It's always interesting to see how your sale prices match up with our sale prices down here. Enjoyed the video as always.
Alan, thanks man for checking in! Always great to have you along. I'm wishing there was some way to do a collab but I'm not seeing a trip to Tampa anytime in my near future.
@@hullinger - I may be finding a family related reason to travel up that direction at some point. If that happens, I'll let you know. I spent several years just across the border from you in Harford County, MD. Just can't promise that I'd bring a cop car. LOL
What is the link for these auctions?
Hi , Peter buckman my name, i miss having 3cars one break down i have another one to drive.
I am thinking of paying up and getting a 15+ Charger Pursuit AWD at the next auction I go to.
Dude, I'd love to hear about it if you get one. I'm loving the looks of those newer Chargers.
@@hullinger The Chargers are a blast to drive. My brother said they drive much better than the Caprice PPV. He patrolled in the Caprice PPV for years.
I haven't purchased a 15+ Charger yet, they still go for good money, like $7k.
What means ppv and ssv?
What is the auction site
Wish the Caprices were column shift
The 2014-2017 is

How many of those vehicles have been in water???
to go on one of those police actions. do you have to have a dealer license? or is it out to the public?
These surplus auctions are open to the public. No dealers license needed!
I definitely interested in this auction. I'm in NYC how do I contact them if possible?
Check out GovDeals, USgovBid, and PurpleHaze to see if any of these auctions are near you.
can you list the auction site? govdeals.com or publicsurplus.com ??
How can I find one of these auctions. Amazing video I wanna buy a Tahoe.

2011 & 12 Caprices? Hmmm... I thought the police stopped using the Caprices in 1996. How do the late model Caprices compare to the late model Impalas? As far as the police issue ones?
Hey man, thanks so much for checking out my auction videos and for your comments. I had made a comparison video last year between the Crown Vic and Chevy Caprice. Basically the gist is that both cars were available in 2011 for police departments to choose. If you have a few minutes, check it out and tell me what you think. ua-cam.com/video/QuV7sTOOSPs/v-deo.html As for comparing an Impala to a Caprice, I'm waiting to get an Impala so I can't offer any thoughts on that yet. -Chris
East Coast Classics >>> I just saw the video you directed me to. Very interesting. I liked the idyllic snowfall in your driveway. Nice touch.
I have a mint 09 P71 with 78K miles on it that I picked up at auction for $1,200 plus fees and I paid too much for my area of Phoenix. Your area is WAY TOO HIGH!!
I can’t believe what those chevys went for. They won’t even be making oem parts for those soon i’d bet.
God bless you my friend how are you today can you please give me a live formation I want to go and buy cars please let what I need will buy cars in this place thank you
Damn those cars are clean ass auction cars. I live in Western NY, every cop car auction here is the same: cars are filthy, dust dirt and grime on everything and RUST. Always rust. Trooper cars are always the worst. Damn I gotta get down to a southern state and get a nice clean Crown Vic.
David Spade with out the hair
So why do you think the 07 Crown Vic went so much cheaper than the 2011?
Folks just seem to love the 2010 and 2011 Crown Vic's, and they pay for it too. A 2007 or 2008 always seems to sell for about one-third of the price of a 2011 even with the same mileage.
@@hullinger Interesting, I haven't noticed that much price difference here on the west coast. I have a 2007 and 2011, really not much difference in the two cars.
The caprice has everything the Pontiac g8 has they are similar
There was a Jeep Cherokee XJ- did you know what that went for?
That Cherokee at the auction sold for either $1500 or $1600. It was super clean both inside and out. The paint was faded but otherwise, with 160k miles, it looked like it was a great buy for someone.
I wonder if they have any stuff like this in San Antonio, and yeah check out my music :)
Hi from Guatemala, I`m Emilio, and always wanted a Crown Vic, as a first response car in our fire station. how can i get in touch with you?
Hello Emilio and thank you for checking out my latest auction video. I love Crown Vic's too and they are fantastic cars that are durable and long lasting. Send me an email at ECCvideo@yahoo.com and maybe we can work out something for the next auction. -Chris
Holden Commodors all made in Australia
In the U.S. they're called Chevrolet Caprices
PPV Tahoes ride TERRIBLE. I pretty much only drive them to work the bugs out of them. The SSV drive SO much better.
Hey man, I think the biggest surprise I've had with my Tahoe PPV is the ride. You're soo right when you say TERRIBLE. That about sums it up in one word.

Well you didn't say, did you bring anything home?
Hey Pat! I was bidding on the nicer Impala but stopped at $4k. It sold right afterwards with the very next bid. I really need to unload some cars before I pick up new ones. I'm trying to be respectful of the neighbors, you know.
