- During this inspection there were a whole lot more folks than usual looking over the cars. But, there were still some really good deals to be had.

Woah the startup on that caprice with no cats at 6:19 sounded so good! Great video 👍
Congrats on the car!
Did you know that the Taurus Police Interceptor has a passing resemblance to the Audi S6? This was used to advantage by the team that broke the Cannonball Run record; they did a lot of cosmetic mods on their Audi S6 (including a grille that has a Ford Blue Oval, but reads Audi) in order to evade police.
Congratulations on the Taurus...man I wish I could find a nice clean 9C3 like that one for 8k...you get some decent machines at your State auction.
Pay attention here people. If a lot of those Tahoes have bad transmissions that means it is a weak spot so if you ever go to look at one of those as a personal car, not a government vehicle, but a private party sale, you will know the transmission will fail at around 100,000 miles.
So cool! I really enjoy watching these auction reviews. It's always interesting to see your perspective on these.
Congrats on the Taurus. Great content. Enjoy these videos very much!
Glad you like them and thanks for watching too!
Taurus.Car looks very good. Thanks for nice trip.
Congrats on the win. I love seeing what people do when they know they're being videoed by you. I was lmao when Joe boxer was shadow boxing.
Probably the Cat thief scoping out any new ones he missed
Videoed better then recording.
Congrats on the big win, looking forward to seeing what you do with the Taurus!
Your birthday card for your daughter is lovely. While I'm impressed by the beauty of the natural scenery, the sight of all those abandoned and deteriorating properties makes me sad. The bunker that once house the soldiers that guarded the "7 doors of doom" has the same claustrophobic quality of a submarine or the former WWII battleship I toured last year. The contrast between those properties and the natural environment couldn't be more stark.
CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW TAURUS!
Love this content, thanks for continuing to share it!
Glad you enjoy it and thanks for watching.
You deserve more followers man! Keep posting I promise only growth is coming.❤️
That Taurus is a beauty. Change the fluid in the PTU and watch for water pump issues. I love my 2014 but my son loves it even more. Great 1st car for him. It even has ballistic doors.
Cant wait to see the videos with that FPIS! Got mine brand new with 32.1 miles. It sat for 2 years for it to be sold to me but I love it and it never got put into police service.
Congrats on that win!
Congratulations on win looking forward to updates
Nice tour man, thanks for taking us along, wishing you successful biding man
Appreciate it and thanks so much. Thanks for watching too!
Also great video as usual, keep em comin! Love the auction videos, if you want tk extend them a bit go thru everything kinda like you did today but push mowers, busses etc would also be great!
Love these auction videos and the Ford Taurus score. I was disappointed in 2012 to be told that my rental car had been “upgraded” to a Taurus,.... until I saw it and drove it. It was black (my fav), 13 miles on it and drove like a dream. I can’t wait to see what you have been doing with yours. 👊👍☮️
But was it a sho tho
Lol anyone see the guy at 7:30 throwing punches at nothing in the background 🤣
What about the cat staring over by the impalas , geez they act like they never seen someone filming or a camera 🎥😅😅😅🤣🤣
When I was filming I didn't even notice that dude throwing jabs. When I edited the vid I couldn't stop watching him. Haha
Some nice cars there. I always like buying mystery cars like the Taurus for a discount. Deal of the day was that Charger. No way that was a seizure, it’s way to clean. It prob had some aux wiring for lights and equipment and the decommissioner was to lazy to put everything back together. I have seen that many times.
Tahoe was also a fairly good deal. Transmissions are expensive though. I have one apart on the bench, $1200 I have spent on parts for it. $3k if you have a shop rebuild it.
Congrats on the win can wait to see a video checking it out
I like that Taurus. Very cool. Even has a column shift!
I can't wait to get the keys to that Taurus. Thanks as always for watching.
Congrats on new taurus 🔥🔥
Congrats on the Taurus. Im surprised the Caprice didnt go for more
Look forward to a new Taurus video hopefully!
great vidéo, nice taurus
Congratulations on the Taurus, good luck!
Thank you! I'm a bit nervous about what I'm getting. I only hope the keys arrive sooner than later.
I would love the 3.5 ecoboost Taurus- would match the GT350 in the garage. The 3.7 suffers from the same stupid design Nissan/Renault thought was great. Internal water pump...pull the motor & take the timing cover. chains, etc out. Basically replace all of that when you go that deep in and do it right. Impalas would be 9C1. Durango would be decent with a 318 or 360; the 4.7 is problematic (it is the 4.7)- the prices are whacky high...
Couldn't agree more about so many of those prices. And that internal water pump idea seems to be a royal mess. I'm planning for the worse but hoping for the best with that Taurus. Thanks man for watching.
@9:28 rented an Impala Limited LS exactly like the one shown (right down to the color combo) back in 2015. I was actually surprised at how nice it was to drive. I wasn't expecting much going in, but it ended up being a nice-driving car.
Good video. Good content. I think That Durango was a good deal.
Love your video's I got a Tahoe not PPV it was a seizure for a great price site unseen, runs perfect, I swear I think the engine was replaced it's so clean, anyway I just don't get people running auction cars up to retail. I mean okay maybe in a nation wide auction some guy in Utah the price maybe great, but especially locally when everyone is on the basic same buyer playing field I don't get it? Thank you for your time and sometimes you look at cars I wouldn't and you hate cars I love, but we come together, lol
Congratulations on your purchases
Thank you so much 😀
I had a 4.7 with 285,000 miles on it drove it for six years no issues
I love the ford interceptors. Show us more on that please.
Good stuff! Thanks
Great vehicles. I usually see the Caprice go for alot more.
Awesome dude
Can't wait to see the Ford in the new garage.
In the beginning of the year I was planning on getting a different car around May or June. Looking at auction prices, plus Craigslist and a few other websites I guess I'll wait a bit longer. Fortunately I only wanted a new car, not needed one. Some of these prices are ridiculous.
Congrats on the interceptor. Will make a bunch of interesting videos.
I can't wait to get the keys to that Taurus. Should be a lot of fun.
Great episode. I would be interested in the caprice ppv. Dirty engine kinda bugged me.
Congrats on the Taurus!
Thanks bud. I can't wait to get the keys, or whenever they might arrive. It's a risky buy so I'm hoping it works out.
@@hullinger Shocks me that they’ve gone missing on a municipally-owned vehicle.
Here's hoping the Taurus keys arrive soon and the car is a little gem. Quick turnaround on posting the video.
The ford fusions and Impalas go higher than the Chargers and Tahoes at the auction I go to.
Chevy Caprices go near 9k as well.
Watch the miles on the driver ed cars. Those get a lot of idle hours from constant changing of drivers as well as instructor explaining stuff to driver. Lots of front susp/steering wear from practicing parking and similar. Multiply odometer miles times about 2. Same as postal or delivery vehicles. Bill in Renton-former driving instructor.
Nice Video! Here in NE the state has not had an auction since last spring. and now appears to have contracted an online 3rd party to take over everything, which sucks. Oh, and the 4.7L Powertech has a bad rep for a reason - It is a hand grendade with the pin pulled. All kinds of issues with the heads on those, it obviously will not be every one of them, but there is a reason you see a lot of clean Durangos, Grand Cherokees, and Dakotas from that vintage in junkyards. I spent 5 years at a Chrysler store in the service dept in the mid-2000's.
Good point about those 4.7L engines and thanks for that. Thanks man and thanks for watching.
It seems odd to me somebody would junk a vehicle for a mechanical issue. Just replace the engine and it is good for another 20 years.
that caprice was an amazing deal, a 2013 9c3 with a bad motor sold for 15k with 12% auctions fees
Agreed! That Caprice was the best deal I've seen in a long time.
Happy bidding
nice video
4:39 that’s OEM I believe. My 2016 Silverado has a power port like that as well.
Good to know and thanks for sharing. Thanks for watching too.
They seem to sell for less at NY surplus auctions. At least they did until they started holding them as online only with bidding running a couple weeks ending in a live auction.
Congrats on the Taurus i just had the water pump replaced on my 2013 Taurus. If you notice any coolant leaking dont WAIT. Change replace water pump immediately.
Thanks for the info
@@hullinger Water pump is internal.Once it starts going bad antifreeze gets into the oil and thats the end of the motor.Usually good for 150000 miles with coolant changes every 3 years or so.
The easiest way to tell a PPV Ford (Taurus or Explorer) is if they have a key hole in the trunk lids. The civilian versions do not.
just curious, will bit be hard or expensive to fix the keys issue in the taurus ? congrats and enjoy it :)
Nice Taurus Chris congrats can't wait to see it, nice cars over there and what a cute 6 wheeller 🙂
That 6 wheeled cart car was pretty cool to see. Not sure really what it's for though or why six wheels.
@@hullinger it's for moon riding or maybe sand yeah 😬😁
Auction prices skyrocket in April because people have a pocketful of tax return $. Go in December on a brutally cold day when people are broke & saving for Christmas for lower price. Parts maybe had to find locally in parts store for the rare 9c1 Caprice due to limited production and import to states. Lastly about state vehicle actions recently : due to Covid lockdown is the possible fact that these cars all been sitting and not used for over 18 to 24 months meaning once started and heated up- brake calipers sieze- head gaskets blow and so on. Still fun to go and have availability to have
a good deal. The price on the focus was astronomical. Get AAA tow insurance for some of the junk being pushed to public . BTW, you can't ride in AAA tow truck no more and get a free ride home because of Covid social distancing rules so be prepared to get an Uber. Lol, the State will sell you a car with no brakes.. can't they fix it before selling to put it on the road... Smh.. Just my opinion
My best auction deals were also in December. $600 2-years ago for a complete, running and driving 2008 Crown Vic. Less than a grand with fees and taxes out the door. After the auction I got some of the records from the County Sheriff's Office. They spent thousands maintaining my car.
@@mikesal8088. I bought 2 Crown vics from N.j. state police when retired off the road. First was 2005 black- street appearance package with beautiful velour interior for $950.00. It looked like Ford's finest mini Lincoln Town car but car was full of flaws. Found out transmission was bad driving off the lot. Couldn't get out of 2nd gear at 15mph... Got used trans installed in Queens N.y. taxi repair garage for $650.00 which made it back in 5he road. Long story short, every single mile after that was a huge disappointment with repairs from gaskets, water pump, control arms, leaky rear end plus bad windshield wiper motor in July. The car was a huge bum so I sold it. A year later, bought 2009 crown Vic at same Nj auction for 700.00. Wow, what a dream and perfect car mechanically but ugly paint. It drove like a 4 door sports car with good gas mileage. Sold that a year later for 4cyl Camry because job change for better mpg... Win some- lose some
Hey hey hey... Stop drooling on my car.
Chris, have you ever had a 9C1 or 9C3 Impala like the ones featured on this video ?
You note the relatively low mileage and the engine idle hours on these vehicles. How do you determine the engine idle hours? Is that information available with a scanner from the OBDII port? Many government vehicles can have low mileage, but extremely high engine idle hours.
Is there any sportie type vehicles for auction? (Like places that do?)
Internal water pump, PTU for the AWD, those bugaboos.
My question is what do you do with the vehicles when you buy them i have always wanted a police vehicle
Congrats! I was able to sit in one of those Taurus based Interceptors at a local show (it was a full on police car)...Very nice but nowhere near the great visibility you get from the Vic!
Why were there paddle boats and kayaks at a gov auction??
DE state Parks and recreation dept
I need a car congratulations on your win
Crown Vics and the old Caprice are the only "govt" vehicles I think are worth pursuing if you can find good ones.
I remember doing an alternator on a Ford focus ot had to come out the bottom it was nightmare
Wow, those beat up paddle boats even sold.
this guy can advertise for sweet foods and tooth paste with that nice voice
Jeff Bessos have's good taste. ✨
I hope when you start the Taurus up, there's No pwr steering whine because water pump and pwr steering are two of it's major flaw's both about $ 2,500 a piece for Repair.
I hear ya and I'm taking a big chance on that car. I'm not sure what I'm getting until the keys show up.
Ford power steering units have been whining for over 40 years. My mom could hear me arriving home at night a block away in my 1978 Ford Fairmont for p.s. noise. Almost a 1/2 century later- still no fix. Thier 4r70w 4 speed overdrive transmission from mid 80's to like 2011 (Aod) was so weak and yet, they didn't bother to reinforce the transmission on millions of cars sold to police. Fast forward to new millennium- the 2013 and on Ford focus transmission troubles. Some corporations are just plain greedy selling you thier 6 year disposable/plastic/styrofoam cars so u finish paying, get title then trade it in for next round of 6/7 year payment on next car off the lot. Shame how Dodge pickup trucks rust out over wheel wells after you spent 7 years paying off $60,000 in debt
@@robertdiehl9003 big difference in price for a Taurus compared to a Fairmont.
Great video Chris...... that Taurus looks like a winner and I think you will like it. Just can't understand why people pay good money for that Ford Focus with the powershift transmission.... what are they thinking? Thanks Chris and keep the vids coming!
Thanks so much bud and I can't wait to get the keys to that Taurus. Thanks for watching too.
I am looking for a quarter ton pickup crew cab regular bed to pull a travel trailer, can you help me?
Watch out for that dude shadow-boxing in the background.
Haha, Mike Tyson was auction shopping!
P0457 is essentially a loose gas cap.
Man that John deere for 200 was asteal!
WHOA! YOU GOT THE TUARUS! NICE CHRIS! Let me know how it is! im so jealous!
Hey bud and yeah, I'm pretty stoked about it. I just hope I can get the keys soon!
That 9c3 was very good condition im sure its gonna get posted for 14 to 15k somewhere
That Caprice was the best buy at the auction!
Whats up with the "no converters" you think? Stolen?
where is this delware auction at or what website at
Whoever took the converters knows the worth. What area of Delaware is that auction located Chris?
Hello How do you find out about those auctions there sir?
Where do I find an auction like this I’m very interested
Prices. On the uptrend some are selling@ retail prices wow there must be a shortage of cars
My 2012 Taurus doesn't have a gas cap, probably the same on the 2018, right from the factory.
Don’t water pumps usually go at 100k?
But what would u need them all for?? Scrap?
Interesting fact, DOC removes the police interceptor badge from all of their vehicles while they’re in service. Probably to avoid confusion
That is interesting and thanks for sharing that. I never noticed the missing PI badge on in-service DOC cars. Thanks for watching too.
How often are the auctions?
Do you have to have the cash or is there financing?
Manheim books that 2015 impala with 24000 miles at auction at 17500 the low miles are a 4500 add to price -one with 70k on it sold for 14k
The government agency prob paid less than 20k for it new
Gotta book it as Impala Classic. The new body Impala may do $17500 but the old bodystyle would be doubtful
2015 and newer Tahoe and suburban have many problems trans sensors watchout suburbans go 06 and back
Sounds like the state needs a big bitey dog to protect those Cats lol!
Haha, I like your dog and cat reference. Good one.
youll fill up your new shop fast...
Where locate?
big with conn. state police
Would love to see a video of the behind the scene of what goes into the auction. Where you find local auctions, registering, and payment/paperwork after bidding. Possibly looking for a auction Taurus in the near future!
Great idea and thanks for that. I'll work on something like that.
How to get to a government cars auction?
Why don't these cars have any rust?
