A couple of quality of life updates would be good but not changing the supers, they were setup for each class to have there role and each doing one thing better instead of one class dominating the other 2, titans were one of the best support class at the start now and D2 they are virtually useless compared to the other 2 classes, warlocks were great add clear and boss damage now they can dominate the other classes without breaking a sweat, hunters were support/dps now most just use them in crucible and trials instead of in pve. Personally I love D1 more then D2 I just wish there was a Oceania server due to poor connection with anyone not in Australia.
The lighting has always been a big part of d1 appeal. All the shadows and bright lights seem to hit perfectly. Compared to d2 where all lightning is done with these ugly fuzzy meshes. Makes everything look drab and muted all the time.
@@Melty-K they leaned quite a bit away from the original sci fi designs from OG D1. A lot of the new designs of gear even in sci fi based seasons look too theme-ey. It's hard to explain properly but seasons gear looks like they came out of a fourth wall breaking portal to match the theme of the season instead of gear that looks like they were created and belong in the world of destiny.
Started playing D1 when i was 15. Feels like a lifetime ago. I still remember I was grinding for the exotic swords in the heroic version of The Sunless Cell strike, trying to defeat the yellow bar nights within 30 seconds of killing the boss. Right after school, every day, I tried to get the boltcaster style one. Once I finally got it, the feeling was euphoric! To go back to a time before covid, before work, before politics, before responsibilities... I would give up a lot just for an hour on that day.
I just hopped on D1 yesterday to play the game and a random guy in the tower asked if I could help with this exact mission! Of course I said yes and holy shit did it bring back so many memories! D1 was an amazing game and that feeling might not ever be replicated in another game
Dude I remember the first time I got D1 and got done with the story I did some multiplayer and out of no where after winning a match a got gallon horn I was so fucking giddy when I got that and my friend fucking hated me when I had that weapon
I really love D1's atmosphere: the growls in the dark and the dripping of water in the tunnels under the moon, rain on Venus, blowing dust on Mars. You really feel like you are there on another planet. And, no Nimbus to be found anywhere.
@@ahlexanderit does. The last D1 expansion was great. We left d1 on a very high note just for D2 vanilla to be….what it was. They would have absolutely ruined D1 with the decision making they had for D2
When I was little I watched my dad playing destiny and thought it was the coolest thing ever, I remember how excited he was to get good loot, this year I asked if I could reinstall destiny on his ps5 so I could see the state of the game now, it absolutely shocked me and my dad to know that people still love and play this game
Crazy part is, most people that played D1 probably still have loot to chase. The exotics are so rare. That creates incentive. I jumped in the other day and found some guys going for exotic swords and they helped me finally get my dark-drinker. Was at Xur at 10am to get Zhalo Supercell for the first time (he actually had it). Currently farming skeleton keys for a god roll imago loop. Having fun building up my hunter and titan as I exclusively mained warlock in D1.
Bro I’ve been stuck on the last part of the exotic pulse quest from WOTM raid for YEARS. Helped so many ppl w the codes back in the day n they all had their own groups to run
If someone has completed the quest before they can buy another code thing I believe and help you out. I remember doing that cause I had 1 of each character and wanted to help people.
Destiny 1 released when I was 6 years old and my dad always allowed me to have my own character on his account until I got my own Xbox account for Christmas in 2016. I’ve had the same Guardian since.
Bungie has a mismanagement problem, Warframe came out a year and half before D1 and yet, Digital Extreme managed to evolve the game in a single client, 10 years worth of content packed into a single game, works even on mobile devices, I do not say this to start any drama but as a former D2 player who moved on to a similar style game I can't help but to compare the two. I love Destiny but unfortunately, I grew tired of paying for content that would be removed in the end, I want to replay year 1-3 content plus many of the seasons that were phenomenal but how can we?
If Bungie had any sense, they'd put D1 on PC and open up crossplay. It would extend D1's lifespan for years, generate some easy cash, and garner Bungie some sorely-needed goodwill among gamers.
Yeah i got so disappointed when i found out it didn’t launch on PC, became a “steam” player since 2020 and it sucks that i need my old ps4 to play this great game.
I asked a kid in my neighborhood to lend me $20 to buy this game at launch. Im 23 now and its the best decision of my life. Such a good game and community
I’m one of the kids who were super young when D1 came out. Dad would play it so much, and he still consistently plays D2 ever since it came out. He played Destiny religiously since I was a child. Then I became old enough to play, then my brother was, and my other brother after him. Dad and I have mained Titan the entire time while my brothers have switched around. Destiny is a huge part of our childhood I love it so much.
I was a squeaker at that time especially when I got the Taken King dlc I did Kings Fall I had a Destiny UA-camr call me a squeaker I believe it was Mtashed I never enjoyed his content anyway good times I'm 23 now I miss old gaming so much.
I miss d1 so much. I started to play it the first day it got released and it was a wonderful experience to play it for years and getting a to know other players. This is something d2 couldn’t give me for some reason
The worlds of Destiny 1 are so much immersive than anything that Destiny 2 ever produced. The worlds felt more alive, not necessarily due to world activities but more so because of the details and artistic designs. It has more of "realistic" sci-fi look instead of the cartoonish outlandish extremely colorful approach Destiny 2 has. Also while the story wasn't great it all, it still felt serious while in Destiny 2 I just can't take it that serious anymore. The Destiny 1 worlds in Destiny 2 just feel lifeless in comparison. Just look at comparisons and you immediately see how the worlds are objectively better detailed in D1 (including sound effects in the world). The grind in Destiny 1 also felt more rewarding, not because it had better reward paths but because of how exciting it was to get an Exotic due them being actual Exotic, both in power and availability.
I have to hard disagree with the "Destiny 2 versions of D1 content is better" Every single time they've added it they've made compromises or changed the narrative. As for the Raids, they added champions. Nuff said.
My only reasoning I needed to go back to Destiny 1 is that ALL the content from the main story to all the DLC/Expansions are still in the game and playable. I left Destiny 2 when they wanted players to pay full price ($60) for a new expansion that not only removed the main story from the game, but also the first 2 years of paid DLC/Expansions that players had already bought. Though they have also since removed the Forsaken paid DLC as well, which was honestly one of the best Expansions the story had received in a long time. Nah, I will gladly go back to Destiny 1 and reset my characters just to have a fresh playthrough of everything again.
I'd really like a Destiny 1 remastered, not because I miss the D1 content, but instead because I miss the feeling of Destiny 1 (and I don't think that's just nostalgia talking) Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 are very different games at this point. D2 is basically a full-on MMO with a major focus on abilities, builds and super chaotic gameplay, where as D1 is more of a shooter with some light RPG elements, and it's just way less complex overall. Don't get me wrong, I obviously love the power fantasy and buildcrafting in D2, but i also miss the simplicity and vibe (both in gameplay and art direction) of D1. Destiny 2 can almost be a bit TOO much at times imo. Sometimes I'd rather play an RPG-lite shooter over an MMO, so a D1 remaster sounds great to me. But just a PC port would be fine too.
The people who say it’s nostalgia are the ones who haven’t got back to d1. legendarys felt legendary and exotics felt EXOTIC and weapon crafting ruined destiny and if d2 had pc port with cross play lots of people would play destiny 1
Modernizing an old game won't do well especially if they put woke garbage in it like they did with D2 I think I'd rather play a game from a great year where that filth never existed.
@@NepFan485 yep. and theyre going to keep forcing it into everything and every aspect of life until they condition the overwhelming mass majority to accept it even at the cost of profit/sales in the short term
I feel that strikes in D1 are much more enjoyable and rewarding than in D2 which is partially why I enjoy playing it so much. I’m not sure why, but it’s easier for me to just play strikes for hours on end and always looking forward to the rewards in Destiny 1, something I find particularly lacking in 2
It is because of how they changed the loot system. There is no dopamine drip at the end of a strike unless it’s a NF. You just get rep and engrams to go to a vendor and roll on certain things. D1 had it down with the strike specific rewards and the addition of the keys. I’m a PvP guy myself but in D1 I did pve much more than I ever did in D2. All of the content feels like an inconvience.
They also started to add an almost childish level of humor starting with taking the super mysterious Xur and the 9 and turning it into a silly game show. Trials with saint is thematically goofy. They went the direction of Thor love and thunder/guardians of the galaxy. Went downhill from there
PVP was not balanced in D1 brother. You are letting nostalgia get the better of you lol. I know because I abused the crap out of all the broken things. My personal favorite examples are the last word two-tapping people and the one-shot melees that didnt have a cooldown timer at all. Bungie couldn't balance a PVP sandbox if their lives depended on it. One of the reasons I have almost zero hope for Marathon being good
Vaulting anything as far as content is fucking stealing I’m honestly pissed I can’t do the Levi raid anymore and I genuinely want a refund if I can’t enjoy the game I paid for
No matter how good there expansions are final shape and on, nothing they have added fills the voip of loosing that content and locations. The game still feels very hollow to Me. I’m extra pissed because i bought all the expansions after shadowkeep when they went “free to play”. A year later and boom all gone.
That’s the main reason why I left Destiny 2. No compensation for buying the base game when it wasn’t free and any early dlcs that were vaulted. Also having a battle pass and seasons was the last nail on the coffin for me. I loved the story but forcing you to play constantly to avoid FOMO is ridiculous, so I quit.
Agreed. I got Destiny 2 day one, bought the DLCs up to Forsaken. They removed it after I paid for it. Stopped playing it Plus all the DLC is confusing, don't know if they have been vaulted or not
I have barely started the video, and have not really kept up with destiny news, but the second you mentioned the idea of a D1 remake, I gasped audibly and stood up, pacing my room thinking of who all I haven't talked to in years to pull them back in for another raid on the VoG
It will forever be my favorite game. D1 in its final state with that age of triumph update is just beautiful and it’s always so fun to revisit and grind through all the expansions again. Every year or so I remake a new character and it’s such a good time.
My raid team started with d2 but after the vaulting we went to d1 for the first time and all the content for $40 at the time wasn’t bad at all. I’d say the strength of d1 is art style and the complete package story wise with d2 still not having its first campaign
I loved destiny 1 and played hundreds of hours of it. When part two released i couldn't get into it and quit.. Just started jamming D1 again and its still awsome
Before the Sony buyout, I could have imagined a D1 Classic would have been a possibility, but I doubt it could happen now. Especially since they’d have to go back and work with the even worse/older version of the Tiger engine, which god only knows who is left there that actually knows how to work with it, let alone deal with its issues. I’ve actually been going back to play D1 myself, currently on the 360 (planning to go on XB1 once I do enough and copy my save) and I’m genuinely shocked how much fun the game still is! As much fun as build crafting can be, gunplay always felt more satisfying and D1 delivers in that immensely. It also helps that guns don’t feel totally useless if you don’t have the absolute best perks on them. I haven’t played D2 since the final story mission for TFS came out 6 months ago, and it hurts me knowing that D2 left me so jaded for so long that I forgot how much I genuinely loved and enjoyed playing D1.
going back and playing d1 without other people or friends to chill with (in game) kinda has a very lonely somber feeling that is somewhat perfect for the world that they built
I started playing D1 when I was 7, I was originally going to get batman Arkham knight but a gamestop employee recommended my mom destiny because I was to young for batmans violence. I was super upset but it turned out to be one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Destiny 1 was and still is incredible
D1 is such a Great Game . While I only started playing it in 2018 I still come back mostly to play Crucible but I still have lot of Quests and Loot left to collect and finish
I’ve been grinding Destiny for 10 years now. Damn, doesn’t seem that long! I had the most fun in Destiny 1. It was more magical or something. Made a few good friends and had fun. LFG was friendlier back then to. I have avoided LFG for years now with D2, and D2 just feels like an endless sloggy grind. I’m actually going back to D1 on my PS5 as a solo player now.
I remember being so lost in the world of destiny 1 back when I was a 6th-7th grader. I still remember getting my first exotic quest and getting the thorn and having a little cheese spot for the strike bosses from watching UA-cam 😆 I’d always jump around the world trying to get out of bounds. A different time for sure
I went back to destiny 1 because my friend wanted to see what I liked about d2. I straight up told him "If it was before beyond light, I would have been happy to guide you through but the new player experience is so confusing, I got confused myself. At least destiny 1 will guide you through a straight path."
I just finished the original campaign this weekend and what brought me back was TikTok shut down, nostalgia. When it first came out I was 13 my game play style has changed so much so it was lot of fun
D1 is just that game that I like to go back to revisit. I’d say my biggest reason to go back is that now that I’m older and was finally able to buy the Rise of Iron expansion for myself, I can go a lot further than when I was 11 and first started my journey around the time the Taken King expansion came out. Problem now is that I’m very very late to the party so mostly everyone is gone and along with that, you can only go so far in a quest until you need the help of others which is something I still have an issue in doing since I first started.
Considering i only have pc i would ask for a port but knowing bungie... Yeah the fact that D1 players are happy and having fun is more than enough for me
That doesn't make it a superior experience lmfao. D1 also doesn't have a surviving play base, or any updates, no weapon shaders, no in game lfg, can't mantle when you miss your jump, less classes. Time to recognize you're cooked
@ The Xbox player base is alive and well. There are weapon shaders, you have to grind the weapons to earn them, none of that skill less wallet warrior cosmetic junk in here. Don't be missing your jumps, git gud. It is the same 3 subclasses per class, makes the Total 9, but 3 different ways to build those subclasses, so 18 different ways to build. So other than the additional of one class in D2, you're not missing much. OH did I mention, you can still play everything you paid for story wise? Yeah D2 cant say the same
Destiny 1 remastered would be a dream come true for me personally. It kept depression and death away from me in a very dark point in time. 🙏🏾❤️🔥 destiny is the first game that made me "Git Gud", "Grind", and truly branch out in what makes a game good to me. Putting the time and work in, seeing the difference while also enjoying the process as well as the desired result
I still hop on d1 honestly more consistently then d2. D1 is just a blast and I've got to say it's one of my favorite games, I really love it and hope as many people play it as possible.
I was 14 when this came out tried it on my 360 and wasn’t happening so I got it for $20 on xbox and I’ve been having a blast! 11 years later I still love it
I was 11 when D1 came out. Great memories on the game and continue to play it till this day. Just wish they had kept Trials and iron Banner in the game
I do hop on d1 weekly still but I will say some of the people(me included somewhat) playing this game I will admit also just can't move on I've noticed. Few me and my friends have asked if they wanted to try d2 the answer was "I'm not done with d1, I'm still missing stuff". While I somewhat understand this somewhat, these people have 1000+ clears on all the raids and some over 1000 on just one of the raids. Now I don't want to tell people what to do but it does make you wonder at what point should you move on?
I remember telling a group of friends who I play Destiny 2 with, that if there was a game that I could go back to play and never really put down. It would be Destiny. Both of them. I played the betas for D1 and D2 plus just the Vanilla campaign. But unfortunately the original group that I was going to play with. Dropped the game almost immediately. Since at the time a 'Live Service Game' wasn't really around and they couldn't wait for the content drops. Meaning I missed all the DLCs for D1 and didn't get back into D2 until near the end of Season of the Risen during Witch Queen. Watching this really makes me want to go back and play D1 and all of its DLC since I didn't get to do it when they originally came out
I remember playing the alpha when I was 9 and I loved the game. Then over the course of the last 10 years I became hooked and started playing all the time. I had over 5000 hours on D1 before D2 and now. Sadly I haven’t been able to play Destiny 2 in its current state. I do still love D1 tho, the music, vibes and feels are just awesome. I still love wrath too.
I'm a D2 guardian and when I started to play Destiny 2 (since they are the ones that made Halo originally). I wanted to begin from D1 but I couldn't find it anywhere (that was around 2020) so I was able to find D2 only in steam and have been playing it ever since, all these years wondering how much of a difference would be D1. I haven't been able to play D1 nor I know where I can download it. I'd like to try it! Thanks for the video man!
It seems a lot of people are not on board with the idea of a Destiny remaster and I don’t know why. Remember how well WoW classic was received? We could get the same thing.
Hot take here, but I would absolutely hate it if Bungie remade D1. Any changes for the sake of quality of life is just taking away that D1 charm, I would appreciate a remaster but not a remake.
I'm playing now. Destiny 2 is tiring, I feel like I'm never making any meaningful progress. D1 I can put down for literal years and come back to the same stuff without a complete GUI shuffle.
I still play D1 to this day and I adore it Man, a reset button to 2014 where we just progress back through as everything comes out again would be amazing Won’t happen, but I’d love it
I was 9 when d1 released, me, my best friend, and my dad bought the game and spent hours just chilling in the cosmodrome killing the hidden taken ogre/op knight on release tons of time running prison of elders and replaying taken king looking for lore ( I wanted to be a lore expert like on youtube ) also doing openworld secrets or glitching into raids while people were trying to run them
What id like to see is for them to find a way to compress the files and put d1 d2 and d3 all in one game that not only alows you to play the beginnings of d1 and d2 but also adds quality of life to old mechanics and teaches playes the full lore before launching them into d3 (depending on choice)
I've been religiously playing D2 ever since the Warmind. As an eternal PC player, I've never owned a console and never even thought about playing D1 after futile attempts to boot it up with RPCS3 and V4NGUARD, but just a week ago I've got an old PS3 from a friend of mine. A disk with D1 Legendary Edition is on the way. 11 years is a wild time gap to get into such game, but better late than never, right?
@@northwestclasspnw7974 if they made those changes, plus launched it on PC? That would bring thousands of new and returning players. A lot of people like D1 better than D2.
I’m not going to lie… I’ve been playing it a lot recently haha. My friend plays d2 all the time and bought an Xbox with d1 to see what it was like. Been loving every second
I played Destiny 2 before D1. Then CBgray decided to collect all exotic weapons and armor and I started to play D1 during that time. Great experience even knowing it was 30 fps. But the game felt awesome!! I recommend new players to give it a try.
I remember having to spend like almost 2 weeks grinding archons forge to finally get the last piece i needed for LL 400. I miss d1 and wish it was a bit easier to get back into but controller and low fov is rough now
Ok is no one gonna talk about how smooth that transition was? Moving on from that. I played Destiny 1 on PS3 for a long time. Me and my best friend played since we were little, like 8 or so. We played up until a couple years ago when we both got PS5’s. Even then we bought it on our modern consoles because we’re loyal to it. Love the game and it’s why I cling so hard to even the new Destiny.
As a somewhat active member of the D1 community, the reason it's still alive and kicking is because: while people may argue that the QOL of D2 and mass amounts of content may make it a "better" game (debatable), people genuinely enjoyed the story, natural progression, locations and overall aesthetic of the original game. There's nothing wrong with liking one game over another, but I'm glad that the people who prefer D1 > D2, have stuck with it and don't force themselves to play D2 just because others say it's the "better" option and is still supported. Also, underline that last part. The fact D1 isn't supported anymore, is an especially big factor because it means people can go at their own pace and focus on other things, without feeling like they have to play the game on a routine basis. Which is a big problem with the "progression" and current live service content moto in D2. Even in the past, D1 didn't really have this problem, aside from events, which really felt like true "events" and offered items that can't be obtained anymore. So if you still have your event items and Trials gear, kudos to you. Edit: also, replayability. Destiny 1 has a traditional, linear story experience and at any given time, you can make a new character and restart. The Exotic Archive is locked until level 20, but because Exotic drops are still active in endgame, you can go for a "natural" progression feel if you so choose. D2 basically gives you an abundance of free loot from the start and Legendary drops are immediate, they give you the choice of playing through individual campaigns, first, or jumping straight into endgame content even as a new player. This is wild to me, tbh. In NO game, should you boost new players as fast as D2 does, which really proves Bungie only cares about selling DLC and cosmetic items nowadays. It still breaks my heart that there's no way to play through the series in its entirety. Once you finish Rise of Iron, you jump straight into Beyond Light, skipping the Red War, Warmind, Curse of Osiris and Foresaken. Which is a really bad way to get new players invested into a series, because I'm a strong advocate for pushing people to start with the first game in a series or something that can serve as an introduction to the story. Destiny 2 and Bungie in-general suck at this and providing a proper, "full," new player experience.
Another thing that D1 has over D2 is the bounty system in that you can take your time getting them done and pick up more anytime you wish as long as you have the space. Compare that to D2 where bounties have an expiration date and you have to hurry to complete them or risk losing you progress; this is especially outrageous for holiday bounties that feel extra grindy for that reason.
Love D1 it’s my favorite game and I also played D2 recently, and the only thing I’d like to change is to able to get iron banner and trials armor again. Don’t make the subclasses similar to D2, nor the build crafting, nor the constant rotation of vaulted and meta weapons, D1 has its own unique features and one of them that. Realy like is that almost everything is viable. Sure there are meta weapons and strategies in the end game but for the most part you don’t need to optimize every little nook and cranny of your you build to be effective, you don’t need to worry about 30 different types of synergies between your armor perks and exotics. You can simply equip whatever you want and play the most of the game that way.
If anyone still plays this game or is trying to get into it and can’t find people to do activities with, I’ve created a clan for active d1 players. The name is “Active D1 Raiders”. The clan is open for anyone and I’m trying to build it up since it’s tougher to find people in this game.
I personally never touched D1. At the time I was a huge COD fan, it was actually my brother who got into Destiny and I played around a little bit with it, but it never really stuck with me, granted I was a teen at the time and didn't have the appreciation for games that I do now. But then fast forward to 2017, Destiny 2 releases, and I hopped right in with my COD clan who all also bought the game, and the rest is history. Took time off the game after Warmind and returned for The Witch Queen, then realized I didn't wanna keep buying DLC's for 40$ a piece. Thankfully they released the Legacy Collection which included alot of the old content, and eventually got Beyond Light, Lightfall, and The Final Shape. Definitely looking forward to the massive amount of changes that are coming with the next DLC.
Played though for a few weeks on a fresh character in September. It was a great experience. Saw CB Gray doing his exotic grind while in the reef. My first exotic drop was the thunderlord just like it was 10 years ago😢
Every season should have brought at least 1 new archetype to the game, like a burst fusion rifle archetype, a 1200 rpm smg archetype, Maybe a crossbow as special ammo, LMG as a primary(highlight on the Light part not MG), Daggers as special ammo melee weapon, Autocannon as a new heavy, 2 round burst Pulse rifles. And probably many more ideas to find. A "unique" Rarity for Armor which is "semi exotic" that either has small unique perks or is a "Set bonus" so if you equip a full set you get some boosts, lets say 4 of the same Set so you can still have an exotic the boosts can be similar to exotic perks where they either just give stat boosts or upgrade subclass abilities or whatever, point is you can have maybe 30 different sets just for weapon types and subclass trees making Build crafting so much more fun then have even more sets for more niche things like combos and buffs. Just adding a new archetype every season would make the loot pool and grind so much more interesting, it doesn't always have to be the best option, sometimes it is enough to be the most fun option. Also what ruined destiny was the removal of past DLC and the idea of not making "too good of an expansion like Forsaken" because it would make the worse ones look even worse. That along with the greed from seasons that never had any real new content just reskinned "do 5 patrols", "do 3 public events" type garbage. Dungeons were good, but should definently also been part of the paid season. Also seasons should have never gone and instead you should be able to replay them in a non matchmaking mode (to not draw players away from other things) and all previous battle passes should have been purchasable. Now the game is ruined and its too late, haven't played since witch king and never will play again because they don't deserve my time or money. I always wanted to return, but when I saw they are not making the annual expansions/ the expansions + the seasons are more expensive. All this content issue would have been fixed by bringing ALL content from ALL seasons and DLC back as OPTIONAL downloads, I don't care if the game would take an additional 100gb because 1. It is optional and 2. I have the space for that.
A simple solution I found for the Ammo Economy issue in both games is Icebreaker for range, Invective for shotgun in D1 and Legendary shotguns that roll with Discord, & Subsistance as it works just like the Invective with 1 extra step. The one thing I miss that D1 has that D2 Lacks are Elemental Exotic Primaries in Arc, Solar, & Void In the Primary slot. None of the Primaries from the Raids in D2 Feel "Special" when u get them from Raids because they only appear in the Special slot making it impossible to run all three base elements like u can in D1 which is honestly a real shame, as it makes Raid primaries feel far less rewarding..
I occasionally hop in to play the classic Strikes playlist. I wear the Alchemists Raiment so I have a steady supply of heavy ammo dropping. My biggest gripe with D1 is not being able to have a Scout Rifle and Auto Rifle equipped at the same time.
if D1 got a remaster and was released on PC i would happily buy it and replay it. i loved D1 and i do miss it as i no longer have consoles and just my PC
1:57 Not that laggy actually, never drops from 30 on a ps3 surprisingly and the only real criticism i have of the graphics is some of the terrain textures and particle effects aren't the best, other than that it looks and plays amazingly and wont get any less frames from a ps4. I thought it would be fun to try the original destiny 1 and it was the only console i had and it was actually really fun. Very well optimised especially considering most ps3 games even ps3 exclusives always dropped down to 20 constantly.
I started playing D1 as someone who never played it and had 2000 hours in D2. Started like 2 weeks, and it's all because of the price drops and since I want to play Wrath. Thankfully, I have 2 friends to play it with, so I always have at least one person.
The 350 Siva playlist and all strikes match-make with people of similar light level. So if you're not 400 or close to max the match-making is dead. At 400 strike lobbies fill up almost immediately. It's pretty dumb they don't allow lower light players to match with higher ones, as it negatively impacts their experience.

The thing that always surprises me is how much more realistic the art direction and lighting in D1 are.
The lighting has always been a big part of d1 appeal. All the shadows and bright lights seem to hit perfectly. Compared to d2 where all lightning is done with these ugly fuzzy meshes. Makes everything look drab and muted all the time.
D1 art was just better
Armor and weapons in D1 looked realistic, D2’s look plain and generic
I agree. The grittier artstyle of D1 is very appealing, and while D2 might be a better overall game, the artstyle of D1 is better, in my opinion.
And in D1 you’ll have the joy of knowing they won’t get rid of it💀
I started D1 during beta at like 24-25 years old and landed a new job. 10 years later still at same job😅
Night and day in Cosmodrome is always awesome to me
The reason it’s better is because bungie left D1 alone because they have piss poor decision making
That doesn’t make sense
@@ahlexanderit does. The last D1 expansion was great. We left d1 on a very high note just for D2 vanilla to be….what it was. They would have absolutely ruined D1 with the decision making they had for D2
Someone get this man a cookie that is so accurate

Then u didn't play D1 to understand @@ahlexander
When I was little I watched my dad playing destiny and thought it was the coolest thing ever, I remember how excited he was to get good loot, this year I asked if I could reinstall destiny on his ps5 so I could see the state of the game now, it absolutely shocked me and my dad to know that people still love and play this game
that is awesome
I like your profile pic. I wonder where its from 😁
Crazy part is, most people that played D1 probably still have loot to chase.
@@xTurtlePower. Outbreak Prime. I still need mine 😩 😆. Cleared the raid once. But I still run my Genesis Chain and Sound and Fury on my titan.
Awesome I still don’t have Weldfire shader been playing since release.
I had pretty much everything I wanted in d1 thing d2 comes out and we lose everything
Very good point with Warframe
If Bungie had any sense, they'd put D1 on PC and open up crossplay.
It would extend D1's lifespan for years, generate some easy cash, and garner Bungie some sorely-needed goodwill among gamers.
On point
The issue with that is exactly like you said. It requires sense on Bungie’s end.
I hate cross play hate it it's no good for pvp modes or games pve co op Shure but since pvp is a part of the game naw I'm good on that
For sure. I have it on PS5, but would like to play it on the Steamdeck.
Oh and to add…destiny 2 i dont like at all lol
did you pay him back?
@@K.A-87hell no
I’m one of the kids who were super young when D1 came out.
Do you guys also happen to like anime too?

This right here this how I feel
yep this so much, could have written the comment myself
I loved the atmosphere and mysterious feel in D1. The music too. Such a special game.
It’s funny that this video comes around, because I was recently going back and revisiting part one after the $20 price drop. perfect timing.
So many people are playing D1 haha I love it!
Finally again ❤️🔥@@ShadowDestiny
I have to hard disagree with the "Destiny 2 versions of D1 content is better"
Every single time they've added it they've made compromises or changed the narrative.
I'd really like a Destiny 1 remastered, not because I miss the D1 content, but instead because I miss the feeling of Destiny 1 (and I don't think that's just nostalgia talking)
Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 are very different games at this point.
My opinion is to let him like this , and only add new content not remastered, bcoz will ruin the game
@@NepFan485You need to grow up and get laid
@@NepFan485 yep. and theyre going to keep forcing it into everything and every aspect of life until they condition the overwhelming mass majority to accept it even at the cost of profit/sales in the short term
I feel that strikes in D1 are much more enjoyable and rewarding than in D2 which is partially why I enjoy playing it so much.
I’m not sure why, but it’s easier for me to just play strikes for hours on end and always looking forward to the rewards in Destiny 1, something I find particularly lacking in 2
I agree, I use to play strike for hours back in the day. The strike specific loot definitely helped.
Went downhill from there
Destiny 1 has personality, the raids felt like actual raids, pvp was balanced. Just better overall
Agreed
That’s the main reason why I left Destiny 2. No compensation for buying the base game when it wasn’t free and any early dlcs that were vaulted. Also having a battle pass and seasons was the last nail on the coffin for me. I loved the story but forcing you to play constantly to avoid FOMO is ridiculous, so I quit.
Bruh I actually liked Eater Of Worlds. They took so much from us
Imo destiny 1 subclass model was PERFECT. Was it balanced? Nope, but i love that chaotic feeling of being able to make my own build that somehow works
Honestly funny you made this. Just started playing Destiny 1 for the first time a week ago. Great vid as always!
You play on ps?

Your dad introduced you to "Love/Hate" relationships that day, both with Destiny and himself
@ lmfaoooo that is so true
Its actually crazy the fact that in all of this we still have the SAME enemies from d1 in d2, no other species to fight, damn
It will forever be my favorite game. D1 in its final state with that age of triumph update is just beautiful and it’s always so fun to revisit and grind through all the expansions again. Every year or so I remake a new character and it’s such a good time.
I’ve been playing this game for roughly 2 months. Your videos have really helped me get in to the game. I’m having a blast
Ty for this video can't believe it was just 4 days ago it was uploaded. Literally exactly what I needed to watch rn tho it's crazy Lol
Crazy how much better the graphics n design look in 1. The world seems much more immersive
I was revisiting videos on d1 raids and i really missed this game. I cant express how happy i am to find out its still so alive
Would kill for a Destiny 1 remaster. Drop a DLC from it every 2-3 months and lock us in for a good year.
Imagine buying destiny 2 enjoying the first raid and then they take it away and refusing a refund.
going back and playing d1 without other people or friends to chill with (in game) kinda has a very lonely somber feeling that is somewhat perfect for the world that they built
I recently came back playing pre-ROI Destiny 1 on my PS3. Surprisingly, I found so many other players! The atmosphere of this game is unmatched
I started playing D1 when I was 7, I was originally going to get batman Arkham knight but a gamestop employee recommended my mom destiny because I was to young for batmans violence. I was super upset but it turned out to be one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Destiny 1 was and still is incredible
i remember the good old time when i started playing destiny 1, i could barely read at that time, i was really young but it became literally my life..
I’ll never stop playing Destiny 1. ❤️🔥
I've been *really* enjoying the content D1. I really wish I'd gotten into it during release; I didn't start playing until after I got my PS5.
Bro is finally back! 🎉❤
We missed you broo
I started destiny 1 a week ago
You play on ps?
Welcome I’ll see you out there guardian. 🫡
What is your name u play on playstation?

Considering i only have pc i would ask for a port but knowing bungie... Yeah the fact that D1 players are happy and having fun is more than enough for me
I never stopped playing D1 until about 2 months ago. I got D2 this season and been playing that but I still go back to D1.
I've gone back to D1 twice. It's fun starting over.
I miss titan skating😔
It's the superior Destiny experience. All content from day 1 is playable. Everything. Destiny 2 cannot say the same.
Putting the time and work in, seeing the difference while also enjoying the process as well as the desired result
i liked and watched the whole lawn mower package sponsor ad because you edited that super well haha
I miss when I had a PS4. D1 was a big part of my life. And I would go back if I could
I still hop on d1 honestly more consistently then d2.
I bought D1 yesterday with all dlc's in Playstation and I'm still shocked HOW THIS GAME AGED SO WELL!! It's beautiful!!

Hot take here, but I would absolutely hate it if Bungie remade D1. Any changes for the sake of quality of life is just taking away that D1 charm, I would appreciate a remaster but not a remake.
2:49 the best ad I’ve seen in ages missed opportunity tho could’ve made the lawnmower exotic in d1 style vs d2
I'm playing now. Destiny 2 is tiring, I feel like I'm never making any meaningful progress.
D1 I can put down for literal years and come back to the same stuff without a complete GUI shuffle.
I still play D1 to this day and I adore it
Man, a reset button to 2014 where we just progress back through as everything comes out again would be amazing
Won’t happen, but I’d love it
Man I would do anything to go back to those days. No game has made me feel the way Destiny 1 has, its such a special game to me.
D1 was an amazing time in my life!
Destiny year 1 never gonna get those feels again
I was 9 when d1 released, me, my best friend, and my dad bought the game and spent hours just chilling in the cosmodrome killing the hidden taken ogre/op knight on release
tons of time running prison of elders and replaying taken king looking for lore ( I wanted to be a lore expert like on youtube ) also doing openworld secrets or glitching into raids while people were trying to run them
What id like to see is for them to find a way to compress the files and put d1 d2 and d3 all in one game that not only alows you to play the beginnings of d1 and d2 but also adds quality of life to old mechanics and teaches playes the full lore before launching them into d3 (depending on choice)
Now THATS how you drop an ad 😂 I didn't even see it coming until it was to late 😂😂 too smooth.
I wish Bungie would at least update Destiny 1 so it can run at 60 FPS, and add a FOV adjuster! They did it for D2.
Well yeah, D2 is their current game. Why bother working on something making them no money?
The best add ever! I never watch add, but this manscqpr add was!!
Definitely looking forward to the massive amount of changes that are coming with the next DLC.
i quite literally have everyting lol one of the few games for me. Every faction shader and ship is still my T1 accomplishment i miss it sm
You making me wanna get this game since I already play d2 too
Played though for a few weeks on a fresh character in September.
The game has a different vibe than Destiny 2. It feels magical and mysterious. Where Destiny 2, at least to me, feels like Plain Milk.
If they added crossplay and a server selecter that would be a win in my books
