Remnant 1&2 not only both have matchmaking, but they're also not looter shooters. The only 'loot' that drops from enemies and chests are consumables and upgrade materials. All guns are found in 'static' locations or crafted/bought, same with the armor. They're also incredibly fantastic games and I hope people don't get turned off from it because of this.
thank you for explaining it i was a little upset that he gave it such a bad rep. remnant from the ashes is really good
@@sixstringsam5885 Yeah I'm really bummed he gave it a failing grade, when it's such a great game that doesn't match the genre he's ranking. I just know people are going to see this and immediately write off the Remnant series now because he didn't recommend it.
"Let me make a video about looter shooters but I cover a game that's not a looter shooter" and then proceed to give it a 1/3 review without even completing the first mission (The Tutorial) and unlock matchmaking.
We're moving backward on reviews, a decade or so at this point.
Guess it makes sense that Remnant doesn't score high on a scoring system designed around what you want to find in a looter shooter.
That being said it *should* have been a 2/3 as it does have matchmaking once you get out of the tutorial.
Seriously, Remnant 1 is one of the best games of the 2010 decade. Remnant 2 is the same for 2020 for me. It's really more of a dark souls type of looter/rpg. Definitely has matchmaking.
Outriders is one of those games that they paid content creators to play for a week then when the contracts all ended literally everyone left
😭
I feel crazy. I don't remember Outriders ever marketing themselves as Live Service
Thats the average streamer sponsor in general.
A darn shame cuz Outriders was fun
Real, I liked the game too. It had its fair share of issues but I was onev of the few who played it all the way through
They never marketed themselves as live service. Game was hot ass, but it was fun with the homies.
Lets be clear about the remnant games. They are infact multiplayer and are not looter shooters. The Remnant games are a souls-like. Also the matchmaking is different in both games BUT its more of an old school type match making where you join via a list of people from the menus or you leave your lobby open and people can join.
outriders had so much potential when it came out. i remember running the story with some buddies. i still think it’s a great game. fun times
I still play outriders
I feel crazy. I don't remember Outriders ever marketing themselves as Live Service
@@ReeceRacc they did
@ its not live service he was testing any looter shooter
Had a lot of fun. I tried to play the flame warlock thing but got locking into a glitch on the one mission with no way to reset it so... ruined the replayability but I liked my first char.
remnant is more of a souls game. loot doesn't drop everywhere and weapon options are very scattered
Yeah, Remnant is definitely not a looter. Like you said it's a souls, with some rogue elements. We each get a different world seed too.
Hearing remnant is a souls-like makes me cringe so fucking hard fr
@@MrNuclearz That's what happens, people see rolling, save stations in the form of camp fires/bonfires/any type of sitting resting save station, and hard bosses and call it a damn Souls-Like
@belleybutton4335 even though the gameplay isnt even close to any souls like.
@@MrNuclearzI mean… there’s several core aspects of the game that preform similar to a souls game. Ya know kinda “like a souls game”. Souls-like if you will?
Borderlands / Wonderlands isn't known for multiplayer. Most of the community plays it solo, it is just overall more enjoyable and more fluid for endgame players, which is what most the active playerbase does, so kinda makes sense on why you will never find games
Borderlands is awful solo lmao. Where is this false info coming from
@@Scarring4Life I rarely see any content where people play together, specially since there are so many tutorials in how to defeat raid bosses alone in all classes
@@Scarring4Life that is very much subjective to you lol but as far as I know cause I have been deep into the community, most people playing endgame and farming bosses play this game solo
Yeah, i've finished all games solo.
I agree, the only time i really did multiplayer is when i was duping weapons. I’m currently playing through BL3 and will end up just trying to make builds and get weapons that let me solo raid monsters
Anthem is the abandoned looter shooter which by far and away had the most potential
I agree. I also really loved the division 1 and somehow they completely ruined it for 2. Something about the first one was just so good I wish they had just kept adding dlc instead of killing the series with the second game. Could say the same for destiny. D1 was a masterpiece d2 has been 7 years of spinning the drain.
@@zaccarman6683total agreement, division 2 came out around when Anthem released and I remember being so hyped for both and ultimately let down by both. Anthem just needed more support, the gameplay was so fun.
I dont get why ppl say div 2 is bad... I really enjoyed it. I thought it was amazing and one of the few games that made me just walk around in awe of how good it looks. The game still had a lot of players whwn i actively played it some months back so I dont see how it can be called a bad game
@ I think it would be looked at better by me if I didn’t play the hell out of the first one. I still finished the main story in 2 and got into raids(not a fan) but if I had to choose one to go back and play it’s 1 every time.
Couldn't agree more.. this game had the most potential. Its a shame the campaign was too short. Would've been cool if they expand the maps and added new javelins. I've been enjoying the Colossus and intercepter the most. Wish there was some sort of PvP
i aint gonna lie trying to find people through the borderlands match making is just something 95 percent of the playerbase just doesnt do pretty much anyone who plays these games are in a solo session or with a buddy
Yeah... I run solo 90% of the time. IF I want to play with someone ... I ask a friend. Don't want some randos. 😅
Remnant is not a traditional looter shooter because the gear you find in specific locations by solving puzzles, completing quests or hidden areas. Is much more a Souls Game with Bullets.
Remnant 2 is definitely a MUST PLAY game btw
It's on PS Plus, I was thinking of giving it a shot
@@DialogicDimensionsIt's definitely worth it
The borderlands series (TTW is part of it) always has satisfying loot drops, where it just explodes from the boss. Though the reason you didn’t find players is cause they’re either playing BL3, or waiting for BL4.
For the matchmaking, think like Destiny when Forsaken came out - the community was there, just on the most recent update rather than an old one.
Also the fact that most people prefer to play solo anyways as it is the most smooth experience if you are farming for stuff and playing endgame. Most of the community prefers solo these days
Also i'd argue, that there is a massive differrence between a live service game and a looter shooter. Matchmaking and finding lobbies is a live service thing like we see in destiny and outriders. The entire Borderlands series and TTW even though it has matchmaking(The fact it even had a type of matchmaking suprised me) is a game you play alone or better with friends and thats it.
nah real ones still farming for hybrids on bl1
@@firesomar for borderlands sure thats mostly because the game boils down to oh ur this character cool spec this run this ur good and we all know that gets lame
@@briar4978 what does this have to do with the game being preferred to play solo in endgame
The good old days of D1.
Must say it is triggering seeing the Cosmodrome as the title 🤣
But Remnant and Tiny Tina are not abandoned. They are single player games, with co-op elements, that have finished they dlc cycle. It's like considering Devil May Cry or Super Mario abandoned.
Destiny 1 should be mandatory for eveyone to play who wants to persue an art related career. The game is a masterclass in Environment Art, Art direction, sound, light, skyboxes, and environmental storytelling.
sad that they abandoned basically all of the science fantasy epicness they had going with d2...
so real they abandoned all mystery, intrigue, and emotion in d2
FOR REAL
No they didn’t
@@ratiotile3226they didn’t
Too bad you need a group to actually get through the entire story (raids etc...)
I don't think its fair to call the remnant games "looter shooters" sure you shoot shit and get loot but it behaves more like a souls game where you get specific loot from specific bosses.
Strike specific loot????
@@cqb3814 ok you forgot about the rest of destiny though, there isnt really any of that in remnant
So then that clearly classifies it as a looter shooter 🤦🏻♀️
@@nexus3262then it’s just a harder borderlands, no?
@UwUchibix You don't even get weapons from bosses, you get crafting materials from the bosses, then you craft boss weapons at base, it's not a looter shooter, its a souls like shooter if anything.
When I think of a looter shooter I think of a game with weapon rarities, loot dropped by both bosses and minions, and such. Remnant I wouldn't really put there while yes you kill bosses and loot them, they don't have "Rarities" in the sense something like Destiny or Borderlands has. I'd also argue Borderlands isn't necessarily like the other looter shooters where Destiny and them are specifically targeted towards making players team together, Borderlands isn't like that I'd argue it's mainly an offline/solo looter shooter calling it "Abandoned" isn't the right word I'd use, it's no where as popular as it once was I'll give you that, but it's still got a community albeit a tiny dwindling one (thanks Randy)
...but the Remnant games aren't looter shooters?
they share more DNA with the Souls games than they do with any looter shooter
hell, there is no looter shooter DNA in Remnant
i would agree, steam had listed it as one tho, not sure exactly why
@@Sweatcicle
Weird, and it's not even a dead game considering I steal hear people talk about it to this day, especially Remnant 2, apparently the final boss was NUTS and the way everyone talks about it makes me wanna play the game
There is also absolutely matchmaking in remnant 1. From the world stone. Stupid twitch chat is stupid.
youre an absolute
nerd
@kaijukingofthemonsters1075the final boss took me 50 tries it’s legitimately insane
If we are talking about their peaks, The Division 1 is my favorite looter shooter.
It just had something special going on, idk. The atmosphere in that game was just different, I also really loved all the new game modes we got via expansions, the global events, Dark Zone shenanigans with the boys.
Man I miss that time, TD2 was ok but it just couldn't reach the first game at all.
Dark zones in TD1 died quickly due to the public ip issue they never fixed
i agree. they messed up TD2 because ubijerks execs wanted a new esport so they split the zone into smaller zones to force pvp shootouts over the extraction. no more avoiding pvpers. no more pvevp, just pvp and even the pvpers switched once conflict mode came online.
@surtr2538 Not sure I can agree with that statement. I played the game pretty actively over the entirety of its livespan and I can't say I ever noticed the DZ actually dying. Sure, at times it was pretty quiet, but that's to be expected with a game like this. It always managed to bounce back and keep players engaged.
@surtr2538nope
I honestly liked how the first game took place during the winter in New York, which allowed for more precarious weather like snow storms if I'm remembering correctly. It was overall just more cinematic/immersive as well. Not to mention that the jackets looked nice
Brofessor if you see this...know that Remnant is in fact NOT trashand and fun fact idk why sweat played it since Remnant games are not looter shooters....they are Souls like rpgs with guns
Also sweat i beg of you stop calling Remant a looter shooter couse in no way this and Remant 2 are looter shooters
@@sirshay6156loser activity…
"abandoned looter shooters" *proceeds to play remnant* ...... what? LMAO
1:26 the massive boba spam in chat lmfao
Remnant has a matchmaking system you just have to progress past the first area to get to it. Its a pretty solid game though
remnant is a fantastic game that has crazy replayability with its secrets and alternate scenarios. it just doesn't do random drops
13:09 borderlands games are pretty much always like that with matchmaking everyone seem to play solo or with friends
Bro pulled a Bungie, "the loot is exciting"... gets a Mote of Light lmao
CB laughing maniacally when he sees you're going through the pain of D1 had me rolling
Bro's first Borderlands game was Wonderlands 💀
"Is the loot drop system good? Yes" *explains the most horrid loot system known to man after dropping a single mote of light*
for anyone who have not played them it's important to know that both remnant games are not looter shooters but souls-likes dungeon crawler type games and they do have matchmaking but it's not like other games as it is targeted to specific locations and quests to help people target farm specific gear
the way you get weapons and armor is also crafting and exploration based so you won't get any lootsplosions
Seeing a lot of people say that Remnant isn't a looter shooter. I agree fully! But while I didn't see this stream, I get the vibe from what Sweat is saying about it not feeling like a looter shooter that he might not have chosen these games, or else, didn't know enough about them to place them in the "looter shooter" category.
90% of the fun of wonderlands is finding new ways to multiclass and do ridiculous things which requires multiple max level characters and hours upon hours of farming but if you're into that, game's a banger tbh
8:25 this moment made it all worth it lmfao
14:07 the game is meant to be people playing tabletop DnD in someones basement so the writing and voices are on par with how they would be with people in real life playing DnD with friends in a basement
I adore Remnant 1 and 2, both are some of my favorites out there. I have yet to dive into 2 at the same level I dove into 1, as I haven't bought the DLC yet, but both are pretty phenomenal imo
DLC are great for 10 bucks, the remnant community wanted more from the DLC but I didn't mind what they offered for 10 bucks a pop. I had fun c:
@@MathiasGoatedme too they were enjoyable experiences for the price point. I really like the first dlc archetype.
Remnant 2 is a MUST PLAY game. Dont think twice, just play it
@gabrielamorim7287 I would lowkey argue that Remnant 1 is also a must play
17:41 PvP is usually pretty populated at night in the weekly featured playlist. You’ll probs end up running with the same lobby for a lot of games though.
The Remnant series is really good, but it gets better the further in you get. I find the survival mode to be one of the best parts of it though
Never played borderlands with random players, better with friends or entirely alone bro. Remnant same thing of borderlands, better alone. Destiny 1 is a masterpiece and is better with friends
15:30 I guarantee those on Destiny are on there because Bungie has forgotten about it. In other words they’ve stopped destroying it like they are with D2
Ironically, anthem matchmaking still works. You can find a lobby In 2 minutes
Calling Remnant a looter shooter is the same thing as call dark souls a looter shooter. It isn’t.
The fact that Outriders doesn't have an offline mode is incredibly stupid. The devs should patch it towards EOL, and if they don't, hopefully some modders can work their magic.
Orange, black, white clothes?
Baseball bat?
Man looks like a hoyoverse protagonist now
BL4 coming out, I love the series. It’s had its short comings, but it’s still pretty good. 1 Nostalgia - respect - lore o7, 2 Story and Levels, 3 movement and game play, Tiny Tina’s variety in build trees and end game level dial. Would watch a replay series or you trying builds out and reacting leading into new game drop. 🤷🏻♂️ if im minority, but thought I’d throw it out. Much Love. ❤
Outriders is very underrated. I played it for quite a while and need to return to it. The progression system was weird, in my opinion. Since enemies are always scaled to your level. You're pretty much just increasing your stat numbers.
outriders is actually a game I fondly remember. Got it with some friends while I was still playing on a relatively crappy laptop. Always had input issues when playing with friends and solo, but seeing it again really reminded me how much fun I had with it. Maybe someday i'll reinstall it, and play it again. Who knows, maybe I'll buy the dlc as well.
Rem 1 is not a looter shooter . Its a survival shooter ment to be more soulslike . Also u join from the character select screen the idea of those games is to play the harder difficulties and or survival mode and in the begining u survive with what u got
Remnant 1 & 2 do have matchmaking, when you pick your Caracter in the main menu screen you have 3 options ( Offline,Online and Friends ),so the matchmaking is treu online.
Btw little note Remnant is the shooter version of Dark Souls
Borderlands series isn't really a game where you tag along with random people u just rush trough the campaign and just farm loot to build your character and get to the next difficulty level
Watching you use a controller makes me so glad that you can play on PC now
15:00 play the first 2 borderlands don't waste ur time with the new ones😂
Shadow warrior 2 is an underrated looter, no matchmaking whatsoever though
I will die on the hill that Shadow Warrior 3 should've been a looter shooter, SW2 is one of the best slashers i've played in a while, the story was dumb but fun and the gameplay was amazing, the chainsaw sword legit made me appreciate good first person melee games.
Borderlands commentary is some of the best in gaming. So funny please don’t turn it off
i still think outriders has the best solution to perk based loot systems
which is being able to replace a perk with another from a gun/armor piece you've already found and dismantled
so instead of having to grind out a perfect item, you only have to grind out a 4/5 (non apoc) or a 5/6 (apoc) item
much more time respecting than trying to get a natural drop 5/5 god roll in destiny
I personally think you have a top 5 Jev rage impression!

There's absolutely alot of people still playing D1. I was just playing last week and the tower always had at least 10 people in it
Remnant is so fire 9:50
some of these games weren't even abandoned it was just at the end of its life cycle.
Of course wonderlands is gonna have a good loot system. No one ever plays multiplayer with randos in borderlands games. You’re either solo or with your real friends 😂
Havent we been playing an abandoned looter shooter this whole time
Hey ive seen these types of videos before. Not bad, its a great idea. Rye games and Redlyne. They are really interesting, I love seeing someone delve into these older games. These 2 are the best dead game cavers.
Ughh, the loot sound at the end of crucible matches hits hard, damn does that bring me back.....to a time when loot was exciting
Prime sweat would’ve solod that strike in less than 6 minutes
Loved tiny Tina's adventures. The loot is plentiful in the borderlands game's.
If you liked Tiny Tina Wonderlands, highly recommend a full borderlands playthrough in general
I absolutely love Borderlands, it's the entire reason I even tried Destiny 1 when it launched and fell in love with it and am now a hardcore D2 player, but I didn't like Wonderlands at all. I loved Borderlands 3 and played every dlc and even took a break from Destiny to play it, and I can't wait for Borderlands 4, but Wonderlands just didn't feel the same at all.
didnt even know remnant was a looter shooter. always seen it as a gun souls game.
''less ability spam'' D1 was abysmal for sticky nade spam, nobody even shot their guns towards the end of the game 😭
Lol id get cussed out in pvp custom lobbies with my buddies cause id run around with sticky nades. Its fun though cant help it
I see where you decided to go with this channel and I’m here for it
Remnant is gas bro, you should give it another chance some time
Uk d1 player here midnight seems best time to get full pvp and pve lobbys plus the team finder thing on xbox
Was fully expecting to see Athem on the list, imo it had just as much potential as Outriders but was handled poorly.
Honestly anthem wasnt that bad on launch but it became one of those games streamers dunk on because it was trendy
You certainly click baited with that thumbnail because I've been on and off Destiny 1 all of 2023 and 2024 and the game has been consistent in the amount of players, new and old, old with new accounts too, and it's refreshing to see all the love it keeps getting. The game is solid as hell, and I personally like it more because you actually have achievable goals to grind for that you don't have to worry about losing a season or so down the road. Even when you have everything the game is still fun and offers more ways to challenge yourself. Awesome game!
On another game, the only one there I actually also played was Remnant 1, and definitely a solid game meant for teamwork and goofing around, it's a lighter dark souls game that is just a ton of fun to derp around but not something I would play long term, definitely a pick up and put down.
was half expecting this to just be a normal d2 video
REMNANT IS NOT A LOOTER IT IS A SOULSLIKE
Dog kisser
Wonderland might surpise some folks. No it's not going to have heavy multiplayer queueing but it is really fun solo and the dialouge is actually pretty funny most of the times
@8:35 it’s funny cuz bro is one of the light striders in the light fall dlc, he’s the one who died…ironically it’s also lee from telltale twd
outriders was fun. i played through it solo for like 100 hours last year
to be fair i see Remnant as a story game more than a loot shooter
Remnant and remnant 2 are both fantastic especially with friends
The First Descendent is pretty good!
Giving it 5 minutes isnt fair when it takes 30 minutes just to find a match in destiny 2 crucible.
I wouldn't call Tiny Tina's Wonderlands or the Borderlands series in general, an abandoned looter shooter since majority of the players including me prefer playing solo or coop with their friends over public matchmaking.
I dont see destiny 2 here ?
Destiny 2 is far from dead
@@adilsagadiyev5090not if bungie don’t boost up their ideas
@@adilsagadiyev5090 lol bungie killed that game the moment it became microtransactions heavy😂 cope
@ but it’s not dead, learn the definition of dead game
@@adilsagadiyev5090it's definitely falling off. All of my friends including me quit the game after they laid off a bunch of employees recently.
Destiny 1 just hit different.
Outriders was so good. Wish they had kept delivering content .
That wonderlands game looks so sick I’m sad I never found this game when it came out
The Tinas Wonderlands had some loot drop issues on launch, I have played trough the entire story getting only 2 legendaries
Outriders was so fun until my entire inventory vanished. It never came back, even after the patch. Support just told me "Oops, sorry about that. Make a new character"
4 players in borderlands 2 in ultimate vault hunter mode with overpower 8 was a headache. I tried it once and said nope lol
In D1 you have a higher chance of getting a matched with people in strikes and getting a match in pvp on weekly reset
Whoever told you Remnant 1 and 2 were looter shooters lied to you.
Remnant one is a lot more basic than Remnant 2 but it's very fun with a friend
Merry Sweatmas everybody❤

"stop missing!"
say the guy with a controller instead of mouse+keyboard
Played Outriders with some buddies when it came out, we had a blast, but it died out within a few weeks.
The gem in d1 pvp was abilitys had great play potential but we're cooldowned perfectly and the movement wasn't more op than any ability.
Showing D1 in the thumbnail is criminal
The Remnant disrespect
Remnant is still a classic
Ever since playstation got rid of communities, I hope and pray there's just a random in the tower who sees me and wonders "Maybe he's interested in a raid?" because I got no more friends who play D1.
