    I love how the "rødgrød med fløde" was represented by a bowl of oatmeal, when it's actually made of berries, and the "hakkebøf" was represented by some huge steak, when it's a beef made from minced meat lol

      Jaa, flere danskere :D
      Men ja, specielt Amerikanere har ingen idé om hvad Danmark er.
      Da jeg var i New York, troede folk at det enten var i Kina eller et eventyrland, pga H.C Andersen.
      Og vi havde endda en gadesælger der forsøgte at bilde os ind, at han var kammerater med H.C Andersen, og derfor da godt lige kunne give os lidt rabat.
      Da vi så sagde at han altså var død, blev han først helt flov, og derefter gik over i kondolere. Da vi så kom med "He's been dead for over 100 years, so I think we're pretty much over it now, but thank you." kunne han godt fornemme at han bare skulle finde en anden nationalitet og hustle med i stedet :p. The more you know ;).

    Æ is a little bit Like the Way you say e in "hey" . Can't explain ø, and Å is Like the U in "underwear" :') or the o in "Ohh" there is 2 ways to say å... I Think... It's kinda hard to explain.. Hehe

    • @jessicapolley4720
      @jessicapolley4720 9 років тому +1

      The way I had it explained to me for ø was "Rød" sound like "you're trying to say 'roll' but gave up halfway through" and from my understanding of the very few words I was given at this time and through the help of Google Translate, that tends to be the same thing where to have the o like in roll and then you just stop.
      Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

    I'm not even remotely close to being danish, swedish, norwegian or anything but come on !
    Æ = e like in help, but without the blowing sound of the H.
    ø = like the french "œ" like in "chef-d'œuvre".
    å = like awe from awesome or aweful.
    j = is a transition sound of sorts like a Y

      I am American and I speak Danish and live in Denmark, also I love learning about other countries. Please do not stereotype a country that is more than five times the size of yours. Its like stereotyping Europe. Doesnt work.

      Madeleine Johansen im danish and i speak english. they also teach german, french and spanish in school. my friend in school knows 5 languages. almost all danes speak english, but how many from the us speak danish? just the danes living there. im not saying that ppl from the us should leand all languages in the world, but maybe they should learn about culture thats not their own. like we do in all other countries.
