Hey Mark, after saving up a lot of money and working night shifts too, i finally bought an ZV-E1 with 11mm 1.8 for my vlogging channel. And i really appreciate your in depth videos which gave me the confidence to pick this camera up. I am however wondering your camera settings which results in such sharp video on UA-cam. I made a video about why I use the a6100. It's not good enough for everything I do so it can literally just sit on a tripod in my set and never leave. In controlled lighting its perfect. good eye af, flip up screen, nice clean 4k.
I got the a6700 with the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8. Using it for both video and photos. Sony autofocus is so amazing! And the a6700 is the best value for money hybrid camera out there right now.

Nice video. I knew Patrick owned the A7IV but it seems he’s always talking about and using on the road the FX30. Guess APS-C is too small time for these creators 😂
Mark- Nice interactions and to hear what other Tubers are using. Be curious to hear your thoughts and from readers here what they would pick for a do-it-all camera? I assume it would be a hybrid camera but which one? Canon R6ii, R5, Sony A74, Pany S5ii, Nikon etc?
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisisThanks Mark! That was certainly my impression from your interviews. I don’t want to make a decision I will regret as I move into the mirrorless world.😢
I think my favorite person out of everyone was the RED Komodo guy because at least he's self aware and doesn't follow the Sony A7 herd. All of the Sony FX3s being used as "studio cams" and B cams I can't wrap my head around. I currently shoot on a Sony A7IV for work (videos and product photography) and at my previous job I shot on the Blackmagic Ursa, Ursa mini, and Pocket Cam (commercial and corporate videos). For personal projects, I'm a Panasonic LUMIX girlie. G9II as my main and G7 as my backup for when I shoot conventions and other events for UA-cam. If I ever were to get a cinema camera for client work or for my own filmmaking I'd probably get a Komodo.
It was a question to UA-camrs about their personal studio setup, so I think it’s not a matter of following the herd as much as Sony makes sense for a lot of content creators. Great autofocus and a big selection of fast, wide lenses for both apsc and full frame. And the price point of the A7iv is a whole lot easier to swallow compared to a RED 😀
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Well yeah, I don't expect anyone to be using RED solely for UA-cam content. They'd have to buy all the accessories to make it operational which is also going to cost you. I just liked his honesty. The cost of his RED setup is probably the same or less than the guy with 11 cameras. 😂 No judgment though. I have my Canon T3i I refuse to get rid of because I feel like it still takes better photos than my Panasonic.
As a Canon user, I feel a little overwhelmed at seeing all the Sony users here. I know that's just the current state of the industry, though. At least Anthony Gugliotta and Fellow Filmmaker were Canon users, specifically of the R5 (both) and the R50 (latter). I'm an R8 user myself, which is somewhere in-between the R50 and the R5 in terms of its capabilities, but still small enough to be a somewhat-portable vlogging camera (it's not much bigger than the R50). Although the battery life leaves a lot to be desired, the R8 does shoot uncropped 4K on a full-frame sensor. Sometime in the future I had thought about getting an R5, likely used (so probably not the R5mkII, just to save money), once the time comes for me to get a dual-card-slot camera with IBIS, although I'm going to prioritize lenses before I get a second body. One of either the RF 24-105 f/2.8 or the RF 28-70 f/2 are commanding my attention right now, the former being better for my R8 as it has IS, but if I could get a used R5 at the same time (more $$$; one of these lenses is already ~$3,000) or if I know I could do good shooting without IS, the latter might be worth it. I'm mainly thinking photography, although the former lens also has more application on the video side.
