I understand what your talking about the tingles being triggered without audio and instead through grooming. When I get massages or go to the hair salon where someone is playing in my hair for a long time, I get the tingles people describe when listening to asmr. I don't get them from any audio though.
I had a phase of watching asmr of someone getting their hair washed and I began to feel it on my own head and it was amazing. So absolutely same, irl too
Omg same, I also get it when someone draws on my arm with a biro?? It's been a long time since anyone's done that for me, it was a bored at school type thing

I personally love Latte ASMR and any korean style vlog video with intentional background sounds for ambience. Chefs kiss. I think some weirder asmr I'm into is not really a genre but a specific channel. He's Jim ASMR. He's this welsh guy who makes very strange concepts for videos that I don't watch for relaxation, but purely for entertainment purposes. My first video of his being one called "you are feral" where he's doing little experiments on you in this cage and feeds you little treats for behaving, and it goes through multiple days within the video. Idk why it took my so long to figure out, but you're supposed to be in the perspective of a feral cat/small animal. But it was so strange and I've been watching ever since. Anubis told me that i belong in heaven and i can only get that from Jim ASMR himself. Highly recommend just even to scroll through the videos he makes to see how strange they can get.
Currently any Asian ASMRtist is at the top of my list. The pronunciation of Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, ect. words just is incredibly soothing to me. ASMR Twix and Late ASMR are two of my favorites.
ASMR TWIX OMG she literally has the BEST videos i swear, the sweet japanese ladies providing the treatments are so soft spoken and relaxing, always a go to when i’m trying to get some sleep 😌💖
Y’all don’t understand how much this podcast literally saves my days. Today has been a terrible day in a terrible month but seeing this posted gave me my first smile today!
My childhood friend was always ahead of her time and got into ASMR in like 2010. I was like "okay, yeah, sure" and was SHOOK when it became popular years later
I don’t know that this is a technical category, but like “visual” ASMR... fingernail painting compilations, knitting videos, those fancy cookie decorating videos, lettering/calligraphy compilations, vehicle detailing/rug deep cleaning (sometimes).. idk all sorts of things like that, and I just watch them without the sound, they usually just have music anyway. It can put my asleep in minutes, very relaxing and tingly. I also have ADHD/neurodiversity as well as sensory overload, so I do enjoy the auditory ASMR as well, like the tapping and soft speak, typing sounds, Bob Ross, etc.. but there definitely are things visually that if they had the sounds would be very off-putting to me.
I remember discovering asmr on UA-cam in 2011 when there were only a tiny handful of people making it, I think the first video I watched was one of GentleWhispering’s first uploads where she brushes her hair. I was hooked instantly, and was also so excited to have a name to put to the feeling I’d been trying to describe to people my whole life. I told everyone about it and they kind of just acted like I was gross and weird. I’m truly delighted at how popular it is today, and it’s so interesting that so many of us experience it.
I love chalk eating, soap cutting and roleplay asmr's-- especially the ones from goodnight moon because she's amazing and her valley girl series is kinda funny! I also love like rain hitting the window, onsen noises and LOVE crackly fireplaces...
@@samanthabilton4120 I'm from Herts too and have lived bloody everywhere in Herts and have never heard goosepimples. Pimples is a more American word anyways right?
I can’t live without asmr! My favorite triggers are personal attention/grooming, tapping, writing/painting. I can only handle a handful of people’s whispering.
love every one of these! the things you and brittany talk about, how you joke with and bounce off each others individual unique sense of humors, and your perspectives *chefs kiss*
Any mouth noise ASMR makes me feel like I'm going to throw up. Whispering, licking, smacking, eating--any of that makes me feel so physically ill. I have misophonia, and it involuntarily evokes a very sudden and violent response inside my body. Tapping is okay. Rain falling or someone, like, running their hand through rice? Those are nice. But I just avoid all ASMR in case someone whispers at me. As for "growing up," I will literally throw up on you if you tried to play mouth ASMR at me Brittany.
I absolutely love ASMR. My favorites are fantasy role play or personal attention, like hair brushing and face brushing/makeup application. I love Goodnight Moon’s videos, she puts in so much effort and the visuals of her role plays are amazing! I want to stay awake to actually watch it all and get the storyline but I’m asleep in minutes. Also unintentional ones like doll repainting, baking, and painting/drawing are so relaxing! On another note, I cannot stand that kid who is the highest paying creator on UA-cam. My kids watched one video of his and immediately started wanting the crap he was opening. They don’t watch UA-cam anymore because the algorithms would always take the videos away from the normal nursery rhymes and cartoon things like that and would end up on some weird family doing strange things with their kids in costumes and stuff and it’s uncomfortable to watch but somehow kids get sucked into it.
my favorite asmrtist is probably tingting ASMR, i don’t even feel tingles but it is very relaxing for me and i love hair brushing, the soap on mics, unintelligible whispering asmr (etc)
You should do a synethesia (spelling?) podcast! I've always wondered if I have it, or if being a lifelong artist just makes me think about colors and visuals relating to things more.
I’ve had covid this week and I haven’t had time to truly binge this podcast before and I’ve went through all episodes and I’m dying for more! Two hilarious and beautiful women keeping me laughing through this virus. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I regularly watch Jocie B asmr she is like the only asmrtist that truly relaxes me as well as gives me tingles. I’ll put her on in the background when I’m doing homework or drawing or playing video games like her videos are just so soothing.
Loved this one! I had no idea that UA-cam was still being a dick to the amsr community. My favorite asmrist is Goodnight Moon! She has amazing storytelling ans grand sets.
Omg I love this podcast. U guys are so talented mwuah. Personally I have adhd and autism and I cannot stand the whispering and mouth noise ASMRs, they irk me and make me itchy and irritated on the inside. Like when I feel sand on my body, just awful. But I LOVE the furniture restoration asmrs so much!! And OddTinkering asmrs are great, Baumgartner restoration, and keyboard typing is so nice for my ears. I’m allowed to not like the sound of spit sloshing around in someone’s mouth!!
oo I think I'm the same! I always thought I hated ASMR because I thought it was just the whispering and food stuff, both of which make me feel physically ill, but I love like soft wood sanding noises and keyboard sounds, so maybe there is ASMR for me.
@@RealElongatedMuskrat yes that is totally asmr!! Check out Modern Makeovers channel, they refurbish old furniture and the noises and visuals are immaculate. Same thing with Baumgartner Restoration, it’s art restoration and the cleaning process is my favorite. Plus you learn about art and stuff! Because he does talking videos and asmr videos.
omg i just wrote almost the same comment- baumgartner restoration doesn’t give me the weird response, but i do genuinely enjoy it and have to make sure i only watch it when i’m ready to go to sleep lol. the tool restoration is awesome too, some of the noises will quickly wake me up but i really enjoy the videos. a quick recommendation as well, since you seem to have hella similar taste- a channel called Asu. he makes little scenery water features/ aquaterrariums, which is pretty much the only other ‘asmr’ type thing i’ll watch. they’re so pretty and there’s no talking, so it’s really good
I knew a girl from my school named Gracie who got to 1 million on UA-cam doing ASMR. IDK how well her channel is doing now; I don't keep up with either her or her content, but it's pretty wild to think I took a couple art classes with her.
I feel like i've become addicted to youtube since I discovered asmr years ago and there are some amazing asmrtists that i love to follow over the years, but tbh sometimes the triggers that i like changes idk, but it's a nice experience. My personal favorite at the moment is reik asmr, mostly by The Lune Innate and she is amazing because she uses soft spoken voice and hand movements, one of my favorite triggers combined.
Just watched not too deep w Brittany and then got this notification, yall are addicting to watch. Not only are you guys hilarious, but your insightful and thoughtful commentary on things is refreshing to hear from influencers and just humans in general. Keep being great ❤
I don’t get the tingles, but I listen to ASMR every night because it makes me so sleepy. It helps my insomnia so much. I don’t like the eating or mouth noises, but I like the whispers and certain tapping/crinkling noises. I really love videos in languages I don’t understand, because I end up just letting it wash over me instead of trying to listen to the words.
For those who are curious and don’t know, a shilling is an old British coin that’s not in circulation anymore. Though a lot of older people will remember them (as well as the half penny I believe) and talk about they remember when they got rid of them
My Spotify wrapped for the passed 2 years has just been rain sounds, every single night I fall asleep to rain sounds. ALSO asmr that I’m really into is chiropractor videos, minimal talking, personal attention and bones cracking ugh it makes me tingle
Dropping into the comments here before I start listening, I am so glad y'all are covering this. People rarely understand ASMR - and it changed my life. But, it is inherently strange.
just wanna say thanks to both of you. i know that on your end, the pod and the channels are a source of income (not to take away from your obvious passions for what you do) but for some listening to you has become part of a routine. it’s calming. i feel like i can relate to your content (for both) and i love seeing the success! maybe that was worded weird. either way, love you both! thanks for making me laugh and being a distraction from the stress in my life ❤️
I started listening to "Sleeping on Boyfriends Chest" ASMR videos to help me sleep, and the combination of breathing noises & the subtle heartbeat makes me fall asleep SO FAST, omg. Best thing I've discovered this year so far. :)
I feel like Brittany would love Baumgartner Restoration. It's art restoration ASMR and it's so relaxing and satisfying seeing the end result Highlyyyyy recommend
I love how effortlessly you guys transition from your random rambling to going back on topic. It's so smooth and I strive to have that type of ability with my day to day conversations 🤣
yooo, so i just found y’all and i’m so grateful, lol. I need more chill girl content on youtube and in the podcast space. thank you guys for bringing us laughs and ridiculous content, keep doing your thing!
I just recently discovered ASMR as a way to fall asleep! I love the ones where the ASMRtist "interacts" with the camera - so putting on make up, doing my hair, inspecting me, drawing me. My favorites are definitely Celaine's ASMR and Jocie B ASMR!!
I have been having the worst day - and this is giving my seratonin. thank you. EDIT: my dog isnt doing amazing - we had a lil emergency vet visit last night and this is literally the only thing giving me any relief from my anxiety. edit part two: i have misophonia so i actually dont like asmr, i only came here for yall.
i really like barista asmrs where they're just making drinks. just love hearing ice being poured in a plastic cup. theres a lot of korean cafe ones and the drinks they make looks so good and cute! i pass out to those immediately
For no talking asmr ASMR Bakery is the queen. I can’t really fall asleep if there’s no talking but she actually saves me when I’m supposed to be working but can’t concentrate. Her videos make me feel like someone is gently scratching my scalp, it’s incredible
so i am obsessed with asmr, but i have never gotten “tingles.” it makes my eyes heavy and makes me sleepyyyyy, so i think it’s crazy how people react differently
I listen to ASMR literally every night to go to sleep. I only really get tingles on very specific triggers but I just love how calming it is. My absolute FAVOURITE of all time is BatalaASMR she is literally amazing. I wish UA-cam would let her post lens licking because I know people think it's weird or whatever but it's a great trigger. She's super creative!!
The type I like is people just cooking, cake and cookie decorating. But my all time favorite is artists just mixing paints from powder/chunks of pigments and then painting. Just the crushing of those pigment chunks is sooo relaxing
Some of my favorite ASMRists are under appreciated, Latte ASMR, ATMOSPHERE, and Be Brave Be You ASMR, Latte have mini sets and doing English videos even tho it’s not her first language. ATMOSPHERE having a PRODUCTION of a video, like mini movies, she has excellent green screening, costumes and she plays every character it’s INSANE. Nicola from Be Brave Be You ASMR is always something interesting and comforting I just think they’re all great and deserve endless support 💖
BRITTANY THANK U FOR NORMALIZING MOUTH SOUNDS... I thought I was literally insane for liking it 👀👀❤️❤️ Edit: okie babe... u lost me at eating food tho😅
One of my favorite things about this show (other than the lovely and hilarious hosts) is the fact that you cover topics with which I'm often pretty unfamiliar. I can't feel ASMR, but I have misophonia, so I stay far away from it. I also have some sort of synesthesia (or something similar to it) and goosebumps from music.
ASMR channels that are technically role-playing/narration ones, but really are audio-novels/radio dramas just in ASMR (great examples of those would be Redacted ASMR and ZSakuVA), are by far my fav - super engaging and relaxing/calming at the same time
I started watching ASMR without knowing what it was a long time ago. I found all these Japanese candy making kit videos on here. No talking, just opening packages and making candy it was perfect. I only like those, ambient noise, and sometimes slime videos, no talking 😂

After watching the doc “An Open Secret” and listening to the podcast Beyond the Blinds I’ve been shocked with the lack of protection for children in show biz and the lack of consequences for the adult abusers. I can’t believe there has yet to be a “me too” movement for kids.
I understand what your talking about the tingles being triggered without audio and instead through grooming. When I get massages or go to the hair salon where someone is playing in my hair for a long time, I get the tingles people describe when listening to asmr. I don't get them from any audio though.
i looked it up and tingles from light touch is a form of ASMR! it’s the only form that affects me in any way
I had a phase of watching asmr of someone getting their hair washed and I began to feel it on my own head and it was amazing. So absolutely same, irl too
oh!!! that makes so much sense, i fully know the feeling they describe but never got it from asmr videos.
Omg same, I also get it when someone draws on my arm with a biro?? It's been a long time since anyone's done that for me, it was a bored at school type thing
love to see this “ASMR-friendly household” 💗💗
“I don’t wanna judge you but I will” sarah keeps it real
13:07 Brittany’s stroke joke had me DEAD she’s so naturally funny 💀
The anemia thing is called Pica! I had it! Because I was severely anemic and I wanted to eat snow, ice, icey sponges, sudsy soap. It was got really weird and you really only understand if you have it. Once I got better I was like “wtf was that?!”
Pika is a response to trauma though. You can crave non foods and just eat a food like that thing and be fine.
@@ontxtteredwxngs the disorder can stem from multiple different sources

LATTE ASMR! I love her!!! She puts so much thought and effort into her sets and it's really immersive. I just love her so much. 🥺
I love watching people clean cars, carpets. Really dirty stuff that they need a power washer to get dirt off.
I had a phase where all I would watch was car detailing videos, and this comment got me wanting to go back to that LMAOOOO
@@venusyurk1729 I got a guy you can watch haha
Ohhh power washing sidewalk and dirty rug videos. Completely forgot about those until I saw your comment! Lol 😂 I didn’t realize that was a type of asmr until this video!
@@venusyurk1729 this was me and I had no idea why I enjoyed watching those car detailing videos so much 😭 I really wanted to buy all of the products they used
Dude the carpet ones are so satisfying, I love the ones where they push the water out of it like YES PLEASE
Knew that they were gonna do this. Considering how "far" ASMR has come
Currently any Asian ASMRtist is at the top of my list.
Same!!! I literally need to study for a subject I'm lowkey flunking LMAOO Manifesting good days ahead of you!
i LUVVVV the same where they’re playing with your hair/brushing it/braiding it. i swear i feel it on my scalp
I love ASMR hair brushing! GentleWhispering was one of the first ASMRtists I actually subscribed to
An episode about subliminals would be fun! Especially the ones about changing physical appearance 😬
This podcast is one of my new favorite things to look forward to every monday or so. You guys are so funny, I could listen to you talk for hours haha
I love chalk eating, soap cutting and roleplay asmr's-- especially the ones from goodnight moon because she's amazing and her valley girl series is kinda funny! I also love like rain hitting the window, onsen noises and LOVE crackly fireplaces...
as a british person i can confirm we do not call goosebumps goosepimples wtf ew ... thought you were an ally brittany
Haha I’ve heard a lot of people that do I’m from Herts
Yes i was gonna say I’ve never heard it in England!
i literally had to come here to say this, i have no idea where they got that from
@@samanthabilton4120 I'm from Herts too and have lived bloody everywhere in Herts and have never heard goosepimples. Pimples is a more American word anyways right?
@@rizzle8426 so what do you refer to pimples as? spots.. blemishes?
My favourite ASMR is where makeup or fashion items are restored. Watching the process is so relaxing, and the noises are too. It’s so satisfying.
I’m glad I’m not the only one!!!
For people like you (and me to an extent), I appreciate those creators that put "No whispering" in the title so there are still videos you can enjoy
misophonia gang rise up 💪
I absolutely love ASMR.
They don’t watch UA-cam anymore because the algorithms would always take the videos away from the normal nursery rhymes and cartoon things like that and would end up on some weird family doing strange things with their kids in costumes and stuff and it’s uncomfortable to watch but somehow kids get sucked into it.
my favorite asmrtist is probably tingting ASMR, i don’t even feel tingles but it is very relaxing for me and i love hair brushing, the soap on mics, unintelligible whispering asmr (etc)
tingting is slay omg
Tingting is sooo good! I love her content.
unintelligible whispering would make me feel like I was having a psychotic episode omg
I LOVE tingting! Her voice is so good.
Sarah is non-binary so not women! I agree otherwise tho I just had covid too and this podcast carried me through it

The highlight of my week. Just know I’ll be watching this over and over again until the next episode comes out 😂❤️
I regularly watch Jocie B asmr she is like the only asmrtist that truly relaxes me as well as gives me tingles. I’ll put her on in the background when I’m doing homework or drawing or playing video games like her videos are just so soothing.
This makes my Monday so much better!!!
Because he does talking videos and asmr videos.
omg i just wrote almost the same comment- baumgartner restoration doesn’t give me the weird response, but i do genuinely enjoy it and have to make sure i only watch it when i’m ready to go to sleep lol. the tool restoration is awesome too, some of the noises will quickly wake me up but i really enjoy the videos. a quick recommendation as well, since you seem to have hella similar taste- a channel called Asu. he makes little scenery water features/ aquaterrariums, which is pretty much the only other ‘asmr’ type thing i’ll watch. they’re so pretty and there’s no talking, so it’s really good
watching ASMR back-scratching videos is so comforting and relaxing.
HELL YEAH SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS
"i dont want to judge you but i will" almost made me spit out my drink
I knew a girl from my school named Gracie who got to 1 million on UA-cam doing ASMR. IDK how well her channel is doing now; I don't keep up with either her or her content, but it's pretty wild to think I took a couple art classes with her.
wait was she gracie k?
@@Re-iv5pv yep that's her! she's super sweet irl it's just crazy to think I knew her
I feel like i've become addicted to youtube since I discovered asmr years ago and there are some amazing asmrtists that i love to follow over the years, but tbh sometimes the triggers that i like changes idk, but it's a nice experience.
Though a lot of older people will remember them (as well as the half penny I believe) and talk about they remember when they got rid of them
In my country🇲🇾, we use shilling to refer to coins. Maybe from the colonization era.
It's art restoration ASMR and it's so relaxing and satisfying seeing the end result
Highlyyyyy recommend
This is The only reason why I enjoy Monday 😩
I have been having the worst day - and this is giving my seratonin. thank you.
EDIT: my dog isnt doing amazing - we had a lil emergency vet visit last night and this is literally the only thing giving me any relief from my anxiety. edit part two: i have misophonia so i actually dont like asmr, i only came here for yall.
the entirety of the show joe pera talks with you is unintentional asmr it is one of my favorite shows
i really like barista asmrs where they're just making drinks. just love hearing ice being poured in a plastic cup. theres a lot of korean cafe ones and the drinks they make looks so good and cute! i pass out to those immediately
i love watching cooking asmr:people baking, cooking, whatever it is as long as its part if the cooking process, love it so much
As a British person I can speak for the Brits when I say we have never called them goose pimples always goosebumps or chills ☺️
For no talking asmr ASMR Bakery is the queen. I can’t really fall asleep if there’s no talking but she actually saves me when I’m supposed to be working but can’t concentrate. Her videos make me feel like someone is gently scratching my scalp, it’s incredible
These ladies are just hilarious!! I would totally come out and support Sarah for her shows!
I really like the unpacking ones and the one with the organizing ladies that refill their containers
so i am obsessed with asmr, but i have never gotten “tingles.” it makes my eyes heavy and makes me sleepyyyyy, so i think it’s crazy how people react differently
She's super creative!!
sarah has so many great on the spot jokes it’s insane
Fun fact, y'all make me clean my house every week by simply releasing an episode. Love you 💖
I love how this podcast can turn from poopy jokes to actually interesting good data and conversations
My favorite is someone reading a newspaper. The sounds of the pages along with whispering or soft speaking is the best.
I took a break from screaming in my husband’s ear to learn about this alternate method.
“It’s not sexual” also “it’s the cl*t of the head” 😆
The type I like is people just cooking, cake and cookie decorating. But my all time favorite is artists just mixing paints from powder/chunks of pigments and then painting. Just the crushing of those pigment chunks is sooo relaxing
As a British person I would like to just clear up that we say goose bumps , I've never heard anyone around me say goose pimples 😂
I thought I was literally insane for liking it 👀👀❤️❤️
Edit: okie babe... u lost me at eating food tho😅
Asmr is my autism hell. I HATE it so effing much. The closest I get to asmr is dr. Creepen's videos. They are so soothing
Dude the ambient UA-cam videos are so good for sleeping. Love the space ones so much
Babe, wake up, new Violating Community Guidelines with Brittany Broski and Sarah Schauer episode just dropped.
ASMR channels that are technically role-playing/narration ones, but really are audio-novels/radio dramas just in ASMR (great examples of those would be Redacted ASMR and ZSakuVA), are by far my fav - super engaging and relaxing/calming at the same time
Misophonia sufferers would like a word😫
I started watching ASMR without knowing what it was a long time ago. I found all these Japanese candy making kit videos on here. No talking, just opening packages and making candy it was perfect. I only like those, ambient noise, and sometimes slime videos, no talking 😂
