I finished up Messiah a couple of weeks ago. It was so much shorter than the first book and I felt it was quite a bit different as well. I'm looking forward to working through more of Herbert's work in another month or two yet. On a side note, my copies of The Forgotten Moon and The Blackest Heart arrived today. So that is now on the TBR as well. haha
It's Lay-toe. Also, it's Ben-ay Jess-er-et. Also, Alia is Paul's sister. Also. Princess Irulan (ear-ooh-lan) is who Paul married to take over as the new emperor. I totally agree that Dune Messiah is a great bridge between to Dune and Children of Dune (the TV mini series, Children of Dune, combines Dune Messiah and Children of Dune).
In the audiobooks the narrator pronounces it phonetically as Benny Jezzeret. I like yours better. Maybe that small but noticeable change would have helped me enjoy the audiobooks better.
Talking about religion getting out of control..Paul had everything but once he mixed religion and politics you just know that things are not gonna turn out well
i like both hardcover and paperbacks. I reckon if i start an author in hardcover i keep buying that author in hardcover and if i start them in paperback i like to keep buying them in paperback.

On religion part frank herbert took almost all the things from history of islam : from the life of prophet muhammad, life of prophet Isa (jesus).
