What you said about the three books forming one big novel makes sense. I've heard Frank Herbert had already written parts of Messiah and Children before the first book was even published.

I think Children of Dune might be my favourite of the lot! Although I loved God Emperor of Dune too

I loved all three books also. I viewed Dune Messiah and Children of Dune as one book. This might be to do with how I read these three back to back because I have The Great Dune Trilogy as one big paperback. This meant I could go straight into C.O.D after finishing D.M. very smoothly.

I read Dune when I was 11 years old and just got out of the hospital from a traumatic operation. Dune is one of my favorite books of all time. I need to read the rest of the theories; I’ve been saying that for years, but you’ve inspired me.

In my mind, Dune and Dune Messiah is one long book. Personally, Messiah would have have been much better if it was just a long epilogue to Dune. Children of Dune is great though. So much great space opera drama in there.
Agreed on the movie. Had minor quibbles with it, but Villenueve did such a great job, given how dense the story is. What a visual masterpiece. I need to watch them sandworms 12 more times.

I know you’re not a video game guy but you’ve probably heard of a game called Assassins Creed; when you mentioned that you believed somewhat in the genetic memory thing, the game basically takes that idea and uses it to literally explore the past through a machine called the animus which is just awesome. I think there is a few books in the series as well.

I've read the first four Dune books. I loved them. I plan to eventually reread them and finally get to books 5-6.

I’m hoping that they have an audio description track for Dune. I was very hesitant about watching the movie considering how bad the first original doing movie wives. Now, you’ve gotten me excited to watch it.

I saw a hardback of the first 3 trilogy for £35 so if I got the second trilogy both all in 1 that would be £70, when I saw all six series in the dune series 2 for £7 so I got it for £21 that was a £7 cheaper than waterstones.

Query: you've never mentioned Asimov's work, specifically, his Foundation series. Your views?
