I would tell them from the start I'm just there to witness signatures and can't give any advice and they need to call the company if they need something in the papers explained to them
well duh, thats what you do, but it doesn't make it anymore or less stressful to deal with the people during the signing

@@amandapluma the purpose of a job is to give you the foundation, knowledge, and awareness to be a business owner. If you haven’t received these fundamental lessons and structures from your job then it doesn’t matter how much money you get you will be slammed by taxes and regulations and your compliance risk will go through the roof.

@@amandapluma I know, right? He's really straight forward and makes it easy to understand. I'm in California - Ventura County. The instructor said it will probably take a couple of months. The pandemic slowed everything down. Plus election, shut down, holidays etc. 🤷♀️
@@CoordinatedK10 ooh true, but March. Damn. I got my commission at the beginning of the pandemic right as everything shut down. So I could see how this has slowed everything down.
Keep the spirits up Amanda. Usually everything goes exceptionally well with signings...but sometimes...we get the doozies. Just brush off the negative vibes from that last Signing, and gear up for another $1k day. Be great

Amanda, first I love how you tell it like it is. I was wondering which signing agents do you use? Are they local to you or do you use one of the national signing services? Keep up the great work and videos.
I'm glad my honesty is translated through video. I use Snap Docs, Notary Go, and Signature Closers. Signing services usually send you signings in a 30 mile radius (you can also change that) Most of the time, I'd say they're local. Thank you for your support! :)

Thanks for the great vids. I'm considering getting into this business but I'm still not sure. what percentage of your work is just traveling on the road? my last job I was a habilitation specialist and driving was 50% of the job. it definitely burned me out and was one of the factors for me quitting. plus my car couldn't handle it anymore and I was paying more for car maintenance than I was making. thanks!
a good percentage of the job is driving. However, that varies because you get to decide how far you want to drive out. I can assure you if you choose to work a lot, what you'd make would outweigh the maitenance. Unless you're driving a gas guzzler.

I'm thinking of doing this myself. How much do you charge for signing loan docs or certifying the docs? I know CA is $15 per signature and you can charge whatever amount to travel to them.
When you started signing with signing services did you create a business name or did you just use your own name? Been enjoying your videos by the way, they're very helpful

the best advice is to sign up with signing services. Have you done that already? Once you sign up you'll get notifications to take signings. All you have to do is reply to a text or phone call. it's that simple.

Do you have to drop off the envelope at FedEx every time you do a signing? Or you just get all the documents (envelopes) together and drop them all at once?
It really depends on what time you finish and if they need scan backs. Sometimes if you sign in the evening Fed Ex is already closed so you have to drop it off immediately the next morning. I only drop them off all at once when I'm signing all day and I know I can make it by Fedex's pick up time.

Yes, or start by searching your states requirements on how to become a Notary.
It's tedious. You have to follow all of the steps.

Right! I hope she answers this. Having trouble finding credible courses.
I took mark will's loan signing course which taught me what each document was and how to do a signing. What's most important is that I kept reviewing documents and notary loan signing jargon until I felt comfortable with my knowledge. I also watched mock signings through the course and on youtube so I knew what a signing looked like.
If you don't know what you're doing I highly recommend going over every document until you can explain it. I believe in you! Once you have a great understanding then go out there and start signing. I'm sure you'll still be nervous as we all were starting out. However, once your knowledge kicks in you'll feel prepared.

No, it's usually net 30 days. If it's with a direct client it could be as fast as a week.
I am certified through NNA and the LSS. I have my stamp, printer and log book. But for some reason, I'm afraid to 'get out there'. Any advice to start?

Hi, so I have my signers wear masks. I also wear a mask. We try to distance as best as possible but sometimes it's hard bc we're passing papers back and forth. Some signers also prefer to sign outside, which I prefer.

I do use a brother printer, but it was super easy to set up on my mac. I just followed the instructions.
